Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is directly an incitement for more violence, and it's
also directly incitement for more violence that will come back
to you inevitably as well.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
This is so sick. He is saying that laughing at
a prankster who harmed you in no way as inciting violence.
Today is a day that ends in Why so left
wing internet star Hassan Piker is crying the victim again.
We're going to break this down plus so much more
(00:30):
on today's episode of The Brat Versus Everyone podcast, my
daily show where we take on the craziest ideas from
across the Internet and social media, all from an independent
political perspective. And guys, we have to once again check
in with one of the most controversial and popular political
people on the Internet, Hassan Piker, of a twitch and
(00:53):
YouTube stardom. He is making waves for a trip that
he's gone on to Ireland. He's quite the globe trot
this year. In this trip to Ireland, he got kind
of hilariously trolled, but is now playing the victim in
a way that I find absurd and farcical and arguing
with other streamers like the other streamer Asthman Gold. So
(01:14):
we're going to break all of this down. But first
I'll just give you guys a heads up as to
why he was traveling to Ireland in the first place,
which I found strange, but okay, I guess. Here's a
headline from Irish news outlet, Hassan Piker receives Honorary patronage
Honorary patronage from University Philosophical Society. The left wing political
(01:37):
commentator received the award in a crowded afternoon ceremony yesterday.
Twitch streamer and left wing political commentator Hassan Piker received
the Gold Medal of Honorary Patronage from Trinity College's University
Philosophical Society. Today in a packed GMB chamber, Piker was
greeted by thunderous applause and cheers on his first trip
(02:01):
to Ireland. He was introduced by the president of the organization,
Liam Corcoran, who noted the streamers background achievements and career
quote built by consistency and longevity. So already some questions
to be asked here. I'm certainly not going to sit
here and tell you that Hassan is not a successful
(02:24):
content creator and an influencer and political commentator, but he's
not exactly the most profound philosophical insight into our politics,
and look neither am I like I'm not. I would
find it odd if I was given some sort of
honorary degree by a philosophical society, given that I just
talk about the news and internet bullshit. But that's what
(02:44):
Hassan does as well, And just because he occasionally poorly
rehashes old Marxist Sperry or whatever does not in fact
make him the brilliant philosopher of our times. But whatever,
they can give him, whatever reward they want, I don't
really care. The The thing that's really going viral from
this visit to Ireland that Hassan just had is him
(03:06):
getting trolled on the street by someone. And the context
you need to know for this is the story we
covered a few weeks or months back, because time is fake,
where Hassan allegedly shocked his dog Kaya with a shock
collar and then claimed that he didn't, and pretty forensic
analysis and a lot of the facts of that situation
(03:26):
leave me to personally believe that he did shock the
dog and then lied about it and tried to cover
it up. But anyway, it's become a meme at this
point like free Kaiya the dog and that he's in
a dog abuser and all this stuff, and somebody trolled him,
pretending to be a fan but then holding up a
picture of the dog and saying free Kya. Let's watch
(03:48):
this clip that's now going viral of Hassan getting trolled.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
Yeah, he's I don't have my phone with yeah right,
free Kaya, Free kay.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Jesus, I'll tell you what the power of.
Speaker 5 (04:11):
Social media nuts a bit.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
I'm a bit blown away that people are coming.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
Out to say, hello, Fia, Well it's great, like it's deadly,
you know, it's pretty hard in the world, or that, Yeah,
it's funny because the guy that he's with and I
don't know who that is, but has no idea that
that was actually like a Hassan hater or troll and
thinks that was a fan, doesn't understand the reference that
just happened. But yeah, if you if you're just listening this,
this guy went up to his sun, asked for a picture,
(04:38):
pretend to be a fan, then held up a picture
of Kaya getting shocked, like a meme photo that someone made,
and then said free Kaya all on the live stream.
So this is called I guess stream sniping or something
got I feel like so old when I talk about
these things. But essentially, it's when somebody is live streaming
in public and you like prank control their stream. It
(04:59):
happens to streamer across the spectrum. It's just kind of
an inevitable part of publicly filming yourself and in live
in real time when you are a well known and
controversial figure. Nothing stuck out to me about this as
like beyond the pale. This guy didn't insult him, attack him,
do anything, which I wouldn't support, no matter how I
feel about his son. But it did become a viral moment,
(05:23):
and others weighed in on it, including for example, Asmond Gold,
who is kind of in the streaming world. He's a
very popular content creator and streamer, but he's like Hassan's
arch nemesis. And Asmon had this to say about the incident.
