Bree) (00:00):
Welcome to Rebel CEO, the podcast where we ditch the rules and build businesses that don't just make money, but set your soul on fire. I'm Brianna K, your business coach, freedom advocate, and personal permission slip to dream bigger. I scaled my own business to six figures while breaking every mold that people told me to fit into. And now I'm here to help you do the same. I'll help you build a business and a life that's so deeply rooted in your purpose that you never feel like you missed out on the life that you were supposed to live.

(00:27):
This is your time to root down, rise up, Rebel, and manifest all of your wild goals. So grab your coffee, get cozy, and let's dive in. Hey, rebels.

Alex) (00:39):
Welcome back.

Bree) (00:40):
Today we are going to dive into something juicy, which is what it really means to be the face of your business. So if you're getting really real with yourself, your aesthetic, your presence and your glow aren't all fluff. It is your brand legacy and it's something that can help magnetize the right people too. You. Because I don't know if you've ever been scrolling on TikTok or on Instagram and you see somebody and you're like, man, I really like their vibe. I love their style. I want to see what they're about.

(01:08):
That is what we're talking about here. And on top of that, I want to make sure that you feel so proud of the way that you're showing up and that you're ready to represent your brand and feel confident and excited to show up on camera. So whether you're posting your first reel, walking into a meeting, pitching your dream client, or just showing up on a zoom call, your appearance sends a message. It's a vibe. And that vibe speaks louder than words.

(01:35):
Which is why I'm beyond thrilled for today's conversation with my friend, Alex Amick. She's a modern day medicine woman and the founder of Vibe Nutraceuticals, which is a wellness brand blending ancient plant wisdom with high impact results. Alex is known as the Herban Dictionary to those who love her. And she spends time empowering other women to reclaim their glow from the inside out using herbal formulas.

(01:59):
Alex also served on the advisory panel for a global aesthetics company. But her true mission is to help others rise to their highest levels through rituals, formulations and fierce self worth. Whether she's creating healing products or teaching nervous system regulation, Alex is redefining what it means to lead as a heart LED CEO. Ready? Let's glow. I just want to get right into it with You. So you've walked through a lot of things in life. You've been through mold, you've been through cancer, you've been through corporate burnout.

(02:29):
So what is the turning point that made you decide to choose yourself and take the road less traveled?

Alex) (02:34):
Yeah, well, first of all, thank you so much for having me. And yeah, my story is definitely. I feel like my whole life has been like a social media hook. Like, there's so many different things that have come across my desk. And I think the turning point for me was definitely after, you know, having the C word three times and then mold, which I think was honestly a way worse experience, and hard breakups and stuff. Once you get through those, you realize no one's really coming to save you.

(03:04):
And that's when I was like, okay, no one's coming to save me. I need to save myself. And it's so much more rewarding when you do that. But that also was what helped me start my business. Because one of the things that helped me get out of, you know, those darker times is a supplement stack that would eventually become my first formula. And I just remember coming out of herb school and knowing what I needed to take to feel better. And I just started like taking a bunch of them.

(03:37):
And I remember my friends and family being like, you, you really are starting to, you know, blossom again. And like the lights coming back into your eyes. What are you doing? And so I told them about this formula and that's, that's pretty much how it got started. Friends and family started asking about it, so I started giving it to them. And then I was like, I've just got to launch this thing into a full on business. And it's funny because I never really set out to be a business owner, but, you know, the world and the universe always has a plan.

(04:06):
And so that's just kind of how it organically started for me. And once you find something that changes your life, then you just have to share it with others.

Bree) (04:13):
Okay. Isn't that so funny the way that works? Like, you don't plan to be a business owner, but somehow you're here being a business owner and probably loving it from what I've seen of you. I'm the exact same same way. Like, didn't want to own my own business. It seemed too big and scary.

Alex) (04:29):
Yes, it's extremely intimidating, especially to call yourself a CEO and like, be the person that someone comes to whether there's something good going on or whether there's a problem. Knock on wood. We've never had Any issues so far with, I mean, besides like silly little admin things, taxes and whatnot. But I mean, it's really been quite the journey and now I get to do it full time. I left corporate America a few months ago, so I've been doing full time entrepreneurship and so far it's been really fun. Honestly, I love working for myself.

Bree) (05:00):
You talked about a few of the things that you've been through. And I actually saw this reel. It was a while ago now, but it talked about how people who front load their trauma are meant to work through it and then help other people work through their own afterwards. So that's why they like maybe why you had. You said cancer three times, girl.

Alex) (05:20):
Yes, I had it starting when I was 22 years old and I just blindly followed my doctor's advice and got surgery that I absolutely did not need. And then it happened a few years later. And I always told myself if it happened, if it ever happened again, I was not going to do that. Even before I became an herbalist, I was like, I'm not doing anything that they tell me like that was so unnecessary. And especially it was cervical cancer. And I'm sure, you know, women's health, like they handle things so poorly. Like there was no numbing, there was horrible post procedural care, like no follow up, nothing.

