Speaker 3 (01:49):
Beat him, beat him to it, beat him to it. Yeah,

lying you flat trip.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
Yeah, it's like they ain't mean to do it like
road down.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
You gotta be. You gotta be a real life CDL
road driving and beating Nate out.
Speaker 7 (02:07):
Yep.
Speaker 8 (02:07):
You ever thought about that being a truck driver?
Speaker 7 (02:10):
No, man, because you can't stop when you want, That's true.
You gotta get eight product, eight hours or ten hours.
You can't do any side quests. Nope.
Speaker 8 (02:18):
Right we uh watching? Uh what is that your buddy Prime?
Speaker 3 (02:23):
You got to show out now?
Speaker 7 (02:25):
Yeah, that looks like the thirty for thirty.
Speaker 8 (02:28):
It's on NFL network now owned by ESPN's what they're doing, Chris,
do you know what's going on out here today tonight?
All the roads are blocked off and oh graduation three
graduations tonight, all right, the neighborhood's graduating to night this afternoon.
Speaker 7 (02:44):
All right? Cool? Well, the schedule's out.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
Schedule schedule is out.
Speaker 8 (02:51):
This is her pretty uh pretty brutal travel schedule.
Speaker 7 (02:57):
I guess first what first? Four?
Speaker 8 (03:00):
Well, Washington, I mean, what am I talking about?
Speaker 3 (03:04):
I don't know what you're talking about?
Speaker 8 (03:05):
The New York Giants at the Giants and then going
to Rio, and then Sunday at Houston, and then you
have a Thursday game. So the first I guess what
I'm trying to say is two, four or five. I
don't know what I'm saying. What am I saying?
Speaker 7 (03:20):
What are you?
Speaker 8 (03:20):
I'm off, I'm just.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
I'm trying to figure out when we start again. I'm
trying to figure out what you're saying.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
On the road five five, Five of the first seven
games will be on the road, even though that radio
is a home.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Game, technically it's on the rolls. Seven Cowboy games are
on I don't know, I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 8 (03:47):
You caught in your head and then when you start
saying it, you're like, I don't know where this is going.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
The Cowboys will be road warriors this ship. In addition
to that, the Cowboys also have two stints. Usually only
have this that that brutal Thanksgiving time, but the Cowboys
will have two stints this season where they played three
games in eleven days.
Speaker 7 (04:06):
Is that How big of a deal is that?
Speaker 3 (04:09):
This is what always hold.
Speaker 9 (04:10):
On, hold on number three, Kurt Ideas Jerry said about
the travelers wear and tear is a lot less than
a night out on the town.
Speaker 7 (04:19):
It is like they will be on in the rest
of Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
So it's I think I think Jerry is still living
in the nineties. Had I read that when they had
the Cocaine Cowboys back in the day, that that might
have been those nights might have been a little bit
rougher than the travel But this is why I always
chuckle when I hear owners and NFL personnel talk about
(04:42):
player safety. Right, they want to add an extra game, uh,
they said about twenty twenty seven or twenty twenty eight.
They want to have ten ten international games. Yeah, they
want to be able to get an international game on.
Speaker 7 (04:54):
Every single week. See getting fat in it.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
You know what they say about that slaughter. The Cowboys
eventually will probably have an international team that players teams
are rotating to going to play those that team. But
the when people ask me about what does it feel
like to play football, and you can attest to this,
(05:17):
especially somebody who's in the trenches, who hits every single.
Speaker 7 (05:20):
Down, like from the physical side, from the.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Physical side of it. Like I always tell people, if
you've ever been in a minor fender bender, right, if
you've ever been in a minor fender bender, maybe got
some whiplash, maybe you know, maybe some bruised ribs or
something like that. Now take a minor fender bender twenty
twenty five miles an hour that you kind of you know,
somebody made t bone. You'll you know, rear end you
(05:45):
or whatever. Now, if you went to the doctor, the
regular civilian human being went to the doctor after having
a fender bender, the doctor would tell you no physical
activities for three to four weeks. Well you know what
I'm saying, Like, we'll check back, we'll give you medication. Yeah,
you know, no no physical activities for three weeks, and
(06:06):
then we'll check up on you again. Forty seconds, forty
seconds I go from a fender bender, I got forty
seconds to line back up again and getting another one
and getting another one. And that's from like think about
Nate three hundred pounds worth, three hundred pounds, and you
know he's pulling around edge, or he's weighing blocking, or
(06:28):
you know, he's kicking somebody three hundred pounds worth, three
hundred pounds colliding for sixty five plays.
