This week we'll discuss the opinion of Don Lemon and his belief that Matt Lauer can come back to T.V. (and whether or not we can take his opinion seriously). We'll also discuss The Morning Show and how it relates to Matt Lauer's #metoo incident from 2017. Let's talk to the human robot (not A.I.), his stomach issues and miserable marriages out loud in the workplace. Always be careful when play-fighting with your children and also be sure to not ignore injuries when out hiking in the woods.

Close your blinds, shut off your lights and put your phones on airplane mode because it's time to join me for another episode of "Coco Off the Grid."

Speaker 1 (00:42):
What's up, homies?
We are here for another episodethis week.
How is everybody doing?
Hope everyone's good.
I'm currently quote-unquoteworking, but I have to do this
at home because if I don't havetime or I don't give myself time
in the evening, I've becomevery lazy to try and get this
done.
So while I have energy, we'regoing to do it now.

(01:03):
How about that?
So I hope everyone's had a goodweek so far, keeping up with my
Duolingo, pretending to learnsome Spanish in my off time.
If you're any clicking in thebackground, it's just because I
have to pretend I am active.
Sorry for anybody who I workwith that listens to this, but I
will fall asleep if I don'thave something to do.
Anyway, today's the 30th Okay,cool.

(01:25):
This might be a short episodeagain, only because I didn't
have much to report back on thisweek.
Not much happened.
Still feeling kind of tired, drinking some orange juice about
to drink.
That frappe that I have in thefridge that I'm holding down had
a McGriddle this morning.
It was delicious.
That frappe that I have in thefridge that I'm holding down had

(01:46):
a McGriddle this morning.
It was delicious.
There's certain things that whenyou eat them and you haven't
eaten them in a long time.
They taste way better.
I have to say they've improvedon the McGriddle.
It's made me very happy thesepast couple of days.
The bacon, egg and cheese one Idon't really fuck with sausage
for breakfast.
I'm not really a fan of it.
Like maybe if like biscuits andgravy and there's little pieces
like sausage in it, then sure, but I don't want a whole fucking

(02:07):
sausage patty.
None of that.
No, we'll do.
We'll save sausage for Italianmeals and whatnot.
I'm not doing that forbreakfast, personal preference.
But you know a lot of peopledon't like other people's
opinions, so this one's gettingshoved down your throat anyway.
But you can like it, I justdon't want to like it.
So the first thing I saw, firstthing I saw last week for

(02:30):
headlines that made me crazy orlaugh with craziness, is Matt
Lauer might be trying to comeback to the Today Show, or they
said that it's possible that hecould.
So let's take a look, because Idon't think so, because this
whole Me Too movement and shitkind of really started with him.
Matt Lauer.
He was on the Today Show withKatie Couric and it's evolved

(02:55):
over the years and I forgot howlong it's been since that
fucking thing happened.
It was 2017 when the incidenthappened, but let's read this,
let's educate ourselves.
Don Lemon thinks that formerToday host Matt Lauer could
stage a comeback.
Women love him.
Which ones?
Which ones?
In my opinion, because backwhen this scandal was going down

(03:17):
, no woman loved him.
So let's see.
I think the ratings would begreat.
Have we forgiven him?
Or is it just that he hasnothing else going on that
they're like, hey, we might haveto bring him back because all
our fucking Today Show peopleare leaving, which is true.
A lot of the Today Show people, like I said, with evolution
comes change.
A lot of people just want tomove on with their life.
A lot of these hosts I've seenchange hats.

(03:38):
They just decided, hey, thisdesk ain't for me anymore at
five in the morning, this deskain't for me anymore at five in
the morning, my desk ain't forme any time of the day.
Don Lemon is predicting a majorcomeback for Matt Lauer, eight
years after the former newsanchors, by the way.
This is crazy.
The former news anchorscolossal.
Fall from grace right there.

(03:58):
That should tell you everythingyou need to know and just be
like no, it was very public, very in the media's eye about
what happened to Matt Lauer, andwe'll get to that, don't worry.
During his Wednesday visit tothe Hollywood Raw podcast with
Dax Holt and Adam Glynn, lemonproved that he is in Lauer's
corner while pondering hisfriend's future career prospects

(04:20):
.
Asked if he believes Lauercould successfully return to the
industry, lemon replied I thinkthat if he could come back to
digital he can set his owncourse.
I mean, start your own podcastthen, bruh, you don't need to be
on the Today Show anymore.
Try to exonerate yourself thatway.
Don't come back to the newsbecause women are not going to
want to work with you.
And, like I said, we're goingto get to the reason why.
In a minute the former CNNanchor went on to share that to

(04:41):
this day, lauer is stillapproached by fans in public.
I only got to know Matt afteryou know the whole situation
happened because we live in thesame town and we have mutual
friends.
Lemon explained whenever I seeMatt out and about or you know,
if we go out to dinner, myhusband and I go out to dinner
with him and his fiance andpeople love him.
First of all, I didn't know DonLemon was gay, but okay, he

(05:05):
added women love him.
He added women love them.
Love him with an exclamation, aquestion mark.
But for me it's a question mark.
I don't believe it.
They're like man oh my God, canI get a picture?
I love you, I miss you.
On television, I think thepublic loves him, the public
misses him, but it's just the.
It's the people inside thebusiness who are afraid he is.
He was a walking liability atthe time and he might still be
Again.
We're going to get to why.
Okay, sorry, I'm speaking outof turn, focusing on the wrong

(05:32):
thing at the moment.
Lauer was famously fired fromhis role as a Today anchor in
2017 when former NBC employeeBrooke Nevels alleged that he
sexually assaulted her.
Lauer denied the allegations, which were detailed in Ronan
Farrow's 2019 book about thehashtag MeToo movement, catch
and Kill Live Spies and aConspiracy to Protect Predator.
Afterward, several more womencame forward with sexual
misconduct claims against Lauer, which he acknowledged in a
statement, saying some of whatis being said about me is untrue

(05:55):
or mischaracterized, butthere's enough truth in these
stories to make me feelembarrassed and ashamed Because
you did it Like there's enoughtruth.
Shut the fuck up, just be likeyes, I did.
I'm so sorry.
What is wrong with people?
What is wrong with that?
Lemon went on to argue thatLauer might have a better chance
of returning to the industry inlight of President Trump's
reelection.

