The Soul Mammas Podcast: Real motherhood talk on passionate, mindful living as parents

In a world where so many women have shed past notions of what being a mom looks like, who can listeners turn to for real talk on soulful motherhood? Through this weekly podcast, host, Nicole De Leon, a long-time surfer, teacher, yoga instructor, adventurer and now new mother, seeks to candidly talk about the realities of modern motherhood, especially as it affects the pursuit of one’s own interests while remaining a soulful parent. Nicole’s hope is that through this podcast mothers will be encouraged to believe in their dreams and prioritize joyful lives in order to teach their children to do the same. ... Show More

“You have to be green enough to be healthy and chill enough to be happy.” That is the motto of today’s guest and mama of three, Leah Segedie. We try to keep our kids safe in the best ways we can and sometimes detoxifying our homes can feel overwhelming. Leah is here to tell us that it is totally possible as busy moms to "go green" in our homes and stay sane at the same time.  In her book and today, she shares about the three major things to avoid in our homes: Food packaging, pesticides and fire retardants. This passionate mama is also the author of Green Enough: Eat Better, Live Cleaner, Be Happier (All Without Driving Your Family Crazy!). She is also the founder of the Mamavation® community (which she’ll be sharing about today), a social media consultant and food activist! She was also named“Mom of the Year” by Shape Magazine being named the 4th most Influential Mom Blogger by Cision Media.   Today she shares:   What to get rid of NOW in our homes and what we can chill out about  Why our lowest lows can lead to our highest peaks.  Why we should stand up for what we believe in  How to let go of control and be empowered at the same time.      Next IN PERSON Soul Mamma meeting May 26th at 3pm in downtown Santa Barbara.
