Speaker 1 (01:57):
William Scott of Tulsa.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Congratulations William, as he's now in the running. Another chance
coming up very soon. Have you seen the story about
the neighborhood that exploded in Philadelphia? Yeah, the footage of
it is crazy. For those that haven't heard. Sunday morning,
there was an explosion in a Philadelphia neighborhood. Three attached
row houses completely exploded and five other homes suffered damage
(02:23):
broken windows, partial structural collapse. They found one person dead,
an elderly lady. They're not sure exactly what caused it.
A fire did start and it took about an hour
and forty minutes to get it under control. Sixty firefighters responded,
search and rescue dogs. Homes obviously had to be evacuated.
(02:44):
Like I said, they don't know that what caused that.
I can't fathom this, no, I know. Now, I've lived
in townhome scenarios like what happened there. When I lived
in San Francisco, I lived in that kind of setup,
you know, where the houses are very close to each other.
So here, it would probably not happen that way unless
you lived in downtown or something like that. But I
(03:08):
can't even like, even having to leave your home because
of something like that is wild.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
I was thinking probably maybe maybe a gas leak.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Yeah, I mean that is obviously a predicted thing, but
that's a pretty massive gas leak to destroy that many homes.
How long was it going on? What caused it? This
isn't you know? You left your stove on? And I
was like, I was curious how often this happens? Because
we talk about sharks, sure, and how dangerous those are,
(03:39):
and it, you know, eats the news. This says per
this has Studies estimated about two point two explosions per
million housing unions each year in the US, So with
the one hundred and forty million homes, that works out to
about three hundred major gas related blasts annually. That's a lot.
(04:01):
It's like almost one every day, Yeah, it is.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
There was a earlier in the this just this last spring,
there was a day we have our our grill outside
is hooked up to natural gas, and Kevin called me
one day in a panic and said, hey, check the grill.
I think I may have left it on when when
(04:26):
I grilled, which was like over twenty four hours later,
and sure enough, got home, checked it and there was
one of the five I think five burners was on.
It was on low, but it was on.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Yeah, but that's burning gas, so that's not like a gas.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Leak, true. But it freaked me out, sure, you know,
because what if it had just blown out?
Speaker 2 (04:56):
What if the you know, yeah, all fair And I
don't know if that would be enough to cause an explosion,
especially outside. Yeah maybe I don't know. I've done that too,
I've left it on. But my youngest or my oldest
was like, hey, do you know the grills on like
she could see the knob was turned.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Oh you're like, ah.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Yeah. By the way, fewer than ten people worldwide are
killed by sharks each year.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
Yeah, thanks jazz.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
In twenty twenty three was the dead last year for
gas fed homes and building explosion in two decades. Twenty
three fatalities were reported, more than four times the prior
year's total. In Philadelphia. Apparently it happens a lot. It
happened in twenty nineteen where two people were killed, leveled
(05:46):
five row houses, and twenty twenty one six home evacuations
after an explosion early twenty twenty three, multiple homes damaged.
It happened in June earlier this month as well, all
these in Philadelphia.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Yeah, what's going on in Philly?
Speaker 2 (06:07):
I don't know. Unless they're like old pipes, I don't
know that's true.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
Maybe they're not being updated.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
It's not the oldest city in America. Yeah, but we
I feel like they maybe they I don't know. I
don't know if they need to tell us to hey,
watch out for gas leaks. But I feel like it
doesn't get as much attention as sharks. It's very true,
(06:38):
and sharks barely kill people. I think ten less than
ten is barely yeah, in a year.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Maybe they are getting the warnings sent from their gas
companies and they just throw it away. It's not a bill,
so they're just not reading it, throwing it away junk
mail when they should be reading.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
I mean, what is that going to how's that going
to stop you from an explosion happening.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
I don't know. Maybe they're telling them, hey, we're doing
updates in the area, you need to do this so
and they're ignoring it.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
The only time I've had interaction with the gas company
outside of setting up my account or paying my bill
was when they showed up at my house unannounced and
they were like, we need to check your house, of
which I was confused by, and they said that we
(07:33):
have a suspicious level of gas usage compared to our
average and we need to check for a gas leak.
Sure enough, they found that my water heater was failing,
and I had it was leaking gas. It was just
unbeknownst to me. So I feel like they have a
(07:56):
proactive system for that, least at least O and G does.
Maybe P and G Pennsylvania naturally, maybe they don't do
that way. One hundred and eighty million American visit coastal
areas each year to swim, fish, boat, or just relax.
(08:17):
So that's two point two billion beach trips annually and
only ten fewer than ten. Yeah, get killed by sharks. Listen,
any deaths of bad death. But that's not it. That's zero.
It's pretty much zero. We got to stop with the
shark thing. It's a little much.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
There's gas explosions out there.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
There's gas explosions.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Yeah, this Tex says I lived in Savannah, Georgia, and
a team got met at his parents, cranked up the
gas on the stove, loaded his stuff in his car,
and the water heater kicked on. The house exploded, and
the houses on either side had their siding melted off
and windows blown out. Kid was killed.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Kid was killed. How did he I thought he left
the house?
Speaker 1 (09:04):
I guess not. Maybe maybe it was another kid.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
And how long did it run for it to do that? Yeah,
because they always show uh like in uh, What's a
Shooter the Marky Mark movie And when he leaves, he
pops the gas line and then he's not even one
hundred yards from the house and it explodes.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
Maybe it wasn't even that. Maybe it was a meth lab.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
Well, I think you can't just add stuff, Lindsay, Now
you're just making up a story anyway, just a while story.
I can't imagine. I hope that poor old woman that died.
I hope that she h that happened instantly and she
didn't have to. She wasn't laying there on the ground
covered in rubble like hoping someone would find her and
(09:57):
just died. That would be absolute horrible. All Right, we
got to take a break. We've got tickets we're gonna
give away to see the Toadies. We got best and
worsh the weekend. Our listeners are awesome and more qualifying
for k Modi's fifty for fifty. We'll be back.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
More of The Big Men Morning Show is next ninety nine.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
It's time for news quakies, World news, local news, and
news that just makes you say, what the Here's Corby
Gimbe and Lindsay with what's going on news quakies from
The Big Man Morning Show in nineties.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
One of five.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
A woman leaves car to remove log from road finds
it's a twenty foot snake. So this happened in Australia,
where Kat Finnerty said she was. It was late at
night and it was dark, so she was coming in
(10:52):
this road and it had stormed. She was driving into
the rainforest and what she thought was a mass of
a log. She wanted to move out of the road
so she and anyone else driving down this road wouldn't
hit it and ruin their vehicle. So she admits to
having a healthy fear of snakes. She gets out of
(11:14):
her car and just as she is about to grab
this log she does, it turns and it moves surprisingly quickly,
and she thankfully didn't strike her, but it made her
jump and nearly soil her pants. And it was no,
(11:37):
it was no log. It was in fact a twenty
foot anaconda.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Wow. Yeah, yeah, and though.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Not venomous, she says she's lucky it just it mosied
on its way and away fast. But she said, yeah,
very very scary situation. Not something she would have ever
thought happening to her. She knows that they're around all
the time, you know, being in Australia, but you know,
(12:09):
that was a first for her.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
And she didn't take a picture of it. No, No,
who's picking up a twenty foot log? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (12:20):
I mean I think maybe not picking it up necessarily,
but maybe scooting it or pushing it out of the way.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Not twenty feet. Yeah, it's gonna weigh some. It's gonna
be hefty.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
Yeah sure, I would think right depending. I mean it
could have been if it's dead, it could have been
hollowed out. It might not be as heavy as it looks.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
I mean twenty feet is two stories. Yeah, right, so
you're gonna you are gonna get out of your car
and move something that's that long.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
You might or not.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Oh I don't know.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
You might try or just just push it away and
off to get your vehicle around it.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Yeah, I don't know. That's crazy. Yeah, I'm running. I'm
not even if the moment I see it's a snake,
I'm running for the hills. I don't want anything to
do with that. That's that feels crazy.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
I would absolutely be frozen if I seen that.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Yes, yes, I don't know what's happening with our stuff.
But I can't see my stories.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Oh no, well I can read my other one.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
Go ahead yet, all right?
Speaker 1 (13:33):
M see twelve year old arrested after stealing cars and
selling them. This happened in Pontiac, Michigan, where it's the
first place I ever ate at a Big Boy restaurant.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Oh good Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
On June twenty seventh, a twelve year old boy was
caught stealing multiple cars in separate incidents from a business
in Pontiac. According to the Oakland count Sheriff's Office, the
boy sold at least one of the stolen cars for
as little as thirty dollars. Please say this young man
is on a very bad path, attempting to live his
(14:11):
own grand theft to auto. Oakland County Sheriff Michael A.
Bouchard said, hopefully intervention by the courts will send him
on a better life path, as well as stopping the
constant theft from this business. Bouchard said, the boy is
suspected in a series of thefts from this business. The
boy is being held in Oakland County Children's Village. His
(14:33):
name and the name of the business were not released.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Children's village, Yeah, you.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Mean prison exactly. When arrested on Friday, the boy was
seen entering several vehicles and had a license plate with him.
Police said the boy had taken at least three vehicles
over the past month from this same business.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
Has he been caught all those times? And charge with
all those times. Are they just saying that he's been
seen doing that?
Speaker 1 (14:59):
He's been ah three times.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
I mean, good news is he's going to get caught
a lot because thirty dollars is not a that is
not a good business venture. No, you're not going to
make very much money doing that.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Dang twelve years old.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
I mean, I hear you. But if you grow up
on the streets, you're not. It's a different world, that's true.
You're learning to adapt, you're making money. Thirty dollars is
not a good move though. No, I remember the story
we talked about this UFC. Former UFC fighter Bjpinn asks
judge for identity verification of his mother. So UFC Hall
(15:37):
of Famer Bjpinn has been asking a judge to do
identity verification of his mom. See, his mom has a
restraining order on him. This comes after he recently claimed
on social media that an identical impostor has taken the
place of his mother.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Oh yeah, that's right.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
On Tuesday, Penn asked the family court judge to vacate
the temporary restraining order his mother has against him. He
also asked for a supervised identity verification. He says it
would be a very thorough identity test to make sure
this unknown woman found the restraining order against him is
actually his mother. The judge said, no, I don't. I mean,
(16:19):
I don't know how. I don't know what an identity
verification process is.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Yeah, besides a DNA test, and that's like for the dad, right, like.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
Well, I mean that's that can use it for that,
but I don't know, I don't know how the I don't.
You can't force the other person to.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Do it, not.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
For something like that. And and think about him too,
like he's in a mental crisis or he's not, and
we're the ones that are trained.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
Yeah, we said earlier that he was playing the like
the chick on the airplane, This is not real. Yeah,
he's losing his mind in that way.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
If he's part of the simulation, like he's seen the
other side of the simulation. And then you think that
the judge is there to help you, and he's like, no,
it's going to push you further into crisis.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
So what was his claim initially? Is he thinking that his.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
Family's been replaced, right, right, But that's his initial claim.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
Yeah, but are they trying to extort money from him?
