(00:02):
Hi there.
This is the first PacificNorthwest Told Podcast.
I'm your host, Todd Pryor.
This is a very personal project for myselfand I thank you so much for joining in.
My goal is to create at leastone year of weekly podcasts to
(00:26):
learn more about my community.
I'm not sure of all the episodes thatI'll be doing and how interesting
they're going to be for anyone else, but for me it's a chance to learn more.
In conversations that I've beenlucky enough to be a part of,
you see, I joined this programlast year called Leadership Bend.
(00:48):
Sitting works with the , bend Chamberof Commerce, and I learned so much
from so many different groups about thehistory of Central Oregon and how it
connects nationally, and I learned about.
Water rights and immigration and allthese other things that I just, I
(01:12):
just didn't know I didn't know about.
And I had the opportunity to learn thesethings and every single time I finished
one of these sessions, I. I was justsitting there going, golly, it'd be
really fun to learn more about this.
I want to sit down and have coffee.
I want to have a beer with this person.
I wanna learn more about whatis going on in their world.
(01:33):
And because of that, I made adecision to do this podcast.
I don't know if it's gonna be exciting.
I don't know if it's gonna be great.
I don't know if it's gonna be successful.
I don't know if it's gonna touchanyone, but just pretty much anything
else that is, I wouldn't say a passionproject, but something in that realm.
You just gotta do it for you andhope it touches someone else.
(01:56):
And that's really whatI'm planning on doing.
I don't know if it's gonna be good.
I don't know if it's gonna be exciting.
I'm gonna try the best that I can.
I'm gonna try it in different formats.
I'm gonna try studio.
I'm gonna try it justlike this with just audio.
Heck, I may do some video conferencing.
Meetings.
I'm not sure how this is goingto progress, but my intent is
(02:17):
to provide a product that isinformative for myself, and I hope
that you learn something as well.
In the upcoming episodes, I'm gonna sitdown with an old friend and chat a little
bit about his life and how baseballaffected it, how he is a fantastic
(02:38):
dad, and learn more about some of thethings that he does better than I do.
Try to become a little bit moreof an improved version of myself.
I'm gonna sit down with a. Woman who owho runs a nonprofit and is a a veteran.
And I wanna learn a little bit about howwomen are affected and what the ex their
(02:59):
experiences post-military experience.
I'm gonna learn a little bitabout, I. Immigration law.
One of the big questions that I'veheard recently, and this is a ongoing
statement across the nation, iswhy don't people come here legally?
And I don't know the true answerlogistically on that, so I'm gonna
learn a little bit about that.
(03:21):
I've asked my friends with disabilitiesto come on and talk a little bit about
their experience in life and someof the things that challenge them.
I'm gonna reach out to my local, pOpolicy makers and see if they can jump on.
I'm going to talk to folks about what theydo and what their passions are and learn
a little bit more about them and alsohopefully get a chance to learn myself.
(03:46):
So I hope this is beneficial to you.
I hope you listen.
And if it's not, that's okay too.
There's a lot of podcastsout there, let's be honest.
And not all of 'em aremeant to be listened to.
I. I will try to do something exciting.
I'll try to make this interesting.
I'll probably try to make this alittle bit more fun to listen to.
(04:10):
The first one I'm assuming soundslike a Bob Ross painting, so very
calm and relaxed, stick with me.
I'll have a few pretty exciting ones soon.
Feel free to subscribe if you listen.
Awesome.
If you don't, that's okay too.
I appreciate you as a person.
I appreciate your time and I understandthat there's only so much of it,
so I. I wish you peace and calm andhappiness and if what I do provides
(04:35):
any benefit to you, I'm really excited.