Speaker 8 (06:36):
With plastic hard plastic all over your body.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
And the person away from you is has I have
ill intentions? You have ill intentions? And now our ill
intentions meet at maximum speed at times. And I came
up in an error. Nate played in an era where
it ain't like it is now. You didn't get flagged
for kind of just ooh, you touched them a little
(07:00):
bit too rough. There was segments on TV that was
called jacked up where they highlighted someone getting their head
knocked off and you had forty seconds to recover and
do it again. And now, so when you tell me
about the wear and tear, and I have to do
this three games in eleven business days, eleven regular calendar
(07:23):
days twice?
Speaker 7 (07:25):
What do you mean there's two of those? Right?
Speaker 3 (07:29):
Yeah, to do it twice, so six games in twenty
two days total. Is there's no way you care about
my body. It's impossible. It's impossible to line guys up
and think that's player safety.
Speaker 9 (07:43):
And you know, an amazing thing about it just great point.
But the players don't care either. Just keep the money.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Yeah, when you're in it. When you're in it, you're
gonna do what this is why? This is why? You
know you always one of the things I laughed about
when it came to remember back when it was like
COVID and everybody had feel how you feel about COVID.
And I'm not telling you about the vaccines and all
that kind of stuff, but I always was. I was
(08:12):
always amused when you had NFL players that was like,
I'm not taking the jab because who knows what's in it?
And I'm like, you know how many locker rooms I've
been in with I haven't seen guys walking there with
they butt cheek out and then said, doc, get me
the Sunday that shoot it up. Didn't once what was
in it, didn't didn't know what was in it, didn't
(08:34):
care what was in it. Because tony point, can I
get on the field, what do I have? What do
I have to ingest or what do you have back
there in that cabinet that you can put in the
syringe in the needle and inject it into me so
that I can go out there and play semi pain free.
To go add more pain to my body every single
Sunday are they go ahead?
Speaker 9 (08:55):
You know what so funny is? And uh you young,
you strong. You get a little older, about four or
five years in all of a sudden you start feeling
it and the recovery is a little bit taking a
little bit longer.
Speaker 7 (09:08):
And then you finally say, you know what, Okay, you
get a routine.
Speaker 9 (09:12):
You get your deal before the game, before the game started,
hour or so before the game starts, so you can
get your system. Now you're saying, okay, boom, I'm going
to half at half and.
Speaker 7 (09:23):
Get another Yeah, you know, the prolong a little bit
and find out it's a line.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
It's a line.
Speaker 9 (09:30):
Yeah, and you're like, yeah, yeah, hey Rafferty Tom Raffley.
You know he's not longer with his rest, you know,
God bless so you know it'll change.
Speaker 7 (09:40):
I used to laugh and old man out of line.
It'll change. Then one day I'll be there standing next
to him with my head.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
Yeah, you're getting there. And then of course, like you
got God like, they come in and the like if
I was standing in a line, they're like, man, fool,
move I need it now. I'd like to go back
and make sure, I opened up a whole Famus Smith,
you gout to play, especially as I get it. But
let me get mine first.
Speaker 8 (10:02):
Are there guys that are considered like tough guys in football?
Or is everybody that plays football?
Speaker 7 (10:11):
We had a few on nine teens that everybody considered tough.
Speaker 9 (10:14):
Everybody ain't tough, Everybody ain't heck no, whatever.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
It's some it's some little kitty cats. It's another word
for kitty cat. Is that other word for kitty cat?
Speaker 8 (10:27):
Is it like a badge of honor to be one
of the tough guys? That's like, you know what, I'm
gonna play through. Damn there anything.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
It's not a I don't know if it's a bad
but some people just pride themselves on that. The people
just pride themselves on I have a job to do.
My brothers are expecting me to do my job, and
I'm gonna give them what I got. I'm gonna give
them what I got, you know what I mean? And
that that that matters, you know. And I'll say this
(10:55):
the day I die. There's no unit that is more
tight knit than the offensive line. It's impossible. I've yet
to see it. And playing this game darning all my life,
been around it for thirty plus years. There's not a
unit more tight knit. Like when you talk about brotherhood,
it don't get no more brotherhood and offensive line. So
(11:15):
when you look out there and like Nate said, you
know you talk hear him talk about well, I look
to my left and I got this guy. I look
to my right, I got this guy. I'm counting on them,
and they darn sure counting on me. And when I
ain't there, they looking at me like, man, what's wrong
with you? They're like, oh, my toe. They're like, man,
last week I play it, broke my whole Damn risk man,
we need you out there. So like that level of
(11:36):
camaraderie and brotherhood that you that you go into there
with and to the common folk, it won't make sense
because you've never been in that level of battle. You know,
when I say sometimes, and I know I very I
say this delicately, when you talk about military and football,
how that it's not we're not we're not going to war.
