This is the Rita Cosby Show with word that Caroline
Levint the White House Press Secretary, the amazing White House
Press Secretary.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
I love Caroline. I've known her for years.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
She is fantastic, and she is leaving her role as
I think one of the best White House Press secretaries
in American history and the youngest one ever in American history.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
She's only twenty eight years old now has two young kids.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
She just had another baby recently in May, and she's
leaving to take care of her family. She said, I
just haven't been able to do everything I want to
do with my family and do this role. And she
has two very little children as we know, and really
wants to still stay active, putting out a statement saying
I'm still going to be a key advisor. My fight

(01:10):
is not over. By the way, she ran for Congress
in New Hampshire. She's been on my shows many times.
I love Caroline. She is so fantastic and when I
was at the White House last year, I saw her
right away. We got to spend some great time together,
gave her a big hug, We got to.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Have a great conversation.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
She I think has been one of the most effective
White House Press secretaries ever, and I've seen a lot
of them. I've asked a lot of questions to White
House press secretaries over the year, is when I've been
in that White House briefing room and on trips and
a whole bunch of other things. Yet she has been crisp.
She's been great, and also she's been very feisty because

there's been a lot of negative media going after President Trump.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
It's not an easy job, you guys, and you have
to be.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Able to add her questions on who knows what topics
the media is going to ask you. She did a
very good job of like answering the question and throwing
it back at them if she thought it was quote
fake news, but also if she didn't know the answer,
she would say, you know, and I don't know, I'll
try to get the answer for you. She seemed very cooperative,
very professional, but also a no nonsense White House Press secretary,

(02:23):
and that is a great balance.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
And not all of them.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
There have been some pretty lousy ones through the years
Corin John Pierre. I mean, I thought she was terrible,
but I also thought she had a terrible president that
she had to deal with. Can you imagine she barely
ever saw Joe Biden, whereas Caroline was constantly in the
Oval Office. When I was in the Oval Office with
the President last year, she was right there talking to him.

(02:47):
He was giving her information. There was no like you know, third, fourth,
fifth tier or wall in between her and President Trump.
They clearly had a very good relationship of very openness.
And I even told President Trump that I thought she
was the best White House Press secretary that I've seen,
because she was superb and at that point she was
just sort of starting in that official role. She'd of

(03:10):
course had been the twenty twenty four spokesperson, but she
clearly had command of the topics, had spunk, had zest,
did it with personality was tireless, and you gotta be
tireless if you're working with President Trump, who was twenty
for seven.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
So bravo to her. It's a big loss.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
I think it'll be interesting to see who's going to
take her shoes, because that is a very tough role.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
As I mentioned, Karinn John Pierre very.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Lackluster, but had a very lackluster president who she barely
ever got a chance to talk to her see. And
then you had circle Backsak who I actually thought she
was pretty good. I mean, she was spirited and feisty.
With the lack of material she had to deal with,
she wasn't too bad when you look at it. And

(03:59):
then you go through the year's Ari Fleischer, who I've
had here on the show.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
I love Ari. Ari.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
I thought it a superb job. I even remember Mike McCurry.
I remember when he was there with Clinton. I remember
a lot of them through the years. It's a tough job.
It's an unrelenting job. Sarah Huckebye Sanders. The list goes
on and on. There's some good ones and there's some
not so good ones. Sarah was I thought also really

(04:26):
really great as well. So what do you think is
going to happen now that Caroline Levitt is leaving? Will
there be like a permanent one? Will they maybe rotate?
Remember in the last couple of months since she's been gone,
they've had these rotating ones like suddenly jd Vance takes
the questions, Suddenly Mark or Rubio does it at another briefing.
They might kind of go back to that again, who knows,

maybe not have a quote main Press secretary per se.
It'll be very interesting to see because it seems like
this was something that kind of took everybody by left field,
So we'll see where there it goes. But she is
terrific and tonight, you know, the president who doesn't always
give the best goodbyes to people, especially if they're leaving
in bad stead, putting out words that she is wonderful.

She's one of his most trusted aides. She will still
definitely be engaged and be one of his senior advisors.
She will always have that access to the president and
advise him. So I think it's just the beginning of
a great career for Caroline Levitt after she spends some
wonderful time with her family, and bravo for her from

(05:33):
making a very important and a great choice too as well,
putting family first.
