On this special episode of the Shepherdcast, we begin our podcast’s first ever Spotlight on Outreach series, where we will sit down with representatives from both outreach groups at our church and nonprofits in our community to talk about their ministry and, if the spirit moves you, how you can help them. This week, Jacob Schandel sits down with Susan Kaschak, who wears many hats both in our congregation and in our community (president of the Tuscarawas Valley Board of Education (Go Trojans!), musician and choir director for our church). However, today’s interview focuses on Susan’s work as she helps run Shepherd’s Kitchen, our church’s free community meal and longest running outreach program. Shepherd’s Kitchen is held every month on the second Friday with bingo beginning at 3:30 PM followed by the meal at 4:30 PM. On the podcast today, you can learn about this ministry’s reach and, if the spirit so moves you, all of the ways you can help this ministry. You can learn more about Shepherd’s Kitchen on our church website at their page, www.sotvchurch.com/sk. Today’s interview episode was recorded on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 for publication on Wednesday, July 10, 2019. We thank Susan Kaschak again for taking time out of her schedule to come onto the podcast this week to talk about Shepherd’s Kitchen. This podcast was hosted and produced by Jacob H. Schandel for Shepherd of the Valley Evangelical Lutheran Church. To learn more about our church, please visit www.sotvchurch.com, or follow us on social media @sotvsandyville.