Let's watch this. I think might be the clip of
the year. I think this could be it.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
Oh my god, I have one word, patriot, absolute patriot.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
This is amazing. And he just pulls it out too,
He pulls it right out.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Why why?
Speaker 6 (06:00):
What?
Speaker 3 (06:00):
What?
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Watch it happen real quick?
Speaker 5 (06:02):
Come here?
Speaker 6 (06:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Right, free Kaya free kaya jesus.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
I'll tell you what the power of social media. Oh
my god, you go to one hundred political rallies, you
promote one hundred candidates, and you shock one dog. You're
not a political activist, you're a dog zapper. Here's the
thing too, this is the power of social media. Yeah,
(06:33):
and I love how like this nice irishman that he's with,
who's just trying to take this you know, this foreign
guy who you know, oh wow, you know, like we're
celebrating this nice guy. You're gonna take him around town,
and you know, he's you know, Hassan's pleasant person.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Everything's fine. And he thinks that these are fans. He's
got no idea, he doesn't even know.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
Yeah, he thinks I like it, yes, exactly, And yeah,
he's like, isn't this amazing?
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Wow, You've got all your fans. So I do agree
with Asmund Gould that the funniest part of this video
is the guy. The guy he's with has no idea.
That just makes it way funnier, honestly. But to me,
it's harmless, right, Like when we're talking about a world
where Charlie Kirk gets shot, where you know, different democratic
politicians have been killed as well or phased attacks. It's like,
(07:22):
of course, I don't want anything to happen to his son,
But a little bit of trolling is fine, right, like
even public like not cat calling, it's not the right word,
But heckling of politicians or political figures is okay as
long as we're staying on the side of words and
jokes and not descending into like violence or stocking or
anything like that. That should be beyond the payal for everyone,
(07:44):
no matter how you feel about them. Right, that's part
of a free society. We all get to say our
piece and nobody crosses the line in response to it.
We need to be across the board firm on that.
But to me, this seems like obviously on the right
side of that line, Like it's just a meme, it's
just a prank, it's just a joke. No, but he
got hurt. Nothing terrible happened. But Hassan is acting like
he's been horrifically victimized, and as if people like Asmin
(08:07):
Gold who are reacting to this and laughing at it
and appreciating it, are somehow inciting violence or pushing him
into danger, or he even said they should be banned
for simply laughing at this clip and reacting to it.
Let's watch Hassan here discussing this, and I'll give you
my thoughts as we go along, because he really deserves
(08:28):
a kind of gold medal in the victim Olympics. Gymnastics,
the mental gymnastics here contorting yourself into a victim are
almost impressive. Let's watch.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
It is truly a stupid thing for someone like Asmen
Gold to entertain this kind of stuff.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
It is.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
It's a very very stupid thing for him to do,
because not only could something far more consequential happen to
me after he has egged it on and cheered it
on without.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Saying, okay, I don't think it's fair say that if
you laugh at people harmlessly pranking you, therefore, and somebody
goes and kills you or hurts you, you're responsible for that.
If Asmen Gold was out here saying, yes, somebody go
beat up Hassan, or somebody go rough him up or
show him anything like that, I would be absolutely against it.
But he's just laughing at a joke that is harmless
(09:20):
and non violent. So to then say that, well, then
if something worse than that happens, you're responsible for egging
it on. Is totally unfair and it's all so rich
coming from the guy Hassan who famously said that a
Republican senator should be killed over and over again on
his live stream and got like a very short term ban.
I think it was like for a day or maybe
(09:40):
a week. I don't remember. It was very short term. Yeah,
bit rich, but go off, I guess.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
On without saying, hey, I think it's really dumb if
you're like a hater of a content grid or you
probably shouldnt approach them in public like that. Instead of
saying that, which would be the normal thing to do,
you celebrate it.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Okay, Why can't you approach them in a respectful or
not respectful as you're trolling them? But like, sure, if
somebody is IRL streaming and they have decided to be
a massively divisive, inflammatory political streamer, why is it beyond
the pale for somebody who's a critic of them to
(10:16):
approach them or speak to them or interact with them
in any way. Why you don't get a safety bubble
wrapped around you where you are immune from public engagement
even though you profit off of and rely on the
public for your multi million dollar revenue stream. Like what, No,
that seems ridiculous to me. Nobody in traditional journalism would
(10:36):
expect that. Like if you're a TV host, if you're
a Fox or a CNN host, you would never expect that. Oh,
I'm off limits for people to come up and speak
to me about my work. No, if you choose to
be a recognizable figure, you are signing up for that.