Like do is he.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
He just says they're not his family. And what do
you do when you have people that are strangers? You
want them not in your home. Yeah, that's crazy. Karen
Reid inks deal for screen adaptation of murder case.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Knew it was coming.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Karen Reid, for those who don't know, is the woman
in the Boston area who's been accused. I'm sorry it
was accused of killing her police officer boyfriend. She claimed,
and apparently had enough proof that the police did it
and they tried to pin it on her. Karen Reid
is signing a deal to develop a screen adaptation of
(18:06):
her murder case. Earlier this month, Read was acquitted of
second degree murder manslaughter chargers in the death of a
Boston cop boyfriend, John O'Keefe. Reid's defense has argued she
was framed by other police officers for o'keith's murder. Now, Reading,
her defense attorney are partnering with LBI Productions to develop
a project that reportedly will contain details of her story
(18:28):
not yet made public. Here's the thing that's gonna make
a lot of money.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Yes it will.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
People are gonna watch it, and apparently some of the
evidence will showed text messages between the police officers of
the worst way to try and cover up something. Oh wow,
like they I'm not gonna say they killed him. I
don't know, but it does appear that they were trying
to frame her.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
Yeah, they and that they got rid of a lot
of stuff before the try, like a dog. For example,
there were markings on John O'Keefe's body that looked that
that could have been mistaken for dog bite marks or
(19:13):
at least dog scratch marks on his on his arm,
on his four arms. And the next day from the
house that he was at, the homeowners had gotten rid
of that dog, their family pet.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
Yeah, and they were like what it was just a thing,
Like they tried to play it off, like what, people
just get rid of dogs all the time. Yes. Uh.
The part that's crazy to me is there's no way
this is the only time they've done that.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
Right, And then they were like cleanly, he never showed
up at our house, he never came in.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Yeah, and they have proof that he was in the house. Yeah. Yeah,
it's a crazy story. Well, we're gonna get a TV
show about it, so we'll see. All these stories are
on our Facebook page at Facebook dot com Slash, BMMS
sixty nine, tell.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
USA's Morning Show is coming right, a big quarter show.

Speaker 2 (20:27):

vacation already, So we're going to forge ahead and we
qualified another person for kmod's fifty for fifty all to
celebrate fifty years of Miller Lyte. Who do we qualify?
Speaker 5 (20:39):
Lindsay James Carter of Hobart. Congratulations, congratulations to him. You
know the chances coming up very soon, so make sure
you're listening for that Q to play every hour with us.
It's time for best and Worst of the weekend. What's
the best thing that happened this weekend and the worst
thing that happened this weekend? BMMS and whatever that is
to eight two.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Nine four five b MMS Space and then what's the
best and worst? You we can weekend to the phone
number eight two nine four five, lindsay what's the best
and what's the worst?
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Well, last week Kevin and I celebrated our sixteenth wedding anniversary,
and so over the weekend we got the hell out
of town and went to the lake and celebrated together
and did a little camp and Saturday night and spent
the day.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
By yourself on the water. Yeah, left the kids at home.
Speaker 6 (21:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
Is that the first time you've done that and overnight?
Speaker 1 (21:27):
No? No, but it's been a while. It's been a while,
and we're a little nervous because, you know, we got
the new puppy, so we had to trust them to
take care of the dog, and that was kind of
a mistake. But I mean they're just you know, they're
they're getting used to the dog just as much as
(21:49):
we all are, you know. But anyway, what happened, I mean,
it's potty training. It's tough. Yeah, they don't realize it's constant.
They felt like we just took him out. It's like, yeah,
but you play with him, the dog gets excited and
he's gonna pee or poop and so and I try
explaining if you feed the cat, you got to make
(22:11):
sure that the dog is outside, so the cat will eat.
And if you just feed the cat a little bit,
he will finish its food. And if it doesn't finish
its food, the dog's gonna eat it and it's gonna
upset the dog's stomach, and then you know, it's gonna
be a mess to clean up, basically, So that happened
a lot, but they cleaned it up. It was It
(22:35):
was fine. We had a great time on the water.
Of course, it was beautiful. We had a good dinner
on Saturday night, and then did you go out to
eat we you know, they have a nice little restaurant
there at the marina. We just went to Fort Gibson
and we went to white Horn Cove and they had
(22:59):
steaks special on Saturday, so we had a couple of
ribbis and it was really good. And then on Sunday,
of course, it was so hot and the water was
just nice and cool and perfect. And we had bought
a new tube for the boat about a month ago,
and yesterday was the first day that we got to
(23:20):
use it, and I used it before the kids, so
that was cool. Break it in and then we called
our friends Michelle and Brad and were like, hey, you
guys live out here, you want to meet us out
and you know, come spend the day on the water
with us. So they got to spend a couple hours
with us. But before they showed up, there was this
(23:43):
guy stranded in the middle of the water on his
boat and he waved us down and Kevin pulls up
and he's like, what's going on? You are right, and
he's like, man, I'm I'm so shook it up. I'm
in a lot of trouble. We're like, what's wrong. He's like,
I blew my engine. I went and got gas and
he has an inboard outboard and I guess he didn't
turn his fans on before he started up his boat.
(24:06):
Blew his motor up, and he had passengers on his
boat that went and got picked up by someone else.
And I don't know if they were hurt or what
if they but yeah, we towed him in to his
little marina area and it was about an hour of
our time. But hey, if we were stranded, we would
(24:26):
want someone to help us, so we did that. I
guess the worst part of the weekend would be as
soon as we were coming in off the water yesterday,
the winds picked up out of nowhere, I mean out
of the west, and it was white caps just as
we are trying to get our boat in, and it
(24:49):
made it real tough to close down because we're closing
the boat down and it's just Kevin and I and
it was it was painfully tough.
Speaker 7 (24:58):
It was.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
The water was and I mean the temperature dropped probably
a good ten to fifteen degrees and it was a
little bit scary. Actually, I wasn't used to that. It
almost felt like it was being back up north on
like Michigan waters. It was a little scary. So that
(25:19):
was probably the worst. But we survived it and got
everything handled. But it was nuts there for a good
half hour. Little panic mode set in, so but no
rain got you know, we beat the rain coming home.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
So that was good, best and worst the weekend. What's
the best thing that happened this weekend? What's the worst
thing that happened this weekend? Best part of the weekend
was I started running again, which I hadn't really been
in a running regiment for a few years, and I
ran starting Friday. I did that and I ran Friday
(25:59):
and mowed the lawn and finished mowing the lawn right
when it started raining. It was nice. I felt like
I was a giant victory. I beat you and then
ran Saturday morning pretty early because I knew it was
gonna be hot. And then yesterday I was like, for
sure running before it got really hot because I knew
it was going to be a bad heat day. And
(26:23):
it was fine. I ran in total, ran five miles
total in those days. I feel like, pretty good with that,
pretty happy with that. Yeah, So that's the best part
of the weekend. Worst part of the weekend is h
I started a running regiment and I ran on Friday
and then mode the lawn, which feels wild, and couldn't
(26:49):
get off the mower because my legs hurt so bad.
And then Saturday ran and my arches hurt so bad
and it wasn't awesome, but I knew it wouldn't be
very long. Just pushed through it. And then Sunday my
hamstrings hurt so bad that that also was not I
(27:12):
was like, why am I doing this? I was questioning
my decision. So that was the best and worst of
the weekend for me.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
I was going to say, how are your knees doing good.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
I actually have. When I was a freshman in high school,
my brother and I in the summer would go work
out at the high school and we had some family
friends that also worked out in the summer. And after
when we were done, we raced back to our house.
(27:44):
We raced them back to our house, and my brother
was like, I'm taking a short cut, and he took
a shortcut, took a turn through a neighborhood and weren't
speeding right. My brother had an eighty five Chevy Silverado.
They had like a little Masda hatchback thing, and so
they also then apparently decided to take a short cut.
(28:05):
We met at an intersection and we crashed into a
greenhouse and hit one of the cement steel poles that
protect the corner of the building, and my knee went
into the dash metal dash of this eighty five Chevy
Silverado my right knee, and ever since then I get
fluid build up, and the fluid had been pretty big
(28:25):
on the knee, but since I started running, it went away.
So best and worst of the weekend. What's the best
thing that happened to you this weekend? And the worst
thing that happened to you this weekend. This says best.
My husband took down an old, nasty pool. We've had
up worst. Our yard is flooded again. I don't know
(28:49):
what's happening here. Hold on, hey be on vacation.
Speaker 7 (28:54):
Man, I ight, I want to be on vacation.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
Yeah, we're on the air man. Yeah. I was like,
why is I'm going to answer this in case something's happened.
Speaker 7 (29:08):
Well, no, nothing happened. I'm just sitting on the balcony
overlooking this beautiful white sand beach, watching the waves roll in,
drinking a cold beer. It's pretty awesome.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
Actually, you're drinking a cold beer at seven fifteen in
the morning.
Speaker 7 (29:21):
Oh yeah, I'm all vagation.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
Yeah that's true.
Speaker 7 (29:24):
What else am I supposed to do?
Speaker 1 (29:25):
Come on? No coffee?
Speaker 7 (29:28):
Oh all right, coffee. I've been up since sportclock. So
you're on vacation.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
Yeah you slept in it.
Speaker 8 (29:34):
Yeah, I slept in a little bit.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
What we're doing, we're doing best and worse. So what
was the best and worst for you?
Speaker 8 (29:40):
All right?
Speaker 7 (29:41):
So far? The best of the weekend is the ride
down here. Let me tell you that my old lady,
you know, she's never been on a bike, and so
she got with me, right, and so she was really
nervous about writing this along and she did so freaking good.
No complaints at all whatsoever. She's sat back and drew
the ride. So that was probably the best. Just a
(30:03):
beautiful write down, visiting with family that I haven't seen
her like twenty years, so that's good.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
And they like they remembered you and stuff like you
because it'd been a while.
Speaker 7 (30:13):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you can't forget me. I've got
an onund my ship like Penis, So how do you
forget me?
Speaker 8 (30:20):
Anyway?
Speaker 7 (30:20):
So yeah, that was the best part. And then writing
down here whatever worst part of the weekend probably just happened.
So me and my lady like, hey, let's go take
a little summer's walk on the beach, right, that's very cool.
Emily got these stairs over here, the boss down on
the beach, and I'll be damned. She slips on the sand,
bust your ass, scrapes, rinkle lips, and now she's laying
(30:43):
in bed.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Oh it's not broken, is it now?
Speaker 7 (30:48):
It ain't broken?
Speaker 2 (30:49):
She good. Your clumsiness is contagious.
Speaker 7 (30:51):
Yeah, I know, right, And I just mentioned prior to
that a couple of minutes ago. I was like, I
wonder how many people slip down these st and then
so there.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
She goes, Yeah, you manifested it on your girlfriend.
Speaker 8 (31:06):
I did.
Speaker 7 (31:06):
Why can't I manifest a million dollars?
Speaker 3 (31:08):
No?
