Den här boken handlar om fåglar, men den handlar framförallt om fågelskådning. Med kombinationen av att vara professionell ornitolog och aktiv fågelskådare, beskriver han vad som gör fåglar så fascinerande. Anders har under sin forskarkarriär haft ett särskilt intresse för hur fåglar tänker och minns. Och i boken berättar han bl.a. om hur vissa arter har mycket avancerade hjärnor och imponerande minnesförmåga. Vi får också veta varför de flesta fåglar kan flyga men inte alla, och hur det står till med de arter som hotas av utrotning.
