(00:00):
Hey everyone, welcome to Collective Chatter.
In today's episode, we're going to talk about the latest V
Friends Super Stickers box and some news from Throw, Joy,
Funko, and even Rocky Moto and more.
Can't wait to talk about all that.
Collecting is the way. Now let's chat.
(00:28):
Hey, everyone, welcome back to Collector Chatter.
This episode 145, I am mixed with Charlie and we have a
pretty interesting episode today.
We have a lot of variety that we're going to talk about,
right? A lot of good variety, all all
the major players. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Pretty much like one thing from each.
Person who wants to. Talk about essentially, yes,
(00:50):
these major companies and stuff which we will get into.
Like I said, it's going to be mixture stuff to throw Joy, the
world, Rocky Moto, there's some new products, new events, things
coming out. We also have some tops news that
we'll talk about later. Funko as well.
Something in a little collab that's coming out that's going
to be pretty sick to talk about, but I think we want to start it
off with big new drop that will be coming from V friends and a
(01:16):
hard drop, which I know you're excited.
I am very excited about this. These look absolutely fire, but
it is the latest in their super stickers series and you can you
can kind of get started and we'll we'll talk a little bit
about. That yeah, I mean, these look
absolutely awesome. I feel like it's going to be
their biggest super sticker set yet for the masses.
(01:40):
I mean, we've had in the past super stickers that there have
been these small drops where they've been at cons.
We recently had the manga seriesthat was a partnered with Steph
Curry. But this this is the big one and
this is kind of it's paying homage to the NF TS, the
(02:01):
spectacular series. Those are going to be like the
big chases that you're looking for within the set.
But we're also just going to get, you know, characters and
their normal super sticker form. But we're there's going to be a
lot of first in this one, which is super cool.
And like Mig said, you know, some for some people can get a
(02:22):
little confusing. I mean, at the end of the day,
these are these are like cards. You can peel them off and be
stickers, but everyone treats them as cards like in the card
world and then the breaker in the world and you know, be
friends. They like to say, you know, this
is like the original like Pokémon cards, like they were
first stickers and like other stuff.
(02:43):
They have done this before. So like they're really this is
really in dip in like the card culture.
But this is going to be available for pre-order this
week actually, and it's not going to come out until February
though. And the way it kind of works is
if you're AV friends NFT holder, you're more or less guaranteed
(03:09):
to get a box if you want. They haven't give all the
details yet in terms of like howmany are going to be able to get
per NFT and whatnot. But after that, they're then
going to open up to the an EQL for everyone else to get.
So definitely be on the lookout for that if you're interested in
these. And if you are any of our
listener who are V friends NFT holders, you probably already
(03:32):
know this, but you're going to have a good try to get them.
And yeah, I mean, I can run through some of this, but
obviously we're gonna I know we're both excited, so we'll go
back and forth. But they just had a whatnot the
other night where Gary and team like they dropped all of like
crazy news for this. And we're gonna one thing I want
to talk about first is we're gonna get this like new debut
(03:54):
sticker kind of for like what they're calling their rookies as
like, you know, you get the rookie badge on cards in the I I
don't know if people who collectsome of more of the, you know,
fictional characters like that is with the Star Wars Chrome
card, say, for example, it says like debut instead of rookie.
(04:16):
And they're going to be autos inthis.
There's going to be double autos.
There's going to be the comic book card.
They're going to be an autographby DJ Kaufman, who, you know,
shout out to DJ. We love him over here.
Collector chatter. We're getting another new
character name. I know some people who are
familiar with your friends know some of them had curse words in
the original names and tops Chrome for the bold is F bad is
(04:40):
now the bold is heck that, for example.
And now instead of the hot shit Hornet, we're getting the
hotshot Hornet, which was like abig reveal.
So obviously they're all being retired, but slowly.
And yeah, I'm gonna let me talk a little bit 'cause I know he's
excited about this too, and I don't wanna talk about it all.
(05:00):
Yeah, no, it was really cool to see.
So this set, this is kind of a debut for them.
