On this episode of the Shepherdcast, we will be taking a look at the Gospel readings of (in the order they are read on the podcast) John 11:43-53, Mark 14:32-42, Matthew 26:47-56, Matthew 26:69-75, Mark 15:8-20, Luke 23:26-43, Luke 23:44-49, and John 19:38-42 as we remember the Crucifixion of Our Lord. Today’s episode came from our Good Friday worship service on Friday, April 19, 2019 Good Friday marks the second of the Three Days. The service format which we elect to use on Good Friday is called Tenebrae, or darkness. We have elected to use this format in tonight’s and last night’s podcasts. In case you are reading along with a Bible and our readings don’t necessarily match up with yours, we use the NRSV translation of the Holy Bible. Our readings are delivered by the Reverend Scott J. Anderson. Our sound room technician for Good Friday was Jacob Schandel. This podcast was hosted and produced by Jacob H. Schandel for Shepherd of the Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church.
