and you let watch them try to hit a golf

Run Derby. I was I asked Jason if he wants
to be in the home run derby if I pull
it off. So we got him out there and put
a Relying Energy jersey on him and just randomly Jason

al Dean in the middle of the whole Cowboys team
And I don't even and we didn't have fans there
that day, so I don't even know if anybody knew
about it.

But it was fun.

You know what? They didn't have that. Back when I

four or fifth games, these guys should be whipping it
into shape. Depending on will they will they make it
through training camp healthy? Will they play most of these
guys in preseason games. Because the quicker you can get
(24:15):
guys acclimated to your system, the way you like to
do things the pace and speeds. Do you like to
do things where they can build endurance, because that's at
the end, that's just what it's going to take, some
endurance mentally and physically. Then we'll see, you know, by
the fifth sixth game, we should be like, hey, we
got something here, or about the fifth six games you
(24:36):
can be like, oh man, do we need another four games? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (24:40):
Last year training camp, you you spoke a lot about
last year and the year before last, the physicality when
you had the joint practice. Were you able to tell
Were you able to tell during training camp that there
were communication issues and alignment issues or did you have
to get in the season and see it actually on
the field before you realize that.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
Everybody's so basic that what most coaches do is especially
when you have a veteran team like the DRAMs. That's
what we're talking about. They're basic. All they want to
see is where their rookies fit in and where. But
the speed of the practice, the physicalness of the practice
was so different. We I thought the speed that coach
(25:28):
Shanahan had these guys going there, I hadn't seen Temple
like that in a few years. They Temple was up
there until they met an equal force, and that was
the Rams, and they forced us a little bit better
than ours and because their players were better than ours.
So the draft, for me, I love our draft because
(25:52):
I'm not looking at Caleb Downs like everybody else or
the Malachai kid. I'm looking at these are great building blocks.
I think we went out and got guys that can
fit in here, learned what to do, and young enough
and strong enough, and all of these guys have desire
to play, so football, I think is their number one priority.
(26:14):
So these guys are going to be better. They're gonna
be great building blocks. Where they fall, I'm gonna wait
and see.
Speaker 5 (26:22):
But you don't think they can. You know, you're talking
about the worst defense in the NFL last year. To
ask them to become a top ten defense by next year,
that seems like a big lead. But I do think
Downs and the guys that drafted, some of the guys
that brought in, and I think generally people feel this way.
They should be average, and maybe that's good enough. I
(26:43):
don't know that's change.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
They should be a little bit better than average. These
think so because what made us average last year was
two things, and these are two things you never want
to talk about as an NFL ownership team coach is
you don't never want to talk about smarts, and you
don't never ever want to talk about effort. And it's
(27:09):
just some games where you looked at our defense, you said,
what was the effort? If coaches got to spend the
majority of the time coaching your effort, we can never
put in anything new because you haven't even gave the
effort for what we've already.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
Got for our base defense.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
So we should walk out on that field four or
five spots up higher than thirty two because of just
the effort, just the effort.
Speaker 5 (27:38):
You know, like you've got a first year coordinator with
new schemes, you've got a lot of new players, yes, sir,
And there's you know how the preseason works. It starts
in week one. So I just wonder, like you just
said a little minute ago, how quickly can they really
gel and figure this thing out and become a unit
(28:00):
can be really make an impact.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
But you have twelve to fifteen padded practices and I'll
say the last eight teams in the playoffs, that was
scuse of the last six teams in the playoffs. If
you go back and see their health was in place there,
(28:23):
you know, and so what you do. It's a thin line.
You got to get your teams healthy because at the
last four or five games of the season, you're getting
for position, you're trying to do the things you need
to do to get into the playoffs and so on.
But health is the key. You have fifteen twelve to
fifteen padded practices doing training camp. You have to have
(28:44):
your guys ready. Each one of those practices. You know,
Now you do a walk through, then you do a
padded practice, or you do two days of padded practices.
I'm talking about in the morning, in the evening, depending
on what the coach wants. But when you if we're
fortunate enough to the rams Us and plus the Chargers
come in or vice versas we go to them, you
(29:05):
gotta have the guys ready because these are young guys
for the most part, and new guys coming from others.
Anything that comes from the forty nine ers, they're gonna
be ready to practice. Any guy that we got from
the forty nine ers, they gonna be ready to practice.
Shanahan demands that that you're gonna have to give up
some hard practices the Rams demand that they coach that Okay,
(29:30):
you're a little shaky, okay, but not tomorrow we full pas.
So that is what coach Shanahan I think is trying
to get guys shot in excuse me, Coach Shott, excuse me,
that's two different guys. But Coach Shottenheim, I think that
is what he's trying to do. He's trying to get
guys that want to be great at their craft. And
(29:55):
thanks for ye. I don't know why I keep going
back to coach shot Shanahan, but it's shot. I think
that's what he's trying.
Speaker 2 (30:01):

