Garber was raised in Ohio and was a Reds fan from birth and later became an encyclopedia of baseball knowledge. Nate Dotson learned to be a Reds fan at the feet of his older brother, Chad Dotson, who began following the Reds while growing up on the outskirts of Reds Country alongside his parents and grandparents, who were fans of the Big Red Machine. One common denominator for fans of a certain age seems to be the remnants of the glory years of the 1970s, despite not being old enough to have witnessed the greatest era of the franchise.