Speaker 7 (31:08):
I always get the bad stuff.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Come on, man, right, awesome?
Speaker 7 (31:13):
Yeah, I was just sitting here listening. I was like,
I'm gonna call in from the beach and.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
Say, yeah, you do more than me on vacation, because
I definitely don't listen when I'm on vacation.
Speaker 7 (31:27):
Yeah, this is probably going to be the only day.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
Yeah, all right, man, We'll be safe and have fun.
Speaker 7 (31:33):
To you guys, enjoyed you hear, vacate vacation.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
Thank you, Stay away from the sharks.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
Bye. Ah. So best and worst of the weekend, bmmss
and whatever that is to eight two nine four five
h This person that texted said their husband took down
the nasty pool. Worst. Our yard is flooded again. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
I think a lot of yards are probably flooded again.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
Did you see the pictures on Friday afternoon from midtown Tulsa.
Oh my god, it's like water going up into driveways,
like cars flooded in the road. Best. It was my
eight year old's birthday. We had a blast. Worst found
out my personal toolbox in the back of my truck
are not waterproof. All my tools are rusted. Oh No.
(32:19):
Best thing got to do a comedy festival in McAllister. Worst,
only about seven people showed up that weren't performing. Yeah, okay,
I mean I didn't know that there was a I
mean I don't think people think of going to a
comedy festival McAllister. No, you would have to. You would
(32:40):
have to people to road trip down there for that. Yeah,
good for you, though, I mean, at least you'd committed.
Best moved to a new townhouse townhouse after six years
in my personal apartment. Hell, it's so fancy. I don't
smell like roaches. It doesn't smell like roaches in here
or nothing. Worst Friday, the moment I got my keys,
(33:04):
it started pouring rain. Had the back of my mom's
ram truck farm truck loaded up with my furniture. Worse
number two. The ac at the new place is broke.
O No, and the honeymoon is over right, all right,
we gotta take a break. We're gonna give away tickets
to the Todies when we come back.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
Telsa's Morning Show. O. Yeah, he's coming right back. Bad
Morning Show, Tulsa's Rock Station ninety seven five kmod.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
I gotta do that myself because he's not here. Let's
go ahead and play a game paritated to see the
toties are up for grabs. Toties are gonna be at
cans Borum on August twenty seventh. You can just to
get to Keynesborom dot com and you can try and
win them right now. Eight three three four six oh
kmod eight three three four six oh kmod. And I'm
(34:01):
set here and we're going to play note off a
three three four six oh kmod famous note of a
famous song. If you guess it correctly, you're getting those
tickets to see the Todys. So let's go ahead and
hit the phones. Good morning, you're on the air. What
(34:21):
is your name? Immediately just freaked out by the idea
of playing the game eight three three four six oh kmod.
Chance to win some tickets see the Todies August twenty
seventh at the Canes Ballroom. Good morning, you're on the air.
What is your name?
Speaker 1 (34:42):
It can be inidating.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
Maybe there's something I'm doing, Maybe I'm hitting the button
incorrectly eight thre three four six oh kmod. They converted
it like a news phone system a while ago, so
maybe it's not functioning correctly. That's entirely possible. Or maybe
there's some button he pushes and I don't know how
to push it.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
Oh, maybe play the note and then let them hear it.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
First eight three three four six o kmo D note
of a famous song. If you guess it's the first note,
so it should be very easy. It's not like I
picked from random in the middle. You guess it correctly.
You're getting those tickets to see the Todys. Eight three
three four six oh kmod. Here is the famous note
from this famous song. I'll play it again A three
(35:34):
three four six O kmo D. Good morning, you're on
the air. What is your name?
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Now? I do feel like it's something on our end.
Speaker 6 (35:49):
Ah.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
I think I might be getting trolled.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
Possibly.
Speaker 2 (35:53):
I think that's what's happening. I think somebody's playing a
trick on us. Good morning, you're on the air. What
is your name?
Speaker 8 (36:04):
It's Danny, Hey Danny. How are you I'm doing?
Speaker 1 (36:07):
Good man?
Speaker 8 (36:08):
How are you doing this morning?
Speaker 2 (36:09):
I'm about a six point eight all right, man? Let
me play the note, and if you guess it correctly,
you're gonna get those tickets to see the Todies. Here
is the famous note here it is what song is that.
Speaker 8 (36:23):
It sounds like plush the stone table pilots.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
That's exactly what it is. Congratulations, you're gonna get those
tickets man to go see the Todies on August twenty seventh. Man,
So good job. Hang on the line so we can
get your info. Okay, all right, man, all right, thank you. Yeah,
excellent job. I watched a movie. I think you recommended
this to me. I could be wrong, Nicole Kidman, baby girl.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
I haven't seen it my second yet.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
Because she's been in some stuff, so I know you've
I may have gotten confused. Don't waste your time.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
Really, it's not good. No, it's not good. We were
we were kind of Kevin and I. We were told
to watch it when you're alone.
Speaker 2 (37:06):
And yeah, no, it's it's an adult yeah for sure.
So she plays a CEO of a company and she
is married to.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Put some Boots guy, Oh Antonio.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
Antonio Banderas, and they starts with the sex scene of
them having sex, and then she goes and masturbates after
he falls asleep but to like some really aggressive porn
and you're like, okay.
Speaker 1 (37:35):
Whatever, So he is not cutting it for.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Yeah, he is not giving her the O. And so
then cut to she's working at this office. The interns
come in and she is, uh, the one intern mentors
wants to be mentored by her this guy and it
just immediately turns into like he's overstepping the bounds and
(37:57):
she tries to shut it down kind of but not really.
And then so they start having this relationship or affair
or whatever, and it's just dumb. It's just she's a
really strong I don't know, I've never been a female
CEO and I've never been in that situation, so I
maybe it is realistic, but she plays this strong personality
(38:18):
as a CEO, and then all of a sudden she's
like a child. It's really bizarre and it's just a
bizarre movie. And then at the end there's like an
implication that she's done this before. Oh it's a weird.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
So it's not. Is it kind of like how Stella
got her groove back?
Speaker 2 (38:39):
But I wish I could tell you that I've seen
how Stella got her groove back? But I have never
seen that movie. I don't know anything about it all right,
except that she lost something and she was getting it back. Yeah,
it's not like she wasn't having sex. It wasn't like
she didn't have all the things she needed, Like she
just I guess she wanted to have really aggressive sex.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
Does her husband ever find out about the affairs?
Speaker 2 (39:03):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, but even that scene played out stupid.
I was thinking, like, so she confesses about their situation,
she goes to their second home because he kicks her
out right, and the intern kid shows up at the house,
(39:23):
their second home, and she's like, you gotta leave whatever,
and then they start making out and doing whatever right,
and he Antonio Bandera shows up and obviously not happy,
and then they just push each other. It's really weird. Yeah,
it's just it's that part. I didn't feel like it
(39:44):
was realistic.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
No, No, if you're the husband, you're like, you're you're
probably gonna want to kill this guy.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
Unless they were trying to show that his character was
just that guy, like he just couldn't even beat this
guy's I don't know. I don't know. Listen, just because
you have something cross you doesn't mean you're suddenly capable
of whopping someone's ass.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
Sure, and how does this injury? I even know her?
Her second house.
Speaker 2 (40:09):
Is Yeah, he's a little crazy. Yeah, okay, he plays
it's a little crazy. I'm being honest. I think you
would like it.
Speaker 1 (40:15):
I'm sure, I probably.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
I think you would like it. I think it lacked
some authenticity. It didn't feel real. It just especially when
she goes from being the strong personality to being like
a child.
Speaker 1 (40:28):
Yeah, a weakling.
Speaker 2 (40:31):
Yeah, it was very bizarre from that standpoint.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
And do they have children in this film?
Speaker 2 (40:35):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (40:36):
Okay, yes, grown I'm assuming No.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
No like teenager ish? Ok Yeah, it's it's a very
bizarre movie.
Speaker 1 (40:45):
Did you have to rent it?
Speaker 2 (40:47):
No? No, it's on Netflix or Max maybe on right,
all right, we got to take a break. We'll be back.
Speaker 3 (40:54):
The Big Man Morning Show returns next Elsa's Morning Show.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
So Tyreek Kill has challenged in Olympia Noah Lyles to
a head to head race, saying he's faster than this
Olympian and Noel Noah Noah Liles has said no, he's
not gonna do it.
Speaker 1 (41:17):
Well, he shouldn't have to.
Speaker 2 (41:19):
He only he doesn't gain anything by beating him. He
only loses something if he loses, right, So why would
you jeopardize yourself that way? Or Tyreek kill if he loses,
He's he doesn't lose anything, He's got nothing, nothing happens.
But if he beats him, it's all in Tyreek's benefit, right.
(41:40):
So because he couldn't raise him, he went ahead and
raised his brother.
Speaker 1 (41:46):
Who's his brother exactly?
Speaker 2 (41:51):
Joseph Lyles was one hundred meter dash at the Austin
Sprint Classic Saturday, so he's believes he believes he's earned
the bragging rights over the family. Oh my, Lyles is
the world's fastest man, and apparently Hill mocked him and
(42:19):
says he was battling a respiratory onness, why it happened? Oh
my goodness, Noah Liles can't say nothing after what just
happened to him, and then he wants to pretend that
he's sick. I feel like that's a horse radish. So
for him to say that we're not world champions of
(42:39):
our sports, like, come on, bro, just speak about what
you know. I would beat Noah Lyles. I won't beat
him by a lot, but I would beat him. Because
Noah Liles came out and said that they are not
world champions when they won the super Bowl, right because
they don't play the world not like Olympians do.
Speaker 1 (43:00):
That's that's it's a fair statement.
Speaker 2 (43:03):
It's a statement. It doesn't matter. And so apparently he
took issue with that. But I don't know why. I
don't know what you're doing, Like, why would you even
engage in.
Speaker 1 (43:14):
That because he's Tyreek Hill and he's just thirsty for attention.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
His brother is an American sprinter though, so it's not.
Speaker 1 (43:28):
Like so he is somebody, Well he might not be
an Olympian.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
That would be like saying, you also work for car
dealer you know about car dealerships?
Speaker 1 (43:41):
Yeah, just because your husband does, it.
Speaker 2 (43:45):
Doesn't and you do know some of it just by
osmosis and you know being around it.
Speaker 1 (43:49):
Yeah, but.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
Right, I have a driver's life. I have financed a
car before. I know what that's like. So I don't
know if I would count it as that. But I
love the idea of you got to compete against the
brother of somebody, so then you go so if you're
going to compete in anything, but you got to go
against their brother, so who's the best. And then you
got to go against their brother? So here's a bad example. Right,
(44:15):
You're not gonna do the Paul brothers, right because they're
both incredibly athletic, both train in the physical sport of boxing, right,
So it would make no sense to engage in that
type of thing when you don't do that, right. So
to me, I don't even know, maybe tom Brady's brother
(44:37):
in a throwing competition, because I can't imagine Tom Brady's
brother is real good at throwing. I don't even know
if he's got a brother, to.
