Aldrig! Det var Göran Åkerströms första tanke när han rekommenderades att söka jobbet som FEI:s chefsveterinär. I Ridsportpodden berättar han vad som fick honom att ändra sig.
Göran Åkerström delar också med sig av sin historia, som ledde hela vägen till FEI:s huvudkontor i Lausanne.
Etiska träningsmetoder
Nu är han en portalgestalt i arbetet med att göra verkstad av de 37 punkterna i FEI:s aktionsplan för hästvälfärd, och första ämnet på agendan handlar om etiska träningsmetoder. En rad tunga namn inom global ridsport finns med i arbetet, däribland två svenskar.
Göran Åkerström berättar hur han ser på framtiden för gramantyglar, liksom om hur han har noterat hur ryttare ger akt på varandra och säger ifrån när en ryttare går över gränsen.
- Om vi alla blir "guardians" och tar det ansvaret har vi kommit oerhört långt, säger han i samtalet med Anna Nyberg i Ridsportpodden.
