Growing up in suburban Georgia, Kat Merryfield took early influence from her entrepreneurial father and nurturing mother. Personality traits of studiousness, curiosity, and drive came to accompany her introverted tendencies. As a young Mother with a sick child, the accepted western therapy for her daughter left her at a disadvantage. Seeking out alternatives, a natural option presented a cure. Enlightened by that experience, Kat focused on Natural Medicine for her formal education. She later turned to Natural medicine herself in her fight with Cancer, for her husband to help with PTSD, and eventually friends in treating other conditions. Through a systematic approach, Kat developed formulations that provided relief to specific ailments; those formulations are the basis for Kat's Natural's Products today. So how does a Homesteader, Cancer Survivor, and Mother of 4 turn a side project, sold at their home farm stand, into a Multi-Million dollar business in just a few years? Please enjoy the Founder's Journey of Kat Merryfield, of Kat's Naturals. Dr. Death

Dr. Death

We’re at our most vulnerable when we go to our doctors. We trust the person at the other end of that scalpel. We trust the hospital. We trust the system. Christopher Duntsch was a neurosurgeon who radiated confidence. He claimed he was the best in Dallas. If you had back pain, and had tried everything else, Dr. Duntsch could give you the spine surgery that would take your pain away. But soon his patients started to experience complications, and the system failed to protect them. Which begs the question: who - or what - is that system meant to protect? From Wondery, the network behind the hit podcast Dirty John, DR. DEATH is a story about a charming surgeon, 33 patients and a spineless system. Reported and hosted by Laura Beil.