They've done super stickers, butthey've never done specifically
like this spectacular series that they're doing.
And during the what not like Charlie was saying, we were both
watching and they showed off some inserts and like kind of
base card what it'll look like and like what a special 1 will
(05:23):
look like and some kind of colorvariations and with nice like
foils and stuff to them. So like that set just made it
look super sick. Like just what's going to be in
here and we're obviously going to get, you know, the OG ones
that we've already gotten in card form or super sick form or
in Chrome or whatever it might be.
(05:44):
But I love the whole little debut thing because that did
kind of start where like the first Chrome card that had the
ninja, obviously it was the one in the Comic Con that was the
first one. So then when we got the rest of
Chrome, it was like the first Chrome or whatever.
And that one wasn't because it, you know, it's not the first one
anymore, right? So now obviously with new sets
(06:07):
and I'm sure they'll do it againwith Chrome and going forward,
there's always going to be like a batch of of certain
characters. And this time it's 12.
That will be their debut. And like you said, you know, he
loves sports. So like the whole rookie
reference is perfect, but they call it a debut obviously of
these characters being in there. So there's twelve of them and
(06:27):
it's a mixture of characters, but it's obviously some big ones
and big names will pop up the pictures.
So you can kind of see a little bit of of the ones that will be
debuting, but I'm excited to seethese because it's new cards,
obviously Chrome, we know what happened with that.
It was a little crazy and yeah, now it's like near impossible to
(06:49):
buy that stuff. They're selling it including
straight from me friends at the like market price $700.00 for
hobby box, like 200 or whatever for like insane.
It's like it's insane. So it's just where it's at.
That's what's what sells for andthat's what, what the, you know,
market is actually asking for, which sucks for us who we want
(07:09):
to just try to get our hands on some of it.
This is going to be interesting because this will go through EQL
like you said. However, like the NFT owner
holders will actually get an option to get it ahead of time,
which is fine. They've always done that.
It's just obviously a perk to having that.
But even with the EQL, it's the most fair.
We, we've kind of missed more than hit on EQL.
(07:33):
We have for tops, for Funko for like different things.
But I hope that like we're, I don't know, I'm assuming there's
a limit to how many you can get.We don't know exactly the full
details, you know the price. Yes.
So I know the price, the retail price is going to be I think
$100 like 99 .99. Yeah, which is why I think they
(07:58):
originally went with Chrome as well, right, For the hobby box.
Correct. So just know that if you are
somewhat interested in this or even if you want to be a
flipper, you want to make money.I mean, they promote it.
So if you want to this. Will be a product.
That you'll be good. That if you go after and you
keep it sealed, it could be something that you know will
(08:19):
continue to rise in value and you can probably get definitely
your money back plus some. But you know, me and Charlie are
collectors more than that. So we're more excited to
Ritchie's open and see the different ones that we have in
autos and and you know the special stuff that that we're
seeing. But it does look like a really,
really, really awesome set. And like Charlie said, just the
(08:41):
30th. So Thursday that's the is that
the EQO or is that when NFT holders?
I know, I just saw that. I, I know that's what I ended.
T holders I think can get it. And I'm not sure if that is when
the EQL is as well. I don't know if they've
announced that yet or not. Yeah.
But on their page it just says like debuts particular series
(09:04):
10/30/25 but it doesn't say specific.
I'm assuming NFT holders probably can get it before that
because they would probably onlyannounce like the mass.
That is, that is. AQL.
So yeah, I mean, I guess we'll see.
I don't know if tops they'll. Probably send out another e-mail
(09:25):
like before it actually happens or it'll be all over their
socials. Yeah, but yeah, even a special
like there's one that's gonna belike fiery and ones like Diamond
ice, like they have like these crazy variations that just
looked pretty wild. They had these showdown cards
that look awesome, which like they showed off the ambitious
Angel versus the resilient Devil.
(09:48):
It's kind of cool. Like Gary is going to have an
auto card also with the Gary B character.
