(00:26):
limiting beliefs to sharing theexact strategies you need to
attract the right people whobecome customers and beg to join
your team.
I've got you covered, girl.
I'm going to be your new BFFwhen it comes to balancing life
and kids while building yourdirect sales business with poise
, peace of mind and, of course,a good set of fake eyelashes.
Let's get started.
(00:53):
Hello, my friends, welcome backto another episode of the Direct
Sellers Podcast.
You know me, I'm your host, rachel Perry, and we're going to
talk about something today thatI'm just really excited, rachel
Perry, and we're going to talkabout something today that I'm
just really excited to talk toyou about, because I think this
could be revolutionary for yourlife.
(01:14):
Does that sound dramatic?
Possibly, but I really, really, really, really, really do think
that this is going to be a gamechanger for you.
I just want you to open yourmind a little bit.
But listen, today, how is thispossible?
Today is my daughter's 17thbirthday.
How did that happen?
And you know if you're a parent.
(01:37):
You know, and sorry, I was justputting lip gloss on.
I don't know if that made aweird sound when I put it back
in.
It's this new elf elf lip glossand it's the shimmery one.
I don't know what it's called,but I'm obsessed with it.
The glow reviver, lip oil, glimmer, finish, and if you
could just see me, right now, mylips are glimmering.
Okay, so just know that.
(01:57):
But anyway, you, you know ifyou're a parent, it's so weird.
You blink, you blink, and Ijust don't understand how she's
17.
It's so weird.
It's so weird.
But we are having funcelebrating her.
(02:19):
She had a party this pastweekend with the focus of like.
The theme was Mamma Mia, youknow, um, and I can't, I can't
remember, I can't remember what, the, what, the, the song with
the words aren't really bad atthat, but you know, like, the
dancing queen, um, and it sayssomething about her being 17.
(02:40):
Um, so that's what we did withthe cutest cake, all the things.
So that was super fun.
And today we celebrate.
We celebrate when she gets homefrom school, all the things.
So, so weird, so weird thatshe's 17.
It's so weird that my son isgraduating in like five weeks.
It's so weird that the baby is14 and I'm still only, you know,
(03:02):
30.
So weird.
Anyway, today we're going totalk about the summer and I am
going to give you a suggestion, and I'm going to help you with
this, on how to make more moneythis summer.
So the summer tends to be likea slowdown for all of us.
(03:23):
Right, it just is.
It just becomes a slower time, especially in direct sales.
Back when I was doing directsales years and years ago, you
know people wouldn't haveparties as much, and I know
parties aren't happening as muchas they used to, but it just
slows down.
People don't stop buying,though.
Y'all you know that, right, like, people don't stop buying
(03:45):
in the summer.
You've just got to figure outhow to keep the sales going.
Now, if you have a team and this, this episode, is going to be
really geared towards leaders, but if you're, if you're not a
leader, keep listening, becauseI do think that you're going to
get something out of this.
But I'm speaking to the leadersprimarily because you guys have
more to lose if your teamdoesn't work right.
(04:08):
So if you rely, if currentlyyour team is working or let's
say, 10% are working and you'regetting a commission check,
that's great.
But you know, in the summerthings slow down.
And this is this is what makesit hard about putting all your
eggs in one basket when you havea team, because you're
dependent on them working, you're dependent on them getting
(04:28):
sales, you're dependent on themgrowing their team, and when
they don't, that affects youright, it's out of your control.
So I'm going to and this goesfor all of you, even if you're
not a leader but what if thissummer you had a digital product
you were selling and you werelike and it was on autopilot, so
(04:49):
you don't have to spend a lotof time selling it, it's
happening behind the scenes.
How would that feel?
In addition to your directsales business, wouldn't that
feel good?
The thing is is, in the summer, everyone, like I said, slows
down, team engagement tanksbecause people are on vacations,
they're focusing on their kids, they're maybe not working as
(05:17):
much.
It might feel like you'rechasing more people because you
can't seem to get them torespond to you, and maybe that's
every day, but commissions tendto drop a little bit, it's
conference.
Usually a lot of you have yourconference during the summer,
which is super fun Okay, it's sofun to go and connect and get
inspired and motivated and allthe things but oftentimes things
(05:38):
slow down for you financiallyas well.
I know that in the summers forme, when I was having parties,
people would still I would stillget parties on my calendar, but
unless it was like a whole, youknow, girls night, let's have
happy hour in the backyard, theme type, type, type party.
(05:59):
Um, it was hard to get peoplethere.
You know, it was hard to get infront of people.
It was hard that that andthat's the same.
Now, even if you're not doingin-person events, it's still the
same.
