media at CMA Fest this year, such a thrill for us.
But today we have a couple interviews for all of

So we have Alana McCready and Cooper Riley, two incredible talents,
so I'm really looking forward to sharing these interviews with you.
So let's start with my interview with Cooper Riley. Here

Cooper Riley, Hi, how are you doing doing wonderful? Thank

you so much for joining me.

Thank you.

Your new single out of Time is incredible. Tell us
about the song, your inspiration behind it, tell us all
about it.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
Yeah, so I wrote it four ish months ago, and
you know, I was just kind of in a position
at the time where I was just kind of felt
a little stuck and didn't know the right way to
you know, keep moving forward.
Speaker 4 (02:12):
And you know, so I wrote it about you know, in.
Speaker 5 (02:15):
This industry, you feel like you're just watching the clock
take in front of your face. And I feel like
if you spend more time, you know, on meeting people
and growing as an artist and and things like that,
you could be more successful that way. So it's just
kind of something to lift me up, but then also
lift people up that listen to it and can resonate
with it.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
What has the response been like from fans with out
of Time so far? What have you been getting?
Speaker 5 (02:40):
Uh, just kind of you know that they they like
how you know, it's it's a little bit different than
my past songs that I put out, and just kind
of the more upbeat, kind of different type of style
and that you know, it kind of resonates with people
as well that you know, it was something that they
didn't really realize until they heard it.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yes, and I really really love your sound, and I
love the rhythm of this song in particular. So for
those who have not had the opportunity to hear you yet,
how would you best describe your sound?
Speaker 5 (03:13):
I would go, you know, kind of a bluesy country
type of sound, where you know, I got the southern twang,
but then I also got the blue soul since I'm
from Memphis, Tennessee.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Yes, Memphis. I love that. I definitely hear it. It's
just such a great song out of time, and it's
available now on all of the social on all of
the platforms that you get your music today, so please
make sure you check it out, everybody. And I seen
that you grew up in a musical family. What was that?
Like I always say, growing up in a musical family
(03:45):
is the best way to grow up.

Absolutely.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
My mom's side of the family is from Jones Borar, Arkansas,
which is right over the Memphis Bridge. But you know,
I grew up kind of on that side of the
family because that's that thing that you either play an instrument,
sing or do both, so it was kind of I
guess in my blood in a way, I kind of
just grew up around it and ended up loving it,
and you know, I just kind of always did that
(04:11):
with them. And then in middle school I was in
the Memphis Boys Choir, which was cool.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
So I've just you know, I've always had a love
for music.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
And yeah, that's amazing. It's in your blood. It's always
been around you. I can definitely tell from just how
you speak so so highly about music and how much
you love it. And I wanted to talk about this
because I hear that you have more music plans to
be released throughout twenty twenty six. Anything you could tell
us about that as of yet, you.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
Know, there's still kind of some things in the process,
you know, kind of figuring out the next step of.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
Music. You know, I have a bunch of.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
Songs, just a matter of what's on one I want
to do next, but definitely some great you know, we
got some happy, fun songs.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
We got a couple of sad songs. So it's just
kind of some good stuff on the way.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Yes, you have a great range. I'm so excited to
hear that because it sounds like you have such a
great range of music for just about any mood that
anyone could be feeling at any particular time.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
I like that.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
That's wonderful and hopefully hopefully maybe a full length album
down the line at some point as well, you never.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
Know, most definitely, most definitely yes.

Wow, it was it was amazing.

I mean, there's just that's an amazing event that Bobby
Jacobs put on.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
Puts on a bunch of great, you know.
Speaker 5 (06:27):
Industry people, a bunch of great artists, and then a
bunch of people that you know, love music and you know,
and that, and for when it comes to nap with
a bunch of people that like wine. I could tell
you that, but but no, I mean, overall, it was
an amazing event. I got to meet a lot of
cool people and make a lot of great connections and
play my music for people who haven't heard of me yet.

