wild weather day. Tears we're flowing along the pasaic this
weekend who left one hundred turtles on the side of
the road. In New Jersey, a mugging in the Bronx
was big in so many ways, and the new parking
rules at a local mall have shoppers seeing red.

intense out there.

Gonna see a day of pop up thunderstorm, some heavy rain.
Some locations could pick up three to five inches of

people gathering along the Passaic River in New Jersey yesterday
to remember those two ten year old children who drowned
last week. More than one hundred mourners coming out yesterday
afternoon to drop pink and blue rose petals into the river.
Many of them did not know the two victims, but
they felt the crush of that tragedy. The mother of

ten year old Mikey Clank Junior was at the vigil.
She did not want to speak out her eleven year
old daughter, Hope, who survived because her younger brother Mikey
pushed her to safety last Wednesday when they fell into
the river before.

He got swept away. She was there.

Mikey's body was found that night. It took three days
more until they found the body of the ten year
old girl who was with them, Million Doula, who was
eventually spotted about a half mile down the river, her grandmother.

She spoke at this funeral yesterday, couldn't be or I
should say this memorial the shore, but family is here.

a woman was found dead inside an apartment in Burrough
Park over the weekend. Cops responding to calls for a
woman in distress. This was sixty fourth Street between sixteenth
and seventeenth Avenues. Once inside, police found a forty year

old woman unconscious unresponsive in the basement apartment. She was
pronounced dead at the scene. Medical examiner now working to
determine exactly how she died.

shooting at the in and out location that has resulted

Governor Brad Little asking residents to keep the Twin Falls
community in their prayer.

against Iran in hopes that a peace deal can be
reached soon. He made this announcements opposed to truth Social
where he wrote, quote, we have just been asked by
Iran and other Middle Eastern countries to hold off any attack,
and that the perimeters of a deal have been agreed to.

Now, the President says the pause and fighting is contingent
upon Iran and the US reaching a deal quickly. Meanwhile,

Middle East to be prepared for unforeseen escalation.

make sure watch out because anything could happen. The Iran
war has been also playing on the President's approval numbers,
which are down in the thirties. Larry Sabato, he's the
director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia,
says the president can turn the numbers around before the midterms.

Well now, just within two and a half days, three
outstanding surveys showed him at thirty two percent job approval,
thirty three percent job approval, and thirty four percent job approval.
That is terrible, and if he falls into the twenties,
it's going to be much worse, not just for him

public's help and identifying three men wanted in connection with
a really violent home invasion in the High Bridge section

her up, they blindfolded her, they bound her hands with

and there's a drone above my kid's head, I would
be confident that they can just spot a shark, and

very good farm system, so when you see the package
that they dealt to the Tigers, the Dodgers, that is,
you know, their seventh best prospect is probably as good
as you know, for example, the Yankees second or third
best prospect. So you know, when you're looking at other

teams that were in this sweep stakes, I mean you know,
for me, I'm looking at the Tampa Bay Rays and
why the heck they didn't put forth a package like
this for the Dodgers because they have almost just as
good of a farm system as LA and they could
have mustered together a group of guys that could have
brought Schooble to Tampa Bay. And that's a first place
ball club in the American League. And the American League,

as almost everybody knows, this season is much much, much
worse than the National League in terms of, you know,
being able to find a path to at the Fall Classic.

the veteran actor best known for playing Tony Soprano's best
friend turned FBI in foreman on HBO's The Sopranos. Pastor
died at eighty years old at his City Island home
on Saturday. Tributes pouring in from friends and community members

who remembered his local ties to parts of the Bronx.
He had grown up in the Bronx. Well, no, I
guess he was born and spent his first years in
the Bronx and then moved up to White Planes, but
he was back there all the time because he had
a house there, and he was known at a lot
of the pastry shops and the Italian delis, which is

my kind of guy, and so they knew him well.
In fact, the owner of Gene, his pastry shop in
the Bronx and Bronx little Italy section. He's grieving the
loss of Pastor.

