After many days at Mount Sinai, Israel follows God’s cloud toward the Promised Land. Twelve spies explore Canaan and return with amazing fruit and a glowing report about the rich land, but most are afraid of the giants and walled cities. Joshua and Caleb urge everyone to trust God’s promise, yet the people complain. God forgives them, but that unbelieving generation must wander for forty years, and only Joshua and Caleb will enter the land. A powerful reminder to choose faith over fear and believe what God has said.

Talk about it:

  • What good things did the spies see in Canaan?
  • Why were most of the spies afraid, and how were Joshua and Caleb different?
  • What does it mean to trust God when something feels big and scary?
  • One way you can choose faith over fear this week?
