I'm Josie Pasentino Voon and I am so excited to
feature this wonderful, wonderful guest, Bella Lamb, who's going to
be a part of CMA Fest. So we'll talk about that,
where she'll be and what is going on in her

to talk to Bella Lamb.

Hi, how are you, dyling, I'm doing wonderful. Thank you
so much for joining me.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Yeah, of course, thank you for having me on my pleasure.

Speaker 5 (01:42):
So I've really been looking forward to this because you
have a lot of really cool things that are happening
right now in your world musically.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
So can you tell us?

Speaker 5 (01:50):
First off, because you're going to be part of the
festivities during CMA Fest, can you tell us where you'll be?

Speaker 6 (01:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Absolutely so.

Speaker 6 (01:58):
Starting on Friday around owned four o'clock, I'll be at
the Listening Room Cafe for an acoustic performance, some covers,
some originals.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
It's going to be a fun time.

Speaker 6 (02:07):
And then Saturday, through Nashville Universe, I'll be having a
meet and greet at fanfare Ech that's an hour starting
at ten thirty, and then I'll be playing at Teddy's
Tavern at twelve thirty.

Perfect.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
So there's many opportunities that our listeners can go and
check you out, see you, popsorn with you.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
And then you know, I want to talk about your
upcoming single Boot First. What was the inspiration behind this song?

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Oh? Absolutely so. This was actually my first co write ever.

Speaker 6 (02:40):
I wrote it with Jessica Kine and Kayleie and Lowe,
and going into it, I think they could tell I
was pretty nervous about writing with other people for the
first time, because songwriting is such an intimate thing, and
it's an intimate thing for me because I'm always writing
about something going on in my life and I kind
of use it as a diary. So I think I

(03:00):
could tell and I was kind of just like talking about, well,
when I do something, I'm either going all out or
I overthink it. And they were like, well, we'll just
write a song about that. So we wrote boot first,
and it's just a really fun first song to write.

Speaker 5 (03:14):
Yes, And this single was recorded at the incredible Blackbird
Studio here in Nashville. What was that experience like, because
that is a beautiful studio.

Speaker 6 (03:23):
It was so.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Stunning in there, and it was just so fun.

Speaker 6 (03:27):
Lil Reynolds produced it, and he did such an amazing job,
and all the studio musicians we worked with, everybody we
worked with, just did such an amazing job. And I
felt so blessed to be in that room. I remember
a funny story I was I was trying to get
back into where the soundboard was from where I was
singing at It's a big, heavy door and I just

was struggling to pull it open, but I got it open.
I come back in and Wull goes.

You know you're so short.

Speaker 6 (03:54):
You kind of reminded me of Martine McBride peeking her
head in over the thingy, and I was like, I
remind you of Bardino Bride. Stuff it.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
I will take it.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
I'll take that.

Speaker 7 (04:05):
Thank you.

That's awesome.

Well, I'm glad you had a great experience. And when
can we expect boot first to be available on all
the platforms?

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Yeah, June twenty six, perfect.

I'm so excited, So please make sure everybody you keep
tuned in for that. I know that pre save is

Yes, I'm so excited for you all to hear it.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
Yes, I can't wait.

Speaker 5 (04:29):
But I want to talk about your previous singles well,
because that one is out. It's amazing, it's a fan favorite.
It's called take It Out on my Guitar. Can you share, yes,
share the story behind this one, because this one was
featured so many different places.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
It really went very well.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Absolutely so.

Speaker 6 (04:47):
Like I was saying, it's like, songwriting is an intimate thing.
But here's the thing with songwriting is that I'm so
anti confrontational. You can ask my mama. You can ask
my dad, you can ask all my friends. I hate arguments,
so order to avoid arguments, if I'm upset with somebody,
I'll write a song about it.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
It's so healthy, it's you knows, therapeutic.

Speaker 6 (05:09):
So we wrote a song about it, just like taking
out your guitar instead of on the person. And we
kind of made it like a fun breakup anthem, and
we mentioned so many badass girl country anthems in it
that we just paid homage to Taylor Swift and Carrie.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Underwood, Miranda Lambert, the Chicks, and it was just a
fun song.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
Oh yeah, it was so clever. It's so clever too,
and I could see why it did so well with
the fans. And you have a music video out for
it as well. What was it like filming the video
that was so fun?

Speaker 6 (05:40):
I so it was a force perspective music video where
we made a guitar look really big and you look
really tiny, like I was standing on it.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
I was actually standing on a car.

Speaker 6 (05:50):
So his day was or this shoot was two days long,
so I spent like the entirety of two days staying
out a guitar in a mini dress and it was
we made it look like it is really nice and
warm and summary out it was freezing wow.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
But it was a really fun time.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
It was so fun.

Speaker 5 (06:07):
Oh it sounds like so much fun. Oh my goodness,
I love it. It's such a great video and everyone
can check it out. It's on YouTube, it's also on
your website, but also it was added to the Heartland
Networks rotation as well.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Yes, I feel so blessed.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
Yes, Oh it's amazing.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
And it also debuted on American Country Network. I mean,
come on you, Yeah, it's going well.

Speaker 6 (06:27):
Honestly, if someone had told me two years ago that
this is what my career looks like right now, I
wouldn't have believed them.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
And I'm just like so thankful for everything.

Speaker 6 (06:36):
That God has given me, and that everything that I've
been able to work towards and continue working towards.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
Yes, oh, and so much it is just beginning. I mean,
so much more to come for you.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
I could see you're just on such a great trajectory
already with your career, and you have such a great
collection of songs so far. I have to ask, are
any thoughts on maybe an album at some point down
the road or e ep?