So he kind of joked like no, like he knows what the
autographs going to look like, but like they haven't shown that
yet because the one they showed isn't the actual card.
They had these haunted hologramswhich they said are going to be
(10:10):
their true Halloween characters.Like in the past they've kind of
bunched up a bunch of charactersjust quote UN quote Halloween.
But they said this is really going to be narrowed down to
what they really are going to going forward as the Halloween
characters. I mean, the box itself is
awesome. It's like they put so much
effort and detail into everything.
(10:31):
It's just like another great thing you got to love about few
Friends. And I think they said there's
100 characters in this set. And then though I know, I think
I heard 500 plus cards total, like with all the different
variations that inserts the autos, but like, I think it's
(10:53):
100 characters. Yeah, it's a lot.
Each one has a version correct color variant, whatever it is.
Like every character has one of each type of thing and then
obviously a mixture of other of other stuff.
So yeah, it's definitely going to be bigger because even in
Chrome, like it was limited to who was, you know, the kabooms,
(11:16):
It was limited to how many were of this like the different like
inserts and the big inserts. It wasn't really like everyone
had that. I think they only had the normal
and everyone had like a yellow version like which was like the
retail. So something like that.
But yeah, this is going to be pretty, pretty awesome.
I'm excited for it. Hopefully we're able to get
(11:36):
some. I did want.
This is kind of a little bit offtopic, but when you said it,
I've been thinking about this for a while, but I don't know if
you know why, but the the manga series one that they came out
with super stickers. Is there a reason why Steph
Curry is who like he like partnered up with them?
Because it seems very random. Like obviously we know he's a
(11:58):
die. Hard.
Very random I. So like, yeah, obviously Steph
goes huge, you know, it's cool, whatever.
But like, I just think it's, it is a little weird and he's like,
don't Knight or whatever. Yeah, don't quote me on this.
I think the company that they partnered with has some sort of
association with him and I just think they're, you know, I think
(12:21):
this was kind of rips pet project.
Like, he's a huge basketball like, fan in general, not
necessarily just like a die hard, like Gary is like only
Knicks. Yeah.
And I think it's just kind of anappreciation.
And maybe I'm assuming Steph Curry just said yes.
Like, for all I know, they, like, reached out to a bunch of
(12:42):
different players. Yeah.
And then they did make him the kind warrior character within
that set. Which obviously he's a warrior.
Yeah, I don't know. Yeah.
So they they never have actuallysaid and I don't know if it just
was just a business opportunity. They had a partnerships and it
was just easy as that where theykind of like sought Steph Curry
(13:04):
out. Yeah, yeah.
I just thought it was. It was a little.
Interesting. Because he's the only one is
like that. There's not like multiple
players. It was.
Only yeah, the one thing I foundweird about I did enjoy that set
and I was lucky enough to get some boxes of it, but it's just
also weird that it was a manga series with Steph Curry.
(13:24):
Like it was a weird set. I I like as much as I did like
that one. This one is so much better and
it's really going to feel like Ifeel like actually getting
cards, not that the other ones didn't, but it just felt a
little smaller where I feel likeit's funny, I was thinking about
(13:45):
this the other day. I'm assuming because of their
partnership with tops now they can't make other trading cards.
It's just going to be the Super stickers, which is like a such a
great, I don't know, want to sayloophole of a collectible that
they can make that it's still all different cards.
You mean like? Not with tops, correct.
(14:06):
Yeah. So they you don't think they
could do like a regular Series 3or 4 or whatever?
Yeah, I don't normal trading cards.
The fact that they haven't done it or talked about it, I mean,
it could just be a completely coincidence or they're just
focusing on the Tops cards, but I just feel like this, this set
just screamed to me like, OK, wecan now come up with another new
(14:30):
like thing for people that really collect with substance
that they're in control of. Yeah.
Because it's very obvious that they're not in control of their
tops product, which how you saidhow they sell it for market
price. And like, I don't envision I see
them selling these on their Whatnot show for like a fair
(14:52):
price. Maybe I'm crazy, but like I.