That's wonderful. It sounds like a lot of fun.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
And you know, being being a music artist traveling, I'm
sure for you is just so much fun. Is there
somewhere that you would love to performed that you haven't
had the opportunity yet? It could be anywhere in the world.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
I've always wanted to play Red Rocks.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
Yes, yeah, I think that'd be awesome.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
Oh, that would be It's such a gorgeous venue.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
It's just so young beautiful.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Oh yeah, I could see it. I could see it
happening where you are now. I can see the trajectory.
You're only up from here. I am looking forward to
seeing what what is next for you, and I hope

out there today that you would love to collaborate with?

It could be you know, maybe songwriting, maybe a duet.
Who would that be?
Speaker 5 (07:45):
I'd say probably Caim and Marla. I really love his
music and his his style of music.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
But then also his voice is just insane. It's out
of this world.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Oh yeah, I can see you two vibing very well. Actually,
I can see it.

I hope that happens for you for sure. And you know,
on the topic as we talked about performing, have you
ever had any embarrassing on stage moments or or maybe
some on stage mishaps that you could share with us anything?
Speaker 4 (08:16):
Uh, let's see.
Speaker 5 (08:17):
I was playing a gig in Lake Tahoe, California. It
was kind of sort of late last year, and I
was just playing a few songs whatever, and I literally
forgot the words to the whole second verse and I
was like, oh no, I was like, I literally wrote
this song, Like how do I forget this.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
But I mean I've had that happen.
Speaker 5 (08:39):
I played something in Colorado too, and I didn't even
realize it. I was sick at the time too, so
I was kind of barely holding on.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
But I sang the second verse twice with that. It
was a whole thing.
Speaker 5 (08:51):
But people ended up just like not even realizing it
at least I hope.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
But right, That's the funny part about it is you
you obviously know when you're making a mist, but when
when the audience is there, most of the time they
do not catch it, which is.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
Great as long as you're confident about it. No one
says anything exactly.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
It's all about how you recover and how you how
you do it.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
Yes, exactly, I love that.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
And who are some of your musical inspirations growing up?
You know, who did you really listen to and still
today listen to.
Speaker 5 (09:22):
You know, it's really all over the place because my
dad was kind of the the countryside, and then my
mom was, you know, with her family, it's kind of
the bluesy and pop and stuff like that. So you know,
I grew up listening to John may Or, Keith Whitley,
George Stra, Michael Jackson, justin Timberley, and then my sister
(09:43):
always played justin bieber and all that stuff.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
So it's kind of all over the place.
Speaker 5 (09:46):
But when it comes to kind of people that that
I kind of based my music with, you know, I
go John may or, Keith Whitley, Chris Stapleton.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
You know, it's it's kind of just.
Speaker 5 (09:59):
Really all over the place in a way, but I
try to kind of keep it into uh, you know,
a country bluesy type stuff.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
So sure, oh yes, you listed all of my favorites,
so I hear it.
Speaker 6 (10:12):
That's wonderful.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
You have great you have. You have great, great music inspirations,
that's for sure. And then the last fun question that
I have for you to wrap on up here is
probably the craziest question you'll ever get in your life,
but I love it. If you could be any animal
in the wild, what animal best personality wise do you
think suits you? What would you be?
Speaker 5 (10:33):
You never gotten that question before, you may never have
it again.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Probably a lion, Okay, I see it, I see it.
Speaker 5 (10:42):
Okay, something kind of you know, fierce and always going
after something.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
For sure. Yeah, you have the you have like the
stamina and you're just you're after what you want to
get Yeah, for.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
Sure, exactly.

Absolutely. I love that great, great answer you had. You

your single Human, So I really.

I have such a good message behind it, and I
think everyone has felt some you know, felt this before
in their lives. Very relatable. So can you share the
inspiration behind Human for those who may not have heard
it yet?
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Yeah, So Human is kind of.
Speaker 6 (11:52):
Piggybacking off of.
Speaker 7 (11:56):
My single before it, which was I'm just Fine, and
so it's kind of like an extension of that in
my mind as a songwriter. A songwriter, Yeah, but basically
I feel like, especially in today's world, it's we forget
that the only thing we have in common is that

