In this heart-to-heart episode, Rachel challenges you to stop playing small and start letting yourself want more. If you’ve ever felt stuck, uninspired, or like you’re living someone else’s version of success, this episode is your permission slip to step into possibility, dream bigger, and build something that’s truly yours.

Key Points Covered:

  • Why it's not a vision problem—it’s a permission problem.
  • How the 'business in a box' model keeps you small and disconnected.
  • What shifts when you build a brand based on you and not just a product.
  • How to ‘turn on the lights’ and see what’s really available to you.
  • The power of writing your own permission slip to dream and try new things.
  • Real-life stories from Rachel’s Your Backup Plan program and the transformation that comes with creating your first digital product.
  • Guided visualization: what your life could look like 90 days from now if you let yourself see and believe in more.
  • Journal prompt: “What if I let myself see the possibilities?” (no filters, no judgment—just truth).
  • Rachel’s encouragement to stop decorating your life in the dark and flip on the switch.

Closing Reminder:
You are allowed to want more. You are allowed to expand. And you don’t have to have it all figured out to take the first step. Grab 10 minutes today, write out the possibilities, and let your future start now.

Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome to the Direct Sellers Podcast, the podcast
for direct sellers who are readyto get uncomfortable, build
their business and grow a teamwhile changing the face of the
direct sales industry.
I'm your host, rachel Perry.
Join me as we get real and talkabout all the things you need
to kick some serious directsales booty From overcoming

(00:26):
limiting beliefs to sharing theexact strategies you need to
attract the right people whobecome customers and beg to join
your team.
I've got you covered, girl.
I'm going to be your new BFFwhen it comes to balancing life
and kids while building yourdirect sales business with poise
, peace of mind and, of course,a good set of fake eyelashes.
Let's get started.

(00:53):
Hello, my friends, welcome backto another episode of the Direct
Sellers Podcast.
I'm your host, rachel, andtoday we're going to dive in to
a discussion on possibilitiesLike what if you let yourself
see the possibilities?
Today's episode is kind of likea love note to you and a

(01:16):
challenge, because I want to askyou something that you probably
haven't asked yourself in along time.
Oh, my gosh, you guys, I'm soexcited.
What if there's more availableto you than you've allowed
yourself to believe?
More income, more freedom, morefun, more creativity, more

(01:37):
alignment.
But instead of reaching for it,you've been playing small, and
not because you're lazy orunmotivated, but because no one
ever gave you permission to wantmore.
I mean, like seriously, can youjust like listen to that again?

(01:57):
Listen to me say this againit's not because you're lazy or
unmotivated, but maybe it'sbecause nobody has given you the
permission to want more, andwe're going to change that today
.
Here's the thing you guys know.
I work with a lot of you guys, alot of direct sellers, and most

(02:18):
of the women that I work withthey don't have a vision problem
.
It's not that you don't havedreams.
It's not that, although somepeople do struggle to dream, but
it's not that you don't have avision problem.
It's not that you don't havedreams.
It's not that, although somepeople do struggle to dream, but
it's not that you don't have avision, it's not a vision
problem, it's a permissionproblem.
Guys, when I discovered thisfor myself, I feel like the
possibilities that opened up forme were endless.

(02:41):
Here's the thing You've beentold to stay in your lane, to
just be grateful, to keep doingwhat's working, even if it's not
lighting you up anymore.
Like, just keep doing whatyou're doing, like you've got
this, you can do this, and weforget, or sometimes we don't
even realize, that we need tolook at ourselves and go wait,
hold on, it's not lighting me upanymore.
So we build this business in abox, like I like to call our

(03:03):
direct sales business as abusiness in a box.
Or you create your business, like based on what other people
are doing.
I did this when I was in directsales oh, my gosh, even when I
was in, you know, building thiscoaching business.
I've done that.
I've put myself in a box.
I've looked at what everybodyelse is saying is working and
then I try to do the exact thing.
Looked at what everybody elseis saying is working and then I

(03:25):
try to do the exact thing.
I try to stay in that.
You know it's black or white, but it's not.
You build a brand based onsomeone else's product, you
build a life based on someoneelse's version of success and
then you feel disconnected, youdon't feel aligned.
Has that ever happened to you?
Have you ever felt like wait, something's not right, like I've
lost my passion, I am notexcited to work anymore?
Has that ever happened to you?
See, here's the thing I think.

