No, producer, DJ, artist, allthe above.
All things creative, man.
SPEAKER_00 (00:37):
Love it.
SPEAKER_02 (00:38):
I'm Morgan, also
known as Morg the God to some.
But you could just call me Morg.
Um, I'm an artist manager andoverall creative and strategist.
SPEAKER_00 (00:47):
Love it.
So, all creators here.
Um, we talk music a lot on here,so it's it's perfect to have you
on, seeing some of your sets, which honestly I'm jealous I
didn't get to come out.
Yeah, man.
Brittany was making me upset.
SPEAKER_01 (00:59):
I was about to say,
you gotta talk to Sisman.
You gotta check it, man.
SPEAKER_00 (01:02):
No, see, I'm all the
way in Miami, so we need to do
the window in Miami.
That's right.
Have you done it there yet?
Not yet.
That's on.
That's listen.
Uh so before we get all the wayinto it, can you explain real
quick, like, about your sets, what you do on YouTube, your
window, and everything.
SPEAKER_01 (01:19):
I feel like we're in
the era of like the internet DJ
right now.
It's like the time where um, youknow, you had the the Spotify's
and the Apple music and theplaylist where everybody was
consuming new music, where Ifeel like we're in this bubble
of like everybody's likelistening and consuming music
through YouTube DJs.
Um and so brands of theoperation over here, he was
(01:41):
like, bro, you need to do theseYouTube sets.
SPEAKER_00 (01:43):
Like Oh, he was
like, It's your idea.
SPEAKER_01 (01:45):
He was like, Yeah,
he was like, yo, you need to
like he was sending me videos oflike just examples of other
people doing it.
And it's funny because it's likewhen he sent it to me, there was
a lot of people doing it, but itlike even in this time, like we
started what, like a year and ahalf ago?
Like, it was like the first onewas November of 2024.
(02:06):
From then to now, it has been somany more like platforms that
have become like legit platformstoo.
Sure.
Um, but yeah, I just feel likewe in the era of like that's how
people are consuming music,right?
It's just put it on their TV,put it on their computer, put it
on their phone, on their tablet, whatever.
So yeah, it was just likestarted with that, put the first
one out in November, second onegot deleted, as quiet as it
(02:30):
kept.
Nobody know that.
unknown (02:31):
Why?
SPEAKER_01 (02:32):
Now you know that.
SPEAKER_00 (02:33):
Not technical
difficulties.
SPEAKER_01 (02:36):
This is the type of
shit that happened that nobody
fucking knows.
This is my life.
This is my life.
You know what I'm saying?
This is my life.
People think it's a fuckingview.
It's my life.
Excuse me.
Um, yeah, nah, we, you know, shout out my boy Rasheed.
He's shot like most of them.
He I started doing the windowswith him.
(02:57):
He shoots so much of my stuff.
But um, great shooter in Jerseyif you need it, Al Kwan.
Um, but we shot two.
The second one got deletedbecause he thought he gave me
the files.
Oh, and so he he like he's like,he's very organized with his
files, so he don't like keepingextra files that he don't need.
(03:17):
So he deleted it off his dropscompletely.
And I was like, yo, remember toupload that.
He's like, yeah, I got you.
He's like, wait, I didn't giveit to you.
I was like, nah.
That's completely gone.
And so it was gone.
And so, yeah.
So that was that was your introto creative.
So yeah, so we shot the firstone.
The first one was fine, it's upnow.
(03:38):
You can watch it, but the secondone got deleted, so then we
didn't shoot another one tilllike five months later in April,
and that became my most viralone.
And then you just kept goingwith it, and then from there,
yeah.
How often do you do it?
Like minimum once a month, kindof now.
Okay, but um, yeah, we trying towe're trying to ramp up for
sure.
SPEAKER_00 (03:58):
So every time you do
it, do you have a crowd with
you?
Or you ever do it solo?
SPEAKER_01 (04:02):
No, I I they're
traditionally done solo, okay,
but then we do sp special likeones where it's like with people
at dinner party, like my homieConnor Kane, he's a pro chef.
He actually is on the GordonRamsay show.
Next level chef is out rightnow.
You can watch it.
Um, little plug, a little plug.
Um, but yeah, that's my homie.
Like, we do so much contenttogether as well.
(04:23):
But we've done two, and so thatwas the one you saw with with
Brit in there.
That was the first one forFriendsgiving.
Um, that was great, and then wedid another one in New York.
Um, yeah, with a with a couplehomies, and that was dope as
well.
So, like yeah, trying to havemore with people in it for sure.
SPEAKER_00 (04:41):
But like I've been
seeing a lot of that.
Um, I'm sure you knowplayground.
Like, I think they were justdown south.
Um, I haven't been to onephysically, but I I definitely
want to because it's like you'rein a lounge or a club or
whatever, but you know, you'rethe DJ's playing the set,
everybody in the backgroundhaving a good time.
So that's my type of vibe.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (05:00):
I'm like, I'm coming
through.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, nah, for sure.
So many apartment life, youknow?
Yeah, yeah.
Um, where it's like more staged,it's not as much of an event as
far as like playgrounds.
Some of those be like feelingmore like events.
SPEAKER_00 (05:12):
Some of those are
ticketed, right?
SPEAKER_01 (05:14):
Yeah, like I know
noise complaints for sure.
They're they're like for sure, like doing ticketed events and
like you trying to get to thatpoint on event.
Absolutely, absolutely.
We wanna go as far as we couldgo.
Yeah, you might as well.
SPEAKER_00 (05:25):
Absolutely.
You got the brains behind youover here.
We're gonna make an app forsure.
Absolutely, sure.
I like it.
So, how did you get into themanagement side of it?
SPEAKER_02 (05:33):
Um, with with him or
just like in general?
SPEAKER_00 (05:35):
Uh starting in
general then both.
SPEAKER_02 (05:37):
So in general, um,
it was what like COVID?
COVID 2020.
Um, I just got like let go frommy job.
I was living in South Florida atthe time, uh, went back home to
Jersey.
And um, we got a homeboy, uh,Drock.
Shout out to Drock.
SPEAKER_04 (05:52):
Shout out to Drock.
SPEAKER_02 (05:53):
Uh we were we were
talking about um, you know, just
like stuff he had going on withmusic.
And it's just like we weretalking and he was like, bro, I
just got like so much likeadministrative stuff I have to
do.
And I was like, yo, you don'thave like a manager?
And he was like, nah, I waslike, shit, I'll do it.
Oh, like yeah, I neededsomething, you know.
Like, so we started workingtogether.
(06:14):
I ended up getting my job backcrazy enough, went back to
Florida, and like I spent all mytime working, like trying to
learn about music business.
So I was just like, yo, I'mgonna just jump off the porch
and just try to make it happen.
Um ended up moving out here inlike 2022.
Shout out to Vance and Kev.
SPEAKER_00 (06:31):
My boys definitely
like So did y'all know each
other before you moved out here?
Yeah, we went to high schooltogether.
Oh, okay, okay.
All right, so that made it easy.
SPEAKER_01 (06:37):
Like everybody has
just been mentioned, we've known
each other for like since wewere kids.
SPEAKER_00 (06:41):
I thought you came
out here and connected.
Nah, nah, nah, nah.
SPEAKER_02 (06:44):
But um, but yeah, so
moved out here, ended up getting
a job as little TJ's personalassistant first.
Oh wow.
And then from there, I went tojust a regular.
Morgue the guy.
And then we um I I met with Imet Neil Dominique who runs just
a regular day.
He was manages Bryson Taylor,Ryan Trey, a bunch of other
(07:04):
artists, and I was his personalassistant.
And then that's where like Ifeel like I really like honed in
on kind of what the musicindustry was, like learning you
know, ups and downs, twists, turns, whatever it may be.
Mind you, I'm still like on theside, like trying to work with
Drog.
He hadn't come into the foldyet.
Um he was still doing his ownthing.