we're all human, and we need to give ourselves grace
and everyone around us grace because at the end of
the day, no matter.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
What you believe, who you are, where you live, what
you do.
Speaker 7 (12:29):
Any absolutely anything about you, the one thing we all
will have in common forever.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Is that we are all human.
Speaker 6 (12:36):
Hm.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Absolutely, and we are not perfect and mistakes are just
fine exactly. I love that it's such a wonderful song
and Human is out now on all streaming platforms. So
what kind of response have you been getting from fans
so far? I'm sure it's been wonderful.
Speaker 7 (12:50):
Oh my gosh, it's been so great, just like the
messages and like dms and just all the comments and
everything of people being like, oh my gosh, I you know,
this makes me feel good about myself, or just people
people getting a reminder that just be nice to each
other because we are all the same at the root
(13:13):
and so and or people's stories about just not feeling
good enough or feeling like they're failing at life or
things like that, and just sharing those things with me. Like,
as a songwriter, that is all you can ask for.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Oh yeah, absolutely, that's that's the goal really as a songwriter,
is that you can do something to touch, to touch people,
to touch humans. And it's such a wonderfully song. Yes,
and you also for those out there who are visual
beings like MOI, you have an official visualizer out for
human as well, and I feel like it really compliments
the song and I really enjoy Like in the background

all of the photos, where did you film this so cozy?
Speaker 7 (13:54):
I know, I filmed it here in Nashville at this old,
like nineteen twenties house.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
And that was the decor of the house I walked in.
I was like, this is the vibe.
Speaker 7 (14:08):
And we did it there, and I wanted it to
me more raw looking, so like there's blurry you know,
there's spots where the camera goes blurry and you know,
zoom in, zoom outs. And I wore my hair like
I never wear my hair.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
My hair is naturally curly. I never wear it curly.
Speaker 7 (14:26):
So I was like, let me just be the most
like raw, authentic version of myself and that includes my
crazy curly hair.
Speaker 4 (14:33):

So gorgeous. It's such a great video, and I love
how authentic that it is, and you could tell every
little thing about it is so intentional you really wanted
it to look that way, and and all the placements
in there. So I think it's just such a great video.

ask you so down a line, could an EP or
full length album be on the horizon at some point?

I'm so thrilled about that. And you know, you, being
a songwriter, what's your songwriting process like? Do you usually
start with like lyrics, melody concept?
Speaker 6 (15:43):
How?
Speaker 2 (15:44):
How does that work for you?
Speaker 7 (15:46):
Honestly, it really depends on my mood, right, and if
you know, or if I'm doing a co write or
if I'm writing by myself.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
If I'm writing by.
Speaker 7 (15:56):
Myself, it's usually lyrics first and then melodies. And I
do that like on my keyboard at home because I
don't play guitar, but I can play piano, and so
if I'm by myself as doing that, if it's a
co write, I usually go in and you know, as
a songwriter, my note section in my phone has just

thousands of random voice memos and random phrases written down
that I don't even remember doing most of the time,
and just kind of like start talking with whoever I'm
in the room with whoever I'm writing with, and a
lot of times light bulbs just come from having conversations,
and like, for example, with Human and my song Easy
(16:43):
from last year, both of those I wrote with my
best friend, who is Emily Vaughn, and she's an incredible
songwriter as well, and so we wrote this together. And
writing with your best friend is very easy because they
know you better than anyone, so right becomes a very smooth,
(17:03):
the easy transition because she would be like, oh, I
think you would.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
Say this in this part. I'm like, you know what,
you're right, girl, You're right.
Speaker 6 (17:10):
Yeah, Like, you know what, You're right. I love that.

Yeah, absolutely, I could see that, and you know it's
it's so and I'm sure it's so much more fun
as well, you know, working with a friend because you
guys can just have a glass as well.

BMO Pavilion with Russell Dickerson.

Oh my gosh, I did so excited. I know, I'm
very excited.

This will be my fourth time playing Summer Fast in
my career, which is crazy. And the last time I
played it was back in twenty nineteen, so it's been
a minute. Yeah, and that I am just I'm so excited.
This will be my first time being on the BMO Pavilion, and.