(06:15):
More than a dozen women haveaccused the sitting president of
sexual assault or harassment, and in one 2023 case he was
found liable of sexual abuse.
Listen, don't compare MattLauer to the president.
I'm not saying that the one isbetter than the other or one
person is equal to the other.
I'm not saying it.
Tv anchor falls nowhere nearpresident in general.
Maybe in this whole Trump era, when canceled is over, maybe

(06:38):
there's a way that he'll comeback.
Yeah, he'll come back from thegrave.
I think it's more the peoplewho are inside of the business
who are concerned about whathappened with Matt.
He continued.
I'll put it this way I thinkthe general public would accept
Matt back and I think peoplewould watch him and I think the
ratings would be great.
As for the allegations againstLauer, lemon said I don't know
anything about what happened.
I know nothing about that atall.
He knows he's too quick.

(06:59):
He praised the former TV hostas a talented person, adding
women can feel the way that theyfeel and I understand that, but
that's their business.
I know when I'm out with him, everybody loves Matt and
everybody flocks to Matt andeveryone wants a picture and
everyone says I miss you and wewant to see you back on
television.
I hear it every time.
Where, where are you hearingthis brah?
Where are you hearing this?

(07:22):
I have never heard anyone inthe media ever mentioned
anything about Matt Lauer comingback.
Not that I'm part of the media, but you get what I'm saying.
There's no headlines of MattLauer saying he wants to come
back to TV.
There's no co-hosts of any showhe's ever been on saying, hey,
he should be back Nobody.
But this guy is saying that.

(07:43):
He hears people all the timesaying that Record it, please
and post it somewhere.
I want fucking receipts.
That's what I want.
I want a receipt that someoneis actually out there saying
this shit.
Okay, last year, lauer made arare public appearance at the
wedding of Lemon and hislongtime partner, tim Malone.

(08:05):
Lemon, a news anchor himself, was abruptly fired from CNN in
2023 following an extensivevariety report with allegations
of sexist behavior and then Idon't like this word denigration
of female colleagues datingback to 2008.
That's why there it is.
We figured it out.
We figured it out bitch.
He's like oh, a band ofbrothers, we all got to stick
together.
Oh shit, nah, I'm not doing nokickoff call at four.

(08:29):
Sorry, I can't make that.
I leave at 430.
So no thanks.
Oh, let's see.
Lemon attempted his own comebackwith the Don Lemon show on X,
but the show was abruptlycanceled by the social media
platform's owner, elon Musk.
Lemon is now suing Muskalleging fraud, negligent
misrepresentation,misappropriation of his name and

(08:49):
likeness, unjust enrichment andbreach of express contract.
This is why this is why he's insupport of fucking Matt Lauer.
He goes does all of us got toget together?
All of us with the badreputations and shit got to get
together?
Band of Brothers style.
Let's do it like in prison.
Let's rush the guards.

(09:10):
That's insane.
I knew there was a catch as towhy he was pushing so hard for
this motherfucker.
Let's see these comments.
Bruh.
Don is entitled to his opinion, but if a convicted felon can be
elected, president, matt cancome back to TV.
Also, my opinion.
Does anyone care what Don Lemonthinks about anything?

(09:30):
No, matt Lauer did terriblethings to women he worked with.
He uses power to get away withit for who knows how long.
Just because Trump gets a passdoesn't mean assaulting women is
okay.
Lauer created or contributed toa toxic work environment.
He's worth a lot of money andneeds to stay quiet.
I meant to say, regarding hiswealth, that he doesn't need to
work.
Okay, he added.
He replied to himself.

(09:51):
I don't know.
Maybe Don Lemon isn't the bestsource of information about how
the public feels about MattLauer.
Yeah, I agree, fucking ass.
That's the most stupid ass, fucking ass opinion I've ever
heard in my life.
So we're going to go to theoriginal issue that happened
with Matt Lauer, because I wanty'all to understand.
When it says colossal, fallfrom grace is the craziest

(10:12):
phrasing you could ever useagainst somebody who's done
something like this.
And yes, this was in 2017, rightbefore they released the
morning show which had the samepremise.
A male anchor got accused ofsome shit, which actually did
happen.
The further you watch into theshow and he tries to make a
comeback, saying those fuckingbitches are against me and that

(10:34):
no, bro, that's crazy talk.
That's crazy talk.
You did some shit and theyfound out it was true and to
save the company's ass, theyfucking tossed your ass out.
Maybe don't do the things.
They even had female characterson that show, apologize or feel
guilty for having turned theirhead at what was happening, even
though they knew what was goingon.
Anyway, I'm not going to spoilthe rest of the show, all right.

(10:57):
Matt Lauer accused of sexualharassment by multiple women.
This was from November 29th2017.
A new report from Variety comesjust hours after Lauer was
fired by NBC.
Coming on the heels of MattLauer's firing from NBC, a new
Variety report detailsallegations of sexual harassment
against the former Today anchorfrom three former colleagues.
That's enough, that's way thefuck.