And from there went back toanother company in New York.
(07:25):
And then I think I got how Imanaged another artist named
Cousin Stiz, and one day we weretalking, and he was just like,
yo, Morg, like, I think I'mgonna I'm gonna start DJing.
I was like, alright, cool.
Like, he was like, yo, so if youever like Stiz ever doing
anything, you need anything, like, holler at me.
I was like, cool, say no more.
So like maybe a a month or twogoes by, Stiz ends up dropping a
(07:47):
project, and we're doing arelease party.
So I was like, yo, God willsound now, go get it.
God will sound now.
SPEAKER_01 (07:54):
We're doing all the
plugins.
SPEAKER_02 (07:56):
So um we hired, we
had like a small budget, so but
we needed someone to cover likethe first, what was it, like
probably like the first hour anda half.
Yeah.
The first hour and a half, andthen the first hour.
The first hour.
It was just the first hour.
It was a four, mind you, this isa four-hour event.
So just the first hour.
It was like, yo, like I don'thave a budget, bro.
Like, if you just want to comedo it off the love, he was like,
Bet.
Boom, he's doing his thing, he'schilling.
(08:18):
There's another DJ who uh shallnot be named.
He uh he he ended up not showingout to the gig.
So thank you for that.
If you're looking and you'rewatching, we appreciate you.
SPEAKER_00 (08:30):
I don't know who you
are, but we appreciate you, bro.
SPEAKER_02 (08:32):
Shout out to you,
but he didn't show up.
Um and I walked up to him, I waslike, yo, like you're doing your
thing, bro.
You you're going crazy.
Uh, but the bad news is uh I'mgonna need you to keep DJing the
rest of the night.
And he was like, Word?
I was like, Yeah, I'll like I'llgive you the money that we were
gonna get, bro.
He did the full three hours, andbro, he was like, say no more,
and just locked in.
(08:53):
And like midway through the set,Stiz is like, yo, what the fuck?
He was like, Yo, more, who isthis, bro?
I was like, This is my boy Josh.
We grew up together.
He was like, bro, he's nice.
Like he said he gets it, like hejust gets it.
Mind you, this is like the firstlike outside gig he's done in
front of like any of our homies.
So fast forward maybe likeanother month or so.
(09:15):
We kind of like, it's nothingreally crazy.
My co-manager, one of my boys,Tim, who I manage S with, calls
me and he was like, yo, um,they're best friends with Carl
Anthony Towns on the Knicks.
And he was like, Yo, Kat justcalled me and said that they
need a DJ for Jordan's birthdayparty.
And he was like, Yo, you thinkJosh wanna do it?
I said, Yes.
(09:35):
Is that when you went to NewYork?
No, no, no.
This was out here.
SPEAKER_01 (09:37):
So he wasn't playing
for the Knicks at the time.
He was still in Minnesota.
He was still in Minnesota.
This is before the trade.
And um, yeah, he was in LA.
SPEAKER_02 (09:46):
So we were like, I
was like, I was like, yeah.
Didn't even talk to him.
I called him, I was like, look, bro, this is the play, you doing
this shit.
SPEAKER_00 (09:53):
You don't got a
choice.
SPEAKER_02 (09:53):
You're like, you
gotta do it, bro.
So we're like, all right, cool.
We go up there, whatever, have agood ass time, he kill it.
They were like, yo, we about todo an after party.
You want to come do the afterparty too?
Boom, did the after party.
And then the next day I calledhim in the morning, I was like,
yo, like, I think, I think youshould take this serious, bro.
I think we could do something ofit with it.
And he was just like, Bet, like, what's up?
(10:15):
I was like, yo, like, I don'tknow much about the DJ shit, but
like I'd I would love to learn,bro.
I'm quick on my feet, and likewe can we can figure it out.
And we went crazy after that.
SPEAKER_00 (10:25):
So when this
happened, how far into like the
YouTube journey were you?
This was how it started.
How'd it even start it?
SPEAKER_01 (10:31):
Oh wow, like the car
Anthony Towns gig he's
referencing is like that's likethat was my first paid gig.
That was like that was that waslike end of 2024.
Um because yeah, Stiz droppedthe album in August, and then
that the release party was inAugust, and that was like my
first time DJing in front of allof my friends at and like really
(10:53):
DJing in front of a lot ofpeople like that, but and then
September was the next month, and then that was Jordan was
birthday party at fucking uhSoho Malibu.
Soho Malibu.
And it was like that was likepractically an eight hour set.
And like that was like that led,I think that gave both of us the
confidence because it was justlike, well, you could do shit.
(11:17):
Do eight hours I could doanything, you know what I'm
saying?
Like, you know what I mean?
Like, what's a two-hour setafter eight hours?
You know what I'm saying?
So that I think that was like, because I feel like that was
probably the most nervous I everwas, because it was like one, it
was like pay gig, didn't evenknow what to charge, didn't know
like no, you know what I mean?
Like, I won't say I didn't knowwhat to play, but uh definitely
(11:39):
just was like, I need todownload more music and all of
these things.
Like my craze wasn't like reallyset up, and like so yeah, just
feeling like almostunderprepared, but just like
nah, I got this, like I could dothis.
Right.
SPEAKER_00 (11:52):
And so yeah,
question questions for you,
because you said you were like alittle nervous at first.
So do you feel like there's likea pressure to perform?
Like if you're an actor or uh astand-up comedian, do you feel
that same pressure as a DJ?
Or do you feel like people aremore like tuning into the music?
SPEAKER_01 (12:08):
Yeah, I think I
heard Chris Rock say a long time
ago.
He was like, being nervous justmean that you care.
And so I think that like if youcare, then you always a little.
I I think anybody, it doesn'tmatter how bad, I'm sure Justin
Bieber just did Coach Hall, I'msure he was a little nervous.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, and he done he done rockedhow many stages.
It's like I think if youactually care, you're gonna
(12:30):
always want to do a good job.
And so when you're doing a a abig performance or even a small
performance, you're gonna get,you know what I'm saying?
If you care, you're gonna be alittle nervous, right?
SPEAKER_00 (12:40):
No, it's crazy.
I had someone on earlier today,um, and he does some acting, so
that's why I was asking, but hesaid it's actually uh you get
more nervous with a smallercrowd opposed to the big ones.
SPEAKER_01 (12:50):
I would, I would, I
could definitely see that
smaller.
Yeah, it's more intimate, it'smore like you're more
vulnerable.
You can't hide.
SPEAKER_00 (12:58):
Right.
SPEAKER_01 (12:58):
You know what I'm
saying?
SPEAKER_00 (12:59):
So let's say, for
example, you're doing the
window.
Do you get nervous with like asmall crowd like that?
Or because it's all for sure, for sure, for sure.
Is it all your people or randompeople too?
SPEAKER_01 (13:08):
Well, when we're
shooting it, it's it's usually
our people.
It's like friends.
Um, the one we did in New York, there were a lot of strangers.
It was a lot of people I didn'tknow.
I was, it was more people Ididn't know.
I was than people that I didknow.
Whereas like the one we did atLA, it was like all it was
definitely all of the homies.
But um, yeah, I think it's allagain, like I really like not to
(13:32):
sound like that person, but I docare.
So it's like I do get a littlenervous, but like um I think
when we're shooting, it's alittle easier.
Cause like usually I kind ofknow where I'm gonna go with it.
Okay.
Um, I think it's when it's likeI know that I'm gonna like
freestyle a set, is when I get alittle nervous.
(13:52):
Cause like if I'm DJing fourpeople, I don't plan a set list.
Like, I'm just gonna play to theroom.
Gotcha.
Um, but like if I'm filming awindow, traditionally I'll have
like a playlist that like I, youknow, can can help guide me so
that it's not because it's sucha production to edit and do
that.
You make one mistake, you gottastart over.
You know what I'm saying?
So it's like I ain't nobody gottime for that.