(11:59):
We're risking our lie. I like that, thank you for
your service. But there's a level of being in the
foxhole with somebody, you know what I'm saying. So now
you're like, man, if I can go, my brothers need
me out there today. They need they need me to
be out there to do our job because we're up
against the enemy, and that goes a long way.
Speaker 8 (12:16):
Why why is why is that? Why is offensive line
always so tight knit? And just say defensive line?
Speaker 9 (12:24):
You know, I don't know who started and how, but
that's the ticket because you guys like you have your
own little code, like we are not talking, we are
not doing this, and you do it all together. You
have a spokesman. No, I just happen to be out
but it's just I don't know.
Speaker 7 (12:44):
It ain't something you just you don't walk in and say,
hey man, we're gonna get together just once. You know,
once you hey.
Speaker 9 (12:53):
Man, Jesse, he ain't talking. That's how he lead though
I ain't talking, to go talk to Jes. I ain't talking.
They all of a sudden, Shannon ain't talking. Before you
know it ain't nobody talking.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
And there's no rotation on the offensive line unless someone
is legitimately hurt. Yes, these five guys walk out there
every down right like them in the quarterback are kind
of really the only two that don't ever come off
off the field. So there's this I don't know, I
don't I don't have the answer because I never was
an offensive lineman. But I've been in plenty of locker rooms.
(13:29):
You ain't fine, and you mess with one, you're done.
You're done because you it's eight, it's nine, ten, three hundreds,
and they gonna jack you up. And then and then
most of the time, most of the time, if you're
talking about like the most physically tough on a roster,
(13:52):
two or three gonna be in the offensive line. And
so you know what I'm saying, like, I don't care,
I don't care who to do this. I don't who
to mean it's in toughest most likely, most likely the
dude who gonna who will legitimately and realistically rip the
skin off your face.
Speaker 8 (14:09):
And they do like you have with like wide receivers
and dbs, there's a little clicks. You have three or
four guys go do this. But offensive line they do
everything together. They vacation together, they go eat together, they
do everything.
Speaker 7 (14:22):
It's weird.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
It's very weird because like even in the world Wide
Receiver group, I may not hang out with the whole group.
I might have one guy, but I'm also maybe a
cool with a safety you know what I'm saying, or
dB or whatever, or an offense line like you can't
hang with us. No, just our group, our group. We're
gonna go get these French fries and we're gonna go.
We're gonna go, We're gonna go knock this beers back
and they just I don't know what it is, but yeah,
(14:44):
this schedule is this schedule is interesting.
Speaker 7 (14:47):
All right, Let's talk a little more. Yeah, let's talk.
Speaker 8 (14:51):
Let's pick a couple of games that you guys are interested.
When we come back, we'll do that and more when
we come back on hanging with the boys, be right back.

Tito's handmade Vodka is the reason in Texas vodka is
even a thing. Back in nineteen ninety seven, we opened
Texas's first and only legal distillery. We paved the way
for knockoffs, copycats, and wannabes. Ever since, Tito's is the original,
the blueprint. Born in Austin, raised everywhere, blissfully ignoring trends
for decades, and we're still the only Texas vodka really
(16:19):
worth a damn Distilled in bottle by fifth Generation at Austin,

Back to Hanging with the Bulls.
Speaker 8 (17:14):
Welcome back to the second segment. I Hang with the
Boys brought you each and every show by blockchain dot Com. Trude,
thank you blockchain dot Com. The bye week late this year,
December the thirteenth, Kurt says, it's the latest bye week
since nineteen ninety.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Is that a good thing heading into the playoffs?
Speaker 8 (17:33):
Or are they going to be so beat down with
the schedule by that time?
Speaker 7 (17:37):
It's it's too late. We gotta think caudin, missus Jones,
it ain't no roughid in. I ain't gonna forget that
bro what miss Jones, there's another drinking drinking.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
So if we're going off the Nate Newton standard and
the team that Nate Newton always talks about being the
most physical and how you can test your gonna need
a break before you got to play the Los Angeles Rams.
So so you know, coming off those two back to back,
not back to back, but those two points in the
season when you got three games in eleven days, having
(18:12):
a late bye, if you got your life together, if
your life is together, you can look at this in
one or two ways. If your life is together and
you have taken care of business, you can say, we
get a bye on December thirteenth. We show up for
the Rams, we show up for the Jacksonville Jaguars on
(18:37):
Sunday Night football. After Sunday Night Football, you would like
to say to yourself, we've already locked up the division
these next two games, dak CD, George, have a seat
quinning those old dogs who might need a little bit
of a you know what I'm saying. You wouldn't like
(18:59):
to get to January third and going, oh, we're good,
We've already locked up the division. Were beating the Eagles twice,
We're taking care of the Giants. The Giants is out
of it, Washington is out of it, and now we
can kind of Coast. These last two games keep guys
relatively fresh off that buy and now get ready for
the playoffs. What you don't want is to get to
(19:20):
that by and you need the Rams, and you need
the Jacksonville Jaguars, and you need the Giants, and you
need the Washington Commanders to win those games to get
into the playoffs.
