On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by ole' friend and recurring guest Joe Yerdon for a conversation focused primarily on the Buffalo Sabres but also plenty of Bandits and Bills talk as well.
It's been a hot minute since Joe's last been on the show, November 22 of last year to be exact so the guys spend some time catching up. Patrick hit up one of Joe's favorite bars in downtown Buffalo this past weekend while Joe's put some miles on his car driving to Toronto and Rochester to cover playoff hockey, seeing of course the Sabres yet again missed the postseason. Speaking of, Patrick asks Joe if this season was frustrating as a journalist because while the people covering teams have no horse in the race, it certainly makes for a more hostile and frustrating environment when the team you deal with on a daily basis consistently loses the Sabres have---for the past 14 years.
Joe talks about Sabres star forward Tage Thompson shining for the United States at the World's in Sweden. He also talks about squashing rumors that Buffalo defensemen Bo Byram has requested a trade from the Sabres, and also shares what he thinks the Sabres vision may be for this offseason.
They also spend some time talking about the Bills getting set to appear on HBO's Hard Knocks this summer and the Buffalo Bandits winning a championship for the third consecutive year. That and plenty more.