SPEAKER_00 (14:13):
But are you saying
with the set list?
If you make a mistake, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (14:16):
It's like it when
we're recording the windows,
like if I make a mistake, likethis needs to flow throughout.
Like, if I make a mistake, wegotta start over.
So it's like, you know, I try tomitigate that by having somewhat
of a playlist, but anytime I'mDJing with if it's not just me,
then I'm not really going off aplaylist.
(14:37):
I'm a I'ma play to try to fitwhat's happening around me.
Um but anytime you see me bymyself, then yeah, that's
usually like a playlist thatlike I come with.
I still might freestyle like onyou know while I'm shooting.
Yeah, like while I'm shooting, Imight be like, uh, I don't think
that song should go next, andthen switch it out.
But like traditionally, I don'tever really go into it with like
(14:58):
a plan set list.
SPEAKER_00 (14:59):
Gotcha.
SPEAKER_01 (15:00):
If I'm DJing like at
a club or any any place where
there's people.
SPEAKER_00 (15:04):
Okay.
You can actually uh answer thistoo.
I don't you guys if you everplay outside, you come too, I'm
assuming.
Yeah.
Okay.
So do you have any likeembarrassing moments or like
crazy crowd moments?
Absolutely.
I gotta hear the craziest storyright now.
SPEAKER_02 (15:20):
I'm interested to
see what yours is gonna be.
SPEAKER_01 (15:22):
Well, because you
might have a different one.
I I'm not gonna say this is thecraziest, but I'm gonna say just
is this one.
This is just the first one thatcame to my mind.
The first one that came to mymind was definitely um we did
like a private thing for like umhis pops.
And bro, it's already sound bro, bro, bro.
(15:44):
To this day, like that that dayhaunts me.
And it was like, you know, everybody's like, he did such a
great job.
Like, people asking me forbusiness cards, and I cannot let
go of what happened.
They so in the party, they hadlike a salsa moment.
And so yeah, so like, you know, they had saucered, like teachers
(16:06):
helping everybody to dance.
Like, it was a fly party.
Like, shout out, shout out Doc,man.
That was a well-curated event.
Um, but the dancer, like theteacher, she had asked me, like,
yo, I need you to have thesesongs preloaded.
And so she was like, Yeah, likeshe was like, I just need a uh
(16:27):
saucer song, a bachata song, andlike let's just start with the
electric slot.
And I'm like, Yeah, bet.
That's easy for sure.
I got all of that.
Um we get to that moment.
It occurs to me right at thatmoment when she tells me to play
electric slot, because she waslike, everybody knows electric
slot, it's and like dancingbachata is and is like
(16:50):
effectively like the basic rootsof that is like the electric
slot.
So I'm like, Bet.
I go to play electric slot, andit hits me like wait, she said
electric slot, not cha cha slot.
And for whatever reason, whenshe asked me to play, did I have
electric slot?
I registered as cha cha slot.
(17:12):
I had never downloaded electricslot.
That was also a mistake on mypart.
Like, why don't you haveelectric slot with karate?
SPEAKER_05 (17:21):
Two completely
different dances.
SPEAKER_01 (17:23):
That's like it's not
even in the same, like the
tempo, not nothing.
Like, bro, so now I am trying todownload electric slot on the
spot.
This is this is now.
The music is off now.
The music is off.
Everybody's waiting.
Dumb quiet, dumb quiet.
(17:44):
He's like, bro, you gotta playsomething.
He like, bro, you gotta playsomething.
Now everybody there, like, yeah, what's going on?
SPEAKER_02 (17:52):
Like started, like,
I heard people whispering and
they like what the music now is.
SPEAKER_01 (17:57):
I need to hear
something.
Because mind you, like, they wasall sitting down eating, and
they just made them get up.
Oh, and so now everybody's onthe that is that it wasn't like
there was a full dance floor,and then there's a I cut.
It was like, oh, we stoppingintermission, stop eating, stop
what you're doing, come dance.
And then I ain't got the songready.
SPEAKER_00 (18:19):
So, how how long did
that take?
SPEAKER_01 (18:21):
That took longer
than it should have.
SPEAKER_02 (18:24):
At least it was
probably like two minutes.
SPEAKER_01 (18:25):
It felt like even 30
seconds, like an hour.
Okay, that's a long time.
But it was probably 60 toseconds to a minute.
You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_00 (18:34):
It was probably like
the king that goes by in
silence.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (18:38):
They were cool the
first like 15 seconds, they were
cool.
SPEAKER_01 (18:40):
Yeah, so like a
little glitch.
SPEAKER_02 (18:42):
Yeah, like it was
cool.
SPEAKER_01 (18:43):
And then it got bad.
Then it got bad.
SPEAKER_02 (18:46):
I said something
around 45.
Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (18:48):
He's like, bro, just
bro, just play Suave Mente.
They all like that.
That was the best thing thatcould have happened for the
night.
What'd you end up playing?
Suave Mente.
That's exactly what I did.
It went up.
That's exactly what I did.
We skipped, we skipped the wholestep.
They all started like wentcrazy.
Save the night.
SPEAKER_00 (19:09):
But that was the
case.
It's crazy how you can just heara beat like that, just hear
something, and it just makes itinfinitely.
It gets the people going.
SPEAKER_03 (19:16):
It gets the people
going.
Because that's silence.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (19:20):
We've all been to a
party like that where you hear
that silence, DJ transitioning,or like whatever cut off.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (19:26):
It's cute for about
five seconds.
Five seconds max.
SPEAKER_03 (19:30):
Once they start
doing the no music, bro, it's
over.
You ever got that?
SPEAKER_01 (19:34):
Fortunately, I
haven't gotten that.
I haven't.
Yeah, not yeah.
But yeah.
Like, fortunately, that hasn'thappened.
SPEAKER_02 (19:42):
So was this a Latin
party or nah, bro.
I don't I don't know, bro.
My pops.
Yeah.
Yeah, it was, it was, it was, itwas, it was.
It was Cuban vibe.
SPEAKER_00 (19:50):
Yeah, it was a Cuban
vibe.
Yeah, it was like a theme.
It was a theme.
You thought you was at thecookout.
You were playing Cha Cha Slideinstead.
SPEAKER_01 (19:56):
Yo, I don't know
where my hair was at, bro, when
she said electric slide and methinking Cha Cha Slide to this
day.
SPEAKER_02 (20:02):
To be fair, to be
fair, to be fair, we had a lot
going on that weekend.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (20:07):
I was sick.
SPEAKER_02 (20:07):
He was sick.
SPEAKER_01 (20:08):
I was battling a
cold.
SPEAKER_02 (20:10):
It was cold as hell.
SPEAKER_01 (20:11):
It was eight degrees
that day.
Wait, where was New Jersey?
Jersey.
Oh, Jersey.
It was very cold.
Brick.
And we had done a window thenight before.
SPEAKER_02 (20:19):
And y'all were
outside.
And we like.
No, no, no.
So we flew in, like, I think Imight have landed that Friday.
And then we did the wind downFriday night, then the next
event Saturday, and then we wereout Sunday.
Yeah.
And then we did a Super Bowlparty when we got back.
SPEAKER_01 (20:31):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (20:32):
On that Sunday.
SPEAKER_01 (20:32):
Yeah.
In LA.
SPEAKER_02 (20:33):
In LA.
So like it definitely was justlike, it was a lot, bro.
SPEAKER_03 (20:36):
Suave Mente saved
the day.
SPEAKER_02 (20:38):
Suave Mente.
SPEAKER_01 (20:38):
Shout out to Silver
Mente.
Man, that's hilarious.
Great song.
That's funny as hell.
That one was the first one thatcame out.
I was about to just ask you whatyou was going to say.
SPEAKER_02 (20:47):
The angel reese one.
SPEAKER_01 (20:48):
See, actually, if
you want to pick the next part.
He wanted to tell this story sobad.
He wanted this to be the truth.