Speaker 1 (44:45):
Be honest, it's going to say, you don't want to
go against the Manning brothers.
Speaker 2 (44:51):
No, that is in the bloodline. Their nephew's good, okay.
Speaker 1 (45:01):
Beyonce, her sister, she's just a coattail writer, right.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
Like, No, that Destiny's Child. They were huge, there's still
dancers and singers and had a career in a record label.
Speaker 1 (45:11):
Her sister wasn't in Destiny's Child.
Speaker 2 (45:13):
Solange, she no, I'm not true.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
Huh uh. Michelle Williams was in there for a minute
and then and then h Kelly Rowland and Beyonce. Yeah,
it wasn't.
Speaker 7 (45:30):
No.
Speaker 1 (45:30):
Her Solange had her own tried to have her own career.
Speaker 2 (45:34):
I mean she had a record label deal. Yeah, So
what are you going to compete in her against? Singing?
Speaker 1 (45:41):
Yeah? I don't know. You picked her, yeah yeah, but
as far as siblings go, because she was never as
big as Beyonce, I know.
Speaker 2 (45:49):
But what are you going to be competing in You're
just naming a sister.
Speaker 1 (45:52):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know. Good morning, Corbyn. If you
heard that keyword, it was green. You iterate online at
kmod dot com for your shot at one thousand dollars
when you rock the bank. You got thirteen chances throughout
the day to when that was your first chance. Be
listening again at nine am, all the way up until
(46:14):
eight o'clock tonight for one thousand dollars when you rock
the Bank from KMOD.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
All right, it's time for our listeners. Are awesome where
we talk to a listener and they share part of
their life with us. On the line with us right
now is Zach. Hey, Zach? How are you?
Speaker 8 (46:30):
I'm doing great? How are y'all doing?
Speaker 2 (46:31):
I'm good? Zach? Where are you from? Where do you live?
Speaker 8 (46:36):
I live in Edmond, Oklahoma right now?
Speaker 2 (46:37):
Okay? And married kids.
Speaker 8 (46:41):
I am happily married and I have a twenty two
year old boy, and then I have a dog that
we love to death.
Speaker 2 (46:47):
I bet on some days you love the dog more
than the.
Speaker 8 (46:49):
Boy most days.
Speaker 2 (46:52):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. How did you meet your wife?
Speaker 8 (46:55):
We actually met playing to an adult kickball league over
in Tulsa, uh thirteen years ago.
Speaker 2 (47:01):
Now, I guess an adult What was the name of
your kickball team?
Speaker 7 (47:06):
Uh?
Speaker 8 (47:06):
How what were we? That's a good question if my
wife was around to be able to answer.
Speaker 2 (47:11):
Was that a beer league too? Like? Was it?
Speaker 7 (47:13):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (47:13):
Yeah? Absolutely? Oh yeah, yeah that was that was what
we were there for. Kickball just kind of broke out
in the middle of it.
Speaker 2 (47:19):
Right, is something to break up the in between beers? Yes?
Speaker 8 (47:23):
Yeah, absolutely?
Speaker 2 (47:24):
What's your what's your highlight besides meeting your wife? What's
your highlight of your kickball career? What's something that sticks
out in your mind?
Speaker 6 (47:31):
Uh?
Speaker 8 (47:31):
Well, I did dislike dislocate some fingers diving for some balls.
I did run a home run in some steel toed
boots one one night, which was laborious. But what a
what a moment for a guy?
Speaker 2 (47:47):
Did you now? Is that something kickball players do is
wear steel toe to try and get a better kick?
Speaker 8 (47:53):
Well? No, well, I guess maybe I was cheating at
the moment, but didn't know it. But no, I came
straight from a job, so I was out there in
the Levi's and still tow boots that night.
Speaker 1 (48:03):
Now, I had some friends that played for the Cosmic Balls,
hear untilsa. Did you ever play against that team?
Speaker 8 (48:10):
No, I don't think so. Like I said, it was
a beer league, so foggy maybe okay?
Speaker 2 (48:18):
And is that is that part of your life over
playing kickball?
Speaker 8 (48:22):
Yeah, them days are over. About the extent of my
exercises getting in the swimming pool. That's about as far
as it goes.
Speaker 2 (48:29):
It feels like a good win. It says here that
you grew up next to the BTK Killer. What what
was that like?
Speaker 8 (48:40):
Uh, well, we'd say grow up. I knew a BTK
for about five six years. My dad lived next to
BTK a little bit longer than that, but of course
has at my dad's plays quite a bit. And so yeah,
I've got to uh to know. Dennis Raider is what
we thought was just kind of a normal dude, But
apparently I had a hell of a lot more behind
(49:00):
behind all that facade.
Speaker 2 (49:02):
How did you get the news that that's who that was?
Speaker 7 (49:05):
Well?
Speaker 8 (49:06):
I was happened to be in town that day driving
my sister. She had ing out pacing surgery. So I
was sitting around waiting for my sister to get out
of surgery, and I'm watching the news and kind of preface.
My dad. He used to grow the cannabis, resting peace
pops all the time. We always had to ground the
house growing it all the time. Right, So, see a's
(49:26):
helicopter view and it's hovering over my dad's neighborhood and
they're just over my dad's house and I'm like, holy hell,
Dad finally got busted for the h for his extracurriculars.
And then all of a sudden it was nope, they
were arresting the BTK. So yeah, that's how I found
out that the BTK was living next door to it
hurt to my dad.
Speaker 1 (49:45):
So this was in Park City, Missouri, Kansas Parks, yes,
excuse me, parks in Kansas.
Speaker 8 (49:51):
Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, So I got on the phone
to my brother in law. I was like, oh, hell,
Dad finally finally got caught or what. But no, it
turned out that yeah, it was the BTK that had
been living next door to the family all these years.
Speaker 2 (50:06):
Did they interview your dad or anybody else.
Speaker 8 (50:10):
They had all the big news stations were knocking on
the doors and calling, and for whatever reason, my pops
and my sister, my niece had lived with him at
the time, they didn't want anything to do with any
kind of interviews, so they never did. But hindsight, they
probably could have monetized it somewhere on the line, but
they didn't, right right, you know, this is the first
(50:34):
official interview about the BTK Mark.
Speaker 2 (50:37):
Okay, I'm glad we're getting that breaking story, that's first. Yeah. Yeah,
did you have conversations with your dad about it once
like the things started coming out about what he did?
Speaker 3 (50:50):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (50:50):
Yeah, absolutely, we had plenty of conversations and some of
the scary parts of it. My dad and I we
used to do a lot of hunting, and so we
leave from there. But my dad he would always ask
Dennis and Dennis's wife to kind of look after the
house and look after my sister and niece. I was
living at the house at the same time, so you know,
(51:11):
so you kind of look back on that kind of thing,
and we were asking a serial killer to look after
our family while we were gone.
Speaker 1 (51:19):
Yeah, yeah, is that when he was was he working
as a prison guard at that time or what was
he doing for a living.
Speaker 8 (51:27):
He was like a compliance officer around a guest so
there he would tell people their grass was too tall,
things like that.
Speaker 2 (51:36):
Only once though, right, yeah.
Speaker 8 (51:39):
Yeah, And so before that he used to install like
security systems in homes, so that's how he would like
go in case houses is what they kind of learned
through everything. So it was pretty wicked. And he was
my who's my brother in law now, which my brother
in law would have been like sixteen fifteen, sixteen years old.
(52:00):
He was his youth pastor at his church way back
in the day, so he's kind of cross paths with
my family even before before us. So yeah, it's pretty wild.
It's a real surreal thing, that's for sure.
Speaker 2 (52:11):
Yeah, And he's definitely one of those that you realize
it can be in plain sight, like somebody like that
can be and folded into everyday society.
Speaker 8 (52:19):
Oh absolutely, man, I don't know. I think there's some
stats out there, like, you know, one and four of
us we walk well by a serial killer every day
or something like that.
Speaker 2 (52:30):
For you, that's definitely true.
Speaker 8 (52:32):
Yeah, yeah, it is. Yeah. I sat down at the
end of the fence had millet lights with the guy
talked about the trees that him and my dad hated
in the backyard a few times. So, yeah, just a
normal dude. It's it's pretty wild.
Speaker 2 (52:44):
Yeah, now it's clear. And why he had plenty of
hatchets to let you borrow.
Speaker 8 (52:49):
Yeah, yeah, speak a borrow that whenever we had gotten
back into the neighborhood after I picked my brought my
sister home from our surgery because we had to get
in and saw all the police reports so we could
get down the street to the house or whatever, get
past all the swat trucks that they had. It was
like a it looked like an SUV or an su
SVU episode on TV or whatever, you know. Yeah, and
(53:13):
my dad's deck in the backyard it was it was
up up, so it looked down into Btk's backyard. And
so we're watching all this going on, and they go
back into the shed in the backyard and they can't
get into it, so they walk over to the fence
does and they end up having to borrow a set
of bolt cutters for my dad to open up the
(53:33):
shed in the backyard and they pull out what was
little box that he kept his trophies in a toolbox,
and so they had pulled out this red toolbox and
that's where they found like id's and pullary pictures and
other trophies that he had kept from his victims. So yeah,
(53:54):
pretty wicked. It's pretty wild that the swat team didn't
have a pair of bolt cutters. But yeah, they did.
Speaker 2 (54:00):
Well, they just usually they don't usually just cut things.
They ran them oprough did did. Now, It's crazy how
something you can live next to somebody and it can
be a part of like a defining part of your life,
even though it didn't happen to you, it happened next
door to you. When you said, your dad isn't alive anymore.
Speaker 8 (54:16):
No, he passed away about six years ago.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
And just out of curiosity when he when you had
your service for him and stuff, did the BTK killer
stuff come up during the service.
Speaker 8 (54:28):
No, No, not at all, because it.
Speaker 2 (54:31):
Just was thinking about how that's such a big event
that happens. Maybe I don't know much anything about your dad,
but I can't I don't imagine it was one of
the biggest things that happened to him.
Speaker 8 (54:39):
Yeah, it was. You know, it's definitely a big part
of life. But I don't know, no, not really, it's
only it's only become a kind of a oh you
live next to BTK at a party kind of like
how Lindsey found out about this deal.
Speaker 2 (54:54):
So yeah, it says here that you can tell us
why he didn't get the death penalty.
Speaker 8 (55:00):
Yeah he Uh, Well, the Kansas abolished to death finally
in like nineteen oh seven, and they didn't bring it
back until ninety four, and the only murders that they
could prove or that he did was up through ninety one.
So that's why he didn't get the death penalty. He
got ten years, which equats like one hundred and seventy
five years in this crazy world we live in, I guess.
Speaker 2 (55:23):
And even though that was it was federal crimes is
what he got charged with, right.
Speaker 8 (55:27):
Yeah, yeah, well no, it had been Stowe's state. It
was stake.
Speaker 1 (55:33):
Did you ever talk to his children, because he had
a son and daughter, right, yeah.