I think eventually it's going toget to where where everything
else is. I don't.
Think it's going to be insane. Like perfect example like the
other night like they were selling the manga boxes for
retail on their show like their individual packs.
(15:14):
I mean, they just picked a priceout of their, you know, Yeah,
ask for to make him a pretty sure they sell them for $15 a
pack. Yeah.
I was surprised to see them being sold for market for retail
though. I could, I mean, I could see
that depending on how I think itjust all is going to depend on
how this goes. Like what is the demand for that
(15:35):
is true, That's true. What are people, you know,
already selling because he looksat eBay all the time like what
is like, what is that actual value?
And then he kind of obviously goes from there.
But yeah, we'll be interesting to see when this drops.
Obviously, it's going to be a little while, like you said.
So it's like officially out. There going to get in our hands
till February. Yeah, which is that's, that's
(15:56):
interesting. That's so far out.
Yeah, well, it's funny though, they did that with the Steph
Curry ones only because I know, like I had ordered them in July
4th. It was 4th of July because I was
on vacation then I didn't get them for I like actually was
like, where the heck are these? And then also I was like, oh,
this is when they come out. It's interesting.
(16:18):
But one more thing I want to sayto that, because obviously,
especially after the last episode, we're talking about how
we've been getting more in the comics.
They did like one of the cards showed the next comic book,
which is going to be the about the Gary B character, which is
funny because like we kind of knew that was coming based off
that scavenger hunt. That was one of the stickers in
(16:39):
New York Comic Con, which once again, kudos to V Friends for
that scavenger. I thought that was so cool
because if you did it, you got alittle alpha and you found out
new things that were coming, andif you didn't, you wouldn't have
even known. So I think it's super cool.
That was very smart. So we do have some Funko news.
(17:01):
Funko, Jason, I guess kind of Funko we do, yeah.
So there was an announcement of a new project, Fred, that got
announced that will be coming out.
But it's essentially like a collab.
And it's a collab with Joshua Videz, who is a graphic designer
(17:23):
and most well known for his like2D art that he does.
He has a pretty interesting story.
He was a former firefighter and then he, you know, started doing
graphic design and he started working on like old cars, like
old junk cars or whatever. And if you haven't seen, he
(17:44):
basically paints them in like the black and white, like very
2D look. So like we were seeing it, it
looks like it's just like a flatpiece, even though it's like a
real thing, a real car, like it could be driving.
It looks so wild. So he's been doing that for a
while and pretty sick. So they have a collab like art
(18:06):
collab, I guess you could say very designer toy style of the
project. Fred with him and his like art
style of painting it black and leaving white and you know, the
Marks and everything making it look way more of the 2D style
and it's pretty fire. And not going to lie, I mean
like the project Fred mold, likeI've never like hated it.
(18:31):
Like I always thought it was a great mold.
Obviously certain price points never really made sense, but
mostly what they did to them andhow they painted and whatever
was what both of us really just didn't like.
And you know, slapping on a logomultiple times of a brand was
just like not that it just did not look good.
(18:53):
This thing it's pretty fire. It's kind of cool.
He's got glasses. He does the crown obviously all
painted. And like I said, like the design
just looks really awesome. It it screams like a designer
high end toys that way as well. But what was interesting of this
is this weekend that just passedit had a complex con.
(19:16):
So this was obviously, you know, dropping at complex con like
there and then on Monday, which you guys are listening to us
after that, but on Monday it's it's dropped on his site.
So Joshua B dez.com. So I don't know how many, I
don't know if there's ALE to this.
(19:37):
They haven't. Said I don't think.
Yeah. But if it's still available,
like definitely check it out, especially through his website.
If obviously you you're not at the complex con.
But what are your thoughts on this?
I know. I think we both agree that it's
a it's a pretty fire. Piece it's pretty sick.
I I like I weirdly do want it. It just looks so unique.
(19:59):
Like you said, this is kind of what they should have started
off this line with, like with partnering with artists like.
This. I mean this is night and day
then like the Sprite one they made for example.