I'll let you pick the next one.
SPEAKER_00 (20:56):
I want to hear this
story.
SPEAKER_01 (20:57):
I'm not going to do
that.
SPEAKER_02 (20:58):
Actually, actually,
you know the crazier, the
crazier one was.
I think a crazy, it wasn't likefunny, but like this was like a
kind of like a oh shit moment.
So we did Jack Boys 2 releaseparty with Cactus Jack.
SPEAKER_03 (21:15):
Yeah, the way he's
going down.
SPEAKER_02 (21:16):
So shout out to
Busy, shout out to Dougie and
the rest of the team.
But they asked us if he could doit.
Obviously, like that's ano-brainer, you gotta do it.
He was up there for a while too.
He DJ'd for how long?
Like four hours?
SPEAKER_01 (21:31):
That was a long
time.
SPEAKER_02 (21:32):
Yeah, that one was
probably like that.
No, it might have been four.
It was the most labor-intensiveone for sure.
Up up until that point.
So this you know, this project, the Cactus Jack fans are like
insane, like crazy.
They like die for this.
So the album's coming out andit's like around like midnight,
so it definitely like is out.
So I like walk up to him at thispoint.
(21:54):
I'm like, yo, like, bro, yougotta download this album.
And he was like, yo, like this.
And see if they can send.
I was like, I'ma try.
But like, you need to downloadthis, bro.
Like, turn it into a hotspot orwhatever it may be.
Like, you gotta do it.
So I'm not up there at thispoint.
So, like, I guess, like, busyyesterday or whatever.
(22:14):
He was like, yo, like, I'llJosh, like, yo, I'll hype the
crowd, whatever.
And he was like, no, don't worryabout it.
Like, Chase will come, like, just swap out with you, and
Chase will do it.
Like, all right, bet.
So, bro, out of nowhere, bro.
Like, I'm not, mind you, I'm notby the stage at this point.
Like, I'm probably like a littlelike on side.
I just hear like them just startgoing crazy.
(22:36):
Like the fans going crazy, and Iwalk up there, bro.
And like, I guess from what hetold me, like he came up there
and turned Travis was rightthere.
It was like, yo, like, turnwhatever you're playing, turn
this shit off.
Like, play Jack Boys 2.
And like it had just downloadedat that point.
Like, it had just downloaded.
SPEAKER_00 (22:52):
As soon as you put
it on?
SPEAKER_01 (22:54):
It was like, bro.
Thank thank God he told me totry to find a way to download
it.
Cause I would have died on thehill of, oh nah, I'm not doing
it.
They said Chase doing it.
And so because the album likejust came out.
Like it was like, it's onlybecause what?
I think it was it strikemidnight, but it was like 9 p.m.
(23:16):
in L in LA.
But it probably was a littlepast that at that time.
Yeah.
They probably got midnight.
Yeah, so then it was like wecouldn't get the file.
So then I just went, I found oneperson that had uploaded the
album for download.
So I download it.
Um just to have it.
But I didn't even put it inSerrado.
(23:37):
Cause I'm like, they're not,it's not, they're going to do a
transition, right?
Chase gonna come up, becauselike he said, I asked busy.
I'm like, yo, if you want me todie, he's like, nah, don't worry
about that.
Chase gonna do that, get thecrown rolling down.
I'm like, bet.
Bro, I'm just DJing.
I'm like, I'm just keep playingsongs.
Just keep playing the songs.
You know what I'm saying?
Not gonna do too much of likehis bigger songs, because I'm
(23:59):
like, I know they probably gonnause those songs to get the
crowd, like when they beforethey play the new album, they're
gonna get the crowd going withthe hits.
So I'm not gonna play all theI'm not gonna play all the hits.
I'm gonna just play, you know, cactus jack music.
Man.
SPEAKER_00 (24:12):
As soon as you put
it on.
SPEAKER_01 (24:14):
No, no, no, no, no.
I'm just DJing.
Oh, just DJing.
And I'm waiting for them totransition me out to be like,
yo, his D, like Travis's DJ isgonna come off stage, and then
they're gonna do a realintroduction, like, yo, here's
the new album.
But he had you just I look to myleft, Travis Scott right here,
like, turn this shit the fuckoff, play Jack Boys 2.
Mind you, nobody sent me Jack'sBoys 2.
(24:36):
So I'm like, oh, okay.
And then like as I'm trying toturn it up, mind you, I didn't
put it in Serrata, so I'm tryingto put it in Serata.
He like, I said, turn this off.
Play Jack Boys 2 right now.
Man, listen.
Mind you, I don't know a song.
I don't know what song to playfirst.
I don't know nothing.
It just came out.
I don't know what's slapping.
SPEAKER_02 (24:55):
I don't know what's
not slapping.
But credit to him, bro.
Like, he's playing like whateverhe plays.
SPEAKER_01 (25:00):
The I think it was
the first song they they had
dropped a song like a day or twobefore.
So he played.
That was like an intro.
SPEAKER_00 (25:06):
Download it in the
moment?
SPEAKER_03 (25:07):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (25:07):
Yeah, I downloaded
it on my off my hotspot because
it wasn't in there.
We in the middle of nowhere.
SPEAKER_03 (25:12):
Yeah, we in the
middle of nowhere.
SPEAKER_01 (25:14):
Middle of nowhere,
bro.
Like, we're not in LA.
We not in LA.
We are East California.
Like, we not in LA.
But um, yeah, like download itoff the hot spot, throw it in
there.
I play that song, and thenthat's when he was like, you
know, the crowd goes crazy, likehe's talking about.
And then Travis, like, um playkick out, which was like one of
(25:37):
the songs that like had leakedthat fans was going crazy to
finally hear, and like they wasdropping, and so I'm like, bet,
and he was like, yo, actually, you about to switch with Chase.
And then he's like, you knowwhat?
Nah, play kick out, and theny'all switch.
And so then I play kick out, andthat crowd goes nice.
SPEAKER_02 (25:55):
But bro, like he's
nice with it, like with the
transition?
Cause like, bro, like we didn'thear it, so like you don't
really know how to liketransition to it.
You're kind of just doing it offfeel.
And like he did it, and like wecaught it like on video.
When our homies caught it onvideo, and we caught that on
video, and like once he like didit, and it's like all you just
see is like everyone like travellooking around smiling, like
everybody going just startturning up.
(26:16):
Yeah, just went crazy.
SPEAKER_01 (26:17):
Because both of the
songs was like in similar tempo.
So once he told me, because Iplayed the intro song, and then
he was like, play kick out, andthen when I saw it, was like,
oh, this is the same tempo.
I'm gonna just lock it in sothat when I drop it, it's a
seamless drop.
Like, you know what I'm saying?
It's not really much space inbetween when I transition a
song.
SPEAKER_00 (26:35):
So when you're
playing, you're hearing the song
queued up in one ear, right?
SPEAKER_01 (26:39):
Yeah, and then I
didn't even have it, I just had
my phone.
I just listened to it, but I betI just heard it like I bet.
And I could see the wavelength,so I'm like, oh, the song starts
right on the beat.
Like, it don't got no intro.
SPEAKER_00 (26:50):
You did it
perfectly.
SPEAKER_01 (26:51):
Yeah, so I'm like,
the song ain't got no intro, it
just starts.
I'm like, okay, bet we justgonna drop it.
So I faded out of the next songand dropped it.
And then when I dropped it, itthat's where it's like that's
when the homie caught the videoof the perfect like transition
of that.
You gotta send me the Travis getturned up.
Yeah, we got to get it.
Yeah, like Travis get turned up,everybody gets turned up, and
like that's so did they keep youon?
SPEAKER_00 (27:10):
Nah, they switched
to you.
No, no, we switched, weswitched, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (27:12):
We switched, we
switched because Chase, you
know, that's his DJ, and likeChase going, you know, he knows
what to play.
Yeah, it just it just is moreseamless having them do it
together.