(11:22):
Enough.
There we go, clickingeverywhere.
The alleged victims, who spoketo Variety on the condition of
anonymity, but whose accountswere also corroborated by
friends and colleagues, detailedthe pattern of behavior that
was inappropriate and abusive.
As the co-host of NBC's Today, matt Lauer once gave a colleague
a sex toy as a present.
It included an explicit noteabout how he wanted to use it on

(11:42):
her, which left her mortified.
Read the article's leadparagraph.
On another day, he summoned adifferent female employee to his
office and then dropped hispants, showing her his penis.
After the employee declined todo anything, visibly shaken he
reprimanded her for not engagingin a sexual act.
Lauer was fired from NBC.
Per a statement from NBC Newschairman Andy Lack, after a
woman lodged a complaint ofinappropriate sexual behavior in

(12:04):
the workplace against him onMonday evening.
Lauer had worked on theNetwork's Today show for more
than two decades and onWednesday was replaced in his
usual chair by last-minuteaddition Hoda Kotb, who sat
beside Lauer's former co-anchor,savannah Guthrie.
So that's how those two bitchesgot together, and this is kind
of again setting the tone forthe morning show, which is

(12:27):
Jennifer Aniston and ReeseWitherspoon.
I'm heartbroken for MattGuthrie said in the episode's
surreal opening segment.
I'm heartbroken for the bravecolleague who came forward to
tell their story.
Lack said in his statement thatthis was, to his knowledge, the
first formal complaint filedagainst Lauer.
Nbc did not immediately respondto EW's request for comment on
the allegations reported byVariety and declined to comment
for Variety Lauer.
Nbc did not immediately respondto EW's request for comment on
the allegations reported byVariety and declined to comment

(12:48):
for Variety.
Lauer could not be reached forcomment.
Yeah, because he was busyhiding.
Despite being married, lauer wasfixated on women, especially
their bodies and looks.
According to more than 10accounts from current and former
employees, oops.
He was known for making lewdcomments verbally or over text
messages.
He once said he he once saidmade a suggestive reference to a

(13:09):
colleague's performance in bedand compared it to how she was
able to complete her job.
According to witnesses to theexchange for Lauer, work and sex
were intertwined.
No bitch, keep that kinky shitto yourself.
Keep it to yourself herself.
The report also indicates thedramatic steps Lauer allegedly
took to protect himself frombeing reprimanded for his
behavior, such as quietly andinappropriately inviting women
to his hotel room whiletraveling and installing a

(13:30):
button under his desk thatallowed him to lock his door
from the inside.
That's insane.
The latter allowed him towelcome female employees and
initiate inappropriate contactwhile knowing nobody could walk
in on him, according to twowomen who were sexually harassed
by Lauer.
Variety says Lauer was firedWednesday.
Our highest priority is tocreate a workplace environment

(13:51):
where everyone feels safe andprotected and to ensure that any
actions that run counter to ourcore values are met with
consequences, no matter who theoffender Lacks said in his
statement.
We are deeply saddened by thisturn of events, but we will face
it together as a newsorganization and do it in as
transparent a manner as we can.
Motherfucker, where's thereceipts?
Produce the receipts, bitch.

(14:12):
I want to see this desk withthe button.
Not that Lauer's innocent, butI want to see everything.
That's insane, though.
He's like a fucking madscientist.
What did he say to hey?
So I need uh, I need somethingsecure for my office.
I need to feel protected in myoffice so when I'm changing I

(14:35):
don't want to feel likesomeone's gonna barge in.
Can you install a button undermy desk for that?
Like that's the most innocentrequest for a devious act there
is.
Like and if you ever saw apicture of Matt Lauer besides
his wife who wants that shit, Iwould report it to his ugly ass.
Not that I would accept it fromsomeone handsome, but, bro,

(14:58):
you're supposed to be mentoringpeople.
You're supposed to be a gooddude and just stand by your wife
and not go into crazy shit.
Like what is wrong with men inpower who feel the need to
dominate every woman's body?
You know like, can men andwomen really not work together?
Because it's what it seems like, not that there's women that

(15:19):
you should believe, because someof these bitches cry wolf and
ruins it for everybody.
Like fucking what happened withJesse Smollett?
That shit was crazy.
He claimed that two guys, andtwo black guys in MAGA hats,
beat him up, which isn't funny, but it's also a situation that
would never happen.
And it turns out that he liedabout it and, of course, other

(15:39):
black artists came out.
I think it was either NickiMinaj or Cardi B, one of them
saying listen, called them anN-word and everything.
I'm like you're making all ofus look bad.
What's wrong with you?
Like why even do that shit?
That gets you canceled, and Ihope canceling never stops.
It's the most entertaininggenre of time, I have to say,
because it hasn't ended.
I don't even know when itstarted, but cancel culture has

(16:02):
been one of the mostentertaining parts of my life.
Even know when it started, butcancel culture has been one of
the most entertaining parts ofmy life because we cancel shit.
We cancel people for liketouching their hair wrong or
like looking at them weird oh,they're canceled, fuck them.
That's like canceling is theequivalent of saying someone is
dead to them.
But then there's always peoplewho come back like fucking Ellen

(16:23):
trying to do this.
You know Netflix special abouthow she doesn't care, how
everybody turned their back onher and this and that Bitch.
Then why are you talking aboutit?
If you really want to move onwith your life.
You would just never bring thatshit up again and just be funny
, be funny bitch.
I was watching ArrestedDevelopment with my sister
yesterday and we saw Portia deRossi, who is married to Ellen

(16:43):
DeGeneres, and I had to tell mysister that.
And my sister goes what?
And I'm like, yeah, she alesbian.
And she goes, no, no, not thatshe's like, there's so many
better looking options out there.
And I turned to her.
I was like you are absolutelyright, you're absolutely right.
She looked up them together andshe was even like even Portia

(17:04):
de Rossi looks bad.
Now.
I'm like, yeah, bro, that'swhat happens over time when you
hate yourself for marryingsomeone who was cool in the
beginning and then, fucking, oh,loses their celebrity.
But yeah, so I thought that wasfunny.
Um, that we had thatconversation yesterday, that we
had that conversation yesterday.
Yeah, so the morning show isbased off this exact thing.