Speaker 1 (30:04):
I believe this right here, fellas. We we got to
pay close attention to that. And when we talking to
our fans out there, people that are listening, and you know,
Chris is out there. I mean Chris is out there.
He see what I see, you know, and me and
him like, man, this didn't look too good yesterday, and
he'll be like it didn't look too good.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
But you know, it's just will you be able to
go to will you be able to give it the
eye tests? To say, two weeks into training camp, will
you be able to look just from.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
The problem is like a better product. The problem I
have is will I center and two guards be healthy?
Because if I center and two guards be healthy, then
we know that our righte tackle is gonna fight. He's
gonna fight. He may not be the best athlete, but
(30:54):
he's a bulldog. Now, the issue is, can we look
at the past rushers that we've brought in here are
the down linemen that we're brought in here? Can we
see a dominance by them? Uh? And my left tackle
and my right tackle. They're not the best guys right now,
(31:14):
mentally of physically. So if I see Malachi just man,
Lord Jesus, you know, but I'm looking at what I'm
going against right So our report, but hey, for what
I see from this team of what I've seen in
the past, these two outside linebackers look good. But I'll
(31:34):
give you more if we play the rounds.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
You see what I'm saying, equal or lesser, equal or
greater talent?
Speaker 1 (31:42):
Yeah. The thing our two tackles have to this has
to be their best years. And we got a competition
between uh, Nate Thomas, Nate Thomas, and and and Guidons.
But Guiden is not His competition is not against Nate Thomas.

His competition is against himself. Can you stay healthy? Can
you make it through a training camp? You're going to
be the starting left tackle for the Dallas Cowboys. You're
supposed to be competing against Nate Thomas. That ain't your issue.
Your issue is can you get through training camp? So

put your defense out there, vote forward and if it

Team, especially in the seventies and eighties, they had a
traveling basketball team in the offseason. It was run previously
by Drew Pearson. It ran it for you guys in
the eighties.

But Eugene to both I mean Eugene Lockhart.

But yeah, you would the hit it machine.
Speaker 5 (39:50):
Several teams had these traveling basketball teams and they would
get together and like the Cowboys would go play the
Steelers in Opasso or something of a charity event. But
they do this. They'd go out several times a year
and play other teams.

You never see that eight times a year.

Was it competitive?
Speaker 1 (40:10):
Yeah? Yeah, but it was mostly fun because nobody wanted
to get hurt. Still, it was about football. But you know,
you always fought to be on it, you know. You know, man,
let me be on the traveling team. Let me be
on the traveling team.

Who'd you play with?
Speaker 1 (40:23):
Who was on your teams? Everson Walls, EUGENIEA. Bols, Michael Downs,
playmaker myself. I think Kevin Martin.
Speaker 5 (40:34):
You know this was was this going on in the
nineties too.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
I know it was over. It was over, buddy, And
I think.
Speaker 5 (40:41):
Drew Pearson talked about it because Drew person ran but
you know, we don't schedule everything back in the day.
And he remembered, you know, they played the Steelers in
the Super Bowl and lost, and then the next year
that offseason had to go play basketball against him, and
he made it sounded like it got pretty we got
pretty intense. You know, this team didn't like each other.

They had had too tall Jones six or nine, you know, Pierson,
a lot of other guys, had Percy Howard, who was
a college basketball player. He you know, he was part
of that for a year or two.

I mean, you you found out. I then played with
us a couple of times, and Larra Brown started his
own little squad, and so you know, we kind of
had two teams in Mexico City. All the small towns
that takes you named, we hit them. You know. It

Yeah, did you Speaking of competition, things have changed so much.
Just in society. Everybody's friends with everybody. Everybody swaps jerseys.

y'all guys have heard me say this. The only time
I'm I have a conversation with you is after the season,
because most people didn't. If you played me one or
two times during the season, you would think something's wrong
because I ain't talking to you, i ain't trying to
hear you, I'm not shaking your hand, I'm not no.