It was just I was supposed tojust be the opening DJ.
But like, that's the story of mylife, right?
Like that's the first story, like with Stairs.
It's like I was supposed to bethe open DJ next thing you know.
Oh man, you're just like I'mdoing the whole year.
Ended up doing eight hours aday.
(27:33):
Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_00 (27:34):
So it's like that's
that was that was what's like
the once you start to pass likean hour, two hours, like how do
you how do you kind of makebecause even like you know, if
you work a normal job, you know, you're at work for four hours,
you start to get drained.
Like, how do you maintain that?
SPEAKER_01 (27:49):
Um, like like not
getting bored or something?
SPEAKER_00 (27:52):
Uh not getting
bored, uh keeping up with the
crowd, um, just pushing throughthe fatigue, whatever it is.
Repassado?
Yeah.
Reposado.
SPEAKER_01 (28:02):
I'm not drinking
right now.
No, but um, reposado helps.
Quiet is kept.
We're not promoting alcoholism.
Um but you know, it it depends.
Like, I think in usually I'mfine.
I feel like it hits me thenights where it's like I'm like
tired, I didn't really sleep, orlike it's like been a number of
nights stacking on each other.
(28:23):
So then that last or like thatweekend he was talking about,
like when we came back and hadto do the Super Bowl, like I was
fighting through that because Iwas still sick.
And it was like, and that was atwo-hour set, and it was just
like just getting off.
I had flu in, we flew in thatmorning, and it was just like it
was it was a lot.
So like times like that, it'sjust it's really just man, it's
(28:44):
just doing the job.
I think it's just yeah, just thelove of the game.
It's just like sometimes youjust gotta lock in and be like,
listen, it'll be over before youknow it.
Like so that's valid.
Yeah, that's that's really it.
Like, but sometimes it isreposado.
Sometimes it sometimes it reallyis reposado.
SPEAKER_02 (29:02):
Um yeah, for like a
while that was like kind of like
our thing.
Like every starter like said, like, you know, like some people
have like handshake, whatever.
Like our thing is like we cheersa little reposado, be like, yo,
see you on the other side andlet him rock out.
SPEAKER_00 (29:12):
Damn, yeah.
You know what's crazy?
I got a boy who DJs and he don'teven drink.
SPEAKER_02 (29:16):
Yeah, I mean he's
just those are probably like I
would say like people that workin nightlife.
I'm not surprised.
SPEAKER_00 (29:21):
But he's fueled off
a Red Bull, so that's uh that's
his own thing.
SPEAKER_01 (29:23):
He gotta he gotta
slow down off that, but like,
yeah, it's that's my dog.
Yeah, you know, it's it is athing that I mean that's why
I've I've actually taken a stepback from drinking a little bit,
because it's it's an easy thing.
Yeah, you drink for free, right?
Like that's the thing.
People come come see me DJ andthey're like, you need anything?
SPEAKER_00 (29:41):
No.
SPEAKER_01 (29:41):
Yeah, do you need
something?
SPEAKER_00 (29:42):
I got a bottle.
I respect it though.
It's harder to turn that down.
SPEAKER_01 (29:46):
And I and I respect
people offering that, but it's
like that's the thing.
It's like it's it's an easy trapto fall in because you literally
drink for free.
It's like it's the one job whereit's like you don't gotta worry
about it.
You know what I'm saying?
Like exactly.
Like, that's what even stoppeople from drinking sometimes
is how much money is about tocost them to keep drinking.
You know what I mean?
So it's like if you ain't if itdon't cost you now, they handing
you a bottle, handing you twobottles, handing you three
(30:07):
bottles, like, oh yeah, havefun.
unknown (30:09):
Shh.
SPEAKER_01 (30:09):
You know what I
mean?
If you don't, yeah, it adds up.
Take a toll on your body.
Yeah, so you know, it it isshout out to people that do the
job that can still do the job.
Because I I know there's otherpeople that like you can
convince yourself that you needthat to do the job.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, whether it's like youtrying to work off the nerves or
like you tired and you trying tokeep yourself up, it's like I I
(30:32):
I felt that for myself too, oflike, oh damn, like am I am I
not feeling the vibe enough ifI'm sober and everybody else in
here and drunk?
You know what I'm saying?
But it's like, nah, it's youdon't need that to get the job
though, you know what I'msaying?
SPEAKER_00 (30:43):
Like um if you're
good at what you do, you love
what you do, then it's cool.
You know, for sure.
If you want to do it here andthere, have fun.
Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_01 (30:50):
It's like you know,
I ain't done.
I ain't I ain't I ain't doneforever, but like, you know, you
gotta in moderation, you knowwhat I mean?
Catch yourself, you know what Imean?
Because it's like it is taking atoll on your body, and it if
this is your career, it's gonnabe a lot more nice like this.
SPEAKER_00 (31:04):
Facts.
SPEAKER_01 (31:04):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (31:05):
You know what's
funny, uh same thing.
You can ask Britt, because shecame out a long time ago.
And when we first started this,um, man, we were drinking.
I I remember our very firstepisode.
We almost 200 episodes in.
Yeah.
Very first episode, we had abottle of handy on the table and
just like and continue doingthat probably like the first 25
episodes.
Um made y'all stop.
(31:25):
Like, was there we're just likealright, we want to continue
doing this.
We didn't necessarily need it,but it was just like it started
as having fun with the boys.
We started during COVID, so it'slike and then I'm like, I'm
thinking about the future.
I'm like, bro, I can't beepisode 200.
Yeah, drinking hardly.
That's why we transition towine, so like if we want to have
something, something light, butI'm like, bro, I can't be
(31:47):
drinking reposado every week.
SPEAKER_01 (31:50):
Yeah, it does take a
toll, and it's like, yo.
SPEAKER_02 (31:53):
And if like we got
late nights sometimes too, so
like you're drinking on top oflike not really sleeping, bro.
You might be alright that firstday, and then it's like you
know, it takes you out, bro.
Trust me.
SPEAKER_00 (32:05):
So that's me on this
trip right now.
SPEAKER_01 (32:07):
So it's like, you
know.
Had a long night last night.
It adds up, you know.
And sometimes, again, like toyour point, it's like sometimes
that's what gets the partystarted, right?
Like, y'all probably wouldn'thave even gotten to 20 episodes
had had it not been for anybodyjust getting y'all in the groove
of like trying something new.
You know what I mean?
Like, but then after you getyour rhythm, it's like, all
(32:28):
right, what do we actually needhere?
Like, we don't need that.
You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_00 (32:31):
So it's like that
was more so for the guests.
It was like the who makes themcomfortable because it's an
experience for y'all too.
Exactly.
Exactly.
SPEAKER_01 (32:37):
And and and a lot of
times it can, again, it can help
people loosen up.
So, like, right, you know, I I'mnot gonna act like I have I
didn't use that as a crutch, butit's like I think it's just
about recognizing when you knowwhat I mean, yeah, exactly.
Exactly.
SPEAKER_00 (32:51):
So all right we're
gonna play a little game.
All right, it's game time.
Can you hit that green buttonone more time?
Yeah, it's game time.
We playing a little overrated orunderrated.
And we played this before, butwe never played a DJ edition.
SPEAKER_02 (33:07):
Okay.
SPEAKER_00 (33:09):
You prepared?
Listen, man.
Alright.
You can throw in your answerstoo if you want.
Alright.
Overrated or underratedunderground parties.
SPEAKER_01 (33:17):
Underground parties?
I read that wrong.
Overrated or underratedunderground parties.
Um depending on who you'retalking to.
It's it's funny.
I'm talking to you.
I'm talking about.
True.
Fair, fair.
For me, an underground party.
I'm gonna ask you a questionbefore I ask you a question.
What's an underground party?
SPEAKER_00 (33:38):
Let's say um an LA
house party.
I'm gonna say I'm gonna sayunderrated.
A NY basement party.