(17:27):
So Steve Carell is kind of semiMatt Lauer's character.
What they do is which I alwaysthink is funny with these shows
when a situation like that comesout and a show comes out
afterwards that almost exactlymirrors what happened, they're
like, oh no, it's not based offof that, it's based off of
multiple people who have donethat in the past.
Yeah, but you know what?

(17:48):
You're releasing it at a timewhere it happened to a specific
person, so where's our brainsupposed to go?
Where are we what?
What picture are we supposed todraw from, other than what
recently happened with MattLauer?
Because two years later is whenthe first season of the morning
show came out, and what's funnywas that shit painted it in

(18:09):
such a different picture and theevents that transpired that
whole first season.
It had to have been the craziestshow I've ever watched, become

(18:31):
an A herself, but still have tofight for it, if you can imagine
, which is what I mean when Isay like can men and women not
work together?
Because this whole thing of youknow, women having to push
towards breaking the glassceiling in this day and age is
really stupid to me.
Like she, she was just seen aslike the friend, like a sidekick
to Steve Carell, instead ofthem both being each other's
sidekicks.
Like, of course, when shit wentdown with Steve Carell, she was

(18:53):
like, well, I'm going to, I'mgoing to run the news and she's.
And they're like, well, who'sgoing to do it with you?
She's like doesn't matter, likeshe was so, boss, bitch about
it.
It was crazy good, and not fornothing, even though she her
face kind of looks crazy.
Her hair keep doing that.
Um, because her hair is herbest feature at this point,
because I don't know what'sgoing on with her face, but we

(19:13):
miss the old jennifer aniston.
I don't know who this bitch is,this robot with skin on, but
it's cool.
Uh, let me see.
So, of course, I went towikipedia to just double check,
you know, because wikipedia isso smart.
Uh, let's see, I love it.
The morning show, also known asmorning wars in Australian
Indonesia, is an American dramatelevision series starting

(19:34):
Jennifer Aniston, reeseWitherspoon and Steve Carell in
lead roles, that premiered onApple TV Plus on November 1st
2019.
The series is inspired by the2013 book Top of the Morning.
The show examines thecharacters and culture behind a
network broadcast morning newsprogram.
After allegations of sexualmisconduct, the male co-anchor
of the program is forced off theshow.

(19:54):
Aspects of the Me Too movementare examined from multiple
perspectives as more informationcomes out regarding the
misconduct.
Basically, she finallyconfronts him because she was
one of the people also JenniferAniston's character that didn't
pay him any mind.
So I don't know if anyone hadbrought this shit to her

(20:15):
attention and she just ignoredit.
But she finally confronted iton him and I think he admitted
that he had done those thingsthat he was accused of and she
was like so disgusted withherself I think she like went on
a hiatus after at the end ofseason one.
I think she kind of like leftand of course you know Reese
Witherspoon, who's recruited tobe the co-anchor again, who's

(20:39):
kind of problematic in thebeginning but like starts to
figure out where she falls intoline with it.
Um, she kind of has to like gofind her in like the woods or
whatever kind of has to like gofind her in like the woods or
whatever.
Oh, okay, so I do have somework stuff.
So I was laughing.
The other day Was it Monday?
I think it was Monday I was inoffice.

(20:59):
So I was in office Monday, tuesday, wednesday of this week,
like I usually am.
I actually made it through theweek, really wanted to leave
early yesterday only because Ihad a doctor's appointment that
I kind of had to.
I ran home and then went backout.
Should have just went home onlunch, but it's fine.
So this coworker was discussinghis marital problems from over

(21:19):
the weekend.
So this had to have been Monday.
So then of course, um, I don'thave any choice but to hear it
because it's it's very loud,he's very loud and he's very
loud and it's ultimately silentin the office because nobody's
in on Mondays.
So I was just laughing becausehe said that him and his wife he

(21:42):
was like, oh, she was miserablethis entire weekend.
So of course, the one loudbitch that's always there,
always talking super loud abouteveryone's life, she starts
talking to him, asking him shit, and of course it's always funny
she goes.
So what happened?
So he goes, everything was goodFriday.

(22:03):
He said Saturday was theproblem.
So of course we're like, pleaseget to it or at least I am,
because I would like to startthe rest of my morning after
this.
So he goes, uh, he goes.
Everything was good up untilsaturday.
So saturday, apparently theyhad.
He was like uh, they asked.

(22:23):
He, I think he asked what theplans were for dinner or
whatever.
Or they went to like a butchershop and they bought like seven
pounds of lamb.
I've never had lamb before, butI think seven pounds of that is
excessive.
Now, moving forward, um, he saidthey bought seven pounds of
lamb and they decided they weregoing to meal prep it out.
So they're like every time wewant to, we want some, we're

(22:45):
going to fucking just grab aZiploc bag and whatever and heat
it up whatever.
So of course he's like he, she,the wife asks hey, so can I,
can I use a blacktop, can I cookit?
And he goes yeah, that's fine, because if you want to take over
the blacktop, that's fine.
He said he leaves her to do herthing, like seasoning it,

(23:07):
whatever the case may be.
He goes out to the blacktop andhe sees that she has all seven
pounds of lamb on it, like she'scooking all seven pounds.
So he comes out to her and he'slike huh, and of course she
wants to know what the huh isabout, cause that's don't make a
noise by us if you don't wantus to ask.
And he goes I thought we weregoing to meal prep this.

(23:31):
And she goes yeah, I'm cookingit.
And he's like yeah, but Ithought we were going to like
meal prep it like free, likecook some of it, freeze the rest
of it and then you know, takethe frozen like Ziploc bags and
do that.
And apparently he said it allblew up, like, like it turned
into a whole big argument andI'm like, bro, he goes.