He never forgot his roots, never did, and he never
forgot his friends.

Over the weekend the skip the stuff a law took
effect and you might be saying, well, what's that all about. Well,
if you order in food now you have to specifically
ask the either the app or the restaurant that you're
calling for food delivering food to include plastic utensils, napkins, straws,

and condiments. If you don't, they won't include them, which
to me sounds incredibly annoying. Some customers like me say, well,
you know, I don't remember to do that, but now
you got it.

I think it's do it. If you're ordering something that
needs a utensil, they should automatically give it to you.
Why do you have to ask for it now?

It was lawmakers who push for this new rule. They
think it'll reduce plastic and other waste that contributes to
pollution and flooding, and that it could save some businesses money,
which no doubt it will. In fact, the owner of
Why He's a Pizza in Ridgefield Park says he expects
the new law will bring some benefits for him.

Oh for sure, I think it's going to help out
a lot.

But the gold containers is very expensive right now, like
the containers for the pasta.

Or the sal and even though the brown bags are
very expensive to right now, because the price is so

So we're just trying to cut down a little bit
as much as we can.

Now, he makes a good point that people ordering delivery
to home don't need extra packets or uten So I
think there's a good argument there. But if you know
you're at work or whatever, you don't have to remember
to ask them to include the utensils. But now you do,
or these utensils and condiments won't come with your food.

That seems fine to me. That's not a big it's
not a big task. Oea very simple So I don't

Businesses that violate the first the law first face a warning,
then a one hundred dollar fine before it climbs to
two hundred and fifty dollars. While we're in New Jersey,
just a strange mystery. More than one hundred box turtles
that are not native to the Garden State turned up
along a Cranford road at the end of last week,

Neighbors scrambling to rescue them. Investigators are examining whether they
were dumped there as part of some sort of illegal
wildlife trade. The unusual site was first reported along a
stretch near the Raretin River, and you had kids out
over the weekend who were searching for these turtles because
they were just dumped there and now they're all over
(34:42):
the place looking for them to save them or help
them get near a source of water.

I found them in the bushes over there, like those
Jerka and their other ones.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
There are other ones walking like across here.

I think it's just sad because I don't really know
if they're really supposed.

You know, you have people who just love turtles, and
so they heard about this. These two sisters, they showed
up along the raretant over the weekend too to see
if they could collect the turtles and bring them back home.

My sister and I just have a like a love
for nature, so we just really wanted to come out
and see if we could rescue any So we just
found them kind of hidden behind the guardrail down a
little bit further down the river. It seems like these
three were stuck behind the guardrail, and I think that's
why we likely found them there.

So far, no sign of who dumped them There's the
kids were out all week in, you know, playing with
the turtles, helping them.
Speaker 7 (35:33):
Me and her we both love turtles and it's like
just so sad to see them like endangered.

And like not in their home.

Yeah all right, again no clue of who put them there,
and we'll end with a story. In New Jersey as well,
a new parking option is turning into a shopping debate
at the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne. The parking spots that
are closest to the mall entrances now cost you money.

You got to pay for them.
Speaker 4 (35:59):
Parking in the spots will cost shoppers two dollars forty
five cents for the first hour two hours per any
hour after that, and some shoppers, well, some shoppers are
okay with that because it gets them closer to the mall.

We're both lazy and we're both hungry.

How much did you pat core forty five for two hours?

According to the signs posted in the parking lot, ten
percent of Willowbrook malls and net prow seats from each
preferred paid parking payment will be notated to a local charity.
But others say, come on, you know it should be
first come, first served. They shouldn't charge people for a
parking spot, especially when you're going into a mall to
spend money.

That's why parking for the economy.

You want people to pay ex shyts that it's ridiculous.

If I should have to pay to park in I'm
going to use all the services in this mall, and
they want me to pay more to park there. It's

put the quarter in the cart.

