Day 333 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. In Daniel 4:19-5:16, King Nebuchadnezzar has a dream of a tree being cut down, which Daniel interprets as a warning from God that the king will lose his sanity for seven years to learn that God rules all kingdoms. This prophecy is fulfilled, and the king eventually acknowledges God's sovereignty. Later, King Belshazzar, Nebuchadnezzar's successor, offends God by using sacred temple cups during a feast. A mysterious hand writes on the wall, and Daniel is called to interpret the message, which is a divine warning. These events emphasize the theme of recognizing and respecting God's supreme authority.
In 2 Peter 3, Peter talks about the end of the world and Jesus' return. He explains that people might doubt because it's taking a long time, but God doesn't see time like we do. A day for Him can be like a thousand years. God is patient because He wants everyone to have a chance to turn to Him. Peter warns that the day of the Lord will come unexpectedly and everything will be destroyed by fire. But there will be a new, wonderful world where only good lives. He encourages us to live holy and godly lives while we wait, always ready for Jesus' return. This chapter reminds us to be patient and live well, always ready for God's promises.