And I admit it can be uncomfy, can be scary,
but it doesn't It's part of the job. And as
long as no one crosses any lines, you have to
(10:58):
accept it. It's not off limit.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Like, I don't know, Cope, what happens when someone comes
up to me and actually has an interest in engaging
me with you know, engaging me in a more physical way.
What if that's already happened. What if that's already happened.
(11:22):
Just because I haven't talked about it doesn't mean it
hasn't happened. What if that's already happened.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Well, that would be horrible, and I'm sure Esmen Gold
would agree. But like, so, so you're saying everyone has
to discourage anyone from ever talking to you, or interacting
with you in public in case somebody tries to hurt
you with a gun. Those two things don't follow, Like
we are allowed to laugh at people criticizing you or
(11:48):
trolling you without supporting harm done being done to you,
and you would never apply this standard in the same way. Ever,
I'm sure he has defended Democratic officials who've encourage people
to call out Trump officials and Republicans and let them
know in the streets what they think of them, and
all of that. I'm sure he has no problem with that.
You're not different. You've chosen to be a national political figure.
(12:11):
You don't get the perks of that with none of
the downsides. Now, of course, any physical confrontation is off
limits and is terrible and nobody should ever do that.
But even if that has happened to you, that's a
reason that no one should advocate for that or support that.
If they were laughing at that, I would be on
your side. But they're still allowed to laugh at people
(12:31):
peacefully engaging with you like this, math is not math?
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Thing happened, what if it happens to you? Content creators
know that other content creators addresses are fairly easy to
find online, whether it be my address or whether it
be asmen goals address. Content creators also know that other
content creators are constantly having to deal with this kind
(12:56):
of stuff behind closed doors. There's a reason why content
creators don't talk about this kind of stuff.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
I should just pause on that for a second to
say that this being on your stream that you know
millions of people will see across the YouTube and Twitch
and clips and everything, and being like, you know content
creators addresses are out there, including asthmin Gold and naming
others is way more reckless than laughing at a prank
(13:23):
Like that is way more likely. You're still not ultimately responsible.
If somebody looks up their address and goes and hurts them,
it's still ultimately on that person. But if we're talking
about responsibly using our platforms, that is like way more
likely to incite something bad happening then simply laughing at
a prank. I think the most likely thing that laughing
at the prank might do is encourage people to further
prank you about kaya in public. Not to No rational
(13:47):
person sees Asman Gold laughing at that, and it's like, oh,
I guess I should go shoot hasan nobody would and
if crazy person thinks that they're crazy and would have
done it anyway, But you reminding people they can find
your enemy's addresses on stream is exponentially more irresponsible than
them laughing at someone pranking you. But please tell me
more about how you're the victim. I can't stand this,
(14:08):
whether it's left wing or right wing people. Everyone wants
to be a victim so bad when they're in fact
among the most privileged human beings to ever exist. It
is nauseating, honestly.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
In order not to egg it on, what happens when
this happens to you. The next time you're going through
drive through at Wendy's, someone took Temple's beanie and he
talked about it as though he was an assassination for
years on end, guy stalks me with malicious intent. It's
not that big of a deal.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
At the end, Oh my god, I cannot believe he's
describing somebody pranking him with a meme about the dog
as stalking him with malicious intent. Kim. People are dying like,
I don't know. I'm not going to get out the
world's tiniest violin for you. That somebody held up a
meme about your dog and pranked you on stream. I'm
(15:00):
worked with the malicious intent. Give me a break, brother,
And the funny thing is or it's not funny, it's
actually sad. I'm sure he faces like real stocking and harassment,
but then to invoke that rhetoric about this almost as
like a joke when I'm sure you have actual things
you could highlight that are actually harmful.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Well, at the end of the day, because you know,
I'm gonna diffuse that situation because most people are not
going to behave too crazy in the normal world, right,
But like, there's a lot of effort that he put
into this. Do you not think that this is not
normal behavior? Do you think that this is behavior that
should be celebrated? Are you that fucking stupid? There was
a time and place when that kind of celebration would
(15:38):
have been immediately banned. Okay, Like I cannot believe it.
I'm one of the biggest content creators on the platform,
Asthma Gold's one of the biggest content creators on the platform.
