Maybe you should do some more walk when they can
drop these quadruple doubles.

Speaker 10 (02:24):
I'm not going that far. I'm keeping it right.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
I hate patting myself on the back like like I

Speaker 10 (02:32):

Speaker 11 (02:52):
You know.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
So, as far as I know, Josh said, sitting here,
Josh wrote his name in on the ballot, like right
next to talking Cowboys, like and Josh.

Speaker 8 (03:02):
I don't know how legitimate the list is because they
didn't name Tommy rish as like the host of.

Speaker 10 (03:13):
So I don't know. I don't know how legitimate the
list is.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
No, it's just pretty legitimate, is it?

Speaker 10 (03:17):
Is it a chat GYBC list?

Speaker 1 (03:19):
It probably not?

Speaker 5 (03:21):
Other this guy stacks No, I love, I love, I
love fun to be back in the building.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
How's everybody doing?

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Swell?

Speaker 4 (03:29):
Yeah? You ready for next week? NFL Draft time? Oh yeah,
it's coming up. It is coming up, Kyle's favorite time
of year.

Speaker 10 (03:37):
It's like Christmas, you get two Christmases a year.

Speaker 7 (03:41):
You had the opportunity, while working with the Cowboys to
to cover two Cowboys picks on opening night?

Speaker 4 (03:48):
When does that ever happen?

Speaker 12 (03:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (03:50):
For you a lot never Oh yeah, so the first
it's the first first time they've had multiple first round picks, uh,
at the same time and in the same drive since
what two thousand and eight was the last time that
that happened, So it's been a little bit of time
since since they've been able to do that. So the
fact that you're gonna get to pick twice in the
first round and or go and get you a dude

(04:12):
inside the top ten is going to be just really exciting.
And we're gonna go through some mock drafts today. Some
of them do include trades. Some of them don't include trades,
which I think will be interesting. What are you doing there?
Oh yeah, I can't Now, I can't grab this, Kyle,
you can grab that.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
What is this?

Speaker 4 (04:27):
That is the Dallas Cowboys Star Magazine Draft Guide?

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Will this be helpful on draft nights? It's super helpful.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
It's actually available now online as well as in Cowboys
Pro shops and then regional retail outlets like Walmart, Albertson's, Walgreens,
et cetera. You've got a ton of info for myself,
Tommy Yarish and the rest of the Dallas Cowboys dot Com.

Speaker 10 (04:47):
Crew, maybe Callum or two from Your Boys.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
From Your Boys sign.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
Is standing assessments from Kyle, Tommy, Kurt Daniels.

Speaker 8 (04:59):
Yeah, the work that we have to do on the
back end for the website. I genuinely do hate Kyle
for a couple of weeks out of the year.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
Because it's all just like twenty five thousand words. You
have to like copy and paste to certain situations.

Speaker 8 (05:13):
And then I think, well, Kyle actually had to do
all of this, I guess sort of copy and cheater.

Speaker 10 (05:19):
I don't have to make modules Kyle a lot.

Speaker 8 (05:20):
Of film, No, congratulations, it's it's always a really impressive
feat that you do every singleation situation.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
This is probably my favorite cover we've ever had to. Like,
it's just a good looking, good looking, uh, just because
of the colors in the way that like everybody's kind
of SITUATD I think it's just a good looking cover.
And I believe we're going to nail the first round
pick on this. Okay, I think the first round pick
is on the cover. I would agree with you, but
there's an organ duc in miss Sorry, yeah, I did
that specifically for you.

Speaker 10 (05:48):
One of two or are you one of two? I don't.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
Are you making a bold stage? Yeah, I don't think
we'll get two guys. I think we're gonna get one
guy on this list, which I think would be great.
If you get one of these guys on the list,
I'm ecstatic.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
I feel great not having a single dog on here.
You think, what's what probability?

Speaker 12 (06:05):
Right?

Speaker 4 (06:05):
Percentage? J Allen, I had to take them on.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
What's your confidence level that you'll get one of these
guys on this cover?

Speaker 4 (06:11):
Pretty high? Like, do you near me a percentage?

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Give me a percentage?

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Eighty five percent? I was going to say eighty we're
right there, Yeah, eighty five percent that we get one
of those percentage. And the five guys on the front
for those that are our audio listeners is Caleb Downs,
Minsorda Lane, Sonny Styles, Dylan Fieneman, Ruben Bang Junior, and
David Bailey. Those are the six my current.

Speaker 10 (06:35):
Percentage now, because there was one guy I was really looking.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Forward to, we'll talk about that.

Speaker 10 (06:41):
Yeah, we we got to talk about them at.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
Length, but uh length, yes, exactly one? Uh maybe like
twenty five percent? Wow, you're not confident that we're going
to get any of those?

Speaker 1 (06:55):
We'll see six players, right, well, then you better bring
me a Jacob Rodriguez.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
What are we picking thirty six?

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Thirty?

Speaker 6 (07:02):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Wow? That what we're doing? Is it because of his mustache?

Speaker 4 (07:07):
You necessarily mean I have a second round great on him. Okay,
So like he should go in the back half of
the first I talked to people in the building. They
don't feel as highly as we do.

