Speaker 1 (00:15):
Breaking news, and today the Lego group is unveiling something
slightly different, slightly more fun, slightly back to the past,
you know, a blast from the past, or maybe even
something into the future. What we're talking about is the
Lego Speed Champion's Time Machine from Back to the Future.
(00:37):
That's right. You can choose to go back to the future.
You can go back to the past, you can go
back the whole way to the eighteen hundreds if you
so choose, you can go back to the fifties and
bet on sporting events. Whatever you want to do. But
with Doc and Marty on your side, you can bet
you're gonna have a blast. So let's get into the
details of this puppy. We've got this wonderful, wonderful Speed Champions.
(01:03):
Thank goodness, Speed Champions did something a little bit different
but just as exquisite as anything else. So let's jump
into it. Lego Speed Champions time Machine from Back to
the Future. Model car kit lets kids age nine and
over build, display, and recreate action from the iconic movie franchise.
This brick built toy car includes many of the famous
(01:24):
details from the model scene in the popular movies. Build
this iconic car with a lightning rod and California number
plate from the first movie, before rebuilding it into its
flying version from the second movie with Mister Fusion, an
orange number plate, and sideways wheels. Both versions have rear
(01:45):
air vents, a cockpit, the flux capacitor, and time calculator
for added play value. The playset also comes with two
minifigure characters from the movies Doc Brown and Marty McFly
to place inside the cockpit, a gift for kids and
nostalgic adults. They can build each play set with confidence
(02:05):
using the Lego Builder app, which lets them zoom, rotate
in three D, and track progress with easy to follow
digital instructions. Set contains three hundred and fifty seven pieces.
Also a note to mention, this is a dual building
thing where two people can build at the same time.
It's a shared build, so that's that's always fun as well.
(02:26):
It's notated on the box. It's not notated in the
press release I have, but that's that's something to keep
in mind. So the set number for this is seven seven,
two five six Lego Speed Champions. Obviously three hundred and
fifty seven pieces. As you heard, retail price twenty eight
bucks twenty eight euros and twenty three British pounds the
rest of the world. I don't know how you calculate
(02:47):
your stuff. I don't have that with me at the moment.
This thing is going to be available January first of
twenty twenty six. Darn I thought we were going to
get something like we got with the aquarium. I thought
we were going to get it early. Oh goodness, gracious,
that's okay, that's okay. I can live without. I'll just
have to. I just have to manage the next two
(03:07):
and a half months. Anywhom, let's go ahead and talk
about what we see. What do I see? I see
a lot of printed parts, because a lot of printed
parts are what Speed Champions is known for. The wheels,
the hubcaps. Wheels look really fat in this, which looks
really nice. The rubber anyway, So the hubcaps or the
(03:29):
rims are printed. It appears that the trans blue for
the bumper, the flux capacitor type stuff, the energy, the
who way around all these different tiles, they appear to
be printed. I'm almost ninety nine point nine percent sure
they're printed. The front headlights appear to be printed as well.
(03:49):
The logo on the front for the DeLorean is not
It is a sticker. I know, sad face, but you
know you can't. You can't get everything printed. As much
as as much as we all want things printed, you
just you just can't get it sometimes. Now the idea
of turning this into a secondary build so that it
(04:11):
can fly. What I heard is I got to spend
fifty six bucks to be able to get two of
these so that I can have an alternate build because
I'm not tearing this thing apart. I want to display both.
Now on the rear, you do have a sticker that
says DeLorean mister Fusion. I'm assuming is a sticker as well.
The license plates. Those could be printed. I don't know.
(04:35):
I guess we'll find out. But it's not that big
of adeal whether we know it or not. It's a
pretty wide vehicle. I'd like to I'd like to see
exactly how wide it is, but I think it's gonna
fall in line with the rest of the speed Champion stuff.
Is what it appears, you know, eight ten wide, depending
with wheel wells and stuff like that. Obviously, if you
(04:55):
have the wheels sticking out like it's flying machine, it's
going to stick out a lot further going through this,
I want to I want to clarify this so that
somebody doesn't yell at me in the future. It says
models cannot be built simultaneously. Again, you gotta spend your
spend your pennies wisely and go get two of them
so that you can have dual builds and fun at
(05:18):
the same time. I'm glad to see that we have
the Speed Champions version. We got the other version back
in what I want to say, twenty twenty two. I
believe it was twenty twenty two, so we got that one,
the icons version. Only only right that we get this
version as well, So I can't wait to put it
next to my big boy. Put both of them next
(05:40):
to the Big Boy, one on each side, and have
its own little display Speed Champions again, and it just
continues to cheer me to pieces with happiness. Doesn't sound
like it in my voice, does it, but it definitely
is so again, ear mark this for January first of
the new year. Twenty eight bucks, twenty eight yours and
(06:01):
twenty three British pounds. How many of you are going
to go at this? I think this is going to
be a hot sellar on day one. Nostalgic nostalgic reasons
for sure, without a doubt. But I think there's going
to be a faction out there that just looks at
this as kind of a play toy kid there. I
(06:21):
think some kids are going to look at this and say,
I like that. That looks like fun. I can make
it fly. You know, you've got dual builds, right. You
can change it to make it fly, or you can
change it to keep the wheels on the ground. I
think that's going to be a selling point for some
kids are going to look at that and be like,
oh look Mom, look Dad, it can do this. Look Grandma, Grandpa,
(06:41):
and Judy, uncle Bob, it can do this. And I
think that's going to be a thing. And the price point,
you know, twenty eight bucks, I think that's that's right
in that wheelhouse. I mean we're talking three hundred and
fifty plus pieces. That's right there. So yeah, let me
know what you guys think. I'd love to know how
many of you are going to throw money at this.
I am without a doubt, but I'd love to know
(07:01):
how many of you are as well. We could be
buddies that throw her money at plastic brick. I already
got to spend four hundred and eighty Oh my goodness. Anyway,
that's gonna wrap up this segment of breaking News. I
just have a feeling there's gonna be a lot more
coming between now and the end of the year, so
make sure you put the notifications on wherever you get
(07:26):
the show. It's on every podcasting platform out there known demand.
Spreaker is where we host, obviously because that's iHeartMedia's podcasting platform,
but you can find it anywhere. You can find it
on Amazon, you can find it on Spotify. I just
learned the other day that you can actually leave comments
(07:49):
on Spotify, which I was like, that is cool. Did
not know that. So anyway, I'll talk to you guys.
The next step
