(00:01):
Hi and welcome to Timeless Truths where rediscover injury
and wisdom through the lens of classic quotes here on the
classic Advice podcast. Today's quote is this quote.
Gratitude teaches us to turn ordinary days into priceless
memories by simply appreciating what we often overlook UN quote,

(00:23):
And that is as far as I could find, it wasn't attributed to
anybody. So that's just author unknown,
priceless memories that we oftenoverlook.
This got me thinking about what memory I could share with you
guys. And what I came up with was last

(00:46):
summer, I was standing out, looking out into the the pasture
and watering the cows that we had on our property for a little
while. And I was envisioning the home

(01:08):
that I would eventually create with my husband here and all the
things that we would add to the property to make it just
perfect, just the way that we want it.
But I was practicing gratitude that day because I found myself

(01:33):
getting, I guess, sad because it's going to take a really long
time for us to get there. Like I'm talking years upon
years upon years. And I'm not a very patient
person by nature. It's always been a bit of a

(01:54):
sticky spot for me that I'm not good at waiting.
So I was consciously practicing gratitude and listing off a
bunch of things that I was grateful for.
And I came up with just the factthat we bought this land, that
it actually happened this year. We've been waiting for like 10

(02:15):
years just to buy the property, and it's probably going to be 10
plus years for us now building on the property.
But we have some land. And now I have that priceless
memory of me standing by the fence watering cows that aren't
mine. And the sun was setting and it

(02:40):
was so peaceful and beautiful out and I was just so grateful
to be there because I used to bethe person driving down the road
wishing I was the person watering the cows.
And now I am the person wateringthe cows.
Well, not anymore because cows are gone, but we got the land.

(03:06):
It's one step gratitude. I'm such a big fan of gratitude
because it completely changes our outlook and our attitude.
If we are in a negative frame ofmind, it just completely shifts
everything. Instead of looking and thinking

(03:29):
about all of the things that I didn't have, I was just purely
appreciating all the wonderful things I already have.
I'm going to leave it there, butI'll read it to you guys one
more time. Quote.
Gratitude teaches us to turn ordinary days into priceless

(03:51):
memories by simply appreciating what we often overlook.
UN quote. And I couldn't find anyone to
credit that quote too. So just author unknown.
What are you guys grateful for today?

(04:12):
Take care till next time bye.
