A pulp novel phenomena, Remo Williams, The Destroyer first jumped out of the novels into film in 1985 by frequent James Bond director Guy Hamilton a with Fred Ward in the title roll and Joel Grey as Remo's sensei Chiun. The controversy of cultural appropriation aside, Remo Williams the Adventure Begins (1985) is a fun action, adventure, comedy film that had a lot of potential for a remake.
