On Black Monday, the Lions fired OC John Morton. Recently fired Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is one of the candidates the Lions are interested in interviewing for the opening. DC Kelvin Sheppard is expected to keep his position.
When asked to grade his own performance, MCDC gave himself a "freaking F." GM Brad Holmes went with "fail."
The Detroit Pistons enter the week at 28-10, holding a 3.5 game lead over the Knicks for the top seed in the East.
In what was their most impressive win of the season, the Pistons destroyed the Knicks 121-90 in a nationally televised playoff rematch.
The Pistons are also battling the injury bug again. Cunningham, Duren, Harris, and Stewart sat out a 98-92 loss to the Clippers.
The Detroit Red Wings have finally retired the #91 of Hall of Fame forward Sergei Fedorov.
The Wings continue to hold onto first place in the Atlantic (2nd overall in the East) at 27-15-4 and 58 points. They are 7-2-1 in their last ten and have improved their goal differential to +3.
The Wings are riding the back of red-hot G John Gibson, who is 12-2-0, 2.01 GA, 0.932 SV% since the start of December. He's essentially become a brick wall.
