Day 334 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE.
In Daniel 5:17-6:28, Daniel interprets mysterious writing for King Belshazzar, warning of the king's downfall, which happens that night. Later, under King Darius, Daniel is respected but faces jealousy. His enemies trick the king into making a law that bans prayer to anyone but the king. Daniel keeps praying to God and is thrown into a lions' den as punishment. Miraculously, he's unharmed because God protects him. The king, seeing this, praises God and punishes those who plotted against Daniel.
In 1 John 1-2:11, John writes about living in God's light. He explains that God is light and in Him, there's no darkness. If we say we're with God but live in darkness, we're not truthful. But if we live in God's light, we have fellowship with each other, and Jesus cleanses us from sin. John encourages us to confess our sins because God is faithful to forgive. He also talks about obeying God's commands, loving others, and not loving the world or its desires. John reminds us that loving our brother or sister is a sign of living in the light.
