THE Christian Money podcast. Jeffrey Lucas Jr. helps Christians align their money with their calling.
This morning I cradled a cup of delightfully-roasted Kenyan AA coffee. The Christmas tree lights were on. All five of my children were asleep. I was spending time in silence, meditating, praying, and thinking about the day.
It was a moment of bliss.
I have a healthy family, a peaceful moment, a warm home, and a fantastic cup of coffee. Who could want anything more than this?

I’ve increased the DIY projects I’m willing to dive into recently.
I’ve completed more of my own vehicle maintenance, more home, and rental repairs, and attempted other things that I previously would have hired out. I’m not naturally a mechanically inclined person. Armed with Youtube and a confident spirit I’ve jumped into project after project with (mostly) positive results and a bit of saved money.

Let your light shine before men so that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)

I had the privilege of speaking at Journey Community Church recently.
The church was gracious enough to pass the audio file on to me and now I'm sharing it with you.
If you'd like for me to come to speak at your church, event or small group get in contact with me.

It seems we can’t go a week without uncovering a scandal of a well-known ministry. From Mars Hill to Bill Hybels to Ravi Zacharias, we seem to be in a season where the mighty are falling. I often scan the horizon to see if one of the ministries or pastors I think highly of might be next. What if one of the organizations I’m involved with falls? What if I’m giving money to the next cautionary tale in power abuse, sexual exploitation...

Jeremy Miller left his role of pastoring a financially stable church to lead a fiscally floundering bible college. Don't you love it when someone spends money researching something that you've had a hunch about, but you don't have gobs of grant money, time, or expertise to research it yourself?

I was having lunch with an old colleague of mine, recently. He was giving me some flack about a career decision I made.
“I cannot believe that you chose Option A when Option B was clearly on the table for you. Why in the world would you pick Option A?”
Admittedly, I put up a few weak defenses but the truth is he was right. Option B was clearly the better option.
Not only that, Option A has been a tougher road. It’s forced me to wal...