Speaker 8 (55:40):
No, I never talked to the kids. They were older
and they were always gone, and because that's how he
finally got they connected him with DNA was through his daughter.
But no, I never did talk to the kids. Talk
to the wife a little bit. She was a sweet
lady for sure, just normal people, I'm telling you, folks. Yeah,
it's wild. Yeah, yeah, I don't know if you guys
(56:02):
had researched anything on it. But his daughter, she went
to k State there in Kansas, and she had had
a PAP snare done there for like a wellness check
or whatever it was. So whenever they were needed to
get DNA matches, they were. They had found that out,
and so they got her DNA. So Vince, he was
(56:23):
busted by a gynecologist and some stuff in a ziplock
baggy in a lab somewhere. So yeah, it's pretty wild.
Speaker 2 (56:31):
Did your dad ever go visit him in jail or
anything like that?
Speaker 8 (56:37):
Oh no, oh god no, no. After he was arrested,
it was we just kind of dealt with the spectacles
that all the the fans showing up to take pictures
at the house and things like that, but never any
connection with the family or BTK or anything like that.
Speaker 2 (56:53):
And did you did your dad or anybody else speak
to his wife after that?
Speaker 8 (56:57):
Now, his wife, his wife disappeared within about hours after
all that happened from that house and never went back.
Speaker 1 (57:05):
She divorced him, right, So.
Speaker 8 (57:08):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. Yeah. And his daughter she yes,
she does uh, travels around the world or the country
now and speaks about trauma and surviving at all and
that kind of thing. So that'd be a person that
you'd want to talk to if you want some some
real good, some good juice out of it.
Speaker 2 (57:26):
I mean maybe she might not have known anything was
going on until afterwards.
Speaker 8 (57:29):
Well well that's well, that's well, that's absolutely a true
statement for sure.
Speaker 2 (57:35):
Yeah, that's wild. Yeah, and the whole thing that you
have to go, well, like you have a connection to
that or you know a story. Not everybody has a
story associated with crazy like that.
Speaker 8 (57:49):
Yeah. Yeah. The that day, he had a he had
a pretty vicious dog in the backyard. I wouldn't say
he was vicious before, but when the cops got there,
they tried to get in the backyard and they couldn't
get in there. So they came over Half's dad like,
do you think you'd be able to come over and
get this dog out? And so my dad and I
(58:09):
we walked next door and we walk over there and
we'd sign into the police reports and all that stuff.
So we're in that, We're in the the lore of
it for sure, you know. We're in black and white.
But so we tried to go back in the backyard
and get the dog out of the backyard and we
couldn't get it. So eventually they had to call a
dog catcher, which is funny because BTK he was a
dog catcher at one point for the city there. So yeah,
(58:32):
it's a it is a wild, wild deal. Yeah, we
just sat there and we watched the cops just mill
around that place for a good week looking for stuff
and all that, and yeah, just like a movie, for sure.
Speaker 1 (58:45):
Was there any a time. Was there ever a time
where you guys, maybe you and your dad sat down
and talked after the fact and thought, you know, reflecting
on some of the conversations you may have had with
the BTK killer and thought, yeah, you know, now that
we think about it, that one time where we were
having a beer, he really could have been a serial
killer or the things that he said.
Speaker 8 (59:07):
I have nothing that he ever said. The last time
that I saw Dennis Raider, he was moan his yard
in the backyard and I was out on my dad's
deck and I looked down at him and I just
kind of a nod of the head like he usually do,
and all I got back, was a pretty pretty evil
glare from him, and it wasn't within a few months
was when he got arrested. So we never no, never,
(59:31):
never I thought we had that. That's weird. So no,
not at all. It was just a normal dude, a
nice man, just normal.
Speaker 2 (59:40):
Well never know, yeah, well normal maybe, well yeah, you know,
it appeared to be normal. Did he murder anybody in
his house, ear in his backyard?
Speaker 8 (59:53):
No, not in the house. The closest was it was
one of the last murders. I do belie leave He
didn't murder a lady on his set, lived on his street,
just a few houses down. But no, not in the
house or in the backyard or anything.
Speaker 7 (01:00:08):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
Yeah, well, one of the craziest things about him, because
they say it was all sexually based, is the age
range of the women was all over the place.
Speaker 8 (01:00:16):
Yeah. Yeah, and then I think the first family, which
I don't really didn't expect the kids to be there,
but there was a couple of kids in the first
the murders of the Ottro family they pronounce it. Yeah yeah,
so yeah, a terrible deal. Yeah, he was just all
over the place. I guess, just control is all it was.
Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
Yeah, wild.
Speaker 8 (01:00:36):
He was. He was into some apparently some some pretty
crazy fetish stuff like to tie himself up dressed as
a woman and almost strangling himself to death and things
like that. I know I've read quite a bit on
the BTK obviously since it happened.
Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
But so you know what's interesting about saying that is,
I I think killing people makes it more weird. Like
to compare, I've seen pantyhose and pantyhose in women's clothes
equal to murdering people. I don't think that's crazy. I
don't think getting dressed up is crazy.
Speaker 8 (01:01:08):
No, well, no, not at all, And that's for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
Sure.
Speaker 8 (01:01:13):
I definitely took he definitely took a jump there that I.
Speaker 2 (01:01:16):
Agree one hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (01:01:17):
But it was like a little Norman Bates ish.
Speaker 8 (01:01:21):
Yeah, oh absolutely absolutely.
Speaker 2 (01:01:24):
Listen, Zach, it's been nice talking to you. Thanks for
sharing your story about growing him next to the BTK killer,
and have a great day. Man. You'll be good, all right, brother,
see you later. That's our listeners are awesome. Take a
break and we'll be back.
Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
Tulsa's Morning Show continues next with a Big Man Morning
Show on Tulsa's rock station ninety seven.
Speaker 2 (01:01:46):
I guess I got to bring this up, and it's
uncomfortable because I'm getting ready to do this. Child reportedly
fell overboard on a Disney Cruise ship. The dad jumped
in after her. This happened on June ninth. The ship
was returning to the port in Florida on the same
(01:02:06):
trip I'm taking oh No, and the crew aboard the
ship swiftly rescued the two guests from the water after
an emergency code mister MOB rang out over the ship's
intercom system, which stands for man overboard. Apparently they drill
(01:02:31):
this a lot, so they were prepared. Quote. We come
into our crew members for their exceptional skills and prompt
actions which ensured the safe return both guests to the
ship within minutes. Were committed to the safety and well
being of our guests, and this incident highlights the effectiveness
of our safety protocols. Now people are saying, like, she
(01:02:51):
fell from the fourth deck, which is a running deck,
I guess, And people, I don't know how because the
railings are really high. They're like four and a half
feet high pet plexiglass, like you can't put your hand
through it. So how this kid fell over? I'm unclear
how old the kid is, but now I've seen a
picture of the individual of the child. So the child
(01:03:15):
appears to be eight, nine, ten maybe, And according to
reports of people that were on the ship, they set
her up on the railing to take a picture and
that's when she fell overboard. Oh my gosh. So the
ship isn't negligent.
Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
No, it's the parent or whomever set her up there.
Speaker 2 (01:03:36):
Yeah, don't put your kid on the railing of a
ship that's moving through the water. They're lucky they didn't die, exactly,
They're lucky. The ship has high standards of safety where
they can dispatch a ship a separate little boat to
go get somebody, because that boat ain't stopping. There's no breaks, no,
(01:03:59):
and just that impact. Then when you hit that water too,
it could knock you out. Oh, knocked the wind out
of you. Yes, it's scared. Just the fall would be scary.
Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
Yes, absolutely, especially for an eight or nine year old.
Speaker 2 (01:04:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:04:13):
Yeah, I don't know what the temperature of the water was, right,
just the shock of it all. Yes, So when you
saw that, you're like, oh god, why na.
Speaker 2 (01:04:26):
I'm not that person. Well, how many times have you
ever heard a story like this where someone accidentally falls off,
not jumps. There's that video of the guy who was
like decided to be funny drunk and jump off the
side of the ship and they never saw him again. Yeah,
so it isn't that.
Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
Right, just had to be the same trip.
Speaker 2 (01:04:50):
Yeah, wild right. Yeah, and my wife I already had
this on the list, but my wife just texted me,
She's like, have you seen this? Yeah, it's a this mo. Yeah.
The chances of that happening again on accidents, I think.
Speaker 1 (01:05:07):
Is incredibly Well, they're going to have signs posted, do
not set your children they do. Yeah, well they're going
to have to.
Speaker 2 (01:05:14):
I bet they already did have those up, is what
I'm saying. Oh, just because there's a sign. Name the
time a sign stopped somebody from doing something.
Speaker 1 (01:05:23):
They still fed the alligators and they lost their three
year old came.
Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
Out of the water and are referring to another story Yeah, okay, yeah,
it's along with the right.
Speaker 1 (01:05:33):
Yeah. Yeah, a few years back when they have the
signs posted and the they were feeding the gat and
it came out of the water and took that little
three year old toddler right into the swamp with it.
And they never found it. Well, I think they did
find I'm not remembering the story. So, oh, it was
probably now ten fifteen years ago, I think.
Speaker 2 (01:05:52):
But then I'm definitely not remembering the story.
Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
Yeah, it was down in Florida. The mom and dad
were with their toddler.
Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
I feel like that's a common thing. Yeah, I bet.
I wonder how many alligators eight people compared to sharks?
Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
What is it good?
Speaker 2 (01:06:10):
I bet alligators kill? How many alligators kill people a year? Right?
Speaker 1 (01:06:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
Because remember it's less than ten on sharks about America.
Speaker 1 (01:06:24):
About one person a year is killed by an alligator
in the United States. In Florida, there have been twenty
six gator fatalities between nineteen forty eight and twenty twenty one, and.
Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
I would suspect a lot of those bleed out.
Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:06:41):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:06:41):
In the past ten years, Florida has averaged eight unprovoked
bites per year, some serious enough to require medical treatment.
Speaker 2 (01:06:55):
I would think that the attacks are a lot, eight
each year. Eight attacks each year, Yeah, equal to sharks.
Speaker 1 (01:07:05):
Yeah, because they said less then and one person killed.
Speaker 2 (01:07:12):
But as far as being on a cruise ship and
putting your kid up on a railing I'm sure you
felt like the hell. I get nervous just seeing kids
sit on railings anywhere. All you gotta do is know
somebody who has a traumatic brain injury and you go, yeah,
crazy things can happen.
Speaker 1 (01:07:30):
Yes, absolutely, I.
Speaker 2 (01:07:33):
Know people that have got them just falling out of
a chair.
Speaker 1 (01:07:38):
I get. I took the kids to the uh public
swimming pool, the knee eyes and broken arrow, and watching
them even just climb the stairs to go down the
slide makes me nervous. I'm like, don't run, it's wet.
I don't need you tripping and falling down the stairs
and busting your head open.
Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
I see kids at the neighborhood pool all the time,
running and slipping and busting their ass.
Speaker 1 (01:08:02):
Yeah, don't need it. Don't need it. On a cruise ship,
you're phoning what was they were on the fourth deck?
