In de Keniaanse hoofdstad Nairobi vechten fietsers een barre strijd om hun bestaansrecht. Want hoewel in Nairobi dagelijks zo’n 55.000 fietsritten worden gemaakt – iets meer dan 1 procent van alle verplaatsingen – blijft de realiteit voor fietsers weerbarstig. De zeldzame fietspaden houden abrupt op, worden slecht onderhouden of stap voor stap gekoloniseerd door auto’s, motorfietsen en zelfs kraamverkopers. Fietsersclub Critical Mass probeert dat beeld te kantelen.