A stream sliper shows up asthmen Gold celebrates it. Four
years ago, Twitch would have instantly banned asmen Gold.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
This is insane he is saying that Asmin Golds should
be banned for laughing at someone pranking him from the
platform Twitch that has allowed his son without a permanent
ban and often just giving him these tiny slaps on
the wrists to say the most insane, outrageous and violent
things over and over and over again, like when he
(16:16):
repeatedly said Republican Senator Rick Scott should be killed. And
you're gonna say somebody laughing at a prank should get
them banned from Twitch? It is astounding. This dude has
said publicly that he supports designated US terror groups, and
he's going to say that Asmin Gould laughing at a
prank should get him banned. It is he knows that
he's Twitches Golden boy for whatever reason. I mean, maybe
(16:39):
it's just the money he makes them, but or maybe
there's something deeper to it. But he knows he is beyond,
like beyond really touching by the Twitch hierarchy. And that's
one thing, But then to say that, well, that would
abuse that well, then actively at the same time calling
for people to be banned for exponentially more minor offenses
(16:59):
than the things you have yourself repeatedly done is simply diabolical. Frankly,
let's keep going here.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
Gold Like, no questions. Anyone who does it like that,
they would get banned. If I did that, I would
get banned. Can incite violence, right, I'm inciting violence. This
is directly an incitement for more violence. And it's also
directly incitement for more violence that will come back to
you inevitably as well.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
This is so sick. He is saying that laughing at
a prankster who harmed you in no way as inciting violence.
But remember Hassan gaslights us that when he repeatedly said
a Republican senator should be killed, he wasn't inciting violence.
You couldn't write this if you're trying to write a
parody of a hypocritical, out of touch influencer, you could
(17:47):
not write one better than Hassan Piker Lee as WHOA.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
It's a really, really, really shitty thing to do if
you're a content creator, and it's also very shortsighted for you.
What do you think they're gonna do or say to
you when you go outside? You got a lot more
haters than I do, Motherer, I don't give a shit
about going outside. I'll go outside every goddamn day. You
(18:12):
are terrified of going outside. You got more haters than
I do. Why you think you can just lean into
the shit on the internet.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Wow. He is just so so out of touch and hypocritical,
and it is so ridiculous to see him constantly playing
the victim and acting even though he is probably in
I don't know, the top point zero zero one percent
of most privileged human beings to have ever existed. He's
constantly somehow the victim, and it is exhausting and it
(18:45):
is so dishonest framing as well to act like he
has been harmed by this and that asmen Gold went
too far. I'm sure there are other clips and other
things asmen Gold has done that have gone too far,
but this isn't one of them. Laughing at a prank
is fine. Actually, you are not a victim because somebody
prankd to you. Actually, you know who The real victim
here is still the dog that you zapped for no
reason allegedly no defamation, but I think you did. And
(19:10):
I'm just sick of this guy and his antics. But
they do make for entertaining content. I will say that
for us to discuss and dissect. But you guys will
have to let me know what you think in the
comments below. Make sure subscribed, hit the leg button while
you are at it, and all of that. Now, guys,
up next, we are going to check in with the
(19:32):
Piers Morgan Uncensored Show and their latest really unhinged discussion
interview with a MAGA influencer who cosplays as a congressional candidate,
and frankly, I think her career is probably over after
this thorough dismantling from Pierce Morgan. So this woman's name
(19:53):
is Valentina. Let's see Valentina Gomez. She is a Twitter
troll who occasionally runs for Congress so she can take
people's money in the form of campaign donations. I'm sure
she ran in Missouri, I believe, and got about seven
percent of the vote, but now she's switched to Texas.
(20:14):
I guess we're just carpetbagging openly. Her campaign strategy seems
to be to just say the most vile, low iq broad,
bigoted statements imaginable for attention and clicks, and it's working.
She's got over six hundred thousand followers on Twitter and
here's the campaign video she put out that earned her
the attention of Pierce Morgan and ridicule from across the internet.
(20:38):
I think you'll see why when we take a look.
Speaker 7 (20:40):
Let's listen, Texas, I've officially followed to become your next congresswoman,
So the choice is yours both for me, so we
can kick every dirty Muzzlam out of Texas, save your
daughters from getting by Mohammed, and protect our soldiers from
getting murdered in broad daylight. Let me be very clear,
we will make Texas the worst place for rumors, terrors, Muslims,
(21:02):
any illegals to live in, So help me God. For me,
this is just an election, But for you and your daughter,
this is your life because Texas has only gotten more
Muslim under these week Republicans. New York City already fell
to Islam, so did Michigan and Minnesota, and you're next
in line. If Texas falls to Islam, it's simply because
you didn't go correctly.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
God bless you all. The uh powered by Jesus Christ
is a nice touch to that campaign message. And she
has christ as King and her bio on social media
as well. And y'all know I don't like to speak
about religion because it is not my area of expertise,
but I will say it is not giving christ like
to me. The message in this it is so vile,
(21:43):
so bigoted, so so like unrealistic too. I mean this
idea that you could so I know, on the idea
that like Michigan has fallen to the Muslims, that's news
to me as somebody who was living in Grand Rapids
for years. I didn't really see very many Muslims around me.