(23:52):
If we just communicated that inthe beginning, we wouldn't have
had this problem.
He's like, but of course, if Idon't say something specific, it
turns into an issue and I'mlike, holy fuck, you are the
epitome of a pain in the ass.
Like maybe just say, hey, whydon't you just plan it out
properly by saying, hey, are wefreezing it or are we cooking
all of it?
Because us women, we alreadyhave it in our head what we plan

(24:13):
to do and we kind of don't givea shit what the man wants.
If I'm being honest with you, like if that was the scenario
and we're going to meal prep it,when I think of meal prep, I
don't think of putting meat in aZiploc bag and then freezing it
and then having to redo it.
You know what I mean I would bethinking more of.
Meal prepping is where you cookeverything, you divvy it up and

(24:33):
then you reheat, like in anyother meal prep video you've
ever seen.
Like you just basically takethose.
So you would take the protein, the side and the veggie that you
put together.
You put it in the littlecontainer.
Yeah, seven containers full ofshit.
You put it in the fridge or thefreezer and whatever.
Then you reheat.
I would never freeze, though.
I think I'm just someone whoalways just refrigerates

(24:54):
everything.
Oh, excuse me, how do you want?
But yeah, I, I don't know whatthe argument was about.
But then of course you know I'mtalking to a co-worker about
this and I'm laughing and she'sgiggling and I'm like, okay, I
know why I'm laughing, but whyare you laughing?
And she goes I'm laughingbecause such and such is giving
advice.
And she's giggling and I'm like, okay, I know why I'm laughing,
but why are you laughing?
And she goes I'm laughingbecause such and such is giving
advice and she's been divorcedlike three times.
I'm like, holy hell, bro, thatis the craziest amount of tea

(25:18):
you could serve me.
I'm like drowning.
She's been divorced three timesand is giving this miserable
married man advice.
Insane, bro, it's the craziestwork ever.
It's the craziest work ever.
And then I sat down and Ienjoyed the rest of my day, up
until probably what time was it?

(25:38):
Probably a couple hours later, when said coworker well, he's a
manager when said manager walkedover to one of his people and
fucking decides to have aconversation with him and ask
him, um, ask him how he'sfeeling.
So I'm at the point where Ithink this man is a fucking
robot, because he talks in suchmonotone that, you know, a smile

(26:02):
only indicates if he's having agood time.
So, with the conversation or inlife, um, he said that he goes.
Oh yeah, I'm feeling a lotbetter.
You know, I think I had foodpoisoning or something he's like
, but I've never had, like, anykind of fever.
I haven't had a fever like thissince COVID in 2019.
But I think I'm okay now.

(26:23):
And then I also drove to mygirlfriend's school, her campus,
which is like four hours away.
So, all in all, I think it wasgood.
What are you talking aboutrobots?
What are you talking aboutrobot?
You have a girlfriend.
That's insane.
Is she a robot too?

(26:45):
But he's whispering like heworks for NPR and I'm trying to
listen to this story and he'sgoing on about this food
poisoning and this is exactlyhow the conversation is going
and nobody's answering him andhe's just kind of like, you know
, I wish I hadn't been this sickas I was last week.
He's like, you know, feverskind of suck Bro.
Enough Enough, dude.
This is the same guy thattalked me out of eating my food
on time and it cooled down towhat the fuck temperature.

(27:05):
Remember how I explained how Iwas trying to eat something I've
warmed on time and it cooleddown to what the fuck
temperature.
Remember how I explained how Iwas trying to eat something?
I've warmed it up and it waslike nice and hot, which is how
I like to eat my food.
I think I must be my grandmotherlike that, because my
grandmother always will eat hotfood and then complain that she
burned herself.
So that's me.
Not with coffee, though.
With coffee I wait, but I likeblow on it a lot.

(27:26):
I don't think my grandmotherbelieves in that.
I think she just likes to burnher mouth.
But like this guy, just this ishow he always talks.
And then he like stopped totalk to me again yesterday and
he was like hey, corinne, how'severything going?
And I'm like it's going good.
How are you Like?
You hear how I'm playful withmy shit?
Oh, it's, it's going good.
Um, I just wanted to ask howmany clients you received since

(27:49):
you started with us, how manyhave you received lately?
Or how many projects?
And I'm like cool, I have like23.
He goes oh yeah, that's prettygood so far.
He's like let me know when youget too backed up.
He's like because I'm trying todevelop a plan that's going to
help me audit and help otherreporting representatives work
through those roadblocks.

(28:11):
And I'm like dude, dude, makethis conversation go faster,
because I'm trying to leave inabout half an hour Because
that's when my appointment is.
So if this conversation is notgoing to cease in about 10
minutes, we're going to have somany issues and it's not going
to be what's wrong with him.
It's not going to be the what'sup with his voice.

(28:31):
Why does he always talk likethat?
You're not going to make it tothe next time you want to go
visit your girlfriend on campus.
Like, what the fuck?
Like, how do you do that withyour voice?
How do you speak with noinflection?
Like was he born and he wentwow, like that's it.
That's how he cried Wow, wow, that's it, that's all we got.

(28:54):
He got spanked on his butt bythe doctor and he looked at the
doctor and said why would you dothat to me, doctor?
Like, just like that.
Like just already born, grown,whatever.
All right, let's see.
I got one more headline and thenI think I might call it.
I'm a little tired.
This was a this, or I mighthave two more.

