Over a period of 10 weeks, 7 Police Officers and 7 community members come together to eat, talk, and play together at the Irondale Center in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. They learn to improvise, tell their own stories, and “step into each other’s shoes.” The goal is not necessarily to find resolution or agreement but understanding. The Irondale Ensemble Project continues to facilitate rounds of To Protect, Serve and Understand and we've decided to bring together past participants of the program to give you a window into our conversations.