Speaker 9 (19:27):
I think you know, and I think it's a Jessee
in New York and in Washington right now saying.
Speaker 7 (19:35):
Get you yeah, yea, you're right. We get to New
York or we get this Dallas. You would like to say.
Speaker 9 (19:42):
But brother, well we have a defense, and if we
have a defense, then maybe we can get.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
To Christia Parker. They do what we're talking about. Christian
Parker's here. What do you mean this thing is top
fifteen Hall of Fame.
Speaker 9 (20:00):
Let's go, brother, I'm waiting, I promise you. I'mna have
to get to the camp. And I'm I'm.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
Think about the schedule that I was disappointed in was
we don't get the Rams in the in the preseason
because I do I do believe in Nate talking about
a barometer of what your team is going to be.
You play against, you play against the Rams. They gonna move.
They gonna move people, and I want to see what
it looks like because I don't really like Seattle would
be kind of, you know, good. But Arizona, the Saints.
Speaker 8 (20:30):
They can still scrimmage them in training camp.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
Training camp.
Speaker 7 (20:34):
Yeah, have the joint practice.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
But are they though? Maybe I hope they do.
Speaker 8 (20:38):
That's when Nate told us the last two years, like, bro,
we're in trouble.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
And he was was he not right?
Speaker 7 (20:43):
That's right?
Speaker 3 (20:44):
Was he not dead on when he said it? He called,
he goes, hey, man, listen, I saw I saw Jared
versus I saw them. Hey, we're in trouble.
Speaker 9 (20:51):
But I agree. You know, you know, I'm not as
hyped about Coach Parker. And you know even our first pick,
I'm not as hype. That's everybody else, Ate hater, nay hat. No, boy,
you're right because I'm telling you like this here it
will take you. We have what twenty new pieces on
(21:15):
the defense, and uh, you know, we we walked up,
we see guys out there on the field.
Speaker 7 (21:22):
It looks it looks good, you.
Speaker 9 (21:23):
Know, And I promise you that all the players were like, yeah,
Coach park is different than what we've had. And and
then all of a sudden, the machine gun come out.
And that's the regular season. It's it's rapid fire. You
ain't got time to think. Coach Park, ain't stopping practice
saying okay, stop, if you see this now, it's happening
(21:44):
real time. So I just want to wait and see.
I hope we get the Rams and the Chargers in practice.
I hope we can practice against because I want to
be able to give a fair assessment of what I see.
I don't want to be preferencing, and I'm hoping I'm
(22:06):
saying it correctly, saying okay against us, this dude looks
super right against us, you know. Oh man, our defense,
Oh wow, they look against us well. Against us, it's
seven and something against the against the Rams, it's playoff.
Against the Chargers is playoff. If you're looking good consistently
(22:29):
against these dudes.
Speaker 7 (22:31):
It could be something there.
Speaker 8 (22:32):
Yeah, yeah, I like these these four games, the two
before and the two after the bye. I think your
season is going to come down to right before the
playoffs would start, right Philly at Seattle.
Speaker 9 (22:47):
You're still stumbling. You get a bye, you still stumbling?
Why am I stumbling? You're still stumbling at the round
because you never forgot about the first four or five.
Speaker 8 (22:55):
No, no, if you get I'm saying, I think that's
this is your if. If you're going to be the
playoff contender, these four games is your season, because you're
gonna know what you are. And if you don't get
through that little gauntlet right there, you'll agree you don't
need to be in the playoffs.
Speaker 9 (23:11):
Now.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
The Philadelphia game is the tail end of that second
eleven games I'm sorry, three games in eleven days, right,
and then you have a small mini bube because you
play Philadelphia on Thanksgiving, right, and so then you don't
play again until that following Monday. So you'll have that Thursday, Friday, Saturday,
(23:32):
Sunday off before you're right, yeah, before you back in
the building. Have to play that next that next Monday.
But yeah, I mean, you get through that, you get
through that level of a gauntlet right there. That that
that's that's either going to catapult you or your spirit
breaks there.
Speaker 8 (23:49):
You win two of the two of those four, right,
and you make it in the playoff, I mean, that's
those are good.
Speaker 7 (23:55):
You're not You're not going in.
Speaker 8 (23:56):
The playoffs beating a bunch of powder puff teams. Right,
if you're going to playoffs, you improve yourself.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
You you get through this stretch and you're and you're peaking.