(29:15):
Um, this was good.
Father who stabbed his 14 yearold daughter to death during
kitchen play fight convicted ofmurder.
Hang on, you said what aboutplay fighting?
You said what about playfighting?
You said what about playfighting?
You said what about playfighting, because that's that's

(29:36):
crazy.
Simon Vickers, 50, was convictedof murdering his teenage
daughter, scarlett, at a UKcourt on Monday, january 27th.
What the fuck?
A British father who claimed heaccidentally stabbed his

(29:57):
teenage daughter to death whilethey were play fighting has been
found guilty of murder.
Okay, I clicked on another link.
We're going to go back to theoriginal article, though,
fucking shit, hold on.
It says on Monday, january 27th, simon Vickers, actually, let's
do the original article now.
Let's do the.
Let's do the.
Let's do the.
What the fuck?
First, father accused ofstabbing daughter 14 to death
during kitchen play fightreports.
Simon vickers, 50, claimed hewas just messing around with his

(30:17):
daughter, scarlet.
A court reportedly heard ontuesday, january 14th bitch,
what a father accused ofstabbing his teenage daughter to
death has reportedly insistedthey were just play fighting in
the kitchen.
Listen, I'm gonna'm going toread this first and then I'm
going to give my opinion.
On Tuesday, january 14th,teesside I don't know Crown
Court in Middlesbrough, england, heard that Simon Vickers, 50,

(30:43):
denied causing the tragic deathof his daughter, scarlett
Vickers, 14, who was stabbed inthe heart on July 5th 2024,.
According to Sky News, scarlettwas pronounced dead by
paramedic Andrew Crowe at around11.50 local time that evening.
The Guardian reported Vickershas denied both the murder and
manslaughter of Scarlett.

(31:03):
Defense attorney NicholasLumley told the court that the
father and daughter had beenmessing around together in the
kitchen in a normal playful wayat the time of her death.
According to Sky News, her bodymust have come into contact
with a sharp knife and shequickly died as a result of a
single knife wound.
Lumley told the court oh my god, this is making me so mad.
He, simon Vickers, will bearmoral responsibility for his
daughter's death for the rest ofhis life.

(31:24):
However, he denies completelythat he did anything unlawful or
deliberate to cause that tragicdeath.
Did anything unlawful ordeliberate to cause that tragic
death?
According to the BBC, the courtheard that Scarlett suffered a
four-inch wound to her chest andbled to death after she lunged
towards Vickers and the bladejust went in.
Okay, no, nope, but I'm gonnakeep reading.
I'm gonna keep reading.
I'm gonna keep reading because, for the grace of God, you're

(31:45):
crazy.
Her parents, vickers and SarahHall, also told police the
family had been throwing foodand utensils at one another and
mucking about while makingdinner at the time of the
incident.
They added that hall said thetragedy happened after she got
out a kitchen knife to cut upsome garlic bread and vickers
accidentally grabbed it insteadof a spatula.
Okay, you, um, stop, stop,we're gonna wait.
The outlet added that theparents said they didn't realize

(32:08):
Scarlett was hurt until sheyelled Okay.
Vickers reportedly told policethat on the night of Scarlett's
death the family had had a niceday watching soccer and that
they'd been drinking wine.
Per the BBC, as he was bookedinto Darlington Police Station,
he told officers we were justplaying in the kitchen.
One minute I was cooking.
Next there's blood gushing outof her chest.

(32:28):
The court heard that Vickersresponded I must be in his
police interview.
When asked if he wasresponsible for causing
Scarlett's death, the BBC addedhe also claimed Scarlett had
started the alleged playfighting that night by throwing
grapes at him.
Yeah, so let's throw a knife.
Prosecutor Mark McCone saidScarlett's wound was too deep to
have been caused accidentally.
Yeah, no shit.
The court heard per theGuardian and alleged that it

(32:49):
wasn't caused by a thrown weapon.
Lumley meanwhile insisted thatVickers had no wish or desire to
harm his daughter.
Lumley McCone and TeessideCrown Court didn't immediately
respond when contacted by peoplefor information.
Let's go with these comments.
Playing around in the kitchenshe threw grapes.
He stabbed her with a sharpknife.
Really you ever try to stabchicken breast through the bone?

(33:09):
It's very difficult.
You can't just push it in, youhave to hack.
Play fighting.
Throwing grapes is one thing, but this went way off base.
I never let kids or spouse playfight while I was cooking.
Hot stove, hot pans, boilingwater and knives were right
there, I will say.
Maybe the daughter stumbledwhen she saw the knife in his
hand.
He should still be charged withmanslaughter.

(33:33):
While play fighting.
She suddenly lunged forward andthe knife, just by coincidence,
happened to go four inches deep.
Yeah sure, I wonder if Vickershas any more bedtime stories.
What parents play with their?
What parents play with theirkid with a knife?
I don't buy it.
It was an accident.
Her body must have come intocontact with a sharp object.
Seriously, wow, yeah, you knowthere's so many things like when
I play fight.
I've never thought to do it ina kitchen.
That's the first thing.
The second thing is is that youshouldn't know the difference

(33:55):
between a knife, what a knifeweighs and what a spatula weighs
or just look at what you'repicking up.
It's really some common senseshit.
That really makes no sense tome.
He thought it was a spatula.
He can't tell the differencebetween a knife and a spatula
and there's no way.
I believe it wasn't intentional.
Do you know how hard a knifehas to be plunged into the chest
to penetrate the sternum thatprotects the heart?

(34:15):
Exactly that, bruh.
You don't have to be ascientist to know that he did
not accidentally do that shit.
Four inches An accident is like.
Oh my God, it's an inch, orlike a half an inch.
Anyway, let's go back.
On Monday, january 27th, simonVickers was convicted of
murdering his 14-year-olddaughter, scarlett Vickers, at

(34:38):
Teesside Crown Court in NorthEngland.
According to a release by theCrown Prosecution Service, which
handles all public prosecutionsin England and Wales, the news
comes after a court heardearlier this month that Vickers
had denied causing the death ofhis daughter, who was fatally
stabbed in the chest on July 5th, by the way.