Speaker 6 (06:59):
Oh absolutely, I have so many songs just saved up.
I write a song a day and a lot of
them are bad. But every once in a while, you
you'll find like you're gonna get that. And I am
always writing and I'm always creating. So we've got something
in the works.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Oh well, okay, perfect.

Speaker 5 (07:15):
Well, I'm I'm I'll be looking for that. I'm excited
to hear that more is in the works. And uh,
that's super super exciting. And for people who want to

You've done really cool like campaigns surrounding your music. I
just love how accessible you are to the fans. It's
just amazing. More artists needs to do what you do.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
I mean, we wouldn't be able to do it without
the fans.

Speaker 6 (08:15):
And I love connecting with them. I grew up like
being such a big fangirl, so and I love doing artist.
I was able to connect with them and make memories
and I want to be that artist.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
Yes, and you will.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
You are so you already are, which I think is incredible.
And another really cool thing about you that I was reading.
So you are currently earning your degree in music.

Speaker 6 (08:39):
Oh yep, I am part time at the University of
Tennessee at Tattanooga, Go Mox. So I'm doing a classic semester.
I'm actually sitting in my dorm room right now with
a whole bunch of boxes surrounding me.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
It's too funny.

Speaker 7 (08:54):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
Oh wow, that is so cool.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
Well, then you're gonna be able to use a lot
of those experiences with their music. So I think that's
gonna be great to be able to learn a little
bit more about like the inside part, you know.

Speaker 6 (09:06):
Yeah, the thing about UTC is that the community is
just they find someone who is trying to achieve something
that I'm trying to achieve. We have Olivia Reeves too,
she just won a gold medal in the Olympics, and
they see us and they're like, we want to support
because the Mocks are a big family. And I just
appreciate everyone here.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
Oh it's so cool, and I'm sure you're able to
connect with so many people as well that are also
students there that are doing maybe the same thing you are.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
It's great.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Oh absolutely, yeah, I love that.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
Wonderful And I have some fun questions for you if
you're ready.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Oh yeah, absolutely perfect.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
So as a performer, you perform quite a bit, so
I wanted to ask, have you ever had any embarrassing
on stage moments or an on stage mishap that you
could share?

Speaker 6 (09:50):
Oh my goodness, Actually this past weekend something okay. So
I was playing at eighteen nineties Day Festival twenty five minutes,
sat outdoor stage and it had been raining the past
few days, so the stage was a little bit slick,
and I remember I and there was like a steep
little staircase to get on the stage for one of

(10:11):
our songs. I went in the front, and I was
so scared of tripping in the front, and I didn't.
But when I got back on stage, to the right
of the stage, I think there was a whole bunch
of little girls standing and dancing on this little little
podium and I went over there and I was singing
to them. I was singing gunpowder and leads, so I
was like saying.

Speaker 7 (10:29):
You're going showing a little girl's native And then I
turn around and someone had left a big monitor, like
the one of the big speakers on the stage, and
I didn't notice it until it was under my boot.

Speaker 6 (10:42):
And I fell my knee connected to it, but I
didn't hit the floor. I caught myself. None of my
dan saw it, so I set into the bike. I
guess I just showed y'all what a little girl's made
of that. Your audius was laughing, and then my guitars
just looked at.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Me, like, what are you talking about?

Speaker 5 (10:58):
That is so funny for us him move cheta you
just think okay? You like completely were like, you know what,
thank I got this.

Speaker 6 (11:06):
Yeah, I'm kind of like a bobblehead where I will
trip a lot, but I won't actually ever hit the floor.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
That's amazing. That's a skill. That is a skill.

Speaker 2 (11:14):

Yes, You're very welcome.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
And the next one question I have for you is
there an artist out there today that you would love
to collaborate with?

Speaker 4 (11:23):
It could be songwriting or like a duet, anyone in particular.

Speaker 6 (11:26):
Oh my goodness, there are so many. Mackenzie Carpenter. I
would love to write with her. She's written so her
own songs, but also the songs that she's written with
Mega Maroni. And I'd also say Jesse Alexander writing with her.
She's also from my hometown, Jackson, Tennessee, and her her

(11:47):
writing is just so inspirational. But who I would like
to collaborate with. I mean Miranda Lambert, Keith, Urban, Cody Johnson,
so many cool people. I'm I take it as a
learning If I can collaborate with someone who is already
an established artists and learned from them, I will feel

(12:07):
so blessed.

Speaker 5 (12:08):
Yes, And you've had the opportunity for opening up and
sharing the stage with many great talents as well. What
are those experiences like being able to open up?

Speaker 6 (12:17):
I always love it's this thing where you see someone
who's already established in doing what you're doing, and you
just want to absorb it your sponge. So I will watch,
I will sit there and I will like soak up
all that I can before, like after I've already got
on gotten off stage.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
It's amazing.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
That's amazing. That's smart to do.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Actually, oh yeah, I'm like taking notes in my head.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
Yes, as you should get it. I love that.

Speaker 5 (12:43):
And then the last fun question that I have for you,
if you can perform anywhere around the world, what stage
would you love to perform that you have not had
the opportunity doing this.

Speaker 6 (12:52):
I there's so many, and I know a lot of
artists would say something like Madison Square Garden, like you know, the.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Really big one. But I would really love to play
the Rhyman Auditorium.

Speaker 6 (13:04):
That is a dream. I've seen so many shows there
and I have been in the building and I just
feel the energy that it has and I want to
play that stage.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
It'd be such a dream come true.

Speaker 4 (13:16):
Yes, the Mother Church. I'm going to put it into
the universe for you. I would love to see that.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