Speaker 2 (01:08:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:08:13):
Yeah. And how many decks is on that ship? You
said twelve?
Speaker 2 (01:08:17):
I mean yes, I believe they're like twelve or thirteen.
And I don't know how it works. I don't know
if it's four from the bottom from the hall or
like four on the way up.
Speaker 1 (01:08:30):
Yeah, it's a no for me.
Speaker 2 (01:08:32):
Dog, even if it was one deck, like the water
was right there it's still terrifying to a child to
be in the water and seeing the ship move away. Yeah,
and you know what I'm thinking immediately, is am I
gonna get eaten? Right? What's that that touched my leg?
Speaker 1 (01:08:53):
Oh? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
Oh it's kelp okay yeah yeah, No, it's not gonna
be a shark.
Speaker 1 (01:08:59):
It's gonna be like a jellyfish that gets.
Speaker 2 (01:09:01):
You right, or not even that, It'll just be the
seaweed touching you and you're just like.
Speaker 1 (01:09:06):
Oh God, this is it.
Speaker 2 (01:09:08):
This is the moment. Tell everybody I love them? Can
you imagine the mom No, I want to know that.
I hope we get to see the video. What's the
duration of time from when the kid falls over and
the dad leaps over the banister?
Speaker 1 (01:09:25):
I'm sure it was instant.
Speaker 2 (01:09:28):
I'd like to think that.
Speaker 1 (01:09:30):
And which parent was it that put the child up
on the banister?
Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
Feels like a dad move?
Speaker 1 (01:09:37):
Did mom say put her up on the banisters? I
can get the picture maybe? Or what if it wasn't
a picture? What if it was here? Let me set
you up here so I can tell your shoe real quick.
Speaker 2 (01:09:52):
They said it was for a picture. Okay, everything I
saw online either way, that's you're being You're parents are
being dumb.
Speaker 1 (01:10:03):
Yeah, I can't imagine. And the PTSD they all will
go through.
Speaker 2 (01:10:09):
Yeah, that's the other part, Like do you come out
of your cabin after that?
Speaker 10 (01:10:13):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:10:14):
Like trips over?
Speaker 2 (01:10:15):
I mean they were on their way back, so they
would have been back at the port by morning.
Speaker 1 (01:10:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:10:23):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:10:24):
Someone said, can you call it an accident when you
place the ket on the rail?
Speaker 2 (01:10:29):
Can you call it an accidental overdose when you deliberately
take cocaine? Right, we still call it an accident. It
wasn't the intention, so yeah, it's it's definitely an accident.
Speaker 1 (01:10:42):
Oh uh. Someone said, didn't a grandpa get charged with
manslaughter for dropping a kid in a water in the
water from a ship.
Speaker 2 (01:10:50):
He didn't drop her in the water. She was climbing
on the window sill.
Speaker 1 (01:10:54):
Yes, and she fell out.
Speaker 2 (01:10:55):
She fell Yes, they had the window open, if I
remember the story correctly. All right, we got to take
a break. We'll be back Kelsea's.
Speaker 3 (01:11:03):

Speaker 2 (01:11:31):
Join us now in the studio is Jeff Heinsley from
Hinsley Associates.
Speaker 6 (01:11:34):
Good morning, Jeff, good morning. I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
We read a story early this morning from a former
UFC fighter that has had a protective order against him,
and at the hearing he asked the judge to have
a identity verification set up to prove that that is
(01:11:59):
his real that put the restraining order against him. To
what end he believes that she is his family's been
replaced by impostors, so somebody going through a mental crisis
or not, I don't know. And the judge denied this,
of course, because that's not a thing.
Speaker 6 (01:12:18):
Well it's not just that, it's not a thing.
Speaker 10 (01:12:21):
It's just for example, under oklaholaw they changed it where
you know, you didn't have to be related to the
individual to bring a protective order against him, So you know,
at least in Oklahoma, that wouldn't fly because again, you
don't have to prove that connection anymore. Now in the
old days, you did, but they've since changed that law,
and that's the law we're in right now. I you know,
(01:12:41):
I would imagine in if he's a UFC I'm guessing
he probably got, you know, hit in the head too
many times. And I feel sorry for the guy if
that's what he's thinking, you know. But again, if you're
a conspiracy theorist and you want to go down that hole,
then that rabbit hole, uh, you know, there's other things
to check out. So yeah, but yeah, I think the
judge was in a right to say, look, this is
you know, we don't do that here. This is not
(01:13:03):
how this is this works. I'm sorry, but it's denied well.
Speaker 2 (01:13:06):
And I hate the fact that it's even a UFC
fighter because people automatically just go to he's been hitting head.
People go through mental episodes.
Speaker 6 (01:13:12):
All the time. True, So thank you for making me
a jerk. That's okay. I guess I made myself a jerk.
I didn't. I wasn't trying to be rude.
Speaker 2 (01:13:19):
I'm really no, No, I don't think you are. I
think everybody was having the same thought.
Speaker 6 (01:13:22):
You were right, and you're right.
Speaker 10 (01:13:24):
Mental crisis in today's world too. I mean, there's a
reason we see the nine eight eight signs right all
over and why we deal with so many issues.
Speaker 6 (01:13:33):
I mean even see it now in uh, you.
Speaker 10 (01:13:36):
Know, our TV shows that we watch and stuff where
they cover these issues because they're so predominant in our
society these days.
Speaker 6 (01:13:42):
So it's it's very I would say it's normal now.
Speaker 10 (01:13:45):
I think it's something that is definitely brought forth into
community that we didn't have before. So you know, at
least we're being more aware of it, and I hope
that the court systems and everything at some point will
address them more so that we can help those individuals.
Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
Hensley from Hensley Associates is here to answer your questions.
It's gonna be a little different without Gimpy the room,
so we're gonna take these blindly. We'll see how this goes.
Good morning, you're on the air. What is your name?
Speaker 8 (01:14:09):
My name is Jeff Jent.
Speaker 2 (01:14:11):
What's your question for Jeff Hensley of Hensley Associates.
Speaker 11 (01:14:15):
My mom recently died and they don't have a will,
and my dad's like thinking about getting remarried. I was
trying to figure out what we would have to do
with my mom's estate and probate or whatever.
Speaker 10 (01:14:28):
Yeah, I mean her state's going to have to be
probated for sure, So you know, I will have our
Sam Allison up.
Speaker 6 (01:14:35):
In a prohusc office call you. Well, actually I need
you to call my office. We don't have gimpy.
Speaker 2 (01:14:42):
It's it's a vacation.
Speaker 10 (01:14:44):
We don't have gimpy. So normally we would take your
name and number and we would call you. But Gimpy's
gone and I don't want you to giving that information
over the open air.
Speaker 6 (01:14:50):
So call my office this morning.
Speaker 10 (01:14:52):
Tell them you talk to me on the radio and
that you need to talk to Sam Sam Sam up
in Pasca, and they'll give you his number and they'll
get y all hooked up on that bit. He can
walk you through the probate process and everything you need
to do for your mom's estate.
Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
All right, thanks so much. If you got a question
for Jeff of Hinsley. If you have a question for
Jeff and of Finsley and associates, you can call it
eight through three four six, oh KMOD. You can text
bmms and whatever that question is to eight two nine
four five. You can email show at kmod dot com.
Do they have to probate it? Because technically everything would
go to the father, right.
Speaker 10 (01:15:27):
Well, under the law, I mean if you don't have
if you don't have a trust that bypasses probate and
all these other things. And yeah, I mean every estate's
going to have to go through probate. That just means
she died intestate, which means she didn't have a will.
So you know, these things have to be done correctly
because you don't want to coming back and biting you
in the butt because you didn't do it properly. And
it's not like the old days where it's just like, well,
(01:15:47):
granny's dead, so I guess Grandpa's going to get it all.
It's just not like that. I mean, it was much
simpler in those days, I guess. But obviously there's things
that go along with making sure that debtors or excuse me,
that creditors get paid and the state get the state
gets paid for back taxes, and you know all these
things that we didn't think about one hundred years ago.
Speaker 2 (01:16:07):
Jeff from Hensley and Associates is here to answer your questions.
This is a carryover from last week. It says my
wife and I have been separated for five years. I've
had the kids for that time, and my oldest was
from a previous relationship. I had no contact for six months,
and I need to find a way to gain custody
of my oldest before the school year to get her enrolled.
How can I do that quickly?
Speaker 10 (01:16:28):
So is he saying that just forgive me? Is he
saying that his that the oldest involved? Is it was
from a previous relationship? Was it I guess the question
becaus it was it her relationship previous relationship?
Speaker 2 (01:16:38):
Was it his?
Speaker 6 (01:16:39):
I'm a little unclear on that.
Speaker 2 (01:16:41):
Yeah, I have had the kids for that time, since
they've been separated, and my oldest is from a previous relationship.
I've had no contact, I'm guessing with her for six months,
and I need to find a way to gain custody
of my oldest before so they've been separated, no custody
or anything figured out from.
Speaker 10 (01:16:58):
What I'm interpret if this is a divorce, then we
obviously need to file a divorce. If this is paternity,
then we need to file a paternity action, especially if
mom's off the face of the planet and you know
you haven't heard from her, and obviously in the state
of Oklahoma, we still have the lots of his Mom's
got soul custody until dad files something, so we need
to get that done. Whoever this is, please call us.
We'd love to help you with that. We want to
(01:17:19):
get that in place, especially with school coming up. Otherwise
you're not gonna be able to get them enrolled in school,
take them to the doctor, take them to the er,
all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:17:25):
Well, and I think you said something there, custody had
divorce has to be initiated to start the custody right.
Speaker 10 (01:17:33):
Well, so technically not in I'm talking about paternity cases.
So in a divorced situation, you have you're if you're
both mom and dad, so you can you don't have
to have the divorce filed or done to be able
to take.
Speaker 6 (01:17:43):
Them to school or enroll them in school and take.
Speaker 10 (01:17:45):
Them to the doctor and all that, and paternity cases
you do because only mom until dad files something that
adjudicates him or legally finds him to be dad. Dad
can't take those kids because technically he doesn't have any
rights to them in the state of Oklahoma. Again, that's
what we've been living in since November first to twenty eleven.
Speaker 6 (01:18:02):
So you know, if you've got that issue.
Speaker 10 (01:18:04):
Give us a call, because we want to make sure
that's short up where you know you're trying to get
them enrolled and they go, well, you don't have gast
to do, so you can't get them en roll. Well,
we don't want that happening. We don't want your kids
to miss school because we've got a hiccup. Let's get
it taken care of now, and let's do it in
the summer. Okay, well we should have done this like
in May, all right before school hits in August, if
in case they're.
Speaker 2 (01:18:24):
Not enrolled right because enrollment August first. We're getting too
close to.
Speaker 6 (01:18:29):
The well, you can't get in.
Speaker 10 (01:18:30):
You can't get into a judge that quickly. I mean sometimes,
depending upon the judge schedules and the county urine, you
can move in for an emergency hearing based upon the
issue of school. But those are getting harder and harder
to do as time goes on, simply because there's more
and more cases. And yeah, so we want to get
it done sooner rather than later.