(34:58):
That's like six months now thatthey're talking about this.
At the time he insisted theywere just messing around
together in the kitchen in anormal playful way.
Vickers had claimed that thepair had been play fighting and
jokingly throwing items at eachother while cooking, before he
mistakenly swiped a kitchenknife, which then hit Scarlett.
What is he?
An assassin, by the way?
You know how hard you'd have tothrow a knife to puncture a

(35:19):
heart like that.
After his partner called for anambulance, paramedics attended
the address and found Scarletton the floor of the kitchen with
a severe stab wound to thechest.
Despite their efforts, scarletttragically died from her
injuries a short time later.
Yeah, it hit her in the heart, bruh.
According to the BBC, apathologist told the court that
it was practically impossiblefor the four-inch deep stab
wound that Scarlett suffered tohave been caused by a knife in a

(35:41):
play fighting situation.
Forensic pathologist JenniferBolton concluded that Scarlett's
fatal injury must have beeninflicted by a blade being
firmly held and the kitchenknife would have had to strike
scarlet at a 90 degree angle topass through her pajama top in
the way it did.
Durham constable, constabulary,I don't know, constantly, I

(36:01):
don't care sent in a newsrelease.
The exact circumstancessurrounding what happened next
may never be known, but at about10 45 pm, vicar stabbed scarlet
with a kitchen knife, addingthat he had been drinking
alcohol and smoking cannabisthroughout the evening.
Scarlett's mother, sarah Hall, was arrested at the time of the
incident, later charged withmurder.
However, the charges laterdropped and she has faced no
further action.

(36:21):
Anna Barker, senior Crownprosecutor with CPS Northeast,
added.
Per the CPS release, theaccount provided by Simon
Vickers about how his daughter, scarlett, sustained a fatal
injury is wholly inconsistentwith the forensic evidence in
this case.
As part of our case against him, the Crown Prosecution Service
instructed a medical expertwhose analysis made it clear the
nature of the wounds sustainedby Scarlett could only have been

(36:41):
caused if the knife used hadbeen firmly gripped as she was
injured.
Yeah, bitch.
Yeah, absolutely accurate.
We've worked closely withDurham police to meticulously
piece together the tragic eventswhich led to yeah, absolutely
accurate.
Durham Constabulary whatever.
Detective Superintendent CraigRudd, why are there so many

(37:07):
titles for these fuckers inEngland?
Bruh, no-transcript.

(37:39):
Stabbing is so personal in yourface.
How utterly disgusting.
May scarlet rest in Jesus' arms.
Fucking.
Nevermind that last sentence.
Mind your business, you don'tknow, they believe in Jesus.
There's one kind of person thatwould bring a knife to a play
fight.
That's a person with a plan tokill their kid.
This is just sad.
She was so young and there aretoo many kids dying at the hands
of their parents or a familymember.
This is fucking so true, dude,so fucking true, that Gabriel

(38:03):
Fernandez shit broke my heart.
I could not watch that shitwithout fucking wanting to
wanting.
Oh my God, dude, I can't evenget the words out.
If the parents had not beensentenced to death row or died
in jail, I feel like I wouldhave been if I'd been in that
locality.
It would have been my personalvendetta to fucking make some

(38:25):
cyanide gum and be like, hi,chew this real quick.
Like, just slip it to him realquick.
Hey, I brought them gum, isthat okay?
And just give it to him.
Be like, chew this shit, bitch, chew this bitch.
And like, fucking go to sleepforever.
Because what they did to thatpoor kid, after all the reports
and after all the family, likethe rest of the family, was

(38:47):
trying to get him out of thatfucking house Like just just
fucking terrible.
Just please don't watch it.
This is not even a cry for youto watch that shit.
Please do not watch it.
That shit is so heartbreaking Ican't even imagine doing that
to a child or letting thathappen anywhere near me.
You know what I mean.
Like that's how angry I'mgetting Very, very angry about

(39:12):
that that the fucking systemfailed this child so bad that he
fucking died.
Do you know how many people fromthe fucking office like the
what was it?
Department of child serviceslike?
Do you know how fucking many ofthem were also held responsible
for that legally, like in atrial proceeding, for ignoring

(39:35):
all of the shit that theyfucking went to school to
protect and be certified for andlicensed in that state to do?
Like if you hear reports that akid's getting beat up or some
shit, and you check in and youcan see visible proof and you
can tell that the mother's highor some shit, and you let that
kid be there, you go to jail tooor you should be killed in the

(39:57):
street.
There's no other response forshit like that.
That's terrible people.
Sorry, I'm getting all kinds ofangry.
Oh, one last story and then I'mgoing to go for sure.
This was good too, because Ididn't know that this could
fucking happen that fast.
And this is like a good littlerule of thumb don't burn

(40:18):
yourself in the wild type ofthing.
Hiker's little burn from campingskillet leads to double
amputation, but he vows to getback on the trail.
Hey, how about you sit stillfor a little bit?
How about you sit still?
Good little story.
My stepfather plays hockey inhis spare time.
He's the one who is theleukemia survivor.