Speaker 5 (07:17):
Apparently because I'm with him, I think he's the second
round game play later first but apparently arm length and
miss tackles were a problem.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Can't miss tackles at that position? Well, part of and
here's my kind of your job. My argument is he
missed tackles because he was trying to punch the football
out and he had what nine forced fumbles or what
the seven forced fumbles? Like I would I would give
up seven force fumbles and a couple of miss tackles
here and there we're going to get the football back.
But I still don't think he's a first round player.
He should go in the back half of the first.

(07:46):
But I have him as a second early player because
I only have seventeen first round.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
And abouts and purposes. The back end of the first
round is not hypothetically but theoretically it is the early second.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
Round, early second yeah part of it, but there from
Josh yeah, the doubts.

Speaker 8 (08:03):
So there's a guy on here that I was really
looking forward to, and it's just well, doesn't seem like
that's gonna pan out.

Speaker 5 (08:07):
It still my, It's still my. That'll get into some
news in that news and note. So we got two
pieces of news and notes. No transactions for the Cowboys
yet as we approach the draft. Who would still like to,
obviously as a collective to see them make some kind
of moviet linebacker. We'll see if they do going into
the draft, but nothing quite yet. But a safety turned
linebacker turned back to safety found himself in hot water

(08:31):
over this past weekend in Prosper Texas. Safety Marquise Bell
was arrested in Prosper, Texas on Friday, April tenth. He's
been charged with possession of a controlled substance and marijuana
as per Collin County jail records. To be more specific,
the possession of the controlled substance is a felony charge
that he's facing. If you're wondering what the controlled substance was,

(08:52):
it was a THC electronic cigarette, which is in fact,
a felony in Texas.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
No matter how you feel about it. I have my
feelings about it, doesn't matter.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
The law is the law, and you know he got
caught with it, so they're charging them with it and
then under two ounces of marijuana, which is a Class
B misdemeanor. So Marquise Bell finds himself in some legal
issues he's going to have to sort out, and of
course that means he's going to have to sort it
out with the NFL Front Office as well as far
as potential suspension. Obviously, they have not opened a probe

(09:22):
into it quite yet, but we do know that it
is inevitable they will open the probe and if they
find any wrongdoing, then they will levy a suspension that
Marquise can then appeal. So we'll just have to let
this process play itself out as will be all with
that from outside the building. Not great news, but a
draft prospect that is very high on the Cowboys and
other NFL teams is board as well.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
It is one Ruben Baine.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
I am so sorry Josh Rubin Bain out of the
University of Miami. News has leaked over the past weekend
that he was involved in a fatal car accident in
which one of his four passengers suffered serious injury due
to the accident, was rushed to a trauma center, fell
into a coma, and ultimately lost their life, and they

(10:07):
passed away. Reading from the police report here in front
of me, the police report states that quote unquote, Ban
operated his vehicle in a careless or negligent manner. Also
states that it was eventually dismissed the charges were but
nonetheless he was involved. That news happened in twenty twenty four.
It's now re emerging just ahead of the draft. Will

(10:30):
that cause ruben Bain's draft stock to plummet or not?
We will find out when Day one gets underway at
in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
From an NFL side of things, first off, of course,
any time a tragic accident happens like this, sar condolences
to the family and whatever happened there is between them
and all of that. We can only talk about it
from a football side, correct, And one of the football
sides is that this is not new to the NFL
teams apparently, and we started getting word about this time

(11:01):
last week that this could be a storyline. The media
didn't have hold of it until the past weekends this weekend,
and teams have had a hold on it for months,
and I have a good authority that Dallas did know
about it, so they've known, teams have known. It's been

(11:21):
a thought process all the way through, and yet he's
still highly regarded at the top of boards. There are
some teams I do have an also good authority, that
have him outside of the top one hundred. There are
other teams that don't feel as strongly about this incident
and don't feel as if he acted in a negligent

(11:43):
manner enough to where it should punish his draft stocks.
So it depends on the franchise, It depends on the situation.
It depends on a lot of things. And that's where Patrick,
you just said, We're going to see on draft nights
see just how much this affects ruben Bain from a
Dallas standpoint. I don't think it affects it a ton.

(12:03):
I really don't, and I don't know if it does
for the majority of NFL teams. It just kind of
depends on who is looking at what in the situation.
It doesn't The family released a statement. They were very
significant in the fact that they said they wish the
best for Ruben. It was a result of a tragic accident,
and a lot of things kind of played factors into it.

(12:24):
But based on what I've had conversation wise in the
building and what I've found out around this situation since
kind of learning about it last week, it sounds like
everything is as is for Ruben Bain in his draft process.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
It just there's just no way to know, no way
to know because on one note, and I hear everything
Kyle is saying, and Kyle is in fact, I know
you're getting it from credible sources inside the building and
around the league as well. But I mean, you look
at at Lyell Collins situation back whenning you saw Lyle
Collins fail to the ranks of the undrafted, and then
you saw with help me out gas mask, yeahs lre

(13:02):
me tons so and you saw that news drop within
twenty four hours of the draft.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
It was a little less now, but that was draft nights.

