Speaker 1 (00:03):
Tuxyo. This is the seventy seven WABC Mini Cast.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Now we have Peter Schweitzer, who is with the Government
Accountability Institute, also big best selling author of The Invisible Coup,
and we thought of you today, Peter, because this big
announcement from the Attorney General about birthright tourism. This was amazing.
It's like thousands of different examples and it's Chinese, and

(00:32):
they brought people over. They literally people were paying tens
of thousands of dollars. They set up, they had wedding photographers,
they had like, you know, the whole to do making
it look like it was a big wedding. The person
then got married came over. Eventually all of these things.
Then also the fake marriages came into play, as I'm
talking about. Then they got green cards, and even this

(00:54):
is how bad it was. The day they got the
green cards, most of them would get divorced. It's like
this whole big scheme of you know, birthright kids and
also fake marriages, and the Attorney General blew the.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Whistles marriages, fake fake birth So we went through that
for many, many times with all the tourist births that
were happening with the Chinese and how did we get
how do we get it? How do we get ourselves
in this mess?

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Well, you know, we live in a world where being
an American citizen is a great privilege and honor. You know,
most of the world wants it. You know, as a
Justice Alito said during the Supreme Court case on birth tourism,
you know, you've got billions of people who want American
citizenship and they're going to figure out ways to do it.
And that's all kinds of scams. And this marriage scam

(01:43):
is a great example of it. There was a case
just a few years ago in Philadelphia. Think about this
for a second where part of the way in which
you can get resident status in the United States is
if you are a victim of a crime. And the
scam was they were hiring people to quote unquote attack

(02:05):
migrants who were in on the scam so they could
claim that they were victims of crime. Some of them
said they had been raped, some of them that they
had been brutally beaten. They put that on their visa applications.
God approved, and investigators later found out that it was
all made up. That the people that were quote unquote
the victims were paying a guy who was hiring people

(02:28):
to pretend attack them so they could file police reports.
So it's really, I think something that President Trump deserves
a lot of credit for. This has been a problem
for a while, the fake marriages, the birth tourism stuff,
and this is the first American president who said, we're
not going to tolerate this. We are going to arrest people.

(02:49):
It's visa fraud. You bring your pregnant girlfriend or mom
into the country, claim you're coming as a taurus, that's
visa fraud. We are going to charge you and the
people operating these schemes with criminal crimes. And it's the
first president to do so, and people are actually going
to jail. It's really really an important development.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Yeah, it's a biggie. By the way, you also blew
the lid on all these fraud investigations. Big money, I
mean California one point three billion, Medicaid, Pennsylvania, huge one,
US Virgin Islands, Wisconsin. The list goes on and on.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Yeah, and here's the other thing that's kind of shocking.
You know, think about this for a second. The state
of California, which literally has millions upon millions of people
that are you know, on public assistance in one form
or another. Do you know how many people they have
to actually investigate that fraud In the state of California,

(03:45):
thirty four. They have thirty four people investigating millions of
people that are on public assistance. And the estimates, by
the way, from the professionals is they believe twenty percent
of public assistants is fraudulent in one form or another.
There's the states, especially democratic states in New York's the

(04:05):
same way. They're really not interested in policing this. They
actually have more people employed in marketing them publicity for
these assistance programs than they do actually trying to undermine
these criminal networks that are ripping us off. So again,
I think with the federal government's taking the lead here,

(04:26):
it's certainly not California. By the way, this is a
problem in red states too. The state of Alabama has
seven people that investigate this stuff, seven people across the
entire state. It's a problem because politicians of both stripes
see it as we get this federal money that comes
into the state. Okay, maybe it's fraudulent, maybe it's not

(04:48):
quite accurate, but it's money coming into my state, and
that's going to be good for the economy because there's
going to be more money to spend, and that's a
mindset that has to change.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Rudy Washington real quick.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
I know, Peter, that's one of the things about the
Supreme Court. I expected the left wing of the Court
to vote the way they did on tourism. That what
we're talking about. But for Justice Roberts. You know, any
credible attorney knows what the fourteenth Amendment was about. And
I was just so disappointed. And now that this has

(05:20):
been going off for decades, because that's how long it's
been going on. You now have kids over eighteen that
could register the vote. So anytime China wants, they could
drop and the people don't physically have to be here.
They could drop anybody into any congressional district, registered them
to vote in turn an election, and next thing we know,

(05:41):
we have communists within the Congress.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Rudy, you nailed it. And in fact, there are states
in the United States where to quote unquote establish residency
to vote, you don't even have to step foot in
the state. If you're a US citizen and you say,
for example, I set up residency the state of Arizona.
Here's my po box. Here's my passport. That's good enough.

(06:07):
You are now registered to vote in the state of Arizona.
So this is a huge problem. And what we have
to do is put our mindset around the fact that
there are people around the world that don't like us,
they don't like our way of governments. They're hostile to us,
and they're going to come up with creative ways to
undermine us. Not just you know, try to bomb us.

(06:29):
Not they don't want to have a military war, they
know they're going to lose that, but they're going to
think about ways to undermine us. And this is a
real problem. The problem of birth tourism, the problem of surrogates.
You've got Chinese elites that are hiring women in the
United States to carry their children as a surrogate. There's
one Chinese billionaire that has more than one hundred and

(06:53):
thirty children. Wow, that are surrogates that are all US citizens.
They're all these raised. This is reported in the Wall
Street Journal in February, and there are other people doing
the same thing. They are doing this not just to
get the citizenship and the benefit of it, but to
exploit it for their benefit. And we need to wake

(07:13):
up and I don't see how anybody to your point, Rudy.
We can debate whether you know somebody that sneaks across
the border, lives here for twenty years, has a couple
of kids. They're playing by the rules. We can debate
and have a good debate about those children and US citizens.
But who wants to defend the practice that a mother
flies in, gives birth to a child, leaves as soon

(07:35):
as the child is able to do so, and the
child never lives here exactly are a US citizen?

Speaker 2 (07:41):
It is such hogwash. Absolutely well, Peter Schweitzer, a great
investigative journalist, President of the Government Accountability Institute. Always great stuff.
You always have some mind blowing stuff. Thank you very much, Peter.
We love havingue you guys