I mean with those two dudes, I could not ask.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
For a more fun like little lineup for the three
of us for that night. So I'm very excited.

And I get to go back to Wisconsin and that's
like a second home for me. So I went to
college there and have just so many friends there and
just so many people and it's like a hometown show
for me basically.

So I love I love playing there. What a win win, yeah,
I know, like coming back, guys.

I feel like, I mean, I'm everyone is, but I'm
obviously obsessed with Ella's album, and I feel like we
could do like a brunette power duo situation.

Yeah.

I could see you and Ella vibing very well together. Actually, yeah,
I could see.
Speaker 7 (20:24):
That Brunettes have to stick together, you know, exact very
many of us in the country.

Let me tell you I am here for it. The
next one question that I have for you while performing,
because you you performed quite a bit out. You're a
great entertainer. Have you ever had any You're very welcome.
Have you ever had any embarrassing on stage moments or
something that was an on stage mishap that just didn't

go as planned? Oh a lot of them years.
Speaker 7 (20:58):
But I will say it is funny because there's one
time where and this is where like props for my band,
Like they're literally like my brothers at this point, and
because we've been together for so many years and they
like know me so well, they'll be like.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
They will literally just come up and like fix whatever.
Speaker 6 (21:18):
Like yeah, they see something.
Speaker 7 (21:21):
If they see something, they will literally just come up
and like if I have like a rogue hair or
something like, they will just come up and be like, hey, hey,
look at me, and they'll like fix it.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
And I'm like, you guys, are.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
You need you need a good band? Everybody needs a
good band. That is a great example.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
Yes, I'm like, imagine if they would just let.

Me up there with like an.

Alfalfa on the top of my head, like they would never,
they would never. And you know, we're all like family
at this point, so we have eachilor's backs.

I mean, my my bass player is dating my best friend.

So there's such a great connection.

Yeah, so it's the best of both worlds for me.

Well, I've yet to play a stadium.

So that's you, and that may or not be happening
this year, which I can't announce yet.

Sure m will be soon and yeah, hoping that will happen.

But also a stadium, but also I would love I
have yet to play one of.

Like the official CMA Fest stages. I've played a lot of.

CMA Fest shows, like CMA sponsored shows like all that,
but maybe you have to play like you know, the
Riverfront stage or the Doctor like that stuff.

So that's one thing I'd like to check off my list.

Cooper Riley, Hi, how are you doing doing wonderful? Thank

Thank you.

Your new single out of Time is incredible. Tell us
about the song, your inspiration behind it, tell us all
about it.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
Yeah, so I wrote it four ish months ago, and
you know, I was just kind of in a position
at the time where I was just kind of felt
a little stuck and didn't know the right way to
you know, keep moving forward.
Speaker 4 (02:12):
And you know, so I wrote it about you know, in.
Speaker 5 (02:15):
This industry, you feel like you're just watching the clock
take in front of your face. And I feel like
if you spend more time, you know, on meeting people
and growing as an artist and and things like that,
you could be more successful that way. So it's just
kind of something to lift me up, but then also
lift people up that listen to it and can resonate
with it.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
What has the response been like from fans with out
of Time so far? What have you been getting?
Speaker 5 (02:40):
Uh, just kind of you know that they they like
how you know, it's it's a little bit different than
my past songs that I put out, and just kind
of the more upbeat, kind of different type of style
and that you know, it kind of resonates with people
as well that you know, it was something that they
didn't really realize until they heard it.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yes, and I really really love your sound, and I
love the rhythm of this song in particular. So for
those who have not had the opportunity to hear you yet,
how would you best describe your sound?
Speaker 5 (03:13):
I would go, you know, kind of a bluesy country
type of sound, where you know, I got the southern twang,
but then I also got the blue soul since I'm
from Memphis, Tennessee.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Yes, Memphis. I love that. I definitely hear it. It's
just such a great song out of time, and it's
available now on all of the social on all of
the platforms that you get your music today, so please
make sure you check it out, everybody. And I seen
that you grew up in a musical family. What was that?
Like I always say, growing up in a musical family
(03:45):
is the best way to grow up.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
Absolutely.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
My mom's side of the family is from Jones Borar, Arkansas,
which is right over the Memphis Bridge. But you know,
I grew up kind of on that side of the
family because that's that thing that you either play an instrument,
sing or do both, so it was kind of I
guess in my blood in a way, I kind of
just grew up around it and ended up loving it,
and you know, I just kind of always did that
(04:11):
with them. And then in middle school I was in
the Memphis Boys Choir, which was cool.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
So I've just you know, I've always had a love
for music.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
And yeah, that's amazing. It's in your blood. It's always
been around you. I can definitely tell from just how
you speak so so highly about music and how much
you love it. And I wanted to talk about this
because I hear that you have more music plans to
be released throughout twenty twenty six. Anything you could tell
us about that as of yet, you.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
Know, there's still kind of some things in the process,
you know, kind of figuring out the next step of.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
Music. You know, I have a bunch of.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
Songs, just a matter of what's on one I want
to do next, but definitely some great you know, we
got some happy, fun songs.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
We got a couple of sad songs. So it's just
kind of some good stuff on the way.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Yes, you have a great range. I'm so excited to
hear that because it sounds like you have such a
great range of music for just about any mood that
anyone could be feeling at any particular time.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
I like that.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
That's wonderful and hopefully hopefully maybe a full length album
down the line at some point as well, you never.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
Know, most definitely, most definitely yes.