Speaker 5 (13:11):
My point being, you just you just never know how
this all plays out. So we hear what you know,
the credible sources are saying, but you know, we'll see
when when teams start going on the clock.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
I think the point to that. Sorry to interact, but
the point to that is when it becomes draft Knight
and you've got two names, you're gonna pick one or
the other. It's this guy or that guy. And Ruby
Bain is an incredible player. He's top five player on
my board across the board if but when you have
that in the back of your head, whether you feel

(13:41):
good about it or not, it might get to the
point where these teams in the top ten are looking
at Rubin Bay and saying, hey, I just can't value
you over sunny styles. I can't value you over a
minsorta Lane or a David Bailey or some of these
other players defensive players that these teams might be searching.
So there might be a slide. Do I think it's

(14:03):
outside of the top one hundred, outside of the top fifteen,
outside of the top twelve, I don't. I don't think
he gets past twelve.

Speaker 8 (14:11):
I think the clarifyer here or just I when in
terms of how teams feel about him. Now, the word
dismissed was obviously the biggest part of that new that
report because none of that he's out of like charges
that the law isn't necessarily involved in this anymore, it

(14:31):
should be part for the course because the case is dismissed.
But of course that just comes with a baggage of
picking a guy like that, and you know, if you
think you can sort of turn that around or if
that was just a one scenario situation and the total
encompassing player that he is. So I mean, I assuming
that it's kind of part for the course for him.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
Now, I think that you struck a very valuable chord there.

Speaker 5 (14:53):
I think what teams are going to want to see
as they're interviewing Ruby Bain and they're putting him through
the paces, they want to make sure that this was
a one off. They want to talk to him about
it and see, you know, where's his mindset coming out
of that, And then of course they're going to do
their due diligence and see has there been other off
the field issues that have not been publicized just yet
because teams have their.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Way out these things.

Speaker 5 (15:13):
So I believe if it's a one off and he's
remorseful and he's not had any additional issues that even
hint toward additional red flags off the field, I believe
what Kyle is saying is correct. I believe that his
draftstock will still be where it was before the news broken.
Like you said, the case being dismissed also matters greatly.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
As yeah, because remember Lyle Collins, since we was still
that was still an investigation that was happening, and legal
action can still be taken after the cases are dismissed,
and when he signs an NFL contract that might pop
back up again. It very well could.

Speaker 11 (15:49):
Ye.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
However, in terms of criminal court and legal action that
is happening. In terms of his availability for NFL franchises,
that's in the books apparently.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
Yeah, lots of intrigue around that. It feels like it
happens every year, Isaiah. Back in your draft year, do
you remember this happening to anybody? Just these stories, not
that specifically, but stories that affect draft stock and things of.

Speaker 7 (16:12):
The spars character and personality. Yeah, nothing like this. I mean,
this is a it's a pretty big deal.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
So since you bring up character and personalities, how big
of a part of the process was that for you
going into it? Because these teams are going to invest
millions and millions of dollars into these players, And this
is a point I've tried to get across to a
lot of the tape junkies, as I like to call
it on the Draft Show. Everybody loves to watch tape,
and that's a huge part of it. But the evaluation

(16:41):
process is more than that. How much was it for
you back in the day, through the draft process when
teams were trying to figure out your character?

Speaker 7 (16:49):
Yeah, I mean I didn't have any character issues, But
I think for me it was the injury side of things. Sure,
so I was I didn't even know what thirty visits were.
I didn't come to know that until I started working here.
I just knew that I had visits.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
That I had to go make.

Speaker 7 (17:05):
People made you go places, and yeah, seriously, I mean
I truly did not. I was not made aware of
this thirty visit thing until a handful of years ago.
But I guess my thirty visits that I had were Jacksonville, Miami,
Saint Louis at the time in Dallas, those were my
thirty visits. I remember those conversations. I remember those trips.

(17:28):
I asked a lot of questions. I remember sitting down
with Jerry Jones himself face to face. But in terms
of my character, I didn't have any of those I
think the character questions that we had and around revolving
around our draft was around Dwayne Bow and JaMarcus Russell.
Those were the two main guys I guess that had
question marks. But I mean something like this, man, like,

(17:49):
this is heavy, this is it's not something that I
know the word dismiss that you can't. I don't know
how you can dismiss. I don't have the details to
have an opinion on it. So I mean, let me
say you that, But I don't know how how something
so severe can just be Yeah.

Speaker 10 (18:04):
From a legal standpoint, I'm not saying no.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
No, no, no, no, no statue just to turn talking
about black and white paper, yeah yeah, yeah.

Speaker 7 (18:10):
No no no, I'm just talking about like the word
around because I also too have heard from other organizations
out They're like, yeah, not worried about it.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
I'm like, this is kind of major.

Speaker 7 (18:19):
Something major happened, right, So, I mean, I'm sure they're
doing all of their homework or have done their homework.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
I have.

Speaker 7 (18:25):
I don't understand how something like that can go unbother
or unmentioned for two years, you know, or whatever. Whenever
it took place in twenty four at least one and
a half years. I don't know how something could be
submerged for that long and an information whila, because all
of a sudden comes out to your point. You know,
families would do what they need to do to position
themselves and be quiet and play the game until somebody

(18:46):
has a pocket full of money to go after.

Speaker 11 (18:47):
Right.