All right, so there were people who are willing to pay.
Some shoppers say maybe they should just make it seasonal,
like charge people for the those premium spots at Christmas

wild weather day. Tears we're flowing along the pasaic this
weekend who left one hundred turtles on the side of
the road. In New Jersey, a mugging in the Bronx
was big in so many ways, and the new parking
rules at a local mall have shoppers seeing red.

start with the weather. It's going to be kind of
intense out there.

Gonna see a day of pop up thunderstorm, some heavy rain.
Some locations could pick up three to five inches of
rain today, which is a lot, which means they'll be
flash flooding in some places. Now it depends on where
these storms park themselves over the course of the day,
but just know that all day long you could be
facing some sort of thunderstorm, some heavy downpour. So for sure,

if you're walking out, grab that umbrella. Floodwatch has been
issued for New York City. A flushed watch has been
issued for much of New Jersey as well.

Intense stuff may not come in this afternoon. That really
depends on where you are, maybe in the upper Westchester
and Northern Hudson Valley. Here in the city, it'll start
this morning. In fact, it's raining right now those intense

that storm as the day wears on. Five o five

people gathering along the Passaic River in New Jersey yesterday
to remember those two ten year old children who drowned
last week. More than one hundred mourners coming out yesterday
afternoon to drop pink and blue rose petals into the river.
Many of them did not know the two victims, but
they felt the crush of that tragedy. The mother of
(02:45):
ten year old Mikey Clank Junior was at the vigil.
She did not want to speak out her eleven year
old daughter, Hope, who survived because her younger brother Mikey
pushed her to safety last Wednesday when they fell into
the river before.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
He got swept away. She was there.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
Mikey's body was found that night. It took three days
more until they found the body of the ten year
old girl who was with them, Million Doula, who was
eventually spotted about a half mile down the river, her grandmother.

She spoke at this funeral yesterday, couldn't be or I
should say this memorial the shore, but family is here.
Speaker 5 (03:26):
I can't really say too much right.

Many who did not know the children at all came
just because they felt the loss. They wanted to weep
with the family, show the family that they're not.

Alone with the mother right now. Are just devastated because
nobody should ever bury their child, especially so young.

Yeah, we're waiting to hear about funeral plans for the
two of them. Five oh six, let's go out to
Brooklyn were detectives working to figure out what happened to
a woman was found dead inside an apartment in Burrough
Park over the weekend. Cops responding to calls for a
woman in distress. This was sixty fourth Street between sixteenth
and seventeenth Avenues. Once inside, police found a forty year

old woman unconscious unresponsive in the basement apartment. She was
pronounced dead at the scene. Medical examiner now working to
determine exactly how she died.

As neighbors spoke.

Out, he's a very young lady, and you know, it's
it's sad here that someone passed away.

So investigators have yet to say whether foul play was
involved or if this was officially ruled a homicide. They
have not released the woman's identity, but neighbors said they
did hear commotion out of that apartment once in a while.

No, but sometimes they are very loud at night.

But even nine o'clock, ten o'cloud, they have music on
and yet a lot of people.

Yeah, the investigation ongoing. WABC News Time five oh Non
squad to Idaho. Deadly mass shooting at a newly opened
in and out burger there and twin falls over the weekend.

Three deads, seven others injured.

It's a very chaotic scene. What I can tell you
at this time is this is that we've had a
shooting at the in and out location that has resulted
in fatalities. I don't have the exact number confirmed. We're
still trying to make a notification of the next of ken.

I mean that was police at the scene, the Idaho
Governor Brad Little asking residents to keep the Twin Falls
community in their prayer.
Speaker 8 (05:48):
Marshaling resources from across the state and literally from across
the nation. State Partners, federal Partners, along with the FBI
and the ages.

So the gunman was identified as twenty four year old
Chad Williams. Now he died from a self influence did
gunshot wound right near the scene of this shooting. Police
confirming he acted alone, but his motive, well, that's unclear.
This morning, President Trump said Iran is going to be decimated.