But then after seeing they'll see the same guy. Man, man,
you you you totally different than what I thought.

fortunately have a lot of A players you know that
turned out to be A players, and uh, they wasn't
playing many. You had to know your stuff. You know,
you got stepped Knoski in the middle of your your
offensive line. I mean he could put together the game
plan himself. He was so smart. Yah.

goal to win it or something at Tampa Stadium, and

would it be for all all eyes to be on you?

The world to be on you? And then that's when
I really understood the magnitude of the Cowboys. When we
went to that Super Bowl, well, all the eyes basically
was on us. And thanks to Charles Hayley, you know,
I was talking to him the other day. Man, you
give me too much credit, I said, brouh, without you,
the runs of Pro Bowls and runs of uh not
(46:49):
Super Bowls but all pros when it when it meant something,
the Pro Bowls, when it meant something, Man, I wasn't.
It took everything I had to go against the guys
I went against. I went against John Randall, Brian Young,
ain't a stubble field, the great Regie White or the

late Jerome Brown. I had to repeatedly go against Lawrence Taylor,
you know people of that ILK. It wasn't never, That's
what I'm saying. The NFC East, I didn't worry about
the overall schedule because the NFC East Washington, you know,
Dexter Manly Charles Man, it was just too many dogs

right well, WILB. Marsh, it was too many dogs where
I was. You know, everybody hiking their leg up and
you ain't gonna you're gonna peel on me dog. You
went for the house, you know what I'm saying.

So that's true that when you say it like that,
it's like you probably welcomed like a yeah, like when
Don Andrew you I only have him once.

We played. It's any thing about it is when we
played against the Detroit they had great players, but not
many teams were stacked te Charles Man, Dexter man that
you have Lawrence Taylor. What was the other great guy
on the other side outside linebacker of Banks? You got

call Banks, you got self Joiner, you got I Hope,
I'm saying his name right. You got Clyde Simmons, you
got Jerome Brown, Reggie, and you got Reggie, and then
you got Pits And what's the great announcement for ESPN
he played the other defensive tackle. Then you got Byron

Evans in the middle. Then you got two crazy safeties,
Muddy Waters and the other great safety. And you had
two outstanding corners. One of them is in the Hall
of Fame now. And I'm saying to myself, we played
against them, and we beat them in the playoffs on
a regular basis, Brother and so and so. Now you
(48:57):
got Green Bay, you know, and then Reggie goes Green
Bay and and and lift them up. That is what
Charles Hayley did to us. We had a bunch of
B players that were doing their job. Tony Tolbert B
plus Russell Maryland B plus Tony Cassilius B. You know,
we had the guys. Then when Charles came here to

a plus player, the true alpha, and lifted everybody up.
Now you got Darren Woodson, who should be a Hall
of Famer sitting back there.

different environment. They're not they're not in reporter mode where

And I don't even and we didn't have fans there
that day, so I don't even know if anybody knew
about it.

the first two or three games games, but by the
four or fifth games, these guys should be whipping it
into shape. Depending on will they will they make it
through training camp healthy? Will they play most of these
guys in preseason games. Because the quicker you can get

guys acclimated to your system, the way you like to
do things the pace and speeds. Do you like to
do things where they can build endurance, because that's at
the end, that's just what it's going to take, some
endurance mentally and physically. Then we'll see, you know, by
the fifth sixth game, we should be like, hey, we
got something here, or about the fifth six games you

can be like, oh man, do we need another four games? Yeah?

Last year training camp, you you spoke a lot about
last year and the year before last, the physicality when
you had the joint practice. Were you able to tell
Were you able to tell during training camp that there
were communication issues and alignment issues or did you have
to get in the season and see it actually on
the field before you realize that.

Everybody's so basic that what most coaches do is especially
when you have a veteran team like the DRAMs. That's
what we're talking about. They're basic. All they want to
see is where their rookies fit in and where. But
the speed of the practice, the physicalness of the practice
was so different. We I thought the speed that coach

Shanahan had these guys going there, I hadn't seen Temple
like that in a few years. They Temple was up
there until they met an equal force, and that was
the Rams, and they forced us a little bit better
than ours and because their players were better than ours.
So the draft, for me, I love our draft because