Speaker 7 (18:48):
So it's true, that's that, that is strategy that some
families and some individuals choose to take. And I wouldn't
put it past I don't know that family, but I
wouldn't put that out the out the window and out
the window either in terms of things that could could happen.
So those are things that organizations are going to have
to consider. I'm sure that he's a good young man.
I'm sure I'm hopeful that that was a one, you know,

(19:10):
accident type of deal, and unfortunately it had dire consequences
for that individual and that family. But these teams do
they put a lot of money into research.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
I say this, and that's what I mean.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
I don't think it's entirely out of the frame of
thought that it would be submerged for this long. Because
keep in mind, in twenty twenty four, although ruben Bang
was starting to turn that corner. He didn't have thirty
two NFL teams taking him through a pre draft screening process,
and then you, of all people, you know exactly what
that entails, even more so nowadays. And then because of

(19:41):
the prevalence of like social media and things like that,
and what would players have to go thaughs So until
teams commit to this might be the pick, right, they're
not in twenty twenty four. They're not digging in like
they are in twenty twenty six. So that's probably why
it kind of stayed under the radar. And then it
started to come up well ahead of the media finding out.
And then you know, as the teams find out, you

(20:01):
have individuals inside of the team who speak with the
media and then they're like hey, and then the media
starts digging.

Speaker 7 (20:07):
And then we went and just sort of the fans
at home and our family understand these organizations, especially when
you're talking about top you know, the top picks. I
can give you guys an example, at least on the
NBA side, when I was coming get getting ready to
come out. At the same time, my boy Brandon Roy
was coming out of the draft. He was going to
be a top pick in the draft, and I remember

(20:28):
a football officers saying, Hey, Isaiah, you know, we have
some investigators and some guys that wanted to want.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
To talk to you.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
And I'm like, what the heck happened? Who worked to
you know?

Speaker 7 (20:37):
And they're like, no, So I when had the meeting
and it was an individual that was that was a
p I who was hired to interview me about brand
and Roy. And they were asking me all the questions
about Brandon Roy. Now, mind you, I was his teammate
from the time we were like six years old until
all the way through Heigh, you knew at all I
knew b Roy, right, So just to let you know,

(20:59):
they went not only sure, they went through his family.
I'm sure they went through his coaches, they went through
his teachers, and they got all the way to me
where a PI sat down with me, a former teammate
and a friend, longtime friend who was they were interviewing
me to get insight about somebody that there they were
about to spend a lot of money on it. So
that is the level in the depth at which teams
go when they're going to invest this type of capital

(21:20):
into an individual.

Speaker 5 (21:20):
They don't want to be surprised and if it can
come out, If it can be found out, it'll be
found out.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
That doesn't always mean it'll come out, but teams will
find out.

Speaker 4 (21:28):
Well, that's why this took so long to hit the
media airwaves. They were asking about this in the fall. Yeah,
like they were asking about this in past years, and
the media is still never really picked it up until
two weeks before the NFL drafts. So things can change
just like that. See, with that being said, we're going
to talk about some mock drafts and some that have

(21:49):
already hit the media waves, but we're also going to

To Talking Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
Back here on Talking Cowboys. This segment is brought to
you by invisil Line, the official smile of the Dallas Cowboys.
Back with Patrick nosis Walker, Josh Rodriguez, I say a
stand back, does I Chris Beam in the back of
Kyle yeomans it's time now to talk to Cowboys Nation.
The question today, what are you doing with picks twelve?

Speaker 1 (24:47):
What do you do?

Speaker 4 (24:49):
And twenty? Twelve and twenty? Are you trading them? Are
you picking? And who are you picking? Or where are
you trading?

Speaker 1 (24:55):
Picking?

Speaker 4 (24:55):
A look at Kyle, Yeah, I guess so. First caller
on the line almost them. If there's anybody that's gonna
tell us what's gonna happen with twelve and twenty, it's
this man. It is Nebby from Spring, Maryland. What's going
on now?

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Nibs?

Speaker 11 (25:11):
Hi, guys, thank you so much for taking my call.
And the first thing I want to do is apologized
to my man Josh Rodriguez before bringing up the Eagles

(25:33):
winning the Super Bowl all those years ago. The only
thing I was trying to do was say back, going
from seven and nine to Super Bowl champions is possible

(25:55):
because it's been done before.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Don't you back down on nep you stand ten toes
on it. Don't you apologize?

Speaker 10 (26:01):
You remain unforgiven, sir, say how damn?

Speaker 11 (26:10):
Also, Patrick Nosey Walker, I wish you a speedy, full
recovering my man. And before I go, I just want

(26:34):
to say, with pigs twelve and twenty, I am staying put.
And for the first pig, I'm taking the corner.

Speaker 6 (26:57):
From from.

Speaker 11 (27:04):
UH from from from from from Louisiana State UH University.
And for the second pick, I am taking a a

(27:29):
linebacker linebacker, although I don't know who specifically. Uh, take care.
Thank you so much for being patient with me. Uh uh,
I have a great week. Uh. I love you guys,

(27:55):
Go Cowboys. Bye.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
I saw Josh you you weren't going to forgive him,
and then he said what he said about, you know,
sticking and picking.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
And all of a sudden, and I mean all of
a sudden, he did. They gave him.

Speaker 8 (28:10):
He's kind of on my side as well last week
when we were talking about cornerback versus defensive end and
then make sure make sure you got to get a
linebacker and maybe stick and pick.

