Burnout is real. Here’s how to show up with intention, protect your energy, and rest without guilt—even when life and business feel heavy.

Burnout is real—and if you’ve been feeling it lately, this episode is for you.
In today’s short and honest conversation, I’m talking about what it feels like to hit a wall after weeks of giving your all to your work, your people, your goals... and forgetting to give anything back to yourself.

I’ll share what I’ve been moving through personally, how I balance being there for my clients while also honoring my own limits, and why rest isn’t a luxury—it’s a strategy.

This episode is your permission slip to press pause, reset, and show up with more intention (and less guilt). Whether you're a high-achieving woman, creative, entrepreneur, or simply human... this message is for you.

Hey y'all, welcome back.
It's me Jama, your podcastbestie, and if I'm keeping
things real, I didn't feel likeshowing up today.
The past few weeks have beenfull six portrait sessions,

(01:03):
traveling across Texas, from allthe way down in South Texas to
all the way up in North Texas, pouring my energy into every
shot, making sure my clientsfelt beautiful, confident, seen
in all the things and I've lovedevery second of it, but I'm
tired, like hit a wall kind oftired.
This past week has been crazy, and I know I'm not alone in that

(01:25):
.
Whether you're a business owneror a high-achieving woman or
just someone trying to keep upwith life, it gets heavy.
We hold so much, we give somuch and sometimes we forget to
give back to ourselves.
Here's what I've learned and amstill learning, because I am
always a work in progress.
You can love what you do andstill need a break.
You can show up for others andstill feel unseen, and you can

(01:49):
be oh so grateful for all youhave and still be exhausted at
the same time.
None of this makes youungrateful.
It just makes you a human.
And here's the truth.
Not everyone will see the hours, the effort, the emotional
weight behind the work.
Not everyone will value whatyou bring to the truth.
Not everyone will see the hours, the effort, the emotional
weight behind the work.
Not everyone will value whatyou bring to the table, but some
will, and they're the ones youkeep showing up for.

(02:11):
I show up for the client whosays I've never seen myself like
that or I love how I look oncamera.
Thank you, I show up for theones who've never felt confident
in front of the camera untilnow.
I show up for them, but I alsoshow up for me.
So if you're in that same space, this is your reminder.
You don't have to earn your rest.
You don't need to burn out toprove you care.

(02:33):
You're allowed to pause beforeyour body forces you to, like
mine just did.
Rest doesn't mean you'vedropped the ball.
It means you're wise enough toprotect your energy.
You'll need to pick back upagain.
I know I'll get back into it,like I always do, but for today,
I'm choosing to show uphonestly, even if it's with a

(02:54):
little less energy and a lotmore heart.
Thanks for being here and forlistening to me.
Remember to rest before yourbody forces you to.
That's all I got for today.
Thanks y'all.