That's what he said over the weekend.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
Right he was at Camp David and he made an
announcement that he was going to wipe out infrastructure. And
then he went online and said the same thing.

Because they do lie and they do misrepresent.

The other day, the five missiles were shot. We knocked
him down, but we were in the.

Midst of a negotiations, so everybody was on hold for
some big attack in Iran.

The President canceling that pending attack against Tehran. Over the weekend,
he says parameters were reached in a deal to end
the war. News Nations Tom Dempsey has the latest details.
Speaker 9 (06:48):
President Trump made this announcement overnight, saying that he has
ordered the US military to halt all strikes and attacks
against Iran in hopes that a peace deal can be
reached soon. He made this announcements opposed to truth Social
where he wrote, quote, we have just been asked by
Iran and other Middle Eastern countries to hold off any attack,
and that the perimeters of a deal have been agreed to.

This would include the immediate, complete and total opening of
the horror moves straight and an end to Iran's nuclear thread.

Now, the President says the pause and fighting is contingent
upon Iran and the US reaching a deal quickly. Meanwhile,
US embassies in the Middle East were told to remain
vigilant all weekend ahead of what they thought would be
some strikes, and they say they're still being told to
be careful. Jigudi Dave has more on.

That the United States is telling American citizens in the
Middle East to be prepared for unforeseen escalation.

Now, none of that happened, but they're told just to
make sure watch out because anything could happen. The Iran
war has been also playing on the President's approval numbers,
which are down in the thirties. Larry Sabato, he's the
director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia,
says the president can turn the numbers around before the midterms.

Well now, just within two and a half days, three
outstanding surveys showed him at thirty two percent job approval,
thirty three percent job approval, and thirty four percent job approval.
That is terrible, and if he falls into the twenties,
it's going to be much worse, not just for him
but for his party. And of course we're only a

few months away from the election now.

Sabato normally says that that spells trouble for whoever's in
the White House, but he says there's still time to
turn it all around.
Speaker 6 (08:34):
If he could end that war or cut it back
very substantially so that it's not in the news constantly
and we're not having more deaths of American soldiers or
more to the point, injury, serious brain injuries, which we
have had. If he can push gas prices down to
(08:55):
even vaguely close to the two dollars and ninety eight
cents a gallon that gas prices were at on the
day the war started. Then I think he could turn
it around.

And the president, no doubt, we'll talk about immigration. On
the campaign trail ahead of the midterms, he was pointing
to that migrant surge in Spain as a warning about
the future of unless immigration policy.

Situation in Spain could happen in the US if Democrats
regained power come the midterms.

You know, I saw saying yesterday and I watched the

ball club in the American League. And the American League,

the veteran actor best known for playing Tony Soprano's best
friend turned FBI in foreman on HBO's The Sopranos. Pastor
died at eighty years old at his City Island home
on Saturday. Tributes pouring in from friends and community members

who remembered his local ties to parts of the Bronx.
He had grown up in the Bronx. Well, no, I
guess he was born and spent his first years in
the Bronx and then moved up to White Planes, but
he was back there all the time because he had

loss of Pastor.