People slow down If you're onsocial media.
I mean, people are still goingto be on social media, but you
shouldn't be relying on yoursocial media for your business.
(06:19):
So it's really important tocome up with a way.
Honestly, it's really importantfor you to create some more
sustainability, some moresecurity in your life, and
you're already creating content.
You guys, you're alreadycreating content.
Why put all your eggs in onebasket with your direct sales
(06:42):
business, hoping that you'regoing to rank up or hoping that
you're going to get the sales,or hoping that you're going to
get the commission check thatyou're planning on and you don't
.
That sucks right, because theproblem isn't you, it's the
model.
And listen, you'll know I'm ahuge advocate of the direct
(07:02):
sales industry, but what I don'tlove is how so many direct
sellers sort of fall into thistrap of small thinking.
This is just where I'm going.
I'm going to stay right here, and you are already creating
things and doing things that youcould be monetizing Really.
Imagine if you could create justsomething.
(07:22):
You could create a guide, youcould create a mini course, you
could create a secret podcast.
You could do I mean you coulddo a coaching program.
No, that sounds big.
I mean I'm talking small Like.
I'm talking like something thatcould be going in the
background.
So, maybe not the coachingprogram, but imagine if you had
that being sold on autopilotbecause you've created a funnel
(07:47):
and you didn't have to put a tonof effort into creating it.
So let's think about thisYou're already coaching as a
team leader.
You're already doing that.
You're already training yournew reps.
You're answering the samequestions over and over again
for your customers and for yourteam.
You are posting daily content.
(08:07):
You are probably teaching youraudience some things You're
giving value, you're teaching,you're showing.
All of this, you guys, ismonetizable content.
You're already doing the work.
You're just not getting paidfor it yet.
Now I understand that if youcreate something, you can't
(08:30):
charge your team for it 100%,but I want you to think about
what are some things that you'redoing right now that you could
sell, and I really just am goingto encourage you to think big
here.
Think big Now.
You know my story.
Amanda and I were in our directsales business.
(08:50):
We had separate businesses, wewere in separate downlines, we
were successful, we were running, we were happy, but then we
started.
We created the Facebook partyand the Facebook party helped us
double our sales in one yearand we were like we have
something here, and then someonesaid you should sell this.
This is something you'vecreated, people want this, and
(09:11):
so we did, and we put it in amini course and we sold it for
$19.99.
Now we totally undervaluedourselves.
We should not have been sellingit for $19.99.
And we didn't.
Eventually we increased theprice.
But my point is chances areyou're doing something now that
is working for you, or you havethe knowledge in something and
(09:34):
it might not even be in yourdirect sales business.
I have students in my programand your backup plan who are.
I have someone who is creatinga toolkit for children with
anxiety and so she's going tomarket it to parents who have
children with anxiety.
That's massive.
People are 100% going to payfor that.
I have someone else who iscreating.
(09:57):
She's into clean living and herstory is that she had really,
really bad asthma and it wasspending probably thousands of
dollars on medication, and whenshe made some changes in her
life like just clean living, changes, removing certain
chemicals, all the things herasthma improved tremendously.
(10:18):
And she is speaking.
She is speaking to parents whohave children with asthma.
She's saying listen, here aresome quick things that you can
do now to improve your child'sbreathing, and she's going to be
doing some some like coachingvideo or training videos for
that.
So these are things that she'salready doing.
(10:38):
These are things that peopleare already doing.
So I want you to think aboutthat.
I want you to think about whatis it that you are creating or
doing that you could actuallyturn into a digital product, and
they don't have to be thesecrazy huge programs.
Literally, it can be a simpleguide.
It can be a simple podcast.
(10:58):
Okay, it could be a recipe book.
I'm serious, you guys, so let'sgo there a little bit.
Oh, here's another ideaTemplate bundles.
People freaking love a planneror templates, or like journals
or content planners.
I'm telling you, like, if youare good in Canva or you're
(11:22):
creating things for your team, think about turning that into
money, honey.
Okay, honestly, what if you didlike a mini course or a or a
pdf guide about like mindset orcreating habits or onboarding?
Do you have a really goodonboarding system?
Let's monetize it.
Again.
I know you can't sell to yourteam, but there are plenty of
(11:44):
other network marketers outthere.
Or you could create a privatepodcast or an audio series that
people have to pay for.
That's going to transform theirlife in some way.
Listen, if you've ever said Ishould really do like, I wonder
if I could sell this or I shouldreally make something out of
this or whatever, this is yoursign, sister.
(12:05):
Even if you haven't everthought that, even if you
haven't ever thought that, I'mtelling you you have something
that you can monetize right now.
