Earlier this year, my friend Matt Himes (managing editor of The Blaze’s Align) lost his home in the California fires, but he didn’t lose his sense of humor or his willingness to try a lot of things he’s bad at.
It was great catching up with Matt on life after the fire, what it’s like to live out a George Carlin bit, “String Theory,” and going into the unknown of rebuilding.
I hope you enjoy our conversation, but I know you’ll enjoy Matt’s article that ran in The New York Post: “This liberal is seeing red after decades of California misrule meant my house burned down.” As a writer, I'm jealous I didn't write the piece. As a human, I'm so fortunate I didn't have to live through what inspired Matt to write it.