I know, there's Dearborn, there's like one part of Michigan
that has a lot of Muslims, but it's a big
(22:04):
freaking state. And the idea that has fallen too Muslims
is a little absurd. And just this idea, oh, we're
going to kick all the dirty. First off, calling all
Muslims dirty is not true. It's just wildly gross. It's
just kindergarten level mud slinging. And then we're going to
kick them all out of Texas. No, you're not, first
of all, because we have a constitution that protects religious
(22:25):
freedom and you cannot simply kick people out because of
their religion. You're advocating blatant, illegal and unconstitutional acts that
you would also have literally no power to do as
a congresswoman for the federal government to kick people out
of your state, Like it doesn't even make sense on
its own horrendously hateful and bigoted terms. It's such an
(22:47):
obvious I can't tell if she's genuinely stupid, Like are
we talking to a woman or talking about a woman
with sixty an IQ of sixty or seventy or is
it all just a bit and she's just grifting for
fundraising and to go viral for attention. I think it's
probably the latter. But when you listen to her to speak,
(23:09):
her verbal IQ is incredibly low, and it would almost
be hard to imitate that if you're not actually like
a borderline brain dead. So as you will see when
Pierce challenges her on her views, she's not able to
articulate or to defend them. But unfortunately social media has
just promoted this the rise of the rage bader and
(23:30):
the grifter, and that is what she seems to be
to me. But you guys can decide for yourselves as
you get to see and hear more of this lovely,
lovely woman.
Speaker 5 (23:38):
Let's listen, why would you be so blasicently hateful towards
one group of people.
Speaker 6 (23:44):
You call it hateful and biggity and racist and all
of that garbage. I call it the truth.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
I mean, I'm not one to throw around and it hate, race, bigoted,
those kinds of things lightly, But what else can you
call it? The thing she says like it just is ruth.
Speaker 6 (24:02):
America is a Christian nation. These Muslims come to Christian nations,
burn our churches, raap our women, shoot our American soldiers
point blank, killing one of them in broad day life,
then chanting alawak bar feers. My brother is a National Guardsman.
He literally puts himself on the line for this nation.
So yes, these during Muslims.
Speaker 7 (24:20):
Have no place in America and have no place in England.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
But see, this is just horrible. You're blaming the actions
of individuals on an entire group of people, millions of Muslims.
And to be clear, I'm somebody with lots of criticisms
and shade for mainstream Islamic beliefs, but that's not the
same thing as demonizing all Muslims, who, like any group
of people, like any religion, have a wide array of
(24:43):
beliefs and values. And there are Muslim doctors and teachers
all across America who are one US citizens born and
raised here, loved the country, and two are positive influences
on their community. Not raping anybody. You're just you're I
don't know. She just comes off as not even like
a I'm open to some hot takes on like Muslim
(25:05):
immigration or these other kinds of things. I'm not somebody
to clutch my pearls. But she's she just does it
in such an obviously discriminatory and divisive and low IQ
way that it's it's tough to watch. Who are her
unironic fans? That's what I want to know, because she
has a lot of them on social media. And do
they I don't know, did they ever leave the basement?
(25:27):
Like it's really weird stuff.
Speaker 5 (25:30):
But as you speak, you see, I'm just seeing a
brazen islamophobe. And people say that phrase doesn't exist. It doesn't,
And I'm sure you find it funny, But I think
you can make perfectly pertinent points about what's happened here
without descending into such vile hatred towards an entire religion.
There are five million Muslims in the United States. Why
would you want to categorize them in such a grotesque manner?
Speaker 6 (25:53):
Oh? And those famillion months. Muslims should definitely go back
to their fifty six Muslim nations. And let's get something
very clear right now, your little show years, I don't
fear the groomers, I don't fear the I don't fear
the corropal exicians, and I definitely do not fear the
dirty Muslims.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Oh my god, she's so unhinged. She just brings up
unrelated stuff. She says, your little show peers, as if
this isn't one of the biggest shows in all of media,
and as if he's not exponentially bigger than she could
ever hope to be. It's all just, I mean, I
think it's I can't decide, y'all will have to let
me know in the comments, like if you think it's
(26:27):
a bit, if it's performance art and just a blatant grift,
or if this is actually a person who is this
crazy and deranged. I can't really decide.