Speaker 10 (28:18):
And I don't know, buddy, that Eagles thing.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
I thought it was a great point when he made it.
I think it's a great point still today. And he
was just trying to will Dallas to a super Bowl,
that's all.

Speaker 10 (28:30):
But don't bring up that name.

Speaker 5 (28:32):
Friend hold On shouts out to Alan, asked what happened
to me?

Speaker 1 (28:37):
And then so.

Speaker 5 (28:40):
Patrick got crossed up by Dick. Stop it, oh, stop it,
stop it. I was at a sporting event. I was
getting my full blown all pro status on. I stepped
wrong and a divot in the field that I did see,
o's a divot.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
It tore my ankle.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
It was a bad playing surface.

Speaker 5 (29:02):
It was the ankle held and the knee did not
completely blew out my pateller tendons. So what you can't
see is behind me. I have a medical brace from
high high all the way down to my ankle. Cannot
bend my knee. So I had it surgically repaired. So
that's what's going.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
But we're staying up. I was just showing you the crutches.
I was about to say, don't.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
Say right here, give you guys crutches.

Speaker 7 (29:26):
Of what he just said there, that miss means that
he doesn't have to raise timmy yards this this offseason.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
That's all he was trying to thaw.

Speaker 10 (29:32):
He probably could still be yards.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
I could still be rolling.

Speaker 5 (29:38):
So thanks for the well wishes from nibs, Thanks for
the love from the family. I am pushing through I
am on ir right now, but I am working hard
in rehab to try not to start training camp on
the pup list, So stay tuned.

Speaker 4 (29:50):
How how do you feel about what he said with
twelve and twenty taking I like it.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
I want my damn oh edge.

Speaker 4 (30:03):
I will say I will say it just just based
on just based on what Nebby said. There the linebacker position,
you're probably able to find a starter at twenty. You
may not find a starter at ninety two. You can
find yourself a possible starter slash rotational edge at ninety two,

(30:26):
easier than you're gonna find a starting linebacker. So about
corner corner, you kind of need to pick twelve or twenty.
You can find a good corner at ninety.

Speaker 8 (30:35):
Two between easy and gary. You don't feel like that
it's good enough? Sorry, I don't want to. I don't
want to just throw around that term. But do you
think with a solid secondary linebackers in place, do you
think that's an enough excuse my language, enough to get
you by.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
I hate that word. It has been heard a I
don't want to hear it. No, That's why I love
what Kyle said.

Speaker 8 (31:00):
You were the worst defense in the league last years,
and you're telling me that's not an upgrade over what
you're getting.

Speaker 11 (31:06):
Enough.

Speaker 10 (31:07):
Listen, we're talking middle of the pack here, guys.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
It's it's not hard to upgrade over rock Bottom. Just
bring it. It's not hard to upgrade over rock Bottom.

Speaker 5 (31:16):
That's why I love what Kyle said on Thursday show
when he said, you gotta pay.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
The play right, scare it money, don't make money fair.

Speaker 5 (31:23):
That's what I'm saying. And being good enough ain't enough.
I need my edge so that those linebackers can roll
more freely, and especially the defensive back so they can
play more freely, and elite pass rush and interior defensive line.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
You have the interior guy.

Speaker 5 (31:42):
Those guys an elite defensive line and pass rush makes
everything behind them better. Now, the truth can be said
in the end verse. But the guys that you have
back there, and I know you agree, but you're also
going to agree the second part of this. The guys
that you have back there better be all pros or
at least close to it. If they're going to flip
that equation, it can be flipped. But your corner safeties

(32:03):
and linebackers.

Speaker 4 (32:04):
Better be the and available. Yeah, and available and.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
Available so agreed, right, I was gonna make that point.

Speaker 7 (32:11):
Yeah, the having a defensive front that could get up
in a quarterback makes your makes your secondary better. Having
a secondary that can get after receivers make your defensive
front better.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
So that's what he means by the inverse.

Speaker 7 (32:24):
However, you have to take into account where mister k
y a k A, mister draft has just stated that
the cornerback has the least amount of depth out of
those three position groups.

Speaker 4 (32:34):
Linebacker would have lines, but corners corner has last depth.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
In that linebacker Corner then D line right d E.

Speaker 4 (32:42):
In these like in like lack of debt lack of
depth like linebacker linebacker has lack of depth.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
Then you've corner corner and then and then in terms
of what you need, there are.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
Good linebackers at ninety two, but I don't know if
they're gonna be ready year one starters. That's what you need.

Speaker 10 (32:57):
Yeah, and you need that.

Speaker 4 (32:58):
I just need that. Now at corner, you need a
guy who can rotate and play nickel or be a
boundary that can push you inside or whatever it may.

Speaker 7 (33:07):
Be based upon, but based upon if you with the
two picks that you have in the first need twelve
and twenty. If you have twelve and twenty, but you
have three glaring positional needs.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
Right.

Speaker 7 (33:20):
Of those three glaring positional needs, two of them have
a lack have the least amount of depth. Right, So
if there is going to be an odd man out,
it would be the defensive imposition based upon what you
have and based upon what you need.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
Correct.

Speaker 10 (33:35):
I agree, all right, that's where I'm at.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
I like your pix.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
Nip one more caller, and then we've got to get
into our mock drafts. This are actually two more callers.
Greg in Columbus, Ohio, you're.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
On top of.