Okay, so listen, you've gotabout.
I don't know what is it.
Six to eight weeks beforesummer fully hits, so that's
plenty of time for you to get afirst version out, all right,
(12:26):
and I'm going to encourage youto just start it.
Create it.
No panic, you panic later, okay, but instead of waiting until
the commission check drops, instead of waiting until summer,
instead of waiting until thecommission check drops, instead
of waiting until summer, insteadof waiting until you're like,
hmm, I need to come up with abackup plan, I need something
else.
Instead of waiting until thecompany closes or the company
(12:48):
changes models, which hello, this has happened again.
Two other companies have closedtheir doors.
Like what?
Anyway, why not start creatingyour digital product now?
It doesn't have to be fancy.
It doesn't have to be fancy.
It does not have to be fancy,it just needs to be helpful.
Because, listen, a $17 productcan turn into hundreds over the
(13:11):
summer, and more as you grow.
And this is just the beginning, right, this is just your first
version.
We're going to get out there.
It's not about creating a wholenew business.
It's just about adding moremoney to your life.
It's just about monetizing whatyou already do.
And I think that's the beautyof building a network marketing
(13:31):
business is that you arelearning so much you have
learned.
You are not the same persontoday that you were when you
started your business.
Can we just reflect on that fora moment?
You are not the same personthat you are, that you were.
You are not the same persontoday that you were when you
started this business, because,in this industry you are.
(13:53):
It's almost like a springboardfor more.
You are growing.
It's a personal developmentjourney, and when we grow in our
personal development, we becomethe next version of ourselves,
the even better version ofourselves.
And guess what?
Hi, you're the even betterversion of yourself right now.
So let's talk about that.
Let's think about what are youdoing that you could monetize,
(14:17):
that we could turn into adigital product, and if you are
thinking right now there'snothing that I could do, I'm
going to call BS on that.
My friend, I'm going to giveyou a little bit of tough love
here A little bit of tough love, because I just call BS on that.
The difference, though, is areyou going the difference between
, like, those who are successfuland those who are not?
And I was actually talking tomy kids about this last night.
(14:39):
I was like the entrepreneurs whoare successful they don't quit,
they don't give up, they keepgoing.
My daughter, my 17 year old, mynewly 17 year old, wants to be
an entrepreneur.
And I'm like, yes, girl, yes, yes, and I will help you.
But I was just talking abouthow you know, sometimes it's not
easy.
It's not easy being anentrepreneur, but the difference
(15:00):
between a successfulentrepreneur and a
non-successful entrepreneur,that we don't quit, right, and
you're not a quitter.
So let's talk about if you'rethinking, okay, I have an idea.
But and I'm telling you what alot of the ladies in the backup
plan, my program there's a lotof overthinking happening.
I've been there too, sister.
(15:22):
I have been there too.
But I want you to understand ifwe wait to be perfect, that's
just a form of procrastination, that's just a form of
self-sabotage, because we don'tneed the perfection.
We don't need it to be perfect.
We're afraid, you're afraid, ofsomething when we come up with
all these reasons as to whysomething isn't going to work.
We don't need it to be perfect.
We're afraid, you're afraid, ofsomething right.
When we come up with all thesereasons as to why something
isn't gonna work or that's notready to put out there or
(15:44):
whatever, that's because we havesome fear.
Here's all I'm gonna say again,it doesn't have to be fancy, it
just has to be helpful, becauseif you're selling, like a $17
product, $9 product girl, listen, just a reminder I sold a
$19.99 product and in a year wereached and I think we were over
(16:08):
a hundred thousand, I think wewere like more, like 200,000.
Why?
Because it was solving a need.
It was teaching people how theycould stop partying in person,
party on Facebook, hello intheir pajamas, and double their
sales.
And they did.
Did everyone know?
Right?
But there were plenty that did.
(16:30):
So here's what I'm going to.
Here's what I'm going toencourage you to do.
I want you to take action.
I want you to take action.
I want you to start braindumping your ideas today.
I don't want you overthinking.
I want you to take out.
I want you to take action.
I want you to start braindumping your ideas today.
I don't want you overthinking.
I want you to take out yournotebook or your journal or
whatever and just start comingup with ideas and listen if
you're like, I just want ideason, like, what are some digital
product ideas?
(16:51):
I have a list of 75 ideas.

But if you email me, rachel atRachel A Perry, or you DM me on
Instagram, just just write ideasand I will send you the 75

stopped depending on your teamand you can start getting paid
for what you know.
Why not, again as a reminder?
Dm me the word ideas and I willsend you my free 75 digital