Like how is this the same product?
(20:19):
I even I like this so much Like I feel like Funko should take
this and run with it even on pops or other things like when
they've always had those artistspops, they were not real like
this. This is a cool way of making
something new, unique and special that doesn't feel like
(20:41):
so mass produced. Which I mean, I understand
that's what Funko is, but I lovethis.
Like I wish the price point was a little cheaper probably, but
it's just super cool. I think this is a this is easily
the best Project Fred they've ever made.
I thought Project Fred was dead.Actually, when I saw this, I was
kind of surprised. Yeah, same.
(21:03):
But yeah, I only, I only have good things to say about this.
I think it's super cool. Yeah, yeah, I agree.
I mean, this literally is what an artist series product is,
right? Quote UN quote, which their
artist series pops never were. Like you've got some that
sometimes look kind of cool, butlike you can never really be
(21:25):
like, wow, that's artistic. Or that was an actual well known
legit artist that collabed, you know, like that never really
happened and this is what they should have been doing.
Like I agree with those pops andstuff.
They don't really need to do that.
I don't want them to do this over there now because it's kind
of like they're just working backwards at this point.
But you know, Funko just is in this world that just they're
(21:47):
just playing catch up. We talk about it all the time.
Like they're coming out with some pretty good ideas.
It's just they're almost like too late sometimes.
I agree. However, this one, you know,
still going to sell. I'm sure it looks popular, even
some of the other ridiculously looking project Fred's.
So so you know, it is what it is.
But I like this little collab and it it does make me wonder,
(22:11):
is this something that was just kind of a one off very random,
like just happened to, you know, get together with this guy and
be like, hey, you want to do something?
Or is this something that they want to work on a project wise
going forward? Which I guess we'll see.
Who knows? I just went to his website just
for shizz and giggles and you need a password to enter it.
(22:33):
Yeah, someone wrote that in the in the one of the comments
saying that like what's the password to the store, but I
don't know. Yeah, I don't know how that
works. So we never seen anything.
Which I wonder if this is super limited.
I would assume it is. Again, we haven't heard or seen
like an actual number, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was
(22:57):
because of course, why make it mass produced?
Yeah. You want it to be kind of
special and like, I don't know, we'll we'll see.
But it'll Monday, 9:00 AM is Eastern Time.
I think it was. No, I think it's actually Cali
time. 9:00 AM West Coast time, Ibelieve that is dropping.
(23:18):
But yeah, you know, good luck. Try figure out that password I
guess if I can get in. It's so funny the post doesn't
say a time. There's one post that.
Did. I can't remember, it's not on
his page. One of those diss trackers.
(23:40):
It might have been diss trackers, but.
Let us know in the comments if you're going after that's what
you think. Like do you think this is a step
in the right direction for Project Fred?
Even if it's cool, should Project Fred just be dead?
Like just let us know in the comments what what you all are
(24:00):
thinking. Yeah, definitely.
Let us know your thoughts for sure on this piece.
And yeah, the rest of them goingforward, but we'll keep moving
to another, another company thatis doing some, some big things
and it is our one and only RockyMoto.
(24:24):
The. Rocky Moto's back out with some
some news, little event and exclusive that they will be
dropping as well as they did say, I mean this is in a couple
weeks, but they will be at designer con.
So they're still really pushing out a lot of stuff about talking
how they're going to be there. That's November 14th to the
(24:46):
16th. So like that weekend in Vegas.
And it seems like they will havelike certain things and
exclusives. They're obviously the Godzilla
that we had talked about. The Rocky Chan will be there.
And, you know, other things little by little we're seeing,
we're seeing like a robot posters.
Like I think you have some of that robot figure something.
(25:07):
Who knows? But the latest was an actual
exclusive to FAO in New York City.
Yeah. Which?
That's kind of interesting that they're going to they're going
to partner there and this is going to be a Snoopy figure.
So what do you think about that?I mean the figures awesome.
(25:29):
It's Snoopy Dennis puffer jacket.
