Let’s talk about something we’ve all been told a million times: “You just need more balance.”

But here’s the truth… balance is a myth. And honestly? It’s keeping you stuck.

When you’re chasing “balance,” you end up stretched thin, constantly feeling guilty, and always wondering why you’re not doing enough. I’ve been there — trying to juggle a corporate career, growing my first blog MyMommyStyle, and being present for my family. It left me exhausted, burned out, and frustrated.

The shift happened when I stopped chasing balance and started designing my life with intention. Instead of trying to do everything equally, I began asking:

 Who matters most today?

Where does my energy truly belong?

What can I delegate or release?

That’s when I finally stepped into my CEO energy — creating rhythms that supported my business, my family, and myself without the constant pressure of hustle culture.

And that’s exactly what I’ll be teaching inside my brand-new program, The CEO Mindset™.

If you’ve been craving freedom, alignment, and clarity in your business (and life), you’re going to love this. The program is opening soon, and I’m giving early access to my VIP list.

Camille (00:00):
So finding balance for me was figuring out who am I
serving and who do I need aroundme to help me support in these
tasks that need to get done.
So you want to make an impact.

(00:21):
You're thinking about startinga business sharing your voice.
So you want to make an impact.
You're thinking about startinga business sharing your voice.
How do women do it that handlemotherhood, family and still
chase after those dreams?
We'll listen each week as wedive into the stories of women
who know this is Call Me CEO.
Welcome back everyone to CallMe CEO.

(00:41):
This is your host, camilleWalker, and we are back into the
swing of things.
I don't know if you have gonethrough the end of summer.
Labor Day is over and nowyou're feeling like you're more
into your routine.
I know I am.
I really look forward to thesetimes and seasons in motherhood
where we feel like you can closea chapter and then look ahead

(01:02):
with what is upcoming.
What are you excited about?
What is it that you're hopingto achieve in this next season?
And, depending on what age youare, how long you've been in
your business, what part ofmotherhood you're in, that can
look very, very different, andso today we are talking about
how the myth of balance mayactually be holding you back

(01:23):
from what balance can actuallyfeel like.
Now let's back up a little bit,because I've heard a lot of
women be asked this question.
It's a question I ask many ofmy guests.
I mean, that's what we're alllooking for.
Is that sense of balance, thatsense of peace, that sense of
wholeness but this can bemisconstrued sometimes of what

(01:46):
balance actually is.
Does it mean that you divideyour time perfectly?
Does it mean we're on thisbalance scale of family time and
work time being exactly thesame?
Is it something that is perfectevery day?
And even as I'm asking thesequestions, I think you know what
I'm going to say next, that ofcourse.
Of course, there is not thisperfect alignment of a perfect

(02:10):
equation of hours equaling hours, of a balance of this.
Is that, and that is what willgive you the inner harmony.
This is actually what can beholding you back.
Is thinking that it does haveto fit a certain paradigm of
someone else's or that it has tobe equally weighted.
Your perfect balance is moreabout finding your intention of

(02:33):
your why, aligning yourintentions and your goals and
your values into who you areserving that given day, and I
want you to think about thatthat oftentimes, instead of the
what being exactly what we thinka perfect balance might look
like, I want you to insteadimagine the who.

(02:57):
Who are you trying to serve, and does it align with your why?
There is a book by Simon Sineksaying it's called Discover your
why.
It's what's led a lot of mycoaching business, as well as
leading my own life and how Idefine my values, is really
discovering my why, and on mywebsite right now,

(03:17):
camillewalkerco, and onmymommiestylecom, I have a
program called Discover your why.
It's free, it's a five dayprogram, but it's something that
I've always really feltconfident about.
When helping mothers definewhat a balance can look like is
making sure that your time isaligned with the why.

(03:38):
So, even deeper than that, Iwant you to think about the who
as we go through differentseasons of our lives, especially
as mothers.
The who's in our lives soundslike I'm talking about a Dr
Seuss book, but I'm not.
The who's in our lives and whatstage of life they're in,
especially when we're referringto our children, can come with a

(04:00):
different set of demands and adifferent set of what balance in
our lives might look like whenI first started my business.
I was a new mom.
I had, let's see.
I started, I became a mother in2008.
I started my podcast in 2011with two very young children.