I'm not looking at Caleb Downs like everybody else or
the Malachai kid. I'm looking at these are great building blocks.
I think we went out and got guys that can
fit in here, learned what to do, and young enough
and strong enough, and all of these guys have desire
to play, so football, I think is their number one priority.
(26:14):
So these guys are going to be better. They're gonna
be great building blocks. Where they fall, I'm gonna wait
and see.
Speaker 5 (26:22):
But you don't think they can. You know, you're talking
about the worst defense in the NFL last year. To
ask them to become a top ten defense by next year,
that seems like a big lead. But I do think
Downs and the guys that drafted, some of the guys
that brought in, and I think generally people feel this way.
They should be average, and maybe that's good enough. I
(26:43):
don't know that's change.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
They should be a little bit better than average. These
think so because what made us average last year was
two things, and these are two things you never want
to talk about as an NFL ownership team coach is
you don't never want to talk about smarts, and you
don't never ever want to talk about effort. And it's
(27:09):
just some games where you looked at our defense, you said,
what was the effort? If coaches got to spend the
majority of the time coaching your effort, we can never
put in anything new because you haven't even gave the
effort for what we've already.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
Got for our base defense.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
So we should walk out on that field four or
five spots up higher than thirty two because of just
the effort, just the effort.
Speaker 5 (27:38):
You know, like you've got a first year coordinator with
new schemes, you've got a lot of new players, yes, sir,
And there's you know how the preseason works. It starts
in week one. So I just wonder, like you just
said a little minute ago, how quickly can they really
gel and figure this thing out and become a unit
(28:00):
can be really make an impact.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
But you have twelve to fifteen padded practices and I'll
say the last eight teams in the playoffs, that was
scuse of the last six teams in the playoffs. If
you go back and see their health was in place there,
(28:23):
you know, and so what you do. It's a thin line.
You got to get your teams healthy because at the
last four or five games of the season, you're getting
for position, you're trying to do the things you need
to do to get into the playoffs and so on.
But health is the key. You have fifteen twelve to
fifteen padded practices doing training camp. You have to have
(28:44):
your guys ready. Each one of those practices. You know,
Now you do a walk through, then you do a
padded practice, or you do two days of padded practices.
I'm talking about in the morning, in the evening, depending
on what the coach wants. But when you if we're
fortunate enough to the rams Us and plus the Chargers
come in or vice versas we go to them, you
(29:05):
gotta have the guys ready because these are young guys
for the most part, and new guys coming from others.
Anything that comes from the forty nine ers, they're gonna
be ready to practice. Any guy that we got from
the forty nine ers, they gonna be ready to practice.
Shanahan demands that that you're gonna have to give up
some hard practices the Rams demand that they coach that Okay,
(29:30):
you're a little shaky, okay, but not tomorrow we full pas.
So that is what coach Shanahan I think is trying
to get guys shot in excuse me, Coach Shott, excuse me,
that's two different guys. But Coach Shottenheim, I think that
is what he's trying to do. He's trying to get
guys that want to be great at their craft. And
(29:55):
thanks for ye. I don't know why I keep going
back to coach shot Shanahan, but it's shot. I think
that's what he's trying.
Speaker 2 (30:01):

Speaker 1 (30:04):
I believe this right here, fellas. We we got to
pay close attention to that. And when we talking to
our fans out there, people that are listening, and you know,
Chris is out there. I mean Chris is out there.
He see what I see, you know, and me and
him like, man, this didn't look too good yesterday, and
he'll be like it didn't look too good.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
But you know, it's just will you be able to
go to will you be able to give it the
eye tests? To say, two weeks into training camp, will
you be able to look just from.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
The problem is like a better product. The problem I
have is will I center and two guards be healthy?
Because if I center and two guards be healthy, then
we know that our righte tackle is gonna fight. He's
gonna fight. He may not be the best athlete, but

he's a bulldog. Now, the issue is, can we look
at the past rushers that we've brought in here are
the down linemen that we're brought in here? Can we
see a dominance by them? Uh? And my left tackle
and my right tackle. They're not the best guys right now,
(31:14):
mentally of physically. So if I see Malachi just man,
Lord Jesus, you know, but I'm looking at what I'm
going against right So our report, but hey, for what
I see from this team of what I've seen in
the past, these two outside linebackers look good. But I'll
(31:34):
give you more if we play the rounds.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
You see what I'm saying, equal or lesser, equal or
greater talent?
Speaker 1 (31:42):
Yeah. The thing our two tackles have to this has
to be their best years. And we got a competition
between uh, Nate Thomas, Nate Thomas, and and and Guidons.
But Guiden is not His competition is not against Nate Thomas.

His competition is against himself. Can you stay healthy? Can
you make it through a training camp? You're going to
be the starting left tackle for the Dallas Cowboys. You're
supposed to be competing against Nate Thomas. That ain't your issue.
Your issue is can you get through training camp? So

Well if the defense, though, is getting shorter fields, shorter fields.

