Joe Daru has appeared in some of the most popular shows on TV, such as Chicago Fire, The Rookie, The Morning Show, NBC's This Is Us, S.W.A.T., and also had roles in films The Gray Man and Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
Most recently, you can catch him on Peacock's crime drama, Long Bright River, as Detective Danjarat. The Long Bright River stars Amanda Seyfried and Nicholas Pinnock, and deals with Philadelphia's opioid crisis. Joe's role strikes a calm amid the intense characters in the cast.
AW sat with Joe to talk about working with the talented cast, navigating the strong subject matter, his work with short films, playing professional baseball, transitioning into acting, the impact of global travel and living in different cities, and his best advice for anyone considering shifting careers.