(04:20):
My daughter was not quite oneand my son was about three and a
half so I had two very youngchildren that were very
physically demanding in terms ofwhat they needed from me, as
well, as my schedule was kind ofall over the place with waking
up, what time they took, naps, where we were, what times that

(04:44):
was happening where.
Now, fast forward to 2025, myyoungest child is nine.
My oldest child is 17.
I have four children, and so mydemand on my time is a little
bit different now that I havekids in school full time.
It doesn't mean that my role asa mother is less demanding,
because we all know, as they getolder, bigger kids, bigger

(05:07):
problems.
It's not that the demand goesaway.
It's the who has changed interms of the ages that my
children are needing me and howthat looks in terms of time and
how I divvy up my energy and mytime and what I'm able to give
when I divvy up my energy and mytime and what I'm able to give
when.

(05:31):
So, instead of chasing thatelusive balance that can often
lead to guilt and frustrationand a sense of losing our minds,
I was at a time many years ago, where, when I first started my
blog, I started my mommy stylewith seven women.
I had heard that blogging wasthis new up and coming business
where you could make money, youcould work with brands, you
could write content and makemoney, which was just shocking

(05:53):
to me.
This was mind blowing, andwhere I had gone to school to be
a teacher in a traditionalsense, in a classroom, I was now
able to do this job from home,as a stay at home mom, and I
thought, gosh, this is amazing, what a cool concept that I could
take all of those concepts offamily and consumer science
which was my degree the cooking, maintaining the home, the

(06:16):
nutrition, the child development, the family finance all of that
and bring that to my websiteand teach online.
It was the perfect opportunityto take something that
traditionally, could only bedone in a nine to five, so to
speak, that I could now do fromhome.
What I didn't realize, though,is that it did become really

(06:39):
successful and more demanding ina way that I even knew or could
imagine at the time, becausewhat went from a team of seven?
I knew from the beginning, oh,I want to surround myself with a
team, how cool that we can dothis together.
And there were each of ushaving different roles, with
editing, photography, recipedevelopment, sponsorships,

(07:00):
connecting with brands, allthese different pieces of what
it meant to create content on anongoing basis, to then having
it whittled down to being onlyme, which was a huge shift in
the hats I was having to wearand the demand on me as a young
mother.
It was through that time that Ithen developed and understood

(07:20):
that I could hire on teammembers.
I could also streamline andstructure my day in a way that I
could delegate and automate andcreate systems in my business
so that I was able to keepshowing up.
Because I can promise you that, had I kept going the way that I
was going, trying to fulfillall of those roles of the women
who left and this was over yearsthis was over years of time

(07:43):
where, within six months, we hadthree that left.
Within two years, we had afourth partner that left.
Two years later it was thethird partner that left and
maybe two years later it wentdown to just me, and what I
needed to figure out was that Ineeded to have team members
around me that helped me tofulfill the content creation,

(08:04):
the backend work, the SEO, theemail marketing, now the social
media marketing.
That wasn't even a part of itwhen we started and I was able
to position myself more as a CEOin terms of creating operations
within my business.
That didn't include me doingevery single piece of that
business to keep it running.

(08:28):

tasks that actually grow yourbusiness?

trial and error.

(09:09):
You can also grab this linkbelow and schedule a free
discovery call with me to see ifit's the right fit for you.
So finding balance for me wasfiguring out who am I serving
and who do I need around me tohelp me support in these tasks
that need to get done.
And discovering that who andunderstanding the delegation of

(09:33):
those different pieces of mybusiness is what made it so I've
been able to sustain and stillhave my money generating blog as
a business and then, in turn,go to more content creation,
business coaching, creating mycourse for women to build their
own virtual assistant business.
It made it so that I becamestill the creative gen, like

(09:58):
idea generator of my business, without having to do all the
operation of my business, ifthat makes sense.
So with this I was able torestructure my alignment and my
intention with my day and truly.
That's what it breaks down tois what is your intention and
your alignment of the day withyour why and identifying the who

