Konuğum bir ressam, Mehmet Sinan Kuran. O çocukluğundan beri resim yapan, bugün sergiler açan, eserleri pek çok koleksiyonerde olan bir sanatçı. Ancak 45 yaşına kadar bu böyle değildi. Her zaman resim yapıyor olsa da yaptığı işler hep değişti. Varlıklı bir ailenin çocuğu olarak büyüdü ancak, 80'lerdeki banker krizlerinin ardından babasının batışı ve anne-babasının ölümünün ardından hayat şartlarının değişimiyle, ağırlı olarak Karaköy Perşembe Pazarı'nda çalıştı. Getir götür işlerinden naylon faturacılığa, temizlik ya da güvenlik işlerinden puro ve içki satıcılığına pek çok iş yaptı. 45 yaşına geldiğinde ise aşık olduğu ve "Senin ressamlık dışında bir iş yapman abesle iştigal" diyen kadın sayesinde 'resmen' ressam olan Kuran ile o yıllarından sanata, çocuklardan genç sanatçılara pek çok konuda konuştuk.