Shorter fields, yeah, shorter feels and yeah, and even if
they do drive down, there's threes instead of sixes. Yeah,
there's threes instead of you don't have to kick sixty
yard seventy yard field goals. You know what I'm saying
you just because your defense can hold up a lot
of that. Last year, you know, we're like, oh, man,

great kicker, love him to love him to death because
you got seven million dollars. I'm gonna love you to death.
But you know this sixty five is all of this
because you know your defense can't No man, nah, just
put your defense out there, vote forward and if it
don't work, put your defense.

How when do you think we'll know if this defense
is vastly improved? Four games? Six games?

amount of everything during during the preseason. Now with everybody's
you know what, sixty percent of the team's not playing
their veteran players. It's it's basically who's got the best athletes,

who's willing to work hard? First four games and you'll know,
you'll know it don't take long. Now, you know, you
just got to have guys that would a lot of
want to So you think four weeks in will four
weeks because we got bamboozled.

What was that two years ago against Cleveland. We're like,
this is we going to the super Bowl?

We had a conversation in the break that I want

Yeah, I didn't realize was involved in this.

What were we talking about? The Cowboys had a traveling basketball.
Speaker 5 (39:34):
Team, especially in the seventies and eighties, they had a
traveling basketball team in the offseason. It was run previously
by Drew Pearson. It ran it for you guys in
the eighties.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
But Eugene to both I mean Eugene Lockhart.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
But yeah, you would the hit it machine.
Speaker 5 (39:50):
Several teams had these traveling basketball teams and they would
get together and like the Cowboys would go play the
Steelers in Opasso or something of a charity event. But
they do this. They'd go out several times a year
and play other teams.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
You never see that eight times a year.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
Was it competitive?
Speaker 1 (40:10):
Yeah? Yeah, but it was mostly fun because nobody wanted
to get hurt. Still, it was about football. But you know,
you always fought to be on it, you know. You know, man,
let me be on the traveling team. Let me be
on the traveling team.
Speaker 2 (40:22):
Who'd you play with?
Speaker 1 (40:23):
Who was on your teams? Everson Walls, EUGENIEA. Bols, Michael Downs,
playmaker myself. I think Kevin Martin.
Speaker 5 (40:34):
You know this was was this going on in the
nineties too.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
I know it was over. It was over, buddy, And
I think.
Speaker 5 (40:41):
Drew Pearson talked about it because Drew person ran but
you know, we don't schedule everything back in the day.
And he remembered, you know, they played the Steelers in
the Super Bowl and lost, and then the next year
that offseason had to go play basketball against him, and
he made it sounded like it got pretty we got
pretty intense. You know, this team didn't like each other.
Speaker 2 (41:01):
A little feisty.
Speaker 5 (41:02):
They had had too tall Jones six or nine, you know, Pierson,
a lot of other guys, had Percy Howard, who was
a college basketball player. He you know, he was part
of that for a year or two.
Speaker 1 (41:13):
I mean they were they were good and Mike doing good.
I mean, you you found out. I then played with
us a couple of times, and Larra Brown started his
own little squad, and so you know, we kind of
had two teams in Mexico City. All the small towns
that takes you named, we hit them. You know. It
(41:35):
was fun. It was fun.
Speaker 2 (41:37):
That is crazy.
Speaker 3 (41:39):
Yeah, did you Speaking of competition, things have changed so much.
Just in society. Everybody's friends with everybody. Everybody swaps jerseys.
Were there guys back then that you like, did not
like that you played against, Like if you would have
run into him.
Speaker 1 (41:58):
The time I'm gonna have a conversation with you, And
y'all guys have heard me say this. The only time
I'm I have a conversation with you is after the season,
because most people didn't. If you played me one or
two times during the season, you would think something's wrong
because I ain't talking to you, i ain't trying to
hear you, I'm not shaking your hand, I'm not no.
(42:21):
But then after seeing they'll see the same guy. Man, man,
you you you totally different than what I thought.
Speaker 2 (42:27):
People say you pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (42:28):
I'm like, yeah, I am, Bro. It's just when we
go on the football field, I ain't feeling you. Bro. Now,
if I got to play directly against you, I'm not
feeling you. Like Brian Brian Young. I think Brian is
in the Hall of Fame. I play against him in
the Hall of Fame. You know what, I should be
in the Hall of Fame because I slow these guys down,
some of themout stop.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
But anyway, Brian, y'all, I.

Wasn't saying nothing to him. This dude, this dude was
the ultimate warrior. Man. I wasn't you know, I'm trying
to figure out how to stop this beast. You know.