(05:59):
Whenever I went in a third time and they diagnosed me with it, I just knew I was never going to get that surgery. And by that time I had gone to herb school and I knew exactly the protocol that I would take. And I did work with the naturopath. I went ahead and self prescribed my own regimen. But I also checked with the naturopath that said specializes in cervical cancer and she was like, love everything that you're on. In fact, here's a pill that has all this stuff, like pretty much all of the ingredients that I was taking separately in one pill.

(06:29):
And so she really helped me out that way. And she was like, I mean it just takes time. You need to wait a couple months and then go get another checkup and just see what happens. But it was so cool to see that I could avoid all of the western medicine prognosis and pricking and prodding and horrible procedures that were gonna be involved. And not to mention the medications and stuff that they were wanting to prescribe. One of my doctors, because I got a second opinion, recommended I get a total hysterectomy. I was 32 years old that would have rendered me never being able to have kids. So I'm just so glad That I was like armored with the knowledge to not have to seek out those options. And I did my own thing. So it was the most rewarding thing ever to go in and get the all clear from my doctor. And I could tell she was like, happy for me, but also like a little pissed off that I didn't listen to her because, you know, it's a C word. It's pretty serious. But it was nice to be able to celebrate that and like, really feel validated as an herbalist and just as a human being navigating this myself.

(07:32):
So it's a really cool experience. But I'm glad I. I think I saw that same reel where like, you experience all the hardship on the front end of your life. So that way you can spend rest of it educating others and advocating for them and making sure that they don't have to go through the same pain that you did. And it's an honor. I mean, I wouldn't say I would like to do all that over again, but being able to shift all that pain into power and using that wisdom to help others, like, nothing makes me feel better. I think we've talked about my chart before. My Aquarius north node and Virgo Mid Heaven is just like, I must help people.

(08:08):
And it feels so good to be able to do that.

Bree) (08:10):
Huh? Yeah. Yep. And we're both Aquarius north nodes, which I know we talked about that. And then I'm a Virgo sun, so like, we have some weird similarities in our charts. So then you not only got this inner and outer glow from your herb supplement, but you also cured your own cancer. Did I hear that right? I just feel like we need to like circle back to that because that is insane. And something that, I mean, that's.

(08:37):
That could be life changing for so many women if they knew. Obviously. I believe there's a time and a place to like go into the doctor's office, but also a time and a place to try to heal yourself and take things under your own wing. And I've had some experiences where the doctor's office doesn't quite understand or care or listen to your concerns.

Alex) (08:58):
Yeah, I mean, there's always. I came from before I was an herbalist. I worked in western medicine for over a decade. And it's such a nuanced answer. And I'm so grateful to have both. I think there's always room for both. Let's say you had breast cancer and they can see where the tumor is. Like, of course you would go and get surgery to have that taken. Out. Whereas this one, I, I had already had the surgery twice and so my cervix was so shortened. We'll just get right into my anatomical issues.

(09:35):
But if they did the surgery one more time, I would not be able to carry a child full term. Like, not even. I remember after the second one, they were like, you're gonna have to get a button stitch and you're not going to be able to carry the child all the way to nine months. You'll probably be on bed rest for your last trimester. And I was like, great. And then after I got it the third time, they were like, you might as well just get a hysterectomy. And I was like, I'm not doing that. I don't know if I want to have kids, but I definitely don't want that taken away from me. So that was, that was a certain circumstance where I didn't want to go through the western medicine protocol and I really had no other choice. There's another story that comes to mind.

(10:13):
Dr. Paul Stametz, I don't know if you've heard his story. He's one of the most world renowned mycologists. He studies mushrooms and his mother had a really serious form of breast cancer. But because of her age, she was not a candidate for surgery. And I don't think she was a candidate for chemo. Chemo as well. There was, she had a, a very particular circumstance where she really needed to rely on other protocols besides western medicine. And he put her on turkey tail along with some other things. Yeah.

(10:49):
And the tumor shrank in size and she's been in remission. And so that's a really life changing story. There's also, I mean, for as many stories there are of that, there's also stories where, you know, for 10 years of my life, because I had the surgery, I didn't have cervical cancer come back. So like it's very nuanced world and it's going to be on a case by case basis. But it's just nice to know that if you are completely out of choices, like I was, or like Paul Stamet's mother was, there's other options and they actually work.

(11:24):
So that's, that's very empowering.

Bree) (11:27):
Yeah, for sure. To let people who feel like they don't have other options know that yes, there are things that they can do, fingers crossed, that hopefully will work. And yeah, that's an amazing little piece of insight for people to have who do feel like they don't have anywhere else to turn yeah. So your brand really blends aesthetics and wellness. How do you see showing up fully in your brand, both on the energetic and the health level, like being able to show up as your best self and also showing up as the face of your brand in the way that you want to present yourself as a path to a more powerful, well rounded and like magnetic brand.