Speaker 2 (01:18:47):
Jeff from Hensling Associates is here to answer your questions.
Bmmss and whatever that is to eight two nine four
five that has to do with family law. This says
my brother got arrested for domestic violence, still waiting to
figure out if there will be jail time. He has kids.
My question is they are not married. They have lived
together ten years and file taxes together, so they're common law.
(01:19:07):
She doesn't have a license, He has two cars titled
in his name. Can the family show up and get
one of the vehicles and some clothes and his tools
so he's not homeless when when they're not homeless when
he gets out.
Speaker 10 (01:19:22):
I mean, the problem is is that if you've got
a common law marriage, you've now got all the issues
that go along with being married. So can they just
show up and take his stuff? The answers, No, they're married.
I mean she's entitled to you know, those things as well.
And so you know, again if they hadn't to choose
my words very carefully here, you can't have your cake
(01:19:44):
and eat it too.
Speaker 6 (01:19:45):
In other words, you can't have the whole.
Speaker 10 (01:19:46):
Well, we're going to be boyfriend girlfriend fiances, but we
are going to file taxes so we can get the
financial benefit of that from the government and then come
back and say, well, they're not together just because they
file taxes. So we want his stuff so he's not
homeless when he gets out. That's not how it works.
You can't have your cake and need it too on
(01:20:07):
those On those particular issues, it's either or not both,
so meaning that you know, if you're going to file taxes,
you know, and I make no judgments.
Speaker 6 (01:20:16):
That's not my job. Okay, this My job is not
to make any judgments on that. My job is to
help you.
Speaker 10 (01:20:21):
But my advice is if you're going to go that route,
understand that down the road should it fall apart. We're
now talking divorce, which means splitting stuff up, as opposed
to paternity, which means not splitting stuff up.
Speaker 2 (01:20:33):
Jeff is here from Hinsley and Associates. If you ever
got a question about divorce or custody or guardian ship
or anything like that, get your question to us eight
through three four six oh kmod or you can text
BMMS and whatever that question is to eight two nine
four five. This one was a little different than we
normally get. Okay, says Jeff as an attorney. Is it
frustrating when judges don't follow the statutes on certain custody issues? Also,
(01:20:54):
is there any recourse when judges go off the books
or is it is there word the final say? So?
Speaker 6 (01:21:02):
Is it frustrating? It can be yes.
Speaker 10 (01:21:04):
I mean judges in any state in the United States,
including the Supreme Court of the United States, aren't required.
Speaker 6 (01:21:11):
To follow the law. Okay, the law on a.
Speaker 10 (01:21:15):
Lot of things is black and white family laws where
we get into more gray areas than say, criminal or
other cases. But yeah, it can be very frustrating when
that goes, when they go off book. As far as remedies, obviously,
if you don't agree with the judges finding, you can
always ask for a new hearing. You can always ask
(01:21:35):
for it to be reconsidered. You can also if it's
a final order, take it all the way up to
the Oklahoma Supreme Court. If you really feel that there's
been an error somewhere. There's always recourse there. Yes, that
is the beauty of the system is as you always
have recourse, so that it doesn't mean that you're always
going to get your recourse done because it can be denied,
but you do have recourse to try things.
Speaker 6 (01:21:57):
Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (01:21:59):
This is text one that came in. It said, is
it true the fifty to fifty custody law only applies
to divorce case and not paternity cases.
Speaker 6 (01:22:09):
Correct, And I think I said that.
Speaker 10 (01:22:11):
I don't think I see it every week, but I
know I remember saying it last week.
Speaker 6 (01:22:14):
Yeah, I mean the law came down. There was a
status excuse me, a case law that came down.
Speaker 10 (01:22:18):
I want to say it was six to ten months ago,
a little less than that maybe, where it was very
clearly found that it only applies to divorce.
Speaker 6 (01:22:27):
Now. Having said that, most.
Speaker 10 (01:22:30):
Judges, a lot of judges will start that same way
at paternity.
Speaker 6 (01:22:34):
They're not required to, all right. I think a lot of.
Speaker 10 (01:22:37):
Them try to give a benefit of the doubt because
it is better when both parents are involved with their children.
But at the same time too, they're not required to,
like in a divorce case.
Speaker 6 (01:22:47):
So yes, that is absolutely correct.
Speaker 2 (01:22:50):
Jeff Finsley from Hinsley and Associates is here to answer
your family law questions, divorce, custody, guardianship, name change, anything
like that. This text says what happened happens if a
dad paying support gets laid off and is choosing not
to go back to work and take the summer off
and stay on unemployment.
Speaker 10 (01:23:10):
Well his amount doesn't change and the money is still owed.
So if you're trying to get out of child support. Sorry,
doesn't work that way. That just means you are now
building in a rearedge. So when you do go back
to court or EUS do go back to work, you
now have a huge reareds that you're building or potential
huge roads that you're building that you're going to owe
on top of your existing support moving forward. So you know,
(01:23:30):
there's this myth that, oh, I lost my job, so
I don't owe anything, not in Oklahoma, not in any
state that I'm aware of. The you know, the number
stays the same unless you try to modify it. Now,
if you try and modify it because you you know,
contest as we file a motion to modify because you're unemployed,
all right, so we can get that number taking care
of that's different story. It can be retroactive to the
(01:23:52):
data filing of emotion, that sort of thing. But when
you just stop working and you don't want to work
because you want to take the summer off and watch
baseball all summer, all right, you're building in a rears.
Speaker 6 (01:24:03):
The money is still owed. You don't get out of it. Sorry,
it doesn't work that way.
Speaker 2 (01:24:07):
That is a common misconception, right that they think because
you're not working, you don't have to pay. Nothing changes.
That's correct, even on unemployment. Correct, an amount doesn't change.
Speaker 10 (01:24:17):
The amount doesn't change. Well unless again, unless you try
to modify it. You know, if you try to modify
it and say, well, i'm unemployment, I'm making this ununemployment,
then we can modify it.
Speaker 6 (01:24:25):
But otherwise, sorry, it's still load.
Speaker 2 (01:24:27):
What if the baby mama gives them a break, says
you don't have to pay me this month. Can that happen?
Speaker 10 (01:24:35):
It can, but you better get it in writing, and
you better get it such that if DHS is taking
it out of your check or your unemployment or whatever,
she sends a letter and you contact DHS and let
them know what's going on. I mean, the parties can
always make agreements, but when there's existing court orders in place,
you need an order that reflects what your agreements are.
Otherwise they'll come back and say, oh, I never said that, Sorry,
(01:24:58):
you pissed me off this month.
Speaker 6 (01:24:59):
So so you know they're going to be stuck with
all of it.
Speaker 2 (01:25:03):
This says I signed a settlement with the child support
and insurance lines were blank. The gal told me the
other party will not sign it blank. How does this happen?
Speaker 6 (01:25:16):
Read that again.
Speaker 2 (01:25:17):
I agreed that this one's a little no.
Speaker 10 (01:25:19):
I think I know what they're talking about, but I
just want to hear and it's don't say gal, just
say g L.
Speaker 6 (01:25:23):
Guardian ad lit him.
Speaker 2 (01:25:24):
So oh.
Speaker 10 (01:25:26):
That's what I think it means. But I could be wrong.
I mean, that could be really gal as and female attorney.
Speaker 6 (01:25:31):
I don't know. We'll just go ahead.
Speaker 2 (01:25:33):
I signed a settlement with the child support and insurance
lines were blank. GL told me other party will not
sign it blank.
Speaker 10 (01:25:43):
So a settlement agreement has just said is it's a
settlement agreement. It may have been left blank because they
didn't have that information at the time, and technically they
probably shouldn't have signed it until they filled in that number. Now,
what we do with settlement agreements is is that's not
what we file with the court. Well, so we'll follow
a copy if it's a mediated settlement agreement, okay, But
(01:26:04):
what will happen is is we typically take those settlement
agreements and then we turn it into a document, a
divorced decree or whatever it may order, modification, whatever it
may be, that reflects all the information, including the correct
information of the missing insurance and whatever it may be.
So you know, if this is just a settlement agreement,
I'm guessing those numbers are going to get filled in
when they run the child support computation because that's where
(01:26:26):
we get those numbers that they're talking about or blank
and maybe they just didn't run the computation when they
did the agreement.
Speaker 6 (01:26:32):
I don't know as a whole.
Speaker 2 (01:26:34):
And you don't have to sign it, right, could have
he or she could have denied signing at that time
until those blanks were filled in.
Speaker 10 (01:26:40):
Yeah, you could have said, look, I'm not going to
sign this because it's not complete. Please complete it and
then I'll sign it. The other side saying they're not
going to sign without it being complained.
Speaker 6 (01:26:49):
Is completely reasonable.
Speaker 10 (01:26:51):
So whoever drafted it up just needs to fill in
the blanks.
Speaker 6 (01:26:55):
It's that simple.
Speaker 2 (01:26:56):
Every situation in law is a little bit different, and
that's why there's no blanket answer on what you should do.
And Jeff and the folks in the Jeff and the
folks at Hensley Associates can help you navigate family lost situations.
They're at your disposal. Of you mentioned KMOD, you're gonna
get a free consultation over the phone. All you need
to do is give them a call eight three three
(01:27:18):
I'm sorry three nine eight five six nine two. I
was looked at the wrong sheet three ninety eight five
six nine two. Turning fifty. Things are a little harder.
Speaker 6 (01:27:27):
For me to get Tom not far behind.
Speaker 2 (01:27:28):
I get it three nine eight five six nine two
three nine eight five six nine two mentioned kmod over
the phone. Get a free consultation. And if you have
a question like this one, I'm gonna read for Jeff.
They have another place that they can help you with,
not just with family, Low says. Is there a statute
of limitations on suing the county in another state? I'm
in Oklahoma and I was arrested in Washington in twenty seventeen.
(01:27:48):
My charges were dismissed with prejudice because the police gave
me a black eye.
Speaker 6 (01:27:54):
I would imagine there is.
Speaker 10 (01:27:55):
And so what you want to do is you want
to give Sam Allison a call up in our Prahusca office.
Speaker 6 (01:27:59):
All right.
Speaker 10 (01:28:00):
Now, the name of the firm up there she make
it is different than Hensley, but it is ours, all right.
We just kept the name it because it's been there
since nineteen seventy five, with that being said, give Sam
a call up there.
Speaker 6 (01:28:10):
He can help you with these kind of questions.
Speaker 10 (01:28:11):
Now, our office up in Pahsca got hit with the
storms two weeks ago and that building is now completely
having to be in a restoration process and being redone.
We are literally just across the street at five oh
seven Kahika, which is literally Caddy corner from our front door.
Up there, you'll see the signs and nothing's changed. We
(01:28:32):
just moved into a new space until they got our
building completed, which will be six to twelve months is
what they're telling us.
Speaker 6 (01:28:37):
So we'll see.
Speaker 10 (01:28:37):
But with that being said, Sam is still up there,
still representing people on all issues, including family law and
including things like this when you're dealing with criminal cases
andsuing government entities if possible, so please give Sam a call.
