Fiat Multipla má povesť jedného z najškaredších áut na svete. Pre Janku a Ivana Buštorovcov sa však stal nielen domovom na kolesách, ale aj súčasťou ich identity. Auto pomenovali Ugly Duck a so „škaredným káčatkom“ sa vybrali na druhý kontinent. Ich plán bol ambiciózny: navštíviť všetky juhoamerické krajiny a dostať sa do najvzdialenejších bodov kontinentu.
Po štrnástich mesiacoch a 45-tisíc kilometroch na cestách stihli s autom s typickou kačicou na kapote prejsť soľnú púšť, nechali si auto vysvätiť, zdolali výškové rekordy, dostali sa na rozblatené cesty, kde naozaj nemali byť a prišli aj na samotný koniec Južnej Ameriky, čo oslávili s kofolou.
„V Bolívii sme olej dolievali každých pár kilometrov, rátali sme kvapky a to, kedy nám vytečie celá nádrž,“ spomína Jana na jeden z najkritickejších momentov, keď sa vydali na neupravenú terénnu cestu a poškodili prevodovku. Technické problémy a hodiny u automechanikov sú súčasťou takejto cesty. Na Multiplu však paradoxne pasujú aj dielce z Ferrari.
Dvojica postupne prešla z Kolumbie cez Ekvádor, Peru, Bolíviu, Čile a Argentínu na najjužnejší cíp Južnej Ameriky. Každá krajina pritom bola iná – čo sa týka zvykov, kvality vozovky aj bezpečnosti. „V Kolumbii nás varovali: nechoďte do lesa – sú tam míny, nechoďte bosí – sú tam škorpióny, a neparkujte pri policajtoch – po nich sa strieľa,“ sumarizujú. Rizikom je údajne aj rande cez Tinder.