Alex) (12:11):
Yeah. I think authenticity goes a long way and is the most important aspect. Of course you want to make sure, I mean, when someone clicks on your website or your Instagram profile or wherever on social media your tick tock, they want to see that it's cohesive. But I also think people can pick up on energy a lot faster too. For example, if I knowing I have a Virgo midheaven, you would think that my Instagram profile would be like very aesthetically pleasing and it kind of is, but it's also like kind of jumbled right now. I need to go in and organize it, but I think people get from every single reel of mine, like I'm putting my energy into it. I even will like say a prayer or set an intention before I go and film something because I want that energy infused into it. Because I think above all else, like you could have a not so great profile, but as long as the authenticity and the good energy is there, emulating out of you, then I think it's okay. That being said, I do. When you click on someone's profile, you're like, you kind of want it to be at least a little bit cohesive, you know, no matter who you are.

(13:20):
So I go back and forth on that a lot. But it's funny, I actually just did a series called Baddie Bootcamp. I was so excited to do it and I was thinking about the timing of doing it before Hot Girl Summer starts. And so I was like pushing to do it at a certain time without taking into account where I would be at in my cycle. I don't know if you've ever tried to push yourself to film every day during your luteal phase, but I cannot recommend it less. I was struggling every day to do it and I felt so self conscious, like uploading these reels every day, but looking back on them now, I'm like, even though I was showing up and you know, being kind of tired on camera, I was still infusing my energy into it and people actually really loved it because it was more authentic. I wasn't like, you know, completely quaffed and. And I was envisioning myself doing Baddie Boot camp with like some Little black glasses on and looking like a baddie. But instead, most of them. I was literally rolling out of bed, and I was like, oh, my God. Like, I cannot wake up early this week. Like, I'm so deep in that luteal hole just before your period. Like, I don't want to do anything.

(14:32):
Why did I make myself show up on camera every day? But it's just funny because even though I didn't love the aesthetic of the reel or whatever, people could still feel that energy. And I kept getting so many messages and comments that were like, oh, my God, this is my favorite series ever. I love that you're doing this. This boot camp is so fun. And I was just like, good, I'm glad you guys are having fun. And even though I'm a perfectionist, I can still be pro of this work because I know at least a handful of people said, like, oh, my gosh, this is groundbreaking. I love this.

(15:02):
So that felt really rewarding. So, I mean, as long, I guess, long story short, as long as you are authentic and you are bringing in your essence, like, people are going to pick up on that and they're going to enjoy it no matter how you look.

Bree) (15:13):
I was one of the ones who messaged you or commented multiple times and was like, I love this. It was so entertaining to watch. And I feel like you infused this, like, this level of your personality. And I think you do this really well in a lot of reels. Like, you infuse this, like, kind of goofy, sarcastic side to your personality, but you just say, like, the most. The most. I don't know what it is, like, the word for it. My husband does this, too.

(15:44):
He says the most, like, brilliant things, but they just, like, come off of the top of his head and they're, like, funny things. Yeah. That is not a skill that I feel like I have. Like, I don't think that I'm inherently a funny person, but it's, like, funny and clever at the same time. And it just seems for you, it was the trauma.

Alex) (16:05):
Thank you. I was the oldest of five, so I was like, okay, I need to entertain the family. That was. That was my role as the eldest. I was like, I am going to mother, and I'm also going to entertain. And so I've had a lot of practice.

Bree) (16:23):
Yeah. Yeah, definitely. If there's a woman out there who's, like, afraid to show up on camera because she has something about her appearance that she doesn't like, let's actually go two different routes. So one woman has something about her appearance, she doesn't like she can change it. So she's just in a very comfy, frumpy era because she's not feeling like herself lately. And then there's another woman who doesn't want to show up on camera because she has something about herself that she cannot change or doesn't want to. So like her nose is big and she's really self conscious of it. What would you say to each of them?

Alex) (16:59):
Oh, I love this question. I mean the, the first one, I didn't love how I was showing up for Baddie Boot Camp. I mean it's called Baddie Boot Camp. And like the first day of it I showed up, I looked like Miss Trunchable. Like I had on like a gray sweatshirt and had literally just rolled out of bed. But I told everyone the day before that I was going to start, I was going to drop their first Baddie Boot camp challenge at 9am and like 8:55 I accidentally slept in late. And the very reason I was doing Baddie Boot Camp is to like challenge myself to wake up earlier to show up for myself and to have more self love.

(17:36):
So if it's something that they can change like that. I didn't love that I was showing up on camera for something titled Baddie, but I was looking like frumpalicious. I know. Like I just went to New York and I was about to upload some stuff. It was rainy and it was cold there the entire time. And I was about to upload a bunch of stories that were like me continuing to look like a little frumpy because it was cold and rainy and gross. And I was like, no, I am now at a different part of my cycle. I'm follicular.

(18:11):
I'm wanting to feel a little mysterious, a little hot, a little batty. And so instead of uploading stuff that's like funny in my typical whatever, I was like, no, we're going for dark and mysterious and sexy. And so I showed up in a different way and more people have liked my story. I kept it like really concise. Didn't really give all the details I normally would. Didn't show myself. Like there was some funny clips that I may show later on down the road. But like my sister and I like being in our matching sweatsuits and like rain and like frizzy hair and everything. And I was like, no, that's.