(03:46):
So often we don't see thepossibility, and the reason for
that is because it's a mindsetshift.
It's a muscle that we have toexercise.
It's not something that you'rejust born with.
It's something that you have topractice.
You've got to train your brainto look for more, to question
the limits, to expand, and Ithink what I see is that so

(04:11):
often you don't allow yourselfto do that.
It's like we don't giveourselves permission.
Do you know how powerful it isto write down?
I give myself permission todream, or I give myself
permission to get messy.
I give myself permission to trysomething new.
I went to a conference, I thinkabout a year ago, and we each
had to write.
We each of the attendees got apermission slip and we wrote

(04:35):
ourselves.
We signed our permission slipand gave ourselves permission to
do something.
I don't actually remember whatI wrote I've done it twice now
but it was so powerful.
Just that act of giving myselfa permission slip and signing it
.
I was giving myself permissionto do something that scared me.
And when we do that, we trainour brain to look for more, to

(04:59):
question the limits right, toexpand.
And then, when you do that, when you give yourself
permission to want more, or giveyourself permission to try
something new, or give yourselfpermission to see yourself as an
authority, whatever it is, youstart to see new paths that were
invisible before you.
Guys, it's incredible whathappens when you give yourself

(05:21):
permission.
So many of the girls in yourbackup plan which is that new
program that I have developedfor direct sellers who are ready
for more, who are ready to leaninto building something of
their own so they don't have torely on their direct sales
companies and it starts withjust a small, simple digital
product.

(05:41):
And I have to say, when thatdoor, I've watched these girls
start building this digitalproduct that they've created in
their minds and they put ittogether and the power that I
see emerge from them as they doit.
It's incredible because theystart seeing even more
possibilities, they get a spark, they come alive instantly

(06:05):
because they're seeing thepossibility and they're stepping
into it.
Let me give you an example ofwhat it might look like when
you're not seeing thepossibilities, when you're not
giving yourself permission.
It's like you're trying todecorate your room or a room
with the lights off.
Can you imagine right now, like, let's say, you've decided you

(06:26):
want to redo your family roomand you're going to decorate it
and you're going to bring insome new decor.
You're going to change thepicture on the walls, you might
change up the couches, you mightget a different rug, but the
lights are off.
So you're trying to decorate itwithout really seeing it.
You can't see what's availableto you.
You're stuck.
You're like, oh, this is sofrustrating.
But when you let yourself seethe possibilities in your life,

(06:52):
it's like flipping on that lightswitch.
Oh, you flip on that lightswitch and suddenly you see
everything.
And there's this space that youcan see and you can see the
colors and the pictures you'rebringing in and how.
Now you have a little bit moreof a vision direction.
You know that that light isyour permission.
Right, you need to giveyourself that permission.
You need to turn that light onin your family room so that you

(07:15):
can see what's at yourfingertips.
What is the color of that rug, what are the colors that are in
the room?
What can you do in there?
Right, you've got to turn thatlight switch on.
Guys, let me ask you what couldbe different 90 days from now if
you believed that somethingelse was possible for you?

(07:35):
Maybe it's that you couldcreate something of your own,
release a digital product andmake some money on it.
What would it feel like tobuild something that reflects
you, not just what you sell, notjust the product, not just
building a team?
What if you let yourself start, even if you don't have it all

(07:58):
figured out?
Here's the thing it's notselfish to want more.
It's actually self-leadershipand your future.
It really does expand themoment you do.
I love doing visualizations andso we're going to do a little
visualization right now.
Okay, we're going to go therenow.
If you're driving, okay, you'renot going to.