Underrated?
SPEAKER_02 (33:49):
Underrated under the
party.
SPEAKER_01 (33:50):
I'm gonna say
underrated.
I'm gonna say underrated.
Especially an NY basement party?
Definitely underrated.
I've actually never been to one.
Yeah, that's crazy.
That's crazy.
Could be the best night of yourlife, depending on who's hosting
that.
Yeah, no.
For sure.
I'll be out, I'll be out there.
LA could be overrated.
SPEAKER_00 (34:07):
But it's not really
a nightlife scene here, right?
It's more like events, houseparties.
SPEAKER_01 (34:11):
Yeah, for sure.
But I'm saying an LA house partycould be overrated.
It could be underrated.
Okay.
Depending on the NY could beunderrated.
For sure.
Underrated.
And why for sure?
I'm going to underrated forsure.
Okay.
SPEAKER_02 (34:20):
Jersey super
underrated.
SPEAKER_01 (34:22):
Jersey's super
underrated.
I like that.
I'm with that.
I'm actually with that.
Jersey.
Jersey.
Super underrated for the houseparty of Jersey.
Because everybody, Jersey.
Yeah, fix your face.
SPEAKER_02 (34:33):
Some of your
favorite creatives from Jersey.
Yeah, no, no.
This is true.
This is true.
Put some respect on our name.
SPEAKER_00 (34:38):
Matter of fact, I
don't know, you know, how far
you've been, where you've been,but is there a let's say,
besides Jersey, is there a statewhere they're like, all right,
this these people can get down.
SPEAKER_03 (34:47):
Dallas, Texas.
Dallas, Texas?
Dallas, Texas.
See, I knew you went on thetrips with them, didn't you?
Yeah, I went to the trips.
SPEAKER_00 (34:52):
I thought you were
trying to deny it.
SPEAKER_02 (34:55):
That's crazy.
SPEAKER_01 (34:55):
I didn't deny.
You get on the camera.
Dallas.
SPEAKER_02 (34:59):
He said, I'm coming
to see you.
Nah, I love Dallas.
Dallas is fun.
I feel like any like DallasQuick, too.
SPEAKER_05 (35:04):
Dallas, Texas.
SPEAKER_02 (35:05):
Dallas, Texas.
Without, because it's like themid, like mid-tier, like I hate
saying the mid-tier, but likemid-level cities.
See how they do?
Nah, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01 (35:14):
I don't know what
you said, man.
SPEAKER_02 (35:16):
What I'm saying is
not like a major big city, like
a New York, an LA, Atlanta, aMiami, like something that's
like a smaller hub.
Like, shhh, you know what I'msaying?
SPEAKER_03 (35:24):
Okay.
Those I feel like they have themost value.
They get down to Dallas.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
For sure.
What about you?
SPEAKER_01 (35:30):
I wasn't outside in
Dallas.
I ain't know.
I just worked in a lot ofcities.
I ain't never get to party, man.
SPEAKER_00 (35:36):
Well, you host a
party in a way.
SPEAKER_01 (35:38):
Yeah, no, I just
work.
unknown (35:40):
Okay.
SPEAKER_00 (35:41):
Have you ever seen a
crowd in a city that's like,
nah.
SPEAKER_01 (35:45):
I don't even like
people.
SPEAKER_00 (35:46):
So you you won't
even see the people.
SPEAKER_01 (35:48):
You just numbers for
you.
I would say if I had to pick acity that I don't think I've
been in a city that like I slepton and they like surprised me.
I think they usually live up tothe expectation.
I'm like, yeah, this placesucks.
I thought this place was gonnasuck, and it sucks.
Which one suck the most?
(36:08):
Um that's a really goodquestion.
Uh what was a what was a stopthat I was just like, I don't
think so.
Oh, no, it's I'm gonna behonest.
I'm gonna keep it stacked.
I'm not gonna say I thought thisplace sucked because the way
everybody talked about it waslike it was lit.
I went there twice in the lastyear.
(36:30):
I ain't moved.
Hit me with it.
Austin.
I am very moved by Austin.
SPEAKER_03 (36:34):
I had fun at Austin.
SPEAKER_01 (36:35):
Yeah, I'm not.
I had fun the first time.
I keep hearing, but like I mademyself have fun.
There's a difference between youhaving fun because you got a
good attitude and and like itwas actually fun.
You see what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02 (36:46):
Like so let me let
me ask you though.
When do you feel like youcompare your fun to like other
cities?
Like if you go to like Austin, are you comparing it to New
York?
Are you comparing it to no?
SPEAKER_01 (36:57):
Not at all.
I had a lot of fun in Boston mylife.
Because I feel like and it doesnot compete.
SPEAKER_03 (37:01):
Boston is a fun at
the city, though.
SPEAKER_01 (37:03):
Any of the fun that
I've had in LA and New York,
that it don't even light acandle.
But I I will only speak good onBoston, you know what I'm
saying?
Because of the time that I'vehad there, but like it don't
light a candle by far, it wasnot the most funny candle.
SPEAKER_00 (37:14):
But you just
specifically remember when it's
not a good time, it sticks withyou.
SPEAKER_01 (37:17):
Well, it's just more
so like everybody talking about
Austin being lit.
And and again, I have not beenthere like that, like that.
So like take this with a grainof salt.
Like, I was there both times forwork, didn't much that have much
time to party.
But like, bruh.
Nah.
SPEAKER_00 (37:35):
Bruh.
We have to see how this is Texasboy.
SPEAKER_01 (37:38):
Listen, Texas.
Like Dallas, I could see thepotential.
I didn't really get toexperience nothing out there, so
I can't speak on it.
Same with Houston.
Didn't get to really experience, but I hear good things.
SPEAKER_00 (37:48):
Say keep Austin
weird.
Hey.
Yeah, whatever that's supposedto do.
SPEAKER_01 (37:52):
That's their model.
Yeah, whatever that's supposedto be.
And and and listen, shout outthe people in Austin, man.
That's that's that like firstthing first.
Shout out to people in Austin.
I got some people.
I'll be listen, I'll be lookingat the the the uh the analytics.
We got some listeners in Austin,so shout out to the folks at
Austin.
SPEAKER_00 (38:12):
Actually, I want to
say same because I think Austin,
Dallas, and Houston is in ourtop ten listeners.
See?
See?
I do want to go to Houston.
SPEAKER_02 (38:20):
Have you been either
one of y'all been to Houston?
SPEAKER_00 (38:22):
Yeah, I've been to
Houston and Dallas.
I've been but all my stops atTexas have been like real quick.
So I haven't I haven't been ablelike really get a full like I
went to Dallas, but I went to uhGiants versus Cowboys game.
So I wasn't really likeexperience all of it.
SPEAKER_01 (38:36):
So y'all take this
with a grain of salt.
I'm not trying to love me.
I'm not trying to kick stomp onAustin.
I just in a little bit of timethat I've been there, I ain't
been to Wavies.
SPEAKER_00 (38:46):
You know what?
Maybe they need to put us on.
SPEAKER_01 (38:47):
That's what I'm
saying.
A little joint tour, that's whatI'm saying.
We need to go down there.
Show us where it's at.
Put that in the comments.
Where is the vibes at the nexttime we're gonna come out?
I get some barbecue and vibes.
Because I have some TerryBlacks, though.
SPEAKER_04 (39:02):
You know what I
mean?
Barbecue.
SPEAKER_01 (39:04):
Because that's what
they're known for.
We're not even about to go downthis rabbit hole, bro.
Alright, let's get another one.
SPEAKER_00 (39:11):
So um, what's a good
one?
Uh I said this before, butoverrated, underrated festival
crowds.
You ever perform for festivalcrowds?
SPEAKER_01 (39:22):
Underrated.
Underrated.
Okay.
Underrated.
Strong, strong, understanding.
Underrated.
Strong and strong.
Underrated.
Underrated.
Underrated.