Speaker 12 (33:48):
Greg.

Speaker 6 (33:49):
Hey, guys, hey, I was gonna we can get some
more competition.

Speaker 9 (33:53):
That okay, because I mean the first round.

Speaker 6 (34:03):
Is gonna be half Buckeyes, so I mean, what's what's
the deal here. But as far as you're twelfth and twentia,
I would.

Speaker 9 (34:13):
I would do like how they do with that guy
who went to Green Bay, moved back.

Speaker 6 (34:20):
A couple of spots, pick up a draft pick, and
then then say that twelfth or fourteen, take the best.

Speaker 9 (34:27):
Canderdback that kiss.

Speaker 6 (34:30):
This is a passing league, and and with the tunius
I would.

Speaker 9 (34:35):
Try to do the same thing, move back a couple.

Speaker 6 (34:37):
Of spots and and just take the best linebacker or
defensive end that's that's available, and then create a couple
more draft picks and make that Parson strade even better.

Speaker 4 (34:52):
Thank you, I appreciate you, Greg and Columbus. Good idea
on the trade back scenario.

Speaker 10 (34:57):
I really like that idea.

Speaker 8 (34:58):
Is but is there a part between twelve and twenty
that you can reliably trade with and also gets you
like a third rounder at least to kind of get
you back in that conversation somewhere between you know, twenty
and ninety two.

Speaker 4 (35:10):
Right, so there's a couple of teams that you might
be able to talk with. The Vikings maybe want to
go up and get Dylan Thieneman before he kind of
rolls into like possible territory. He's very much so been
like a Vikings target the thought process though, and I
don't disagree with the way he said it. Don't get

(35:30):
the best corner, best linebacker, besha ed rusher that's available
at those two spots. The only problem for me is
when evaluating these players, you're looking at the value of
some of the top players in the draft. There's a
significant drop off at corner behind Jermal McCoy and and
sword a lane. There's a gap until the next guys,
So if you trade back from twelve, you're probably not

(35:51):
gonna get one of the top two guys. You're gonna
get one of the second tier corners. Still the best
one available, but it's probably a second tier corner. Same
thing can be said for edge rusher. If you got
Ruben Bain or David Bailey, those are the or RVL Reese,
those are the high end edge rushers. There's a significant gap.
Still some really good guys in the mix there at
the second level, but it's a second tier of edge rusher.

(36:13):
So if you're at twelve, one of those guys could
fall to you. If they don't, maybe you trade back,
and then the same thing can be said for linebacker
sunny styles and then it's a drop off and then
it's everybody else. I mean, CJ. Allen is one of
my favorite guys in the draft. Apparently there's a medical
red flag there the teams are checking up on, so
we'll see what happens on draft weekend, whether he's available
or non for certain teams. I think exactly. I think

(36:34):
he's a good player. And I think he'll be fine,
But I don't know the medicals. I don't know the
ex of it. So's that's where the conundrum lies with
Dallas at twelve or twenty. Word is you you have
the ability to trade back. Do you have a trade
partner that's willing to trade out? Because if you're wiped out,
other teams also might be wiped out. So why are

(36:56):
they trading up to go get it? Maybe it's an
offensive player, Maybe one of these wide receivers is on
the board and they want to go get a wide receiver,
and you're okay taking a step back. That's probably more
likely as opposed to trading back just for the sake
of trading back. It's got to be for somebody.

Speaker 5 (37:10):
I'm not trading back from twelve. I would only trade
up from twelve, but I am willing to trade back
from twenty depending on how things.

Speaker 4 (37:19):
If you pick at twelve and above, I'm okay trading.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
Yeah, exactly if you But I'm not bailing out of twelve.

Speaker 4 (37:24):
I'm okay with trading if you're in. If you're still
picking twice in the top twenty and you need to
trade back, like let's say you get wiped out and
you trade back from twelve to eighteen and you pick
up a second or a third round pick.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
I don't want to drop out of the top fifteen,
But correct me if I'm wrong.

Speaker 10 (37:40):
Did they not do that for the Michael.

Speaker 4 (37:42):
Parsons Micah was ten to twelve, so they dropped back,
dropped back two spots. They picked up the third, which
ultimately became Chauncey Golston.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
You were still in the fifteen, the top fifteen. So
that's I think what I'm just saying.

Speaker 5 (37:53):
So Cal was presenting a hypothetical scenario like maybe if
you drop back from twelve to eighteen and.

Speaker 10 (37:58):
Then eighteen, okay, but I'm not fourteen or fifteen to me,
I'm not see.

Speaker 4 (38:02):
But that's where I have first round grades on my board.
I don't know how many they have on their board.
It maybe fourteen or fifteen when it's all said and done.
But if you trade out of that specific spot and
you trade back, you're going to be in a second
tier of guys that are all early second round grades anyways,
So you might as well pick up another dark to

(38:24):
throat the dark board. You get what I'm saying, Even
if you pay even if you go from from twelve
to eighteen, you move back six spots. Trading out of
the top fifteen doesn't matter. If you only have fourteen
offensive first round.

Speaker 1 (38:36):
Well that's fair.

Speaker 5 (38:36):
But then that just kind of circles me back to
my original point, which is I'm either you want to
try and twelve or moving up from twelve, and then
I'm willing to talk about moving back from twenty to
pitchmakes even't know what happens there.