(18:47):
I was embarrassed to show up that way a few weeks ago. So I'm not gonna show up like that now. I'm gonna, I'M gonna lean into that baddie energy. So there's something that you can change. Like, I love a rebrand, and women, we get a rebrand pretty much every part of our cycle. Like, I know as soon as my cycle was over, I was like, oh, I'm me again. A new bombshell has entered the villa. Like, it just felt really good.

(19:12):
And so I fully embodied that. So I think if it's something that you can change, just change it. Nobody's on social media anyway, so they're not going to get like that. Too granular about you going from being, like, one way to another. Just do it. No one's going to say anything. They might even like it. Everyone loves a little rebrand, a little refresh. Now if it's something that you can't change. Like, growing up, I was really self conscious of my belly button. It's, like, not fully an innie. There's like a little. There's a little. It's not an outie, but there's like a little in between, and I would be so embarrassed of it. And I remember being at pool parties growing up and I would, like, cross my arms in front of my stomach so no one could see my slightly weird belly button in the 90s. But then my arm hair was so dark and I had such pale skin that, like, that was embarrassing, too. So I was like, oh, I hate my werewolf arms and I hate my belly button, and it's just, like, not good.

(20:09):
So for me, I started shaving my arms at, like, 11, but then the belly button wasn't going anywhere. And I just remember having to be, like, radically okay with the fact that mine was a little different. And I remember seeing. This is so random, but I remember seeing a Victoria's Secret model that had a belly button that was very similar to mine. And I was like, this girl is a model, and not just any kind of model. Like, she's doing, like, swimsuits and lingerie and just, like, fully owning that her belly, but her belly button was actually a little more Audi than mine was.

(20:45):
And so I was like, I really love that. So I think if you're self conscious about your nose or your eyes or some sort of feature on you that you just don't love. I hope that you find someone that has, like, a similar feature to you that you can look up to and be like, hey, like, they've never gotten plastic surgery before and they're owning it and they're fully happy. And then someday, like, I truly don't. It's been probably 20 years. But I truly don't even think about me having a different belly button ever.

(21:17):
Like, I just post pictures of myself. I never even think about it anymore. So my hope would be for any woman listening that has some sort of. You know, I don't even want to call it a flaw or something, because God gave you that for some reason. Like, the universe gave you this unique feature that I think you should learn to own. And eventually you'll become more than okay with it. You'll probably find that you love that unique feature about you because it sets you apart from someone else. Especially in this day and age where everyone is getting chin filler and having the same cheekbones and their eyes and their lips. Like, everyone is starting to look like a carbon copy of each other.

(21:57):
So I think if there's something that sets you apart, that's actually a really beautiful thing to have. And that's one of the trends that I'm seeing kind of coming back into aesthetics, is if you have something that truly sets you apart, part, your injector, if they're a good injector, will not touch it. You know, they'll let you have that defining feature. And I think that is really beautiful.

Bree) (22:17):
Yeah, I like that. I didn't know that that was something that injectors were doing, but I think that there is beauty in that. And I've been seeing a lot of women lately who are speaking out about how they have something that they used to want to change, and they. They were planning to get surgery on it, but they didn't, and now they love it.

Alex) (22:34):
Yes. Yeah. I just saw one recently, and it was a girl talking about her nose. And she turned to the side and she showed her nose. Her nose is gorgeous. But then she showed a picture of her mom and her dad, and it was like a perfect marriage of both of their noses. I actually. I have. I forgot I even had this, too. I have two teeth. They're called peg laterals. So the teeth beside your front teeth are, like, half the size. They're like baby teeth. So I had to get veneers put on them at an early age.

(23:07):
And I just remember them wanting to do, like, a full set of veneers. Of course, like, any dentist wants you to get, like, six or eight veneers. So they all match. They're all pretty. You never have to whiten your teeth again. But I just couldn't do it because I was like, my teeth remind me of my mom and dad. Like, I don't want to get them replaced if you Want to get veneers, like, that's on you. Of course, you.

(23:29):
I'm sure they'll look amazing, and I'm sure they would have looked amazing on me too, but I just couldn't go through with that choice because I was like, no, it would give me the perfect smile and I'm sure it would look really good for like being on camera and stuff. But at the same time, I don't want to erase something that, you know, they say that hundreds of people had to fall in love in order to create you. So to think of all those generations before me where like my mom and dad and their mom and dad, like all those people fell in love with those features. And so those beautiful features, like I product of all of those. And you're the product of all of your parents and the generations before them. So I just.

(24:07):
For me personally, and I respect anyone's opinion what they want to do for themselves. But for me personally, I just don't want to change anything about me besides having to get the veneers. I think you have to get them replaced like every 20 years. But I'll have them done the exact same way.

Bree) (24:23):
Yeah. - (Alex)
Okay. I love that. That was such a beautiful way to say, well, like about your family lineage and how they all had to fall in love each other and the features that people had and that's what made you. So I feel like that's really eye openening and something that like, romanticizes even the things that you may perceive as flaws of your own, which aren't truly flaws, they're just what makes you unique.

