(00:00):
Thanks for joining us today. I'm Tim and I'm an alcoholic. And I'm Rusty G and I'm
(00:05):
an alcoholic and this is Children of Chaos. We wanted to come together today
for one last time in 2024 and let you know that we're going to be taking a
break between now and the first of the year. That doesn't mean we are going away.
We're just going to continue recording and putting episodes in the bank and
(00:31):
getting ready to launch a new season on Wednesday, January 8th of 2025. Thus far
we've been able to share 46 episodes through childrenofchaos.net. We've
established listeners in 109 locations in the United States and 13 countries and
(00:57):
that's something I never imagined that we're going to be able to do. And you
know it's interesting to watch the listenership, I guess that's the right
word, increase on a weekly basis. It's slow, it's steady, but I think we're
(01:19):
hitting the right people. Well also it's it I feel like it's been the people that
we've had come on the show, you know on the podcast with us. I mean all these
people are in recovery and excited to put it what recovery is really about out
there. So I've really enjoyed every guest we've had. You bet. We started actually
(01:45):
recording about this time last year and we began airing the podcast in November
and you know we started off with the title episode, The Pilot, if you will,
Children of Chaos and the Living Years. You know we moved on to what is the
(02:09):
jumping off point that somebody decides that they need to do something about
their addiction. And we talked about addiction in the brain and levels of
addiction and we ventured off into a lot of different areas of recovery, couples
(02:29):
in recovery, the journey towards a spiritual life. We talked about
sponsoring, we talked about eating disorders and cocaine anonymous and a
couple of my favorite episodes happened to be, Am I Clean and Sober? And we did
three episodes there. Yeah. And each of those episodes went in a different
(02:53):
direction. They really did. It was for me it was surprising. A lot of the things
that were brought up and each individual's own opinion on that. And
I think we all had a particular opinion going into those conversations and I
(03:13):
think those opinions changed with the conversation. Yeah. By hearing
another viewpoint. Yes. Some of my favorites were of course, Stage Two Recovery.
Oh absolutely. Of course, segments there. I really enjoyed, personally, I really enjoyed doing that and
(03:35):
and the people that we had on and their feedback with it. I thought it was
really one of our more informative podcasts. I thought it was a wonderful
series and it was very enjoyable doing as a series. And there's lessons learned
there. Yeah. One of those would be, you don't need to go into a full recap of
(03:58):
each episode, but you know we're learning as we go. Well we are and you know for
anyone that's listening today is that you know we would really like to
have some feedback about how we can reach more people because a lot of people out
(04:19):
there that are in pain and need some help. The best way to get ahold of us is
to put a comment on our Facebook page, childrenofchaos.net. Okay. It's a good
idea Rusty. And also ideas for a subject that you would like to hear that we
haven't covered so far. Absolutely. I also love our personal stories where people
(04:45):
have shared their experience and their strength and their hope and some of the
miracles that we've heard coming across our airwaves. It's just amazing the the
impact of recovery on people's lives. And that getting to the point of recovery is
(05:09):
different for everybody and what it takes for them to hit their bottom and
realize they need help. Rusty, I want to thank you for asking me to become a
part of this with you and you know our friendship has grown exponentially over
(05:33):
the past year and a little bit more and I'm so happy that that's happened. And
it's right back at you bud. I mean it's been better than I ever dreamed. We
haven't had one big fight. That's pretty amazing. Let me say that for my cause. I've been in some big fights.
(05:57):
So let me say that. I mean we've had some disagreements of course but it's
always turned out that we come into agreement and we just move forward.
You know we disagree about many things but we always approach those
conversations with love and kindness and compassion and with that way we can
(06:20):
conquer anything together. It's been just great and I'm looking forward to January.
So we hope that you will join us Wednesday January 8th. I can't wait to
see you in January and we're gonna start season 25. Have a great day everybody.
We appreciate every one of you that's listening. Love you Rusty. Love you Tim.