Speaker 5 (26:37):
Let me bring in Can I jump in here real quick?
Speaker 7 (26:39):
Yeah you can?
Speaker 6 (26:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (26:40):
No, I mean, just we should be clear about the fact.
I mean sure, Valentina is just a biggot, plain and
simple engages in the worst kinds of bigotry. Imaginable. But
it's worth noting that she's fundamentally un American because the
American Constitution says that you cannot discriminate against people based
on religion. That it's pretty clear. And so she's engaging
in an anti American campaign in the name of protech America,
(27:00):
which is just irony beyond imagination. So, yes, she's a Charlatan.
She doesn't know what she's talking about. You can tell
by looking at her that her IQ hovers are on
room temperature to meet. The real scandal is not engaging
with her directly because she's beneath taking seriously. But the
problem is with the GOP that you have a major
party in this country having a candidate running under its
flagship engaging in this kind of really incredibly hateful, incendiary
(27:21):
rhetoric and they do nothing about it.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
So a couple thoughts on what Omar said there. And
he's somebody who's like a left wing progressive, so I
don't generally agree with most of his perspectives, but I
at the very least I do agree with what he
said about freedom of religion being a pretty foundational American principle,
and it is deeply ironic. Same with the First Amendment
to be actively campaigning in defiance of those things. You're
(27:46):
claiming that you're like the pro America candidate, You're obviously not.
Obviously Americans believe in religious freedom for Muslims, for Christians,
for Jews, for atheists and beyond. And while we can
have a conversation about cultural assimilation and immigration, and if
some groups have that are coming here have more problematic
(28:07):
views on certain issues than others, I'm open to all
of that. I'm not one to shut down these conversations
because they're problematic or anything like that. Simply saying get
all the Muslims out is absurd and immoral and evil
and also obviously illegal, nonconstitutional. So you're just you're not
a serious person, and you're openly a hateful person. So
I agree with the omarsh criticism there. I'm not sure
(28:28):
exactly what the GOP is supposed to do about it
in his sense, like maybe there's an element here who
I don't but for example, when she ran in twenty
twenty four as for the secretary of State position in
Missouri as a MAGA Republican or what have you. I
believe and I'm reading here from NBC News She finished
(28:49):
sixth in the eight person primary with seven percent of
the vote. What Republicans rejected her there? I hope and
assume they'll will reject her in Congress, the congresstional race
that she's entered in now in Texas. But I guess
my question is, like, what can they do. I don't
think they can just kick out problematic people from running,
can they. I don't think that's a thing. And I
(29:12):
don't know that she's really broadly representative of anything other
than the kind of rage bait careerism that's developed in
the age of the Internet, where just you can build
a brand and income stream for yourself by just being
out intentionally inflammatory and outrageous, and how you have to
keep going to new and new levels to keep because
(29:33):
it doesn't hit the same Like her first videos were
like outrageous, but not this bad. And she's gotten crazier
and crazier and crazier over the years because if she
stays at the same level of crazy, people won't pay attention.
He has to keep escalating. And so I think we
can draw some conclusions about the distorted incentive structure of
the online political ecosystem these days. But I'm not sure
(29:54):
we can draw any broad conclusion about the whole Republican
Party based on this one crazy woman. And I guess
I would say this about one particularly it's not like
she even got the nomination. Like, if she gets the
Republican Party's nomination for a race, then I think we
could have that conversation. But as long as she is
simply a primary candidate, I'm not really sure it's fair
(30:15):
to blame the entire Republican Party over it. That's my
perspective at least, though I do appreciate Peers's very direct
and confrontational style with this woman, and I think she
kind of falls apart. Like that's the thing again, this
idea of don't platform bigots is actually very silly because
when you do platform them, just how ridiculous and unserious
(30:39):
and frankly, like you said, room temperature IQ they actually
are often becomes immediately apparent. So kudos to Peers in
the panel for taking this woman on, and hopefully her
political career does not succeed, and hopefully at some point
she gets a hobby other than race baiting and inflaming
(31:01):
tensions and just rage baiting and trolling, because it's not
particularly interesting or impressive. That's my take on it all,
but you guys can let me know what you think