(24:47):
So I feel like there is something to be said about when you are just choosing to be in that frumpy era. Because I went through years, so I work from home and I just, just fully went hard into from zone because I was like, if I get ready, nobody's seeing me. I'm hermiting by myself. And it takes time to get ready. So then I can't be as productive when I should be. Working was like my thought process behind it.

(25:16):
And then just recently I was like, you know what? I really value aesthetics. Like, I love aesthetic things. I love, like style. And I used to bring a lot of that into my outfits and whatnot. And I haven't bought new clothes for like years at this point. Not like I have recently, but going into this, I hadn't bought new clothes pretty much for years and just was like fully in comfort era and it wasn't pretty because when I'm comfortable, I'm like homeless comfortable, not like cute comfortable.

(25:48):
So I recently started trying to at least get ready most days because I've been having coaching calls and I've been having podcast calls, and for those, I do have to get ready. And I'm like, you know what? It actually feels so much better for me personally to put out content lately when I feel more confident in the way that I look. And that way that I look is the, the face of my brand. And I do feel like I want to have this brand aesthetic that I feel like is a true reflection of who I am, not just my frump self. And then every once in a while, I get a frumpy day.

(26:23):
How do you feel when you show up ready as the face of the brand that you want to see online versus when you, like the day you said you just rolled out of bed? Does that have a different energy to it for you? And how do you feel it's interpreted on the other side?

Alex) (26:37):
Yeah, absolutely. Like you said, like, I think we're probably both a little bit workaholics with our Aquarius and Virgo placements. And I also have a stellium in Capricorn. So, like, I have a Capricorn stellium, dude.

Bree) (26:48):
Right? You do.

Alex) (26:50):
We. Yeah. So we're like, we're like kind of work, Alex. Like no one can us. And it is, it is funny because when you think about, well, I'm getting ready for nothing because I'm not seeing clients today and I'm just working from home, but there is this sort of level of devotion that goes into, you know, brushing your hair or, or your teeth. Some days I wouldn't even brush my teeth because I was like, it's a waste of time.

(27:17):
But it's just funny because I think of the days that I go bare faced and I'm wearing kind of like a frumpy outfit and what have are certain days that you just need to lock in and like, that's your day. But there's something to be said for getting to, you know, do your hair a certain way and try out a new eye look or even just putting on, like your regular daily makeup. There's just something about it that for me feels so good. And it really does change my energy because it makes me feel more confident. It makes me feel more put together.

(27:50):
And I just feel like when you're walking down the street or even like coming across someone's social media and you see someone that's like really well dressed, dressed, or, you know, they have a full hair and makeup, Day, like, it just trans translates to they take care of themselves really well. They love themselves a lot. And so I try to. Even though I also work from home and there's, like, no point to dressing up most days, I do try to make a point to get ready, because that act of adorning myself with hair, makeup, even a cute little outfit or something.

(28:26):
I love dopamine dressing. I don't know if you've heard of that, but I think it's really cute. You just, like, put on a bright outfit or, like, a certain color or something that just, like, brings you joy. And in doing so, it makes me feel like I am giving myself more love, and that helps me radiate more love and confidence and good energy out to my audience as well. So if I'm gonna film a reel and if I'm gonna do Baddie Boot Camp part two, I'm gonna make sure that I show up in the ways that I really want to show up for my audience to help inspire them to take really good care of themselves, too.

Bree) (29:03):
I've even noticed myself even in the days where I am more frumpy since I started getting ready more. I had this, like, picture of myself, okay, so I'm 34. I'm. I'll be 35 in August. I had this picture of myself as, like, oh, my God, I'm getting so frumpy with old age. And now that I've ready, I'm like, oh, you know what? I still look pretty good for being 34. And, like, my confidence has definitely gone up just seeing myself take better care of myself more regularly.

(29:34):
And also, my husband loved me no matter what, but I feel like he likes me, like, a little more now. He's coming home and, like, trying to give me hugs. And I just. I noticed a little bit more affection. And, like, he didn't even know he wanted me to get ready more, but he definitely did somewhere in there.

Alex) (29:50):
Well, you know what's really sweet? I love that, by the way. But you know what's really sweet is, like, something we can do not just for ourselves, but for the people around us, especially our partners, is when you pour that love into yourselves, especially as a feminine being. Men see that men love us because of how much we love ourselves. Like, women get to be a little bit selfish, and men love that because we fill our own cup. Men fill their cup by being around other men.

(30:16):
So when they see us pouring that devotion into ourselves, that makes them want to do that even more for us. So it's just really sweet. That that's being reflected back to you, and I love that. Of course, he loved you both ways, but I love that he. He doesn't care. No matter what, but especially when you put in a little more effort. He's just like, yeah, that's my girl.

Bree) (30:38):
Yeah, for sure. And he will. He'll say all the time. If I'm like, oh, do I put on makeup for this? He'll be like, no, let's just go. Because he hates waiting for me to put on makeup. But he, like, genuinely doesn't care. But it is nice to see that there's maybe some. Whether he realizes it or not, some positive affirmation on that side, I guess. Okay.