(10:24):
, and the who does not alwayshave to be you, and that was so
huge for me being able to bringin team members for my business,
but also identifying thingsthat my children could help me
with at home and my partner, myhusband, could help me with in
terms of carpools or preppingdinners or whatever it is that

(10:45):
that might look like, butcreating that delegation and
releasing the guilt is whatallowed me to continue and to
expand and to grow.
And that is the key to successis finding out what that pace is
for you in this season of yourlife that you're in right now

(11:07):
because it's different for allof us is not figuring out how to
juggle everything equally, butfiguring out how to juggle all
the things strategicallystrategically.
And there is a difference inthe approach to that, knowing
that not one of us can do all ofthe things.
So I want you to ask yourself aquestion right now, and that is

(11:28):
who do I want to be present fortoday, instead of how do I
balance everything?
And, of course, when we askthat question, who do I want to
be present for?
It's our family always.
It's our spouse always.
It's ourself, sometimes last, and that's been a big piece and
especially in doing this podcast, where I've learned from so

(11:49):
many women, where they will tellme that for so long in their
business, when they putthemselves last, they were in a
place of burnout.
They were in a place of losingeverything that they had built
because they simply could notsustain the amount of output
that they were giving withoutfeeding themselves first.
And these are things thatyou've heard before, but maybe

(12:11):
you don't have the exact map orbandwidth of knowing how to
create those sequential steps,of showing up for yourself, for
your family and for yourbusiness.
And that is exactly why I havecreated a new program called the
CEO Mindset this whole.

(12:32):
Last year, I did a programcalled the CEO Mastermind, which
I absolutely loved.
It was throughout the entireschool year and my one complaint
personally about it was I feltlike it was maybe a little bit
too long.
I like to go into sprints offocusing on something, but

(12:53):
whether it's a new, a goal orcreating those systems in
different parts of ourbusinesses at seven weeks at a
time.
And so what I did is, I thought, gosh, I really would love to
squash the hustle culture, especially for women and mothers
, that they have this sense ofshame or guilt for not being in

(13:16):
that balance, that perfectbalance that they're looking for
, because it's really more aboutpositioning yourself as a CEO,
to have that CEO mindset and tocreate those systems for goals
that you can reach long-term byshowing up with the daily who's
and the why's.
And so I am opening my CEOmindset program and it still has

(13:41):
early bird pricing.
So if you're hearing this, Iwant you to take advantage of
this right now, because this isthis is happening.
I'm so excited.
So the wait list is open rightnow.
I want you to be the first tobe there as the doors open and
this is a really goodintroduction to the things that
you'd be learning in the CEOmindset.

(14:01):
It's going to be a group oflike-minded women,
entrepreneurial women, who arelooking to implement where they
are in the season of life thatthey're in, but creating a CEO
mindset of how you'reapproaching your business.
If you have burnout, if youhave that nudge of I need to
create a team and systems aroundme, but I'm not quite sure how

(14:24):
we will go through it and helpyou to identify what that looks
like for you.
What is that next hire that youneed to make?
What is that next step oftaking care of yourself so that
you can keep showing up foryourself and your family?
Because I recently had a friendreach out to me who was watching
my Instagram stories and I willadmit, after years of doing

(14:46):
social media literally over adecade I'm not the best at
sharing on my feed.
I took a big step back in thesummer and truly because I
wanted to, and as I was sharingmy stories with what my business
looked like in the background, plus what my life looked like,
she said to me gosh, like youhave such a fun life, and I

(15:11):
truly, truly, with all thegratitude in my heart, was
thankful for her to even saythat, because I really, I really
do.
But I want more than anythingfor other women to feel the same
way.
Like, gosh, what a fun life.
What a fun life that I'm ableto wake up, have this amazing
business where I get to havethis fulfillment and this

(15:31):
creativity within me to grow, and that I also get to be an
active participant in a lifethat I love.
And I hope you see that in me.
I love that.
She saw that in me because ifI'm not walking the walk and
living a life that I truly love, how do I expect to do the same

(15:51):
for someone else?
And that is why I feel calledto do this and that is why I
hope you will join me.