pollution and flooding, and that it could save some businesses money,
which no doubt it will. In fact, the owner of
Why He's a Pizza in Ridgefield Park says he expects
the new law will bring some benefits for him.
Speaker 5 (33:26):
Oh for sure, I think it's going to help out
a lot.
Speaker 18 (33:27):
But the gold containers is very expensive right now, like
the containers for the pasta.
Speaker 17 (33:31):
Or the sal and even though the brown bags are
very expensive to right now, because the price is so
expensive right now.
Speaker 5 (33:36):
So we're just trying to cut down a little bit
as much as we can.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
Now, he makes a good point that people ordering delivery
to home don't need extra packets or uten So I
think there's a good argument there. But if you know
you're at work or whatever, you don't have to remember
to ask them to include the utensils. But now you do,
or these utensils and condiments won't come with your food.
Speaker 5 (33:55):
That's fine.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
That seems fine to me. That's not a big it's
not a big task. Oea very simple So I don't
say any problem. Yeah, okay, they don't have a problem
with it.
Speaker 4 (34:02):
Businesses that violate the first the law first face a warning,
then a one hundred dollar fine before it climbs to
two hundred and fifty dollars. While we're in New Jersey,
just a strange mystery. More than one hundred box turtles
that are not native to the Garden State turned up
along a Cranford road at the end of last week,
(34:22):
Neighbors scrambling to rescue them. Investigators are examining whether they
were dumped there as part of some sort of illegal
wildlife trade. The unusual site was first reported along a
stretch near the Raretin River, and you had kids out
over the weekend who were searching for these turtles because
they were just dumped there and now they're all over
(34:42):
the place looking for them to save them or help
them get near a source of water.
Speaker 9 (34:48):
I found them in the bushes over there, like those
Jerka and their other ones.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
There are other ones walking like across here.
Speaker 6 (34:55):
I think it's just sad because I don't really know
if they're really supposed.
Speaker 3 (34:59):
To be here.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
You know, you have people who just love turtles, and
so they heard about this. These two sisters, they showed
up along the raretant over the weekend too to see
if they could collect the turtles and bring them back home.
Speaker 10 (35:10):
My sister and I just have a like a love
for nature, so we just really wanted to come out
and see if we could rescue any So we just
found them kind of hidden behind the guardrail down a
little bit further down the river. It seems like these
three were stuck behind the guardrail, and I think that's
why we likely found them there.
Speaker 4 (35:26):
So far, no sign of who dumped them There's the
kids were out all week in, you know, playing with
the turtles, helping them.
Speaker 7 (35:33):
Me and her we both love turtles and it's like
just so sad to see them like endangered.
Speaker 8 (35:40):
And like not in their home.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
Yeah all right, again no clue of who put them there,
and we'll end with a story. In New Jersey as well,
a new parking option is turning into a shopping debate
at the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne. The parking spots that
are closest to the mall entrances now cost you money.
Speaker 3 (35:58):
You got to pay for them.
Speaker 4 (35:59):
Parking in the spots will cost shoppers two dollars forty
five cents for the first hour two hours per any
hour after that, and some shoppers, well, some shoppers are
okay with that because it gets them closer to the mall.
Speaker 3 (36:11):
We're both lazy and we're both hungry.
Speaker 10 (36:14):
How much did you pat core forty five for two hours?
Speaker 6 (36:17):
Now?
Speaker 4 (36:17):
According to the signs posted in the parking lot, ten
percent of Willowbrook malls and net prow seats from each
preferred paid parking payment will be notated to a local charity.
But others say, come on, you know it should be
first come, first served. They shouldn't charge people for a
parking spot, especially when you're going into a mall to
spend money.
Speaker 5 (36:35):
That's why parking for the economy.
Speaker 3 (36:37):
You want people to pay ex shyts that it's ridiculous.
Speaker 14 (36:40):
If I should have to pay to park in I'm
going to use all the services in this mall, and
they want me to pay more to park there. It's
ridiculous to pay for a parking spot just seems very odd.
It's not like I'm getting my quarter back when I
put the quarter in the cart.
Speaker 6 (36:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (36:52):
All right, so there were people who are willing to pay.
Some shoppers say maybe they should just make it seasonal,
like charge people for the those premium spots at Christmas
time when people are carton all on a whole bunch
of backs.
Speaker 12 (37:05):
I feel like it'll probably help us out during the
holiday season, but.
Speaker 3 (37:10):
Like it should just be for the holiday season.
Speaker 12 (37:13):
As for residents, I feel like if they're gonna keep
it at least for the holiday, like lower the price
just a little bit.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
Yeah, anyway they can make a boo me.
Speaker 6 (37:21):
Now.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
It's like that whole idea of two dollars here, two
dollars there. You don't notice, but it does that up.