I mean, you're talking about playoff, super Bowl champion playoff.
The Jacks go of the playoffs last year. I don't
I don't remember, but they're good. They're good football team.
So you know what I'm saying, Like that that gauntline
right there.
Speaker 9 (24:17):
Is But the question is after the first four games,
which is New York, yes, which Commanders.
Speaker 7 (24:24):
And Zeel Waste, what would your record be? That that
that is what got me concerned. And you know what,
what will your record be?
Speaker 9 (24:34):
It wouldn't surprise me if he was zero and four
or four and oh, ain't you ain't going there. You're
gonna have to be at least two and two because
when you get to the Monday night game Philadelphia, if
you're not two and two, you win when you lose.
When you win, all you're gonna do is break even.
(24:57):
You can't be breaking even. You got to be two
and two in ain't looking to get ahead?
Speaker 8 (25:01):
Do either one of y'all have a feel for what
this team is going to be like at all as
a whole looking at these first four games, Like you said,
I mean, would it shock you if.
Speaker 7 (25:11):
They're ohing four or four and oh yeah, own four.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
I'm shocked on four oh and four and I'm I'm
I'm I want a job. I want jobs, oh and four,
I want jobs. You start ohing four.
Speaker 7 (25:27):
I'm I'm just start over.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
I'm yeah, because I mean to go oh and four
with this schedule and to come out of this nah, no,
oh and four? Now now I need jobs now now,
now the seat went from uh to it is. It's hell,
it's on fire, it's lucid for sitting next to you.
You go on four because you should beat the Giants.
(25:51):
You should beat the Giants, do well, they be improved. Sure,
I think Hallball brings a level of improvement to them.
You should beat the Commanders, right you should beat the Commanders.
And Baltimore is a toss up and right now, and
I think the way that that Texans defense, the way
they fly around, that could be a toss up game.
(26:13):
So if you left out of this two and two,
three and one, you feel okay, I feel great. I
feel great because you have another slate of games where
you're gonna have to Tampa won't be a cakewalk. Green
Bay won't be a cakewalk. Then you got Philly again.
You can say what you want about Arizona, good bat Ugly.
When they play the Cowboys, they send to show up, right.
(26:36):
So like, there isn't there isn't many There isn't many
places in here where you can kind of just go,
oh yeah, we can run off five or six straight.
So you get down early on and now you're you
trading win loss, win. You're trading that back and forth. Now,
when you get to that end of the season, we
will have the conversation, oh, yeah, well we need this
(26:58):
team and that division to lose three and this team
to win. Because there is no there's not many spaces
in here where you're like, oh, yeah, we could just.
Speaker 8 (27:07):
There's no Well, that's what jumps out to me. There's
not one team on here that's a guaranteed win.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
Tennessee. Tennessee's a guarant should be yes, should be Yeah,
Tennessee's should be a guaranteed win. But the rest of them,
you're cant like, Colts should be a guarant should be?
Who the Colts, Indianapolis Colts?
Speaker 7 (27:24):
Who the quarterback?
Speaker 3 (27:25):
That's a great question, exactly, Danny dives should be should
be You don't.
Speaker 7 (27:30):
Know how that's gonna look, yeah, but it should be.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
But everything else, I mean, you'd like to say Arizona,
but every time we say.
Speaker 8 (27:35):
And crazy stuff happens against Arizona, broke right flood on
your punter.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
And so I mean, like I said, all the rest
of these games, you know, until otherwise noted, San Francisco
is your daddy. H you always split one way of
another with Philadelphia, the Seahawks. That's gonna be at Seattle,
that's gonna be a that's gonna be a dog fight.
Night game at Seattle gonna be a dog fighting Rams
(28:02):
gonna be a dog fighting Jacksonville won't be a good
game again, then you should end of the year beating
those two. By the way, Jacksonville wonders the division line. Yeah,
so what I'm saying, so like you talked this, there's
a bunch of dog fights in here. There's a bunch
of dog fights. And like I said, Tennessee might be
the only lay up. You know what I'm saying, Like
Coach's gonna be a contested shot. Who knows what you're
(28:24):
gonna get with Arizona. And then everything else is and
this is the killer. Guards your grill next to kill.
Speaker 9 (28:30):
This is the killer. We talk about it, we ignore,
but other players don't. On other teams.
Speaker 7 (28:41):
This Cowboys, everybody gets an extra spice. Can we put
it to that thing? You know? I hate to say that.
Is that still a thing? Absolutely?
Speaker 3 (28:52):
If you ever notice, we don't have a Philly week,
we don't have a Giant week, we don't have a
Washington week. They all have it. Philly has it, Dallas week,
Washington has a dollars week. Giants got a dollars week.