(40:39):
Knock on wood.
There you go.
Knock on wood, it stays thatway.
He went to fucking hockey and apuck went right to his left
left hand, I think, or his righthand.
Either way hit him in the hand, split his finger open and
fractured his pinky.
Like the pinky got split openand fractured in that one

(41:00):
instance, which I was like holyshit, what else do you want to
do with this sport?
Because I think that's enough.
In any case, I was like whydon't you just sit still, which
is the moral of this story too.
Just sit still, bruh.
At first, max Armstrong paid noattention to the little burn he
got on a camping trip.
The 40-year-old from San Diego, who now lives in Castle Rock,

(41:23):
colorado, had previouslysustained plenty of minor
injuries in the wilderness.
In 2016, he spent 151 dayswalking from Mexico to Canada.
I got a lot of cuts and scrapesand abrasions and little burns
and all kinds of things duringthat trip.
Armstrong tells people.
But while camping with friendson December 2nd 2024, he
suffered an injury that would belike no other.
I was just transferring theskillet from the campfire to the

(41:45):
table and burnt a portion of mythumb in the process.
He said it was a little burn.
I didn't think anything of itat the time.
Two days later, armstrong sayshis left ankle started to swell,
something he attributed togetting out of the camper wrong.
I just thought I twisted it Atthe same time.
The burn wasn't healing, armstrong tells people, even
though he'd been puttingantibiotic cream on it and
keeping it bandaged.

(42:06):
When he started quote-unquotetalking crazy in his sleep and
his toenails turned purple, Iknew I had to get to the
emergency room.
On the way to the hospital, armstrong checked his symptoms
online.
He realized he could havesepsis, a life-threatening
condition where the bodyresponds improperly to an
infection.
He later learned from doctorsthey believe strep A bacteria

(42:28):
had gotten into the burn beforehe could clean and bandage it a
small amount of time.
He recalls Once he got to theemergency room, his eyes started
rolling back in his head, hesays.
Doctors confirmed that it wasindeed sepsis.
By the end of the night I was ina medically induced coma.
Armstrong's mother, as well ashis wife, megan, stayed by his
side for six days.
As he remained in the coma heprogressed to toxic shock
syndrome and the body reallyquickly started to eat away

(42:49):
itself.
Doctors told them to beprepared for the possibility
that I wasn't going to make it.
When he woke up from his comaon December 13th, he said my
feet were black and felt likethey were being crushed.
Doctors started floating theidea of amputation, armstrong
says, but they would bring it upin passing, casually.
Still, I knew it was a thingand at first I was like no,

(43:09):
there's no way they're taking myfeet, he shares.
But when he tried to walk inphysical therapy it was so
painful that I started to comearound to recognize that the
feet weren't going to be anoption to keep.
His mom tried to show him thebottom of his feet to help him
decide.
My mom was taking photos andthey looked so black and the
veins were cooked.
They just looked like they'dnever be able to be used again.
He said it was a tough choiceand that's crazy, but it's like

(43:36):
below the knee.
It's like below the knee, midshin.
Armstrong says the necrosis wasgrowing.
If he acted soon, doctors wouldstill be able to amputate below
the knee, which makesprosthetics easier to use.
You can still control whetherit bends or not and you just
need the straight prostheticrather than something that's a
little more involved and alittle more expensive and a
little more robotic, he explains.
On December 2030, he hadsurgery to remove both legs
below the knees.
Armstrong, who's a therapeuticcoach for men who've been

(43:56):
released from prison through hisbusiness Raise Up Recovery,
tells people he came to termswith it as being a medically
necessary part of my journey.
I've seen the entirety of thisprocess as a spiritual journey.
He says this was just the nextstep in that process.
It was not something that Iwanted to do, but I knew that it
had to be done.
As he looks ahead towardrecovery, armstrong hopes to hit

(44:17):
the trails again with a14,000-foot elevation in mind.
A GoFundMe has been establishedto help him with the cost of
advanced prosthetics and to makeaccommodations for
accessibility in daily life, including building a lift in his
home and modifying his vehicle.
His attitude remains positive.
There's no question in my mindthat I'll be hiking in the
mountains by this time next year, armstrong tells people.

(44:37):
I really do feel like thisjourney was an opportunity for
me to prove to others thatthings can be overcome.
Until then, he says, I dreammost about just hiking around my
house with my dogs, just goingon a long walk.
I mean, sepsis, I hear, isfucking crazy.
I had a friend who actuallythought that he was going
through sepsis, so he made it,obviously, but it was like he

(44:59):
had it in his throat.
So I don't I don't actuallyknow all the specifics of what
came of it, but that was crazy.
And don't burn yourself out inthe woods because you can
apparently die from that, whichthat's kind of why I shared it,
cause I was like, wow, somethingso simple as that and not being
a contained environment whereyou know bacteria does anything.

(45:20):
That's like that stupid show, naked and afraid, with these
people who like lose like ahundred pounds because they're
not eating what they usually eat, which is garbage.
They're suffering from whateverthese bugs are carrying, like
some of that shit is so crazy.
Like the fact that it's calledNaked and Afraid makes people
watch it.
I used to watch it a coupletimes because I was bored, but
quickly changed my mind whenfucking it started to get really

(45:42):
stupid and repetitive.
But, in any case, I wanted tothank you all for listening
today.
Sorry, it was a short one, didn't make it to an hour.
I do have a meeting in aboutseven minutes that I have to
attend and actually speak on, soI wanted to make sure I at
least put something out for youguys.
That was interesting.
A lot of interesting stuffhappened this week.
I'll probably talk about theairplane crash next week if I

(46:03):

But yeah, so I love you guys somuch.
Thank you again for letting meentertain you for another week

Oh, also, we finally hit 250downloads on the podcast.
So, like I said, share it withyour friends, share it with your
family and, just overall, enjoyit.
I hope you enjoy listening tothese stories.
I'm trying to trying to includemore personal shit rather than

(46:29):
do news all the time, butsometimes there's just some
stuff that catches my eye that Ithink sometimes people want to
listen to.
Like I'm trying to get awayfrom the political shit, but, um
, I think a lot of what I readthis week was pretty interesting
, like the play fighting thing.
The most interesting part of itwas the double leg amputation
amputation that I read at theend.
Um, sorry that I can't speak,my words are failing me this
week and I'm still not feelinggood, so but thank you so much

(46:51):
for listening.
Really appreciate your time.
Love you guys and thank you for250 downloads.