Speaker 10 (38:46):
And just really quickly, where's Coltonhood on your board?

Speaker 4 (38:49):
Early second?

Speaker 10 (38:50):
Early second?

Speaker 4 (38:51):
I haven't stacked the board yet, that'll probably come next week,
but he's probably going to be into up like twenty one,
twenty two.

Speaker 10 (38:56):
And he was a target for you right as well,
Like was he a possible?

Speaker 1 (39:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (39:01):
Yeah, I think I think he's definitely a possible cowboy,
more so at twenty than at twelve. But I think
he'd be a good pick. That's he's part of the
second tier of cornerbacks. Mansure and Jermal McCoy are higher
than that. McCoy's got the question marks with the medicals.
And you have Chris Johnson higher than who not as
high on Chris Johnson as I am on hood. I

(39:21):
like Chris Johnson, but not that much. All Right, we
got to take our second break. We got one more
collar on the line. Plus we're going to take a
look at some mock drafts when we come back with

Speaker 1 (42:26):
That's right. Let's say you gotta.

Speaker 4 (42:29):

Speaker 1 (42:38):
But let me get off the crutches. At least.

Speaker 4 (42:40):
I am excited for training camp when it comes around,
because it's always.

Speaker 5 (42:43):
This is going to this training camp is going to
be so fun as we Christian Parker and this new
coaching staff. I am so eager to see what the
energy looks like from these players buying into that system,
because that energy was just not present with the Eberflus
locker room.

Speaker 6 (42:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (42:58):
So, and and not to mention, you could have two
first round picks, yeah, and or like a top ten pick.

Speaker 1 (43:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (43:05):
So there's a lot to be talking about there. All right,
we got one more caller. We're actually we're gonna push uh,
We're gonna push the mock draft segments to next week
because we had so much kind of ready for it
and we ended up talking more on the Ruben Bay
and then your calls have been really good. So we're
gonna push mock drafts and the mock draft frenzy that
we were going to talk about to next week. So
we apologize for that, but tune in next Tuesday at

(43:27):
ten am. All right, Nick and Austin, Texas. You're on
talking Cowboys. What's going on?

Speaker 12 (43:33):
Hey guys, how's it going?

Speaker 4 (43:34):
That's great?

Speaker 12 (43:35):
How are you good?

Speaker 8 (43:37):
Hey?

Speaker 12 (43:37):
Patrick? I know how we can get you good real fast.
Talk to me about go up in there and hit
up Britt Brown.

Speaker 17 (43:44):
He'll take care of you.

Speaker 5 (43:45):
You know what, cowboys have some great resources, Britt Brown,
Jim Morrow. You know I might go tap on those
doors if a need to.

Speaker 4 (43:52):
Just I'm having already.

Speaker 5 (43:54):
I was gonna say, I'm not wells outside my orthopedic
surgeon do his thing, and then I can bring in
other resources.

Speaker 1 (44:03):
I mean, gotta let the guy on paying to do
the thing. The thing he diggs.

Speaker 4 (44:09):
But yeah, you know, you're absolutely right, not in the building.

Speaker 1 (44:11):
Fantastic advice from the ats.

Speaker 4 (44:14):
Gonna lose his fine.

Speaker 1 (44:17):
Chrit's going to be like the al out of my office.

Speaker 12 (44:20):
I think we can all agree that our top three
needs is past thrusher, corner, and linebacker.

Speaker 10 (44:26):
Yeah, we agree, not the very episodes in a row.

Speaker 1 (44:31):
You agree, just not the order.

Speaker 6 (44:32):
I agree.

Speaker 12 (44:33):
The problem is is okay, so you got my sword lane,
you got the guy in Tennessee that everybody's worried about
his medicals, and then he comes out and runs a
four to three. So I don't know much about the
need can you? I mean, can he still run a
four to three and still have you know, some.

Speaker 9 (44:55):
Issues going on?

Speaker 1 (44:57):
Yes? Running, let me go out here. Running it forth
through is a straight line, right.

Speaker 7 (45:02):
A lot of times whenever you're talking about somebody's knee
or whatever, medical on lower half is about the change
of direction, right, So you can sometimes be healthy enough
to run straight, but it's a can you decelerate?

Speaker 1 (45:13):
Can you change directions?

Speaker 13 (45:15):
Four?

Speaker 12 (45:15):
Three? That big of a deals they make it seen
then it's still a big deal.

Speaker 4 (45:20):
I mean to come back and to run that. You
ran a four to four flat at US Pro Day,
and for him to come back and do that after
having knee surgery is significant.

Speaker 1 (45:30):
That con the cone would be more tilling.

Speaker 4 (45:32):
The cones and the drills. That's that's what's going to
tell you more, and he didn't do Shuttle or Cone. Yeah,
so there's that's where the stress is area.

Speaker 12 (45:40):
That's where you're going at twelve and and I don't
really Okay, so everybody's been talking about moving up with
the Browns.

Speaker 9 (45:49):
I don't really want to do that.

Speaker 12 (45:51):
Yeah, you get it, you know, top ten pick, but
then you're not picking again until thirty nine. I don't
really care for that. There's there's been some mocks that
have where cayleb Bowns could fall to you. Now, I
know he's a safety, but considering his talent, would he

(46:13):
still take him in to worry about the other things later?