Wow, it was it was amazing.

I mean, there's just that's an amazing event that Bobby
Jacobs put on.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
Puts on a bunch of great, you know.
Speaker 5 (06:27):
Industry people, a bunch of great artists, and then a
bunch of people that you know, love music and you know,
and that, and for when it comes to nap with
a bunch of people that like wine. I could tell
you that, but but no, I mean, overall, it was
an amazing event. I got to meet a lot of
cool people and make a lot of great connections and
play my music for people who haven't heard of me yet.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
That's wonderful. It sounds like a lot of fun.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
And you know, being being a music artist traveling, I'm
sure for you is just so much fun. Is there
somewhere that you would love to performed that you haven't
had the opportunity yet? It could be anywhere in the world.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
I've always wanted to play Red Rocks.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
Yes, yeah, I think that'd be awesome.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
Oh, that would be It's such a gorgeous venue.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
It's just so young beautiful.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Oh yeah, I could see it. I could see it
happening where you are now. I can see the trajectory.
You're only up from here. I am looking forward to
seeing what what is next for you, and I hope

out there today that you would love to collaborate with?

It could be you know, maybe songwriting, maybe a duet.
Who would that be?
Speaker 5 (07:45):
I'd say probably Caim and Marla. I really love his
music and his his style of music.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
But then also his voice is just insane. It's out
of this world.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Oh yeah, I can see you two vibing very well. Actually,
I can see it.
Speaker 4 (08:00):