Speaker 6 (01:28:49):
He would love to help you out.
Speaker 2 (01:28:50):
Three nine eight five six ninety two for Hensley Associates
three nine eight five six nine two for Hensley Associates. Jeff,
have a great week, Hey too, Thanks break, We'll be.
Speaker 3 (01:28:59):
Back listening to the Big Man Morning Show. This he

with the Tulsa Drillers. Hey buddy, Hey, good morning to you,
Good morning to you. And you guys are getting ready
to start a little Fourth of July home stand, which
is always a great thing to do with family when
they come into town or just go out and you guys,
normally you'll do fireworks maybe on a Friday, maybe a
(01:29:25):
Friday and a Saturday, maybe on the fourth July, but
you guys are doing all three home games for the
short homestand.
Speaker 4 (01:29:32):
Yeah, this is our celebration here. We're calling it our Red,
White and Drillers.
Speaker 9 (01:29:36):
Blue Holiday Spectacular, and it's our three biggest firework shows
of the season. So we're doing it Tuesday night, Wednesday night,
and Thursday night leading up to the holiday there to
the July fourth. Again, this is the closest you're gona
be able to get to fireworks with that downtown skyline
right there. Don't fight the crowds right going to there's
other great shows that are happening around there on July
fourth and during the weekend here, but get your pre
(01:29:57):
before and come out enjoy it. And again, tickets started
just eight dollar dollars there or excuse me, ten dollars
with all the fees included everything good to go.
Speaker 4 (01:30:03):
You're in the door for ten dollars there.
Speaker 2 (01:30:05):
Yeah, back to back firework shows starting Tuesday down at
one Oakfield. Get you tickets Tulsa Drillers dot com. And
with this home stand, you guys are doing something. You're
kind of focusing on the community. Each night. You've got
something special focused on the Tulsa community.
Speaker 4 (01:30:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:30:20):
Absolutely, so Tuesday night the second half started. So we're
a clean slate and actually just had a great home
stand or a great week down there in Frisco. We
won four of the six games there, So I don't
know if we're in first place, but we're pretty darm first.
Speaker 4 (01:30:32):
Okay, there we go. All right, we like that. So
we're coming into this.
Speaker 9 (01:30:35):
Guys are riding hot and Tuesday nights we're doing a
kind of an opening night two point zero. We had
some crummy weather there when we open the season, so
we're doing.
Speaker 4 (01:30:43):
A big youth parade on the field.
Speaker 9 (01:30:46):
So any kid that shows up in a youth sports jersey,
it could be baseball, softball, football, you can come in
your wrestling single it, you can come with whatever you.
Speaker 2 (01:30:55):
Had, lacrosse, lacrosse worked E game. Huh E game? Sure.
Speaker 9 (01:31:00):
Absolutely, any kid twelve and younger in some sort of
youth sports Jersey Cornhole like it.
Speaker 4 (01:31:05):
Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (01:31:06):
What if you're a swimmer.
Speaker 9 (01:31:08):
Swimmer, where your bidding suit? Okay, great, I am down
with it. We want them to come out to the
ballpark and enjoy it. Come right to the gate. We're
gonna give you a free ferguson Kia Lawn ticket. Parents
got to get buy your tickets obviously to get in,
but then all the kids can line up. You got
to get there early, get there by six fifteen. We're
going to parade all the kids around the field. What
a cool experience. Come down again, see all the different sports. Again,
(01:31:31):
it's about the kids. It's about the community getting out
there and supporting all the sports that are out there.
Speaker 2 (01:31:35):
Yeah, that's just on Tuesday night. On Wednesday night, you
guys do Military Appreciation Night.
Speaker 9 (01:31:40):
Yes, Wednesday night with our friends over at Jim Glover Chevrolet. There,
we're doing a huge military appreciation night. So two free
tickets for any military that is currently active or a
veteran there. Just bring your license or your ID there,
your military id down to the box office and get
two field reserve tickets on us, So bring aked enjoy it.
(01:32:01):
Just our way to say thank you. Come on, enjoy
the game as we lead into the holiday weekend there.
Speaker 2 (01:32:06):
And then on Thursday, trying to give back to the
community where you guys are doing something you guys have
done this before. The OBI Blood Drive.
Speaker 9 (01:32:12):
Yes, one of our favorite things we do every single year.
Our friends over at OBI will be outside of the
ballpark from two until eight o'clock that evening.
Speaker 4 (01:32:21):
Call them.
Speaker 9 (01:32:21):
Spots are filling up very very quickly. Again during the summertime.
I know the blood levels get low there and they
need the reserve. So please come out and donate and
you get tickets to another game to come back. There
an opportunity to try to throw it a first pitch too,
so all the people that give blood that day will
have an opportunity for that to be registered for that
great day going on there outside the ballpark and then
(01:32:42):
inside again our biggest fireworks show of the season and Corbyn,
we do something pretty cool on this day. We just
sold out on one side of it, but we're opening
up the bush Light landing now we have all you
can eat seats, all you can eat for two hours
squeeze me yo. Yeah, for thirty eight bucks. A great
seat up on the core, the bush light landing up
there on the third baseline, overlooking downtown. Private bar up there,
(01:33:05):
all you can eat burgers, dogs, brought all that kind
of good stuff for thirty eight bucks.
Speaker 4 (01:33:09):
It's a beautiful thing.
Speaker 2 (01:33:10):
Yeah, and I challenge you to try and get your
thirty eight dollars worth. We'll see if you can do that.
I was just looking because the weather looks like it's
going to be great. Feels like temperature should be nice,
and it might feel a little sticky. You guys have
a solution for that, right, it feels a little warm.
Speaker 9 (01:33:25):
We got all sorts of stuff going on, whether it's
from the you know, the food and the ice cream
that we have out there, going on a splash stone.
Go down there and enjoy that.
Speaker 4 (01:33:33):
You know.
Speaker 9 (01:33:33):
One of my favorite places in the ballpark too is
hop into that Team store when it's a little toasty
out there, hopping that Team store and you can cool
down real quick. We got a bunch of new stuff.
We actually just released our new noon as I did.
Speaker 2 (01:33:44):
Look there so tight.
Speaker 4 (01:33:45):
Do you like that?
Speaker 2 (01:33:46):
Yeah, it looks like that. I liked the green before,
but this yellow, it just has a different feel to it.
It looks it looks crisp.
Speaker 9 (01:33:53):
Can you believe it's been five years already since we
introduced that all its crazy concept I only see in
the mirror.
Speaker 2 (01:34:00):
Oh yeah, really really.
Speaker 4 (01:34:01):
Excited about that.
Speaker 9 (01:34:01):
So a lot of fun things happened at the ballpark,
and this whole second half of the season, we got
a ton of stuff going on.
Speaker 2 (01:34:06):
Yeah. One of the things too, I love about when
you go to a Drillers game down at One Oakfield
is you know, I remember what it was like when
we first were at the ballpark when One Oak first opened,
and you had to there were a couple spots to
get a beer besides the concession stands. Now there's so
many places to get a beverage of your choice. You've
(01:34:27):
got Oklahoma's largest outdoor bar underneath the scoreboard. You've got
the is it the Hoppensteing.
Speaker 4 (01:34:34):
Bar Sting Brewing bar out there, yep.
Speaker 2 (01:34:36):
You've got that spot. You've got the place over there
by the souvenir shop. I mean, there's places everywhere besides
the concession stands and besides the grab and go area,
which is also a great place to go there's no
shortage of ways to get whatever it is you want
to eat your drink at one Oakfield.
Speaker 9 (01:34:54):
Yeah, there's plenty of variety, plenty of options for everyone
out there, whether you've got dietary restrictions, whether you want
some thing different.
Speaker 4 (01:35:00):
I think that's the best.
Speaker 9 (01:35:01):
Thing is we really pride ourselves on not having the
lines be too long. I want you to enjoy the experience.
I want you to enjoy the time with your friends
and family. So we really really work hard to have
all those opportunities open to people. And like you said,
walk into Grab and Go. We got fresh oppings right there.
You got one of you guys beer.
Speaker 2 (01:35:17):
We got cans in.
Speaker 9 (01:35:18):
There, cans in there, you got everything. You got hot
dogs right there. Our chef just started putting a warmer
in there. We got chicken wings in there. Now if
you want something fresh, we got pre made salads in there,
and we got fresh fruit in there with watermelon. So
there is something for everyone in the ballpark, which I love.
Speaker 2 (01:35:32):
Yeah, that grabbing go is an I think people just
skim by it. They don't they they I don't know
if they don't understand or what. But it's right there.
You can grab a beer, not wait in line, not
wait for them to pour, and not worry about maybe
it's not gonna be the way. Who knows, it's exactly
the way you want because it grab and go.
Speaker 4 (01:35:47):
You gave away the secret. That is the best cap
secret in the ballpark.
Speaker 2 (01:35:50):
I think that is the best cap secret.
Speaker 9 (01:35:52):
That and then the Osage Casino Greenwood Entrance. I'm telling you,
those are the two things in the ballpark that I
wish more people knew, but I'm glad they don't. That
is the best way to come in, especially on giveaway
nights when we do giveaways out there. Go down in
left Field Park in Greenwood, see what's going on down there.
And then we do giveaways at that gate right there,
and there is about a quarter of the line down there.
Speaker 4 (01:36:12):
That's the place to be.
Speaker 2 (01:36:13):
Is that the entrance underneath the building parts Yep?
Speaker 4 (01:36:16):
Okay, yes, the world fat guys used to be over there.
Speaker 8 (01:36:19):
Yeah, yep.
Speaker 1 (01:36:19):
Now that's going to be the busiest injint Oh.
Speaker 9 (01:36:21):
I'm telling you that is the place to be. That's
the that's the secret entrance over there.
Speaker 2 (01:36:25):

for the short the short homestand starting Tuesday night, Wednesday

Speaker 1 (01:36:54):
Well? I learned that Gampi's girlfriend herd her ankle while
on vacation, which he's got to be kind of relieved,
right because you know, it's kind of hard to sneak
away when you have a sprained ankle. He doesn't have
to worry about her meeting anybody and back behind.
Speaker 2 (01:37:12):
But yeah, I gotta throw the bust.
Speaker 1 (01:37:14):
Yeah. Oh, and I also learned that, uh, you can
go and save some lives at Driller Stadium on Thursday
night with Obi. So do that get blood, save lives? Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:37:26):

some people that made up something mm hmm sounds like
every other movie exactly. Uh and I also learned that
uh go have some go watch some people play with
some balls for the fourth July and see some fireworks
lit in the sky. Seems like a good time down

Speaker 4 (01:38:11):

Speaker 8 (01:38:17):
Interpassword Corbyn new messages. The Big Bad Morning Show would
like to take a minute to thank troops from Oklahoma
and all over the United States.
Speaker 7 (01:38:25):
These soldiers have sacrificed. Did the Big Mad Morning Show
before you to back like the total douchebags that they are?