Were there guys that you don't have to name names,
but were there guys that you genuinely didn't like outside

a dude that had wasn't a very good study of

playing off just sheer talent for a lot for my
first early years one in what you call good football shape.
So everything was I had to stay focused in tents,

You had to lock in.

I had to lock in when you when you have
That's why I typically I've been with some of these
players been and that's why I always say you need
an A player, and that a player ain't playing, you
got to go to work because the B players are
gonna follow that A player and everybody else got to
just fall in line. And so Troy Emmett, we just

fortunately have a lot of A players you know that
turned out to be A players, and uh, they wasn't
playing many. You had to know your stuff. You know,
you got stepped Knoski in the middle of your your
offensive line. I mean he could put together the game
plan himself. He was so smart. Yah.
Speaker 3 (45:18):
No, man, but you Kurt, youavy beef with any writers
around the league.
Speaker 5 (45:22):
Oh yeah, we regularly.
Speaker 3 (45:23):
Go out of anybody you in a dark alley, snatching
them up by the back of the neck.

The thing about I understand there's no animosity, you know,
like I said, because when the season was over with,
but win in a Super Bowl and winning NFC championships,
And what got me fired up was I went to
the Giants and uh think Buffalo Super Bowl. I took

my parents and I watched the dude kick a field
goal to win it or something at Tampa Stadium, and
I felt that crowd. I said, wow, you know, and
that's all I can think about my mom and dad
talking and stuff, and I'm I'm like, wow, this what
would it be for all all eyes to be on you?
(46:26):
The world to be on you? And then that's when
I really understood the magnitude of the Cowboys. When we
went to that Super Bowl, well, all the eyes basically
was on us. And thanks to Charles Hayley, you know,
I was talking to him the other day. Man, you
give me too much credit, I said, brouh, without you,
the runs of Pro Bowls and runs of uh not
(46:49):
Super Bowls but all pros when it when it meant something,
the Pro Bowls, when it meant something, Man, I wasn't.
It took everything I had to go against the guys
I went against. I went against John Randall, Brian Young,
ain't a stubble field, the great Regie White or the
(47:11):
late Jerome Brown. I had to repeatedly go against Lawrence Taylor,
you know people of that ILK. It wasn't never, That's
what I'm saying. The NFC East, I didn't worry about
the overall schedule because the NFC East Washington, you know,
Dexter Manly Charles Man, it was just too many dogs
(47:32):
right well, WILB. Marsh, it was too many dogs where
I was. You know, everybody hiking their leg up and
you ain't gonna you're gonna peel on me dog. You
went for the house, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (47:41):
So that's true that when you say it like that,
it's like you probably welcomed like a yeah, like when
Don Andrew you I only have him once.
Speaker 1 (47:53):
We played. It's any thing about it is when we
played against the Detroit they had great players, but not
many teams were stacked te Charles Man, Dexter man that
you have Lawrence Taylor. What was the other great guy
on the other side outside linebacker of Banks? You got
(48:15):
call Banks, you got self Joiner, you got I Hope,
I'm saying his name right. You got Clyde Simmons, you
got Jerome Brown, Reggie, and you got Reggie, and then
you got Pits And what's the great announcement for ESPN
he played the other defensive tackle. Then you got Byron
(48:36):
Evans in the middle. Then you got two crazy safeties,
Muddy Waters and the other great safety. And you had
two outstanding corners. One of them is in the Hall
of Fame now. And I'm saying to myself, we played
against them, and we beat them in the playoffs on
a regular basis, Brother and so and so. Now you
(48:57):
got Green Bay, you know, and then Reggie goes Green
Bay and and and lift them up. That is what
Charles Hayley did to us. We had a bunch of
B players that were doing their job. Tony Tolbert B
plus Russell Maryland B plus Tony Cassilius B. You know,
we had the guys. Then when Charles came here to
(49:20):
a plus player, the true alpha, and lifted everybody up.
Now you got Darren Woodson, who should be a Hall
of Famer sitting back there.
Speaker 2 (49:27):
We beating these guys.
Speaker 1 (49:28):
I'm talking about guys that are in the Hall of
Fame that people got all the respect for. I mean
I got respect for him too, But we whooped them dudes. Man,
We beat them dudes on a regular basis. That makes sense,
doesn't And that's why when mister Jones say I'll give everything, well,

I know you gave everything because you went and got
Charles and paid him. You went and got Dn and
paid him, So I know you can do it.