I hope that happens for you for sure. And you know,
on the topic as we talked about performing, have you
ever had any embarrassing on stage moments or or maybe
some on stage mishaps that you could share with us anything?
Speaker 4 (08:16):
Uh, let's see.
Speaker 5 (08:17):
I was playing a gig in Lake Tahoe, California. It
was kind of sort of late last year, and I
was just playing a few songs whatever, and I literally
forgot the words to the whole second verse and I
was like, oh no, I was like, I literally wrote
this song, Like how do I forget this.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
But I mean I've had that happen.
Speaker 5 (08:39):
I played something in Colorado too, and I didn't even
realize it. I was sick at the time too, so
I was kind of barely holding on.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
But I sang the second verse twice with that. It
was a whole thing.
Speaker 5 (08:51):
But people ended up just like not even realizing it
at least I hope.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
But right, That's the funny part about it is you
you obviously know when you're making a mist, but when
when the audience is there, most of the time they
do not catch it, which is.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
Great as long as you're confident about it. No one
says anything exactly.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
It's all about how you recover and how you how
you do it.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
Yes, exactly, I love that.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
And who are some of your musical inspirations growing up?
You know, who did you really listen to and still
today listen to.
Speaker 5 (09:22):
You know, it's really all over the place because my
dad was kind of the the countryside, and then my
mom was, you know, with her family, it's kind of
the bluesy and pop and stuff like that. So you know,
I grew up listening to John may Or, Keith Whitley,
George Stra, Michael Jackson, justin Timberley, and then my sister
(09:43):
always played justin bieber and all that stuff.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
So it's kind of all over the place.
Speaker 5 (09:46):
But when it comes to kind of people that that
I kind of based my music with, you know, I
go John may or, Keith Whitley, Chris Stapleton.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
You know, it's it's kind of just.
Speaker 5 (09:59):
Really all over the place in a way, but I
try to kind of keep it into uh, you know,
a country bluesy type stuff.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
So sure, oh yes, you listed all of my favorites,
so I hear it.
Speaker 6 (10:12):
That's wonderful.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
You have great you have. You have great, great music inspirations,
that's for sure. And then the last fun question that
I have for you to wrap on up here is
probably the craziest question you'll ever get in your life,
but I love it. If you could be any animal
in the wild, what animal best personality wise do you
think suits you? What would you be?
Speaker 5 (10:33):
You never gotten that question before, you may never have
it again.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Probably a lion, Okay, I see it, I see it.
Speaker 5 (10:42):
Okay, something kind of you know, fierce and always going
after something.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
For sure. Yeah, you have the you have like the
stamina and you're just you're after what you want to
get Yeah, for.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
Sure, exactly.

Absolutely. I love that great, great answer you had. You

I have such a good message behind it, and I
think everyone has felt some you know, felt this before
in their lives. Very relatable. So can you share the
inspiration behind Human for those who may not have heard
it yet?
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Yeah, So Human is kind of.
Speaker 6 (11:52):
Piggybacking off of.
Speaker 7 (11:56):
My single before it, which was I'm just Fine, and
so it's kind of like an extension of that in
my mind as a songwriter. A songwriter, Yeah, but basically
I feel like, especially in today's world, it's we forget
that the only thing we have in common is that

we're all human, and we need to give ourselves grace
and everyone around us grace because at the end of
the day, no matter.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
What you believe, who you are, where you live, what
you do.
Speaker 7 (12:29):
Any absolutely anything about you, the one thing we all
will have in common forever.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Is that we are all human.
Speaker 6 (12:36):
Hm.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Absolutely, and we are not perfect and mistakes are just
fine exactly. I love that it's such a wonderful song
and Human is out now on all streaming platforms. So
what kind of response have you been getting from fans
so far? I'm sure it's been wonderful.
Speaker 7 (12:50):
Oh my gosh, it's been so great, just like the
messages and like dms and just all the comments and
everything of people being like, oh my gosh, I you know,
this makes me feel good about myself, or just people
people getting a reminder that just be nice to each
other because we are all the same at the root
(13:13):
and so and or people's stories about just not feeling
good enough or feeling like they're failing at life or
things like that, and just sharing those things with me. Like,
as a songwriter, that is all you can ask for.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Oh yeah, absolutely, that's that's the goal really as a songwriter,
is that you can do something to touch, to touch people,
to touch humans. And it's such a wonderfully song. Yes,
and you also for those out there who are visual
beings like MOI, you have an official visualizer out for
human as well, and I feel like it really compliments
the song and I really enjoy Like in the background

all of the photos, where did you film this so cozy?
Speaker 7 (13:54):
I know, I filmed it here in Nashville at this old,
like nineteen twenties house.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
And that was the decor of the house I walked in.
I was like, this is the vibe.
Speaker 7 (14:08):
And we did it there, and I wanted it to
me more raw looking, so like there's blurry you know,
there's spots where the camera goes blurry and you know,
zoom in, zoom outs. And I wore my hair like
I never wear my hair.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
My hair is naturally curly. I never wear it curly.
Speaker 7 (14:26):
So I was like, let me just be the most
like raw, authentic version of myself and that includes my
crazy curly hair.
Speaker 4 (14:33):

So gorgeous. It's such a great video, and I love
how authentic that it is, and you could tell every
little thing about it is so intentional you really wanted
it to look that way, and and all the placements
in there. So I think it's just such a great video.

