En provkarta med citat ur den som skrockfullt kallas Den skotska pjäsen, för att det sägs bringa olycka att säga ut pjäsens riktiga titel. Vi hör bland annat ett parti ur Macbeth – kärlekshistorien från 2011 i Åsa Kalmérs regi med Kristoffer Kamiyasu, och från 1934, ett restaurerat och därför något ljudförvrängt stycke ur scenen där Lady Macbeth försöker tvätta bort det inbillade blodet från sina händer. I mörkt strålande gestaltning av Pauline Brunius, skådespelare, regissör och Dramatens första kvinnliga chef. Däremot har vi inte hittat något ljud från Radioteaterns första uppsättning från 1927 i regi av Olof Molander med Anders de Wahl i huvudrollen. På den tiden sändes nästan allting direkt och försvann ut i etern. Ett program av Marie Wennersten.