That is by far underrated.
What's the biggest crowd youperform for?
I don't know how many peoplewere in that crowd, but it was
at a smaller stage at RollingLoud.
(39:43):
Okay.
That was for for sure.
I I did it with another artist.
So it was mainly his set.
I wasn't really DJing.
SPEAKER_00 (39:49):
So that's at least
what it was?
SPEAKER_01 (39:52):
At least.
At least.
Um, but like another one where Iwas just DJing was probably like
2,500 people.
Okay.
And that was in San Diego.
SPEAKER_00 (39:59):
Um so is there like
a high you get from it when
there's a large crowd?
unknown (40:04):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (40:05):
Yeah, man.
Like I think that is what we allstriving for.
Like that feeling of like, Ikeep bringing up Justin Bieber,
but like that.
SPEAKER_00 (40:16):
We let it be.
SPEAKER_01 (40:17):
You know what I'm
saying?
Like that is like, I thinkanybody that's an artist, you're
gonna see that.
I I don't I don't see how youcannot be inspired.
You know what I'm saying?
Especially if you felt somethingclose to that, then you can only
imagine what it feels to haveall of the hundreds of thousands
of people that's probably atCoachella, or whatever the
number is at Coachella is likewatching you and you know what I
mean.
(40:39):
Yeah, it's like come on, man.
Like that, I think that as for aperformer, like festivals as a
you know a fan, overrated.
But like, but as a performer, underrated.
SPEAKER_00 (40:53):
That is would you
ever perform?
SPEAKER_01 (40:56):
Say yeah?
SPEAKER_00 (40:57):
Would you ever
perform?
SPEAKER_01 (40:58):
Like at a festival?
SPEAKER_00 (40:59):
In general, like
because you make music too,
right?
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
Like would you take that everytime step away from the mixer
and put on full performance?
SPEAKER_01 (41:08):
Absolutely.
I think that like I can see whyan artist would also say, like,
if you used to doing big crowds,I can see why artists is gonna
say overrated because then themusic can get lost, right?
Like, nothing's like an intimateshow if if it's like, you know,
a hundred uh or like a 200 caproom, right?
Like everybody, you get ifyou're in a 200-cap room, you
can see everybody in the room, right?
Like, so like, but that like isgonna mean more to like Drake,
(41:33):
who like is doing big festivalsor stadiums or whatever, right?
Or like a Justin Bebe orwhoever.
Um, whereas like somebody on acome up, when you do your first
festival or your first likestadium, change the life.
Man, I don't like that's afeeling I can only imagine what
that feels like.
So I think that yeah, I thinkthat performing at a festival is
(41:55):
100% underrated.
Going to a festival, young man'sgame, overrated.
I'm good.
Yeah, that's a fact.
SPEAKER_00 (42:02):
Yeah, I'm I remember
uh, well, you was talking about
really loud.
It was in Miami for so manyyears.
Yes, yeah, and uh, oh man, itgot it's nasty hot too.
SPEAKER_02 (42:10):
They do it during
the summer, right?
SPEAKER_00 (42:12):
Yeah, like like May.
That's nasty.
In May, it's already humidity'salready out now.
It's nasty.
And I don't it's it's uh I wantto say it's a 16 plus event.
SPEAKER_01 (42:22):
So it you get a lot
of festivals are, even
Coachella.
They got kids at Coachella,yeah.
People don't realize it, butlike it's kids.
SPEAKER_00 (42:29):
That's something I
didn't know at first.
Yeah, it's kids.
SPEAKER_01 (42:31):
That's why they got
a whole beer garden and stuff,
because you can only drink in acertain area.
But yeah, no, it's it's it'skids at most of these festivals.
SPEAKER_00 (42:38):
Yeah, we'll stay
with you.
SPEAKER_01 (42:39):
Buy a lot of bit a
lot of liability.
So I respect them for takingthat chance because I thought
festival, yeah.
I don't think so.
Yeah, trust me.
Tell little Timmy go toplayground something.
I don't think so.
Okay, go, go, you know what Imean?
SPEAKER_00 (42:54):
So we were gonna uh
end on this little a few
scenarios related to the music.
Um what's the first one?
I I want to make sure I word itright.
So basically, we're gonna givesome scenarios.
Um, what we would play.
Well, primarily would Josh wouldplay, Josie.
SPEAKER_03 (43:10):
Josie.
SPEAKER_00 (43:11):
In certain
scenarios, certain situations,
especially as a DJ.
Um, but we want to make itrelatable for everybody.
So whether it's on a late nightdrive, uh on the way to work,
after a long day, in thebedroom, whatever you're doing,
at the gym, whatever you'redoing.
So we'll have differentscenarios.
Okay.
So uh let's start with, let'sstart with, ooh.
(43:36):
I'm thinking of a good one.
You know what?
We're gonna start hot.
Okay.
Because I just said it.
Oh, yeah.
And we got a big femaleaudience, about 80% lady.
So it's a song you will play inthe bedroom.
Special lady.
Special lady.
Special lady.
Not special.
She's real special to you.
She's real special.
Real special.
You're trying to set the mood.
SPEAKER_01 (43:57):
Oh, okay.
Uh I'm I might off top then goSha Day.
I might off top go Sha Day.
Go Sade.
Um a little bit.
Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (44:13):
I'm trying to audio
track in the in the in the cover
too.
SPEAKER_01 (44:17):
Off top.
Oh my god.
Love is rock.
I don't know why it took me solong to say that.
Okay.
Love is rock side for sure, yeah.
That's going like you stilllighting the candles.
Maybe the wine has been pouredalready.
Maybe you pouring the wine.
You should have had a music planalready, so then you pouring the
(44:38):
wine while the song is playing.
Okay.
Setting the mood.
Lighting the candles all that.
You feel me?
Okay.
Setting the mood.
SPEAKER_00 (44:44):
More God.
SPEAKER_01 (44:45):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (44:46):
Me personally, I
don't need to pick a song.
I just go to YouTube and type inline down.
Pick the phone.
There you go, man.
SPEAKER_01 (44:55):
Shameless plug, man.
Go and get that, man.
SPEAKER_02 (44:58):
I do that.
SPEAKER_00 (44:59):
You feel me?
You get an hour of this, baby.
Yeah, like because like we'regonna be able to do that.
We got hours.
We got hours.
SPEAKER_02 (45:07):
We got different
options for you.
You know what I mean?
I'm trying to focus on theconversation that with the young
lady.
I don't want to have to keeplike making sure.
Sometimes Spotify gets a littlesplit.
I'm gonna be real with you.
SPEAKER_00 (45:17):
Good point.
I do the, I'm with you.
I do the same because first ofall, that's a good point.
That's a very good point.
The music is important.
You can't sit there in silence.
Ah, hell no.
And same with Spotify.
You don't know if somethingcomes up.
Like you it's going good, thenpop shit playing.
And then now the move messed up.
Now it's messed up.
They start throwing insuggestions.
(45:38):
I don't want that.
I don't want that.
You feel me?
Give me a strict playlist.
Yeah.
I don't gotta touch it.
Yeah.
The camera is.
Curated.
I did this.
SPEAKER_02 (45:47):
All of them work.
You gotta listen to enjoy themoment.
And listen, I'm so player.
I'm so player.
I don't even go.
I play the one that you send inthe email for me to put me to
touch it.
Like no commercials.
SPEAKER_01 (45:58):
Yeah, no
commercials.
He said no outbreaks.
Yeah, no outbreaks, Kevin.
SPEAKER_02 (46:04):
What you mean we're
having a like a serious
conversation and then all of asudden an Ozempic commercial or
some crazy shit like that.
Are you struggling with thepressure?
Like no, I'm not trying to hearthat.
SPEAKER_00 (46:16):
Nah, we can't have
that.
We can't have that.
Yeah, so.
SPEAKER_01 (46:19):
Window, man.
Gotta we gotta do it.
We on 13.