I'm so thrilled about that. And you know, you, being
a songwriter, what's your songwriting process like? Do you usually
start with like lyrics, melody concept?
Speaker 6 (15:43):
How?
Speaker 2 (15:44):
How does that work for you?
Speaker 7 (15:46):
Honestly, it really depends on my mood, right, and if
you know, or if I'm doing a co write or
if I'm writing by myself.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
If I'm writing by.
Speaker 7 (15:56):
Myself, it's usually lyrics first and then melodies. And I
do that like on my keyboard at home because I
don't play guitar, but I can play piano, and so
if I'm by myself as doing that, if it's a
co write, I usually go in and you know, as
a songwriter, my note section in my phone has just
(16:19):
thousands of random voice memos and random phrases written down
that I don't even remember doing most of the time,
and just kind of like start talking with whoever I'm
in the room with whoever I'm writing with, and a
lot of times light bulbs just come from having conversations,
and like, for example, with Human and my song Easy
(16:43):
from last year, both of those I wrote with my
best friend, who is Emily Vaughn, and she's an incredible
songwriter as well, and so we wrote this together. And
writing with your best friend is very easy because they
know you better than anyone, so right becomes a very smooth,
(17:03):
the easy transition because she would be like, oh, I
think you would.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
Say this in this part. I'm like, you know what,
you're right, girl, You're right.
Speaker 6 (17:10):
Yeah, Like, you know what, You're right. I love that.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Yeah, absolutely, I could see that, and you know it's
it's so and I'm sure it's so much more fun
as well, you know, working with a friend because you
guys can just have a glass as well.

Oh my gosh, I did so excited. I know, I'm
very excited.

This will be my fourth time playing Summer Fast in
my career, which is crazy. And the last time I
played it was back in twenty nineteen, so it's been
a minute. Yeah, and that I am just I'm so excited.
This will be my first time being on the BMO Pavilion, and.

I mean with those two dudes, I could not ask.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
For a more fun like little lineup for the three
of us for that night. So I'm very excited.

And I get to go back to Wisconsin and that's
like a second home for me. So I went to
college there and have just so many friends there and
just so many people and it's like a hometown show
for me basically.

So I love I love playing there. What a win win, yeah,

obviously obsessed with Ella's album, and I feel like we
could do like a brunette power duo situation.

I could see you and Ella vibing very well together. Actually, yeah,

That Brunettes have to stick together, you know, exact very
many of us in the country.

next one question that I have for you while performing,
because you you performed quite a bit out. You're a
great entertainer. Have you ever had any You're very welcome.
Have you ever had any embarrassing on stage moments or
something that was an on stage mishap that just didn't

go as planned? Oh a lot of them years.
Speaker 7 (20:58):
But I will say it is funny because there's one
time where and this is where like props for my band,
Like they're literally like my brothers at this point, and
because we've been together for so many years and they
like know me so well, they'll be like.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
They will literally just come up and like fix whatever.
Speaker 6 (21:18):
Like yeah, they see something.
Speaker 7 (21:21):
If they see something, they will literally just come up
and like if I have like a rogue hair or
something like, they will just come up and be like, hey, hey,
look at me, and they'll like fix it.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
And I'm like, you guys, are.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
You need you need a good band? Everybody needs a
good band. That is a great example.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
Yes, I'm like, imagine if they would just let.

Me up there with like an.
Speaker 7 (21:43):
Alfalfa on the top of my head, like they would never,
they would never. And you know, we're all like family
at this point, so we have eachilor's backs.

I mean, my my bass player is dating my best friend.

So oh perfect.

So there's such a great connection.

Yeah, so it's the best of both worlds for me.

Well, I've yet to play a stadium.

So that's you, and that may or not be happening
this year, which I can't announce yet.

Sure m will be soon and yeah, hoping that will happen.

But also a stadium, but also I would love I
have yet to play one of.

Like the official CMA Fest stages. I've played a lot of.

CMA Fest shows, like CMA sponsored shows like all that,
but maybe you have to play like you know, the
Riverfront stage or the Doctor like that stuff.

So that's one thing I'd like to check off my list.