Everybody looks at the Cowboys and and it's it's you know,
oh so Diggy Zoo already talked about the darts on it.
(29:14):
Now you know, you take one picture down and put
the other one. You know, he's like when I was
a cowboy, it was the Niners. Now I'm a Niner.
Prip that down. Put the Cowboys up there, so he
gonna be motivated. And that's in San franc That's just
one of our long time rivals. And you think Seattle's
not gonna be you think Tank go, I'm not gonna
have those guys rapped up and ready to go. I
mean yeah, yes, everybody looking at.
Speaker 7 (29:33):
That with his neck might have it on. It might
be yeah, what's up?
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (29:41):
What you know? I will say that let's take a break.
Speaker 8 (29:44):
I want to know about the what y'all think about
the division when we come back, and more stuff.

Speaker 8 (32:07):
Welcome back to the final segment of Hang with the Boys.
Brought you each and every show by seven eleven. Cowboy
fans get your every day essentials that you're nearest. Seven eleven,
whether your team Big Golf O, Big Golf, Sir, or
Team Slurpee, seven eleven is always open and always ready
for you. Twenty for seven. All right, let's talk about
the division real quick. Every team in our division should
(32:29):
be better this year than they were last year, right.
Speaker 7 (32:33):
They will be.
Speaker 8 (32:35):
Somebody still got to lose the division. So who's the
one that or the two that think they're going to be.
Philly's going to be there, we know that, right. So
then you got the Cowboys, the Giants, and the Commanders,
which all should be remarkably better this year than they
were last year. You still think the Giants are probably
the weakest team, right, but then Washington's gonna have their
(32:57):
quarterback back. Cowboys are going to have a better defense
because they can't get any worse. So who's gonna be
How do y'all feel about the way the divisions.
Speaker 9 (33:07):
Let me say this, man, the Giants, if they can
get together mentally, defensively, they gonna be a beast.
Speaker 7 (33:21):
If they be they had too much talent. They they
skated last year.
Speaker 9 (33:28):
I'm like, when you look at their talent, man per man,
the Giants can make the biggest leap because they've played
together year. They lost the Beast, but they got the
biggest They got the best defense out of the three
non Philadelphia, anybody that's in our division that's not called Philadelphia.
(33:48):
They got that defense. So whoever between Washington, the Dallas Cowboys,
and the Giants, whoever defense I think plays the best,
will be second.
Speaker 7 (34:01):
Because if Philadelphia just can get together.
Speaker 9 (34:04):
As a team, say look him, man, let's put this
pettitness aside.
Speaker 7 (34:08):
That they can run this league.
Speaker 9 (34:10):
They can run the NFL as a whole. If they
can just somebody can man up and say, brothers, that's
quick with with this ignorancy, this this selfishness and player
as a team, they are the first, the top three
in the league. Now, what are the Cowboys defense gonna do?
What is Washington defense gonna do? And what is the Giants?
Because that is gonna be the difference making for me
(34:32):
going into this season.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
Yeah, I think you're doing a lot of great points
on there. Losing losing sexy dexy matters. But you know,
you gained rees who was regarded as one of the best,
you know, players in this in this particular draft, Abdul Carter.
Last year you got Brian Burns. So they got they
got some players. Uh in New York, this this division
(34:58):
untol unto proven otherwise it's Philly. They've won it back
to back years. The first time that's happened in over
twenty some years happened in two thousand and four when
they did it in two thousand and four. So I mean,
it's theirs to lose.
Speaker 7 (35:16):
Man.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
We've been saying that they've been falling apart for the
last two three years, and they just keeping They get
ten to eleven twelve wins in the season and win
the division and go to a super Bowl and go
deep in the playoffs, not you know, not last year,
but the year before. So the Cowboys are the closest.
They're like, it's not Philly, and then the Cowboys it's Philly.
(35:37):
And if we're being honest, and you know, you know
my love for ceed Lamb. If ceede Lamb doesn't have
nineteen drops in that first game of the season last
year when they played Philadelphia, that season might have looked different. Right,
it's Philly and then it's the Cowboys literally nipping at
their heels. You want your defense to play better this year.
(36:00):
We all hope that it will. I do think that
there is a learning curve when you when you change
out that many players, the coach, the scheme, the knowledge,
all of that. You know, he has to trust, learn
to trust y'all. Y'all have to learn to trust him.
And trust don't really happen like you begin to build
the trust in O. T A's in mini camp and
(36:22):
in training camp. But until I get into the fire
with you, until until though live bullets is really out
there flingering around, that's when that that's how you fortify
a bond and fire. And so I think until the
Cowboys defensively get into the fire and they know that
they know that, they know that this defense is what
(36:44):
it is, the calls, the scheme, the what what what
Christian Parker has been saying is ranged true on the battlefield.