(08:19):
I'm not going to ask you toclose your eyes, or if you're
walking, cause that could be,that could be like the lights
out in the room, but I want youto just close your eyes for a
second.
And if and if you're walking, because that could be like the
lights out in the room, but Iwant you to just close your eyes
for a second.
And if you are walking ordriving or whatever, and you
can't close your eyes, justlisten and maybe revisit this,
but I want you to close youreyes and I want you to breathe

(08:41):
in and exhale, and I want you tojust picture this.
It's 90 days from now, threemonths, you're waking up excited
.
You don't have that dread, youdon't feel frantic, you don't
feel stressed.
You don't feel stressed.
Your brand really does feellike yours.

(09:04):
In fact, you have a brand.
You've never had a brand before.
People message you sayingthings like oh my gosh, you are
so inspiring.
Or oh my word, I love what youposted yesterday.
Thank you, I felt so seen.
Okay, money is flowing for morethan one place.
It's not just your direct salesbusiness, it's the digital

(09:25):
product you've put out there ismaking some money.
You're an affiliate withsomething else.
Your money is flowing for morethan one place and you're not
worried about whether or notyour company is going to change
their comp plan.
You're not worried if thingsare going to happen.
You're not worried that youhaven't met your team sales
because you've built somethingof your own.
Worried that you haven't metyour team sales because you've

(09:46):
built something of your own.
You are taking thesepossibilities and making them
yours.
And that version of you, she'snot that far away.
She's already inside you.
You just need to unlock her andlisten.
Here's the thing, friends.
Go ahead and open your eyes.
If you don't change anything,if you keep doing what you've

(10:07):
been doing.
Where will you be six monthsfrom now?
Are you still going to bestressed?
Are you still going to be stuckin someone else's system, still
wondering is this really it?
Like, is this really it?
So here's what I want you to doand I'm going to give you some
steps to take today.
Okay, I want you to take just10 minutes after this episode.

(10:33):
Like, find a time today thatyou can just take some time to
journal and journaling isn't foreveryone, but I think sometimes
I know sometimes journaling canbe for everyone and journaling
can be such a power, it is sucha powerful exercise.
So I want you to answer thisquestion what if I let myself
see the possibilities and thenwrite down everything that comes

(10:58):
to mind?
Don't filter yourself, don'tjudge yourself, just just write,
because this is where it starts.
What if I let myself see thepossibilities?
I was on a sort of weekendretreat with a couple of girls.
We were all entrepreneurs.
This was a couple of years agoand we took some time to write

(11:18):
out all the possibilities of thethings that we could do with
our business and in our life.
And it was hard in thebeginning.
It was hard because we would belike here are three or four
ideas.
But the more we sat in it andlet ourselves like, gave
ourselves no filters.
We did not filter anything.
There was no judgment.
Anytime, you know, our mindswent into the direction of like,

(11:39):
yeah, but this won't reallyhappen.
We stopped ourselves and wejust continued writing like
crazy things.
It was so powerful because itopened our eyes to what is
possible.
We keep ourselves in this box,you guys.
We keep ourselves in this box,but that's not where we belong.

(12:00):
We need to just think of thepossibilities, think of what we
can do, because you are allowedto want more.
You are allowed.
You need to give yourselfpermission to want more.
You are capable, you arecreative.
You are called to somethingmore.
So if you're feeling that nudgeand you're ready to build

(12:21):
something that reflects you, that is going to take you beyond
where you are, I want you tocommit to that step today.
I want you to commit.
I want you to commit to openingyourself up to the
possibilities.
You are allowed to expand and Iwant you to say that I am

(12:43):
allowed to expand.
There are so many possibilitiesfor you out there.
My friend, let's do this.
That's it for this episode ofthe Direct Sellers Podcast, but
our fun doesn't have to end now.
You'll catch me hanging outover on Instagram between

(13:04):
episodes and I'd love for you tojoin me.
So hop into my DMs.
I promise you're not gettingany hey girl messages and I
promise I'm not going to beasking you to weirdly buy
anything.