Speaker 1 (46:16):
Ain't falling right now?

Speaker 4 (46:19):
And if he does, I will run the part in
Rod Frisco total announce it on the Draft show.

Speaker 10 (46:26):
There is no reason that was the clock and they've
already made.

Speaker 1 (46:30):
There's no reason why that young man will fall. You
can't say.

Speaker 12 (46:33):
So let's say he does it, so it's twell, then okay,
the top linebacker is going to be gone, Sonny Thus
is going to be gone. The next level would be
either see would you say C. J. Allen or Rodriguez
would be the next two?

Speaker 5 (46:52):
Well, I would go in that in that scenario're talking
about at linebacker, Yes, because behind.

Speaker 12 (46:58):
That's one of our needs. But I think twelve is
probably too high to pick a linebacker other than sunny stop.

Speaker 1 (47:05):
Absolutely, I would agree. I wouldn't take cj Ellen at twelve.

Speaker 12 (47:08):
And I'm going on okay, So in that case, if
Monsieur Delayne is gone, would you take Jamond McCoy from Tennessee.

Speaker 11 (47:20):
You Like?

Speaker 4 (47:21):
It might be one of those things where you might
have to.

Speaker 17 (47:24):
That's because because it's twenty I believe that you could
you could trade back to say like twenty five, and
you pick up a third and then you could have
your pick of either a.

Speaker 12 (47:40):
Linebacker there or an ed rusher prop uh possibly messador.

Speaker 6 (47:46):
Yeah and then.

Speaker 12 (47:52):
Yeah, so then and then once the draft is well,
I mean, you could still get a linebacker later. But
and I know we can't talk about players, but there
is a guy in Miami that's been like to us,
possibly that I would give up a third rounder for
from next.

Speaker 17 (48:10):
Year or maybe even this year.

Speaker 1 (48:13):
Next year, right, m.

Speaker 12 (48:15):
Continue if y'all know who I'm talking about, the guy
from Miami, the sackling machines. So future I talk quite
a bit, So I hang on to see what y'all think.

Speaker 4 (48:25):
Yeah, we appreciate you. Yeah, I appreciate you, man, And
he brings up great scenarios. I think he's optimistic more
than most, just in the way the players could fall.
Because a key Mesodor falling in twenty is not a
certain thing. You could maybe get him to fall. If
he does fall the twenty, that would be great. And
I think there's your corner and edge rusher possibility. Talking

(48:46):
about Jermal McCoy in a wipeout scenario is very much
so a possibility. Like let's say, those big six names
that I talked about, the guys that are immediately going
to impact your team are off the board. When you
get to twelve and you do stick and pick Trema,
McCoy might be the top name on your list. He
was a thirty visit yesterday as reported by Todd Archer,
so he was in the building. Dallas is kicking the

(49:07):
tires to see what his availability is. But that goes
back to what you were talking about, Isaiah. It's not
just the straight line speed You're you're being asked to
throw a Lamborghini in reverse and then spin it around
one to eighty and go full speed the other direction.
Without losing any speed, and doing that on a possible
flat tires is tough.

Speaker 5 (49:25):
The boy said they're done with projects exactly as they
still work to make sure the savone revel can and
hold on, hold.

Speaker 4 (49:33):
On, let me let me clarify here me. They technically
didn't say it that way. They didn't say they were
done with projects. They said, we're not going to take
a red shirt guy. Yeah, Surema, McCoy is not going
to be a red shirt guy. He's he's full go
come training camp and even before that, you'll probably be
better come a mini camp and rookie mining camp. Possibly

(49:56):
he could do his stuff, So he's not a red
shirt guy.

Speaker 1 (49:59):
Is it a civone rebel situation?

Speaker 4 (50:00):
Now?

Speaker 10 (50:01):
No, no, no, no, no, no no, They're not going
to do that again.

Speaker 4 (50:03):
He's eighteen. He'll be eighteen months removed from his knee injury,
which was in January of twenty twenty five by the
time training camp comes from. That's true, and savone Rebel
was much further later than September Timber, so he was
twelve less than twelve months removed.

Speaker 7 (50:19):
See, I do like the idea potentially grabbing your guy
whatever that is at twelve and at twenty maybe dropping
back a handful of picks, pick up a third, and
using a third to go acquire a veteran who's already
proven in this league.

Speaker 1 (50:30):
I do like that option.

Speaker 4 (50:31):
Yeah, I could do that.

Speaker 1 (50:32):
I like those words.

Speaker 10 (50:34):
Those words too, I concur all right, that.

Speaker 4 (50:37):

Bleep! with Ana Navarro

Fear thrives in silence and confusion. Ana Navarro rejects both. Her voice is an antidote to today’s chaos. Her new podcast, Bleep! with Ana Navarro, takes on today’s most pressing issues with the voices most connected to it: decision-makers, political leaders, cultural shapers, and people on the frontlines of the story. The conversations acknowledge the emotions we all feel—despair, sadness, fear— but emerge with knowledge, perspective, and hope. The belief is simple: fearless dialogue can transform fear into courage, and courage into change. When fear dominates the headlines, this show digs deeper. Because information, debate, and conversation don’t just ease fear, they give us power to shape the future.