Alex) (30:57):
Yeah. And then when y' all are out in public and he's like, yeah, this is my woman, he probably feels like he has to compete a little more with other men. Now that you're all dolled up.

Bree) (31:06):
Yeah. Okay. So then the aesthetic industry right now is kind of like the wild, wild west best. And a lot of it is influencers saying, you should do this or you should do this, but it's not actually super regulated in all areas. So which trends are you full on board for right now? And which trends are a hard pass for you?

Alex) (31:28):
Yeah. So previously to working for myself, I worked in the aesthetics industry for five years, and. And was a consumer of it for decades. And it's interesting to see kind of the ebb and flow of all the trends in aesthetics. But I think one that is definitely going out is getting chin implants or, you know, big plastic surgery that's very noticeable. And like I said before, like, kind of making women look like carbon copies of, like, the Kardashians. Like, if you look at all their faces, they almost all look the same. You know, they look amazing, but, like, they're. They don't have those. Those same defining features that they had before that, like, kind of set them apart.

(32:14):
And a lot of women are kind of looking like this. Like, we all have the same chin. We all are starting to get more cheekbones. So I think there's a lot of injectors that are actually dissolving a lot of their previous filler. Women are looking for a much more natural approach to things, so we're probably going to see a lot more PRP and prf. That's where they just take. Take a sample of your blood. They spin it. It separates the platelets from the whole blood.

(32:41):
Platelets are kind of like a bag of growth factors. And since it's from your own body, that's the most natural, the safest thing to be re injected back into the body. So I'm going to be actually getting my own done today under my eyes. So a lot of people will want to get under eye FILLER and like 90% of patients are actually not good candidates for under eye filler. They'd be better candidates for PRP or prf. So I'm going to be filming a reel of that and I'm sure that's probably going to ruffle some feathers because I was going to go into the differences between the two, but I think we're leaning more towards much more natural aesthetics and even taking internals, which I think we all know if you want to get rid of cellulite or if you're looking to lose weight or have bouncier, more supple skin, that's an inside job. Like the call's coming from inside the house. There's not much you can do on the outside that's really going to take hold. Of course, you know, some good skin care will go a long way, but I think really prioritizing supplements and whatnot is going to be really good. And I would say for anybody listening, pearl is my absolute number one favorite beauty supplement.

(33:57):
It's not only going to help with your collagen production, stronger hair, skin and nails. It's been used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese medicine. Even Cleopatra used pearl. But the cool thing about pearl is it's actually one of the strongest shin tonics. And your shen in traditional Chinese medicine is your spirit. It's like your life force, energy. And pearl acts as a shin tonic by giving you this radiance from within. So if you think about like Julia Roberts or Reese Witherspoon, like those type of women that just whether they have makeup on or not, they just are radiant from inside out. They have that kind of glow and this almost kind of like aura about them that's really beautiful.

(34:40):
That means they have really strong shin. So if you want to take something that's going to give you inner and outer glow, pearl is hands down my favorite one. But I say that with caution because 99% of pearl powder comes from Republic of China, where they can sell you a bucket of chalk and label it as pearl and legally sell that to you. I know that because I have a beauty powder that has pearl in it and I almost didn't launch it because the sourcing was so frustrating. It took me almost two years to find a good quality pearl powder source.

(35:17):
So you want to make sure that it's definitely third party tested. It comes from seawater, is actually a lot cleaner than freshwater Pearl. And for the love of God, make sure that it didn't come from the Republic of China.

Bree) (35:31):
Okay, so do you have this.

Alex) (35:32):
It's chalk.

Bree) (35:34):
Do you have this pearl powder in your own brand then or you get it for your own personal use?

Alex) (35:40):
Both, honestly. So I have it as it's in our second product that we came out with, Vibe Beauty. So that's a blend of some really good quality, high dose, most plant based vitamin C. Vitamin C is like the building block for collagen. So you got to make sure that you're taking vitamin C and it's also great for your immune system as well. But Pearl is in that formula as well. It's a really high quality one. And you can also use Pearl if you, I mean you don't have to buy it from my company. I'd be happy to give your listeners an affiliate code if you'd like.

(36:11):
But the Pearl powder also does really well topically as well. So you can put it in your face soap if you wanted to to wash your face at night. You could even do a mask with it. I love taking our beauty powder actually and mixing it with castor oil and I make a mask out of that that has worked so well. Especially if you have like pigment or deeper lines and wrinkles. You, you will see a difference, especially with the castor oil. Castor oil helps drive things deeper into the skin.

(36:42):
So by doing a really high dose vitamin C and pearl on top of your skin. It's so good. I used to sell like 15 different lasers when I worked in aesthetics. And honestly some of the topicals you'll see, especially the, my own beauty formula works so well. It, it really does get rid of I hyperpigment all the time. Whether it's from acne, scarring or just being out in the sun. I'm a freckly girl and that really helps to give me a nice smooth texture. And of course we're, I'm already 35, so I'm like, I'm not just battling aging, I am at war with aging.