We got 13 volumes.
That's enough time for you to dowhat you gotta do.
If it ain't happening 13volumes, gang.
Bro, I got superpowers.
Yeah, you gotta figure it out.
SPEAKER_02 (46:33):
The crazy part, you
know, I feel like we don't ever
talk about the comments, bro.
We read like, we always read thecomments and we try to respond
to like everything.
And bro, like, there's hellacomments where it's like, yo, I
got some cheeks to this.
Like, shout out to y'all, bro.
SPEAKER_01 (46:46):
Shout out to
everybody getting cheeks to the
window.
Like, I don't I don't likeputting like nah, but
respectful, because like I don'tlike putting myself on the
screen.
So I won't ever play it.
Like, that feels tooself-indulgent to like have
somebody come to my play.
So I'm at somebody else's play, whatever it is, right?
Like, hotel, whatever.
(47:07):
And then put myself on thescreen.
Just but I want that playlist, which is why we started doing
windown radio.
Which is out now.
Shameless plug.
We got window radio right now.
Audio only.
You know, we got the first ones,it's just interludes.
Like it's some of my favoriteinterludes, but it's definitely
(47:27):
made for sexy time.
You know what I'm saying?
When you it's that moment,right?
It's on YouTube only right now,but we're gonna we're gonna move
it to other platforms for sure.
But yeah, that's a good, like, just put that on.
It's only 30 minutes.
So stick and move with that.
That's the one that's just youfeel me?
Like, that's keep curate that.
You feel me?
(47:47):
Yeah, like that one is just toget the, you know what I mean?
When you walk through the door, when you pouring the wine, all
of that, getting the vibestarted.
That's the perfect set the moodjoint.
You know what I'm saying?
But that ain't gonna get youthrough the night.
But we got more coming.
Okay, for sure.
Okay, for sure.
SPEAKER_00 (48:02):
Okay, so so you
DJing and you gotta set the vibe
right.
What's a song that will work nomatter what?
It's gonna get everybody going.
Yo, it's so funny.
SPEAKER_01 (48:12):
There's so many,
right?
I'm uh off top though, becausewhen when when you said
everybody, it's it put me likeoutside of the lens of like just
the RB a hip hop crowd, right?
Like, and so then I thoughtabout what happened in the story
we told you previously, where Ididn't have electric slide.
SPEAKER_03 (48:34):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (48:35):
Suave mente, as
quiet as it kept, you play that
in any environment.
Pandemonium.
Pandemonium, people gonna gocrazy.
Cause who don't know SuaveMente?
You feel me?
Suave Mente guaranteed to work.
Um, you know, it's so many, butlike Superstar by Usher, that's
a good one.
Superstars are good.
(48:55):
Okay.
SPEAKER_02 (48:56):
You know what else
goes crazy when you play it too?
Is like that by future.
Like that, definitely.
Honestly, any future.
SPEAKER_01 (49:06):
That's gonna work.
That's lifestyle.
Yeah, lifestyle.
This lifestyle is like, youknow, that's what you want.
With old lifestyle?
Uh yeah.
Yeah, with Rich Dom.
Exactly.
Like lifestyle is gonna workevery time.
Every time.
Like lifestyle is like, youknow, um one that people use as
a crutch.
I know you didn't ask me this.
(49:26):
No, but it just made me think ofit.
Because that song does work, butI don't prefer playing.
It's always being played.
Oh, don't say it.
It's Swag Surf.
Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00 (49:37):
Okay.
SPEAKER_01 (49:37):
Swagsurf is a song
that I feel like.
Maybe y'all play that moreeverybody.
SPEAKER_00 (49:41):
People in Florida
don't play it as much.
Yeah, like it is something thatis over.
We play Dreams and Nightmares alot.
SPEAKER_01 (49:47):
Oh, yeah.
That's another one.
SPEAKER_00 (49:49):
That's almost mad
when I hear it now.
SPEAKER_01 (49:51):
I'm gonna be honest.
That one, I feel more disdainfor that than I do Swag Surf.
SPEAKER_02 (49:56):
To play Devil's
Advocate, though.
If it's the right time, it's not1.30.
It's the right time.
And the repo is repo in theright.
It's the right time.
You know what I'm saying?
And the lights are off, thelights is on, bro.
Like I'm with the homies.
SPEAKER_01 (50:09):
It's crazy.
My eyes get closed.
There was a there was a time Igot a request for that song and
I didn't play it.
Um, and I usually play requestswhen I think it's a good song.
Yeah, like I'm not one of theDJs that's like, oh, I don't
play.
Unless it sucks.
If it sucks, then I can't helpyou.
But like if it's a solid song,yeah.
Why not turn you up andeverybody else in here?
But um she requested Dreams andNightmares, and while that is a
(50:34):
decent request, it I didn't likeI didn't like the setting for
it.
Like it was like it was at um Idon't know if I told you this,
but um, it was at uh what's thatclub at West Hollywood, the spot
we did.
I only did it once, but um itwas recent.
SPEAKER_02 (50:51):
What's her name,
bro?
SPEAKER_01 (50:53):
Yes.
SPEAKER_02 (50:53):
Oh, yeah, I know
what you're saying.
What is it?
It's gallery.
SPEAKER_01 (50:56):
Gallery.
We was at Gallery on Sunset.
Um to put it in lame's terms,it's not that many black people
at Gallery on Sunset.
And she this woman, you know, Idon't know, seemed like a nice
girl.
She came up to me and requestsDreams and Nightmares.
Dreams and nightmares.
And I automatically assumed thatshe was referring to an artist I
just didn't know.
(51:18):
Yeah, like I just I was like,uh, and I didn't have the Wi-Fi,
so I'm like, you know.
Yeah, I just, and then she waslike, Dreams and nightmares,
Meek Mill.
I said, Oh, you meant dream MeekMill's dreams and name.
SPEAKER_00 (51:29):
I was just trying to
turn this up.
Nah.
SPEAKER_01 (51:30):
But before I played
that, I played Unwritten by
Natasha Betterfield.
That's another one.
That's a banger right.
That's awesome.
That is also a crowd pleaser.
That is that is definitely mywhite girl song that I'm gonna
play every time.
SPEAKER_02 (51:42):
Drop that, drop
that, drop that.
You know what it is.
SPEAKER_00 (51:48):
Alright, so what we

SPEAKER_02 (52:04):

SPEAKER_04 (52:20):

you're gonna say.
Everybody knows the song, bro.
SPEAKER_00 (52:34):

NBA 2K only put it on therebecause of how lit that song
got.
It's on NBA 2K.
That's what I'm saying.
Only he knows that.
Again, usually what I'vegathered is in places where they
(54:10):
are playing songs like that, noone gives me a lot of things.
SPEAKER_02 (54:14):
They're really there
to like feel like hang out with
their friends.
SPEAKER_01 (54:16):
Yeah, no one really
cares about the music.
Yeah.
You're just here because thisplace is where you can get the
most you know F'd up in here, and then that's it.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, you just trying to get themost lit you could possibly get.
Everybody, they don't care.
There's actually been playinganything.
SPEAKER_00 (54:34):
There's been times,
like I like music like that.
I like a good house beat.
And there's been times whereI've been places like that, and
they're actually playing goodmusic, and they're not even
dancing because they talking anddrinking so much.
SPEAKER_01 (54:45):
Exactly.
That's what I'm saying.
They be playing baby shark inthere.
They don't care.
They don't care.
No one cares that's at thatestablishment that is overly
playing the EDM.
Like house music and DEM, twodifferent things.
Two different things.
Two different things.
I like house.
I love house.
House, we could do.
Two different things.
EDM specifically, when theyrinsing that stuff.
(55:06):
I'm not even going to startquoting songs, but like when
they rinsing some of thatmaterial.
I don't think so.
I don't think so.
That's all I'm going to say.
That's fair.
SPEAKER_00 (55:15):