That's why I think the second half of the season
should and will look a lot different than the first
have because you just you the time, the energy, the
(37:05):
effort that you normally would need to fortify a defense
like that just don't have it nowadays. Hour and a
half he spent out there in that football fe hour
and a half, no pads on, Gotta walk through all
the time. You know, nobody plays in the preseason anymore.
It only got three games in the preseason, and so
it's gonna take you to go through. And you got
some fire early on. The Giants will be ready to
(37:27):
play you in New York open the night. You know
what you gotta deal with when you gotta deal with Baltimore,
you know what I'm saying. Like, so these things that
you know, you you they have to get they'll get better.
But right now, you know, despite the the inefficiency of
Jalen Hurts, that's still the top, top to bottom. The
Philadelphia Eagles still have the best roster definitely in this
(37:51):
division and maybe playing for player in the league.
Speaker 8 (37:56):
How would y'all handle preseason this year with all these
new pieces?
Speaker 3 (38:00):
Know he gonna say, I think I agree with him on.
Speaker 7 (38:01):
Yeah, you let them play. My thing is just here
last year.
Speaker 9 (38:09):
We're like, oh, man, that's good nat You're Natu're wrong, Okay.
Speaker 7 (38:13):
I'm wrong, I'm wrong.
Speaker 8 (38:14):
That's a nine ten eleven.
Speaker 7 (38:15):
Yeah. Yeah. But then when we missed, when we missed four.
Speaker 9 (38:20):
Out of five offenseve lima in the first seven weeks,
why was they hurt?
Speaker 7 (38:24):
They didn't play in the preseason.
Speaker 9 (38:26):
Oh, but you can get hurt playing in the regular
season and miss just as many games.
Speaker 7 (38:31):
Man play these kids. Let them come together, because this
is what nobody's preaching.
Speaker 9 (38:38):
Jesse just told y'all. These walk throughs ain't gonna get it.
Live bullets is what's gonna prove it. How did they
get these live bullets to get close to it? This man,
if I'm him, I'm not tolerating what I Oh, coach,
I thought I saw this, So I did this. Man
ain't tolerating that. That's gonna get you on the pine.
So you got to get all them idiots out of
(38:58):
the game. Who just they gonna still do what they
want to do when the game start, because you're gonna
have to learn the basic defense. And once you understand
the basic defense with all emotions, who got the switches?
That takes time and it's coming at you one hundred
miles an hour, and it is just it's just not
the same, man, It's just not the same. So that's
(39:18):
why I'm saying, New York, Washington, you better win them. Yeah,
you better win them, because you need to be no
worse than two and two coming out of this thing.
Speaker 3 (39:31):
Yeah, you gotta you gotta play them right. I think
you have.
Speaker 7 (39:36):
You gotta play your starters.
Speaker 9 (39:37):
Right, especially when you got twenty five new defensive players
who you're not gonna play.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
Like, especially defensively, like what I know that Caleb Downs
is the Golden Goose and that's cool. Down gotta play
football like Caleb Downs. Gotta understand if if you're gonna
put all that responsibility on him as a safety, as
a nickel, as a corner, you know slot oh, if
you go do all of that, then you ain't getting
it in walkthroughs. You just the picture isn't as clear
(40:07):
when I don't see it. And fast with consequences, fast
motion with consequences, Yes, that's like how am I gonna
get in, you know, Rashawn Gary into the mix of
these things. Gotta go play them. Donovin az Aroko, I
know who'll be coming off the hip situation, they're probably
gonna slow play that. But Malachi Lawrence, Jayshawn Barham, you know,
(40:30):
Devin Moore, like all these guys. Hey, Savone Revel, what
are you? Are you gonna be a player for us
or not? I need to see it. I need to
know that by the time we get out of three
weeks of preseason, Christian Parker needs to have a much
clearer picture of what every individual is, at least the
first two rotations. You have to I need to know
(40:55):
can de Marvin Overshan handle this? Can can d Winners
handle that? Can you know? Uh, however you want to
do it? Deron Bland, what are you? What are you now?
Two foot injuries on this two injuries on the same foot?
Are you a player? I need to know. You're not
getting that out there? You just aren't. It's that's a
part of what you need. But that's that's not enough
(41:18):
when you were the ninety ninth defense in the in
the league last year. And this goes back to a
part of if you're changing the culture, if you're truly
changing the culture. For a long time, we've had this
Cadillac type approach to well, I've been here for a while,
(41:38):
so I should start, I should play. I should be
on this team. I ain't playing in the preseason, and
so everyone's relax, you know what I mean? Like when
I when I when I look out there and I
see you guys, and not to tease or to like
kind of like, but I told you guys last year.