(37:19):
So it's like a constant battle. And I really do the, the days that I remember to do that for like a week after my skin will look so nice. So definitely keep it, keep it moisturized and keep doing those. I would say like a weekly treatment of like something with vitamin C. And definitely don't skip out on Pearl. She's the og.

Bree) (37:39):
So I have two things that are going to be a necessity from you right now. The first. First, I think all of my listeners are like, girl, drop the affiliate code. Drop the link, because now everybody wants that girl. So, yeah, give us the info first.

Alex) (37:54):
Absolutely. So if you go to vibenutraceuticals.com that is where we have the beauty powder. We also have Vibe up, which is for focus, and then Sugar Mama, which is another supplement we came out earlier this year. I never would have intended to come out with a weight loss supplement, but I was taking the stack for blood sugar regulation after being exposed to mold, and you can be totally, like, not overweight or anything and still have insulin resistance. So I was taking this stack and I noticed that I started losing weight like crazy, and it was making my skin look really good, and I was sleeping really well. So I was like, I'm just gonna keep taking this, and it tastes like sugar, but it lowers your blood sugar and helps with weight management.

(38:38):
So, of course, everyone was asking me about that, and I was like, like, fine, I'll release this formula too. And it's called Sugar Mama, which is fun because it tastes like sugar, but it helps with weight management. So, yeah, you can get all of those on our site, and then we can just do code like rebel 10.

Bree) (38:54):
Yeah, perfect. I'll link it in the show notes for everyone, too.

Alex) (38:58):
Awesome.

Bree) (38:59):
And then the second thing you were talking about, the. The beauty mask that you do. So that made me think. And you mentioned acne scarring, but I already had this written down. I was already going to ask. I have pitted acne scars. Do you know anything that helps with that? Know those are a little bit more difficult than just, like, standard acne scars. So. Yes, but I need your answer.

Alex) (39:20):
Yeah, so actually, in my 20s, I did Accutane because my acne was so bad. It makes me so sad that I went to that degree because it. It made my pitted acne scars even worse. I think a lot of people, like, turn to Accutane and are like, this is going to fix all my problems. And it did get rid of the acne for a couple years, but then eventually came back because it didn't fix the root cause, but I was left with those deep, pitted, like, rolling ice pick scars.

(39:49):
So I know what you mean. And the crazy thing is, when I first started working in medical aesthetics, I was selling a lot of different lasers. I had a CO2 laser, IPL, RF microneedling, like, power tools, essentially, for your face. And I left that company and went to a company that was more about, like, regenerative aesthetic aesthetics medicine. And so they had microneedling, like just traditional microneedling, prp. And then I sold some skin care as well. And they all. I actually, at one point, that's a story for another day, I'm sure. But at one point, they asked me to be on their advisory panel for this global aesthetics company. So that was really cool.

(40:29):
And after all of that experience, and especially as a patient looking for a solution to pitted acne scars, traditional microneedling think was the thing that got rid of it for me. I was not used to people complimenting me on my skin. But after I did six treatments, especially combining it with prp, if you can do microneedling with prp, that is going to be the best bang for your buck. Not just for pitted acne scars, but general anti aging, because it's going to help with fine lines and wrinkles. It increases your Collagen production by 400 with just one treatment.

(41:06):
So even if you can only afford to get, like two or three, you're still going to see pretty results. But microneedling is hands down the best bang for your buck, above any laser I've ever used or sold. I actually just tried a laser a few months ago, and it burned my nose. I know it left like a. A mark on my nose. And it's one. I don't want to say the name because I don't want to disparage this company, but it was just interesting because it's like the most popular laser on the market right now. And I was like, fine, I'll give it a try.

(41:38):
And it wasn't the esthetician's fault at all. She's actually. Well, no, I think she's a nurse. But when she did my nose, it left, like, almost like a pigmentation, which is something I suffer with already. And the very thing to get rid of the pigmentation would be to go back and get that laser, but I don't trust it. So I will be micro needling that to get rid of the pigment as well, and that should help break it up really well. And every now and again, I'll still get, you know, some hormonal acne. And when that pops up, I will actually go over that with microneedling.

(42:12):
And it just works. It works so well for pretty much anything you're dealing with on your face. Microneedling is probably the answer.

Bree) (42:19):
Yeah, I need to do some micro needling consistently because I've done it and I always, when I make the appointment, I have the intention to, like, go back after Whatever time frame you're supposed to do for acne scarring, because I know when you have the pitted ones, it's the most beneficial to do it back to back, to keep going regularly for a period of time. And I've done one and then gone back like a year later.

Alex) (42:43):
Yeah.

Bree) (42:44):
So I've done it maybe like four times total. But they've all been really spread out, so I just need to jump back on the bandwagon and do them regularly because I was actually debating, do I try a laser? Because yes, I've seen improvement, but I still have them. So we'll work on that.

