Sverige har länge varit känt för demokrati och öppenhet. Men idag får vi internationell kritik för hemlighetsmakeriet bakom politiska beslut. Förändringar som angår oss alla drivs igenom utan offentlig debatt, helt enkelt eftersom påverkan sker i tysthet.
I boken beskrivs hur dolda kampanjer påverkar politiken och hela samhällsutvecklingen. Inom områden som miljö, sjukvård, skola, energi och EU. Utan förståelse för detta är det nästintill omöjligt att se mekanismerna bakom politiska beslut, eller avsaknad av beslut. Det finns också risker med hemlig påverkan. Att det urholkar förtroendet för demokratin och banar väg för populismen.
Några av frågorna som diskuteras i programmet är: Hur fungerar politisk påverkan genom public affairs? Vad finns det för regleringar kring detta i Sverige? Vad handlar hemlig påverkan om och på vilka sätt är det ett problem? Vilka organisationer är det som sysslar med hemlig påverkan och hur går de tillväga? Och varför regleras eller stoppas inte det här från politiskt håll?