We're out here and and and and and the uh
(42:00):
than the Star for training camp, and I'm watching a
player who's injured, who's injured, who should be deathly afraid
every single day that he's gonna get cut, has done
nothing to justify him being on a roster spot, playing
around on the camera in front of Stephen Jones, who
(42:26):
don't got no pro bos no all pros, don't have
a large contract, ain't made no plays around here, but
felt comfortable enough to while we're doing a live period,
you holding Alex Alex Lily's camera. Excuse me that that
(42:51):
that shouldn't be. That shouldn't be. If you hurt, you
need to be over there with Brown and company, or
if you hurt, you need to be you need to
be you know how they do it, and this he
doing jail when they turned the pockets inside out. You
should be holding Christian Parker's pocket. I saw Overshown do that.
I saw Overshown while rehabit through his stuff. He was
right there next to his coach getting the information you get.
(43:15):
If for for guys who are not playing in the preseason,
I could tell you how that feels. You felt, you
feel like I made it. I mean that I ain't
playing the preseason and we've watched it. We watched the games,
and you're like, wait, he he not playing in the
preseason then and the second preseason he's not playing. It's
it's it's it's very Cadillac. It's very cruels control, it's
(43:37):
very whitewallish. That is just riding around on Dayton's. You
gotta if that's if that's the coaches that you want,
well then we'll keep being seven nine to one. But
when you got to go out there and saying nobody
is safe, here's your your playing time is not you
ain't grandfather? Then now maybe Quinn Williams probably grandfather there right,
(43:58):
Maybe maybe because the couple, but for the rest of
y'all mount up, it's just.
Speaker 9 (44:06):
You know, you know, and I see you know, we
we all collectively, well, no, we're different.
Speaker 7 (44:11):
A lot of people just give you that excitement. You know,
they stay. They do.
Speaker 9 (44:16):
For the most part, people do a great job of
selling the cowboys. And that's that's all of us collectively
as a medium. We we got the butt sitting them.
Oh yeah, but no, no, I'm with Jesse. I'm with
Jess man, do what got to be done to make
(44:37):
yourself better. You know, if I had to be that
guy there running around wide open and coach saying, hey, Nate,
snow man, snow down, I'm trying to set the temple
coach like Jesse used to do, make let the coach
tell you to slow down, not one time, but a
couple of times, don't you You go out there?
Speaker 7 (44:59):
Wow man, Oh fourth round pick? I'm good.
Speaker 3 (45:03):
Yeah, I see how he acting. You know, first, you
were seven nine and one. Last year you were seven
nine and one. You had the worst defense. Not just
last year, which would have made it a historically bad defense,
you had one of the worst defense in the history
of the National Football League. How do you change the approach?
(45:27):
Can't be if you're doing anything like you did last year,
you're wrong, in my opinion. In my opinion, if your
approach to anything that you did last year is being
adopted this year.
Speaker 6 (45:38):
You're wrong.
Speaker 3 (45:41):
God should fear they should. If your name is not
Caleb Downs Quinn Williams, that might be it. Defensively, you
should fear. You should fear that today might be my
last day.
Speaker 9 (46:00):
Anything that looks like a training, a training, you know, table,
a massage from one hundred dods away from the football field.
Speaker 7 (46:12):
Yeah, I'm serious, I'm sing.
Speaker 9 (46:13):
Anything that you think you can lay down on should
be one hundred yards away from the football field, because.
Speaker 7 (46:20):
That right there was so bad last year. That was sad.
Speaker 9 (46:24):
I was like, I'm looking and and the young, the
young got to rehab them.
Speaker 7 (46:32):
Britt he was burning. He's like he I look at him,
he look at me.
Speaker 9 (46:38):
You know, you know, I knew what was going on
his head. I'm like, he ain't feeling this. Then you
come out there bad for it. The next dude come
out there bad for it and late.
Speaker 3 (46:50):
They had to be a change of culture for real.
Speaker 8 (46:52):
Yeah, all right, fellas good stuff, same time, same place
next week. Hopefully Kurd will be back with us, Jesse Nate,
I'll be good seeing ya hurt.
Speaker 7 (47:00):
Don't worry.
Speaker 9 (47:01):
Don't y'all worry about five weeks and none, just a
good night of drinking with takes.
Speaker 7 (47:05):
Yeah all that.
Speaker 8 (47:08):
Chris stanks for keeping us on the air, John States
for keeping him company. We'll be back next week, same time,
same place.
Speaker 3 (47:13):
We all.
Speaker 1 (47:14):
This has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and