Alex) (43:01):
And if you do a package of three to six, typically they'll give you a price break for getting a bundle of them at a time. And not only is that going to be more cost efficient for your wallet, but it also, like you said, getting them every four to six weeks is really going to help. It's almost like compounded interest. Like the more that you get done in that shorter time period, the better your results are going to be. And then after that you could maybe get like one treat, one to two treatments a year.

(43:31):
Especially for me, I, I don't get Botox and I'm probably not gonna get Botox box. I just, I don't, I don't really love it. I feel like it made me look weird and I, I'm a very expressive person, so it's just not my thing. So if you are looking to be like fully crunchy, not doing any sort of injectables, like micro needling is the way. And I, I don't know if anyone needs to hear this, but most med spas and derms, plastic surgeons that are offering microneedling should have cherry payments. I'm not sponsored by them in any way, but a lot of times they will have zero dollar financing. So you can pay it off within a certain amount of months for 0% down and 0% financing.

(44:20):
I have to tell the girlies about this because I was a finance major. I never used that, but you know, it can be of use sometimes times, especially for buying these expensive aesthetic treatments.

Bree) (44:31):
Yeah, okay. That's really good information and really good advice. So then if anybody is listening and they want to follow along with you or they want to maybe pick your mind on some herbs or check out your product. Well, you already said where they can find your products, so we'll make sure to link that in the show notes. Do you do, if somebody wants a like custom herb supplement? Do you do any, any type of like Coaching with that realm or just the things on your site?

Alex) (45:02):
Yeah, so I actually. Well, funny enough, even though I'm an herbalist, as a patient who has gone through so many different things, like herbs are an amazing tool and. And as someone that owns a supplement company, of course I want you to use supplements as a tool, but don't let your tool become your cage. Because if you're. For example, like, I was couch ridden at one point, I had to use vibe up in order to like, get on about my day and like, be motivated to get up and. And do stuff, you know.

(45:33):
But as. As someone who's walked the walk, I could not recommend more like working with someone one on one on more so like the energetics and stuff too. So. So I don't really offer the one on one herbal consults anymore, but I have been thinking about opening up my books for one on one intuitive sessions. So the intuitive sessions are like, if there are any herbs that come up and we can also do some energy healing. I'm a Reiki practitioner.

(46:05):
That's another thing that I'm working on is. Is being okay with coming out. I mean, I was in western medicine for a very long time, so going in and leaning into this, like, very witchy part of my business is kind of scary because there's a lot of people that follow me from my past and so they don't know that I'm into the Akashic records and, you know, giving intuitive sessions and stuff. But I would definitely be open to working with someone one on one for that. And there's always something valuable that will come out of those, whether it's, you know, an herbal recommendation or we can just do some energy healing, or I can tap into the akashic records to help someone access their highest self and whatever they might need. But that's kind of what I do for one on work. One on one work now and then if they wanted to get just like a general idea of what my first couple of sessions would be. I actually came out with Batty Academy last year, which is a course that I offer. It's an evergreen course. It's available anytime.

(47:05):
And that kind of takes you through the beginnings of the energetics of kind of going from, I don't want to say like, couch to glow up, but it's definitely like sometimes, you know, we're in our frump era and we're like, I need to do something. So if you're in that position or you just want a little tune up before Hot Girl Summer, like that is definitely a good course because it's going to take you through not just the energetics, but it's also going to give you some herbal examples of like things that can help you. Pearl is definitely mentioned in the course. So if you want to do Semester one of Batty Academy the that is available as well. And then my Instagram handle is Herban H E R B A N Dictionary and I'm on Tik tok as well.

(47:50):
So you can get some free advice there or you can go to Batty Academy or if you just want to order the supplements outright, I mean pretty much everything in Baddie Academy the it's funny because as I was writing it and I was coming up with, you know, different things that could be the most bang for your buck when it comes to picking out different herbs. Herbs. Almost all of the herbs are in the supplements that I created.

(48:13):
So if you want to do one or the other, just, you know, pick a la carte which you would like to do to work with me. But yeah, I, I'd be happy to give a discount for the Baddie Academy as well because that one is. It's really nice because it's self paced. So if you really are like in a time where you're just like I need to get my together and I want to feel good about myself and infuse some self love and you know, go from my frumpalicious to fergalicious times and that is going to be the thing that can help you. And of course I'm available for one on one help as well.

Bree) (48:49):
Yeah, that would be awesome. Why don't listeners, if you want to get into Baddie Academy and you want to snag that discount, why don't you message Alex on Instagram and tell her that you heard her on the Rebel CEO podcast and that you want in. Does that sound good?

Alex) (49:03):
Love it.

Bree) (49:04):
Awesome. And then yeah. I just also want everybody to know that Alex has quickly become one of my favorite people to follow on Instagram. So definitely follow her and you won't regret it. Also, she did a an Akashic Records intuitive reading for me and it was amazing. So all of the above, go do everything she just mentioned. So thank you for being on the call with me and thank you for sharing all of your wisdom and advice with listeners too.

Alex) (49:32):
Thank you so much for having me. I appreciate it.