So they're they're using that mole, but it looks like Santa
Claus and it's coming in one of those key chain pouches.
It does look like this is a special 1 though, because it's
got like snowflakes on it. It's even they're kind of
showing that it comes with a Christmas tree tag.
You kind of give it as a present.
I would. The partnership kind of came out
(25:51):
of nowhere to me. I know we had been hearing that
they were going to be do something in New York.
And if I'm being honest, this isn't by no means what I
thought. I think you agree.
Like I, I think we thought they were going to have some sort of
like event. Yeah.
Like, essentially it's weird. Like, I don't know how familiar
you are with this mags or anyonelistening, but it seems like FAO
shorts of the past few years have kind of made a resurgence
(26:14):
in that store they built in 30 Rock.
And what they've kind of done islike, they just have like random
little like corners of the storethat are like something like I I
don't know if you know this, youcan actually make your own Funko
Pops there. They even have ones that aren't
like the HQ, you can kind of just take some of the pieces and
(26:35):
build something. Jelly cats, which are super
popular now, like these plushies, like they have a Jelly
cat section there where they have this special experience.
So like it's kind of cool that they're in like a really like
FAO shorts has that tourist nature again, like it used to
when we were kids, like before it closed.
(26:56):
So I feel like they're going to get some random traffic.
They're not just the people who are going to this event.
So it could help spread the word.
But then it made me think like, are they now going to be
selling? I think they're going to be
selling the cups of fun there for the holiday season or in the
future, at least the Snoopy ones.
I I don't, I can't see a world where there's having this event
(27:19):
there and that that's it. So that is cool.
It just stinks because I'm not going to be able to go to this
because I'm going to be busy because it kind of is coming
pretty quick. Yeah, you're going to be away.
I already have a prior engagement and like it.
It's funny, you said the day fordesigner con.
(27:40):
This is before designer Con so Ikind of wish.
It was the weekend before. Yeah, I kind of wish they were
doing something more deep in the, like, New York City
Christmas time. I'm pretty sure this is when the
tree is being delivered to 30 Rock.
Oh, really? Yeah.
(28:01):
So it's going to be kind of crazy over there All in all.
Yeah, it does celebrate the treearrival.
Yeah, it's just I'm excited for them.
I'm bummed I can't go but it's just not what I was expecting.
It yeah, it, it, it is different.
Obviously we thought it was going to be something else.
(28:22):
It essentially is obviously likea cool little, I guess you can
call it an event, but it really is just like a a sign, a chance
to meet Mike and have him sign. So essentially him just going
for a signing and they're givingout.
We're not giving out, but they're selling a an exclusive
product and it is limited. So it's only 400, which is very
(28:43):
limited. So that's an interesting thing.
So it's only 400 units of it, $20.00.
So pretty standard. And it's going to be Saturday,
November 8th. Like Charlie was saying, it's
Snoopy as puffer, which obviously is like the New York
Comic Con one that we got using a puffer jacket.
But it's like Santa Claus essentially, right?
(29:04):
And what you were saying is it'sgoing to come in that little
pouch, which they did kind of show those and announced those
that like San Diego kind of thing.
And it is limited. It is like more Christmassy with
snowflakes on it, with tag on it, all that kind of stuff.
So it is very holiday Christmas, you know, fits that.
But based off of their post, so it says like celebrate the tree
(29:25):
arrival with this limited edition Snoopy puffer figure
dropping 11 E at FAO Schwarz. So obviously the Christmas tree
is going to be there. It's going to people are going
to start getting crazy. Now, granted the Christmas tree
is not going to be lit. They'd like that later.
But you know, it's still a busy time.
People still go and like to be in that area.
(29:45):
You get to meet Mike and it doessay special signing score free
giveaways and enjoy other Peanuts activations happening
right in Rockefeller Plaza. So makes you think, like, is
there going to be another Peanuts theme thing going on
like at Rockefeller itself? Yeah, I wonder if it's for.
(30:06):
Anniversary. They're just.
Talking. Yeah, yeah.
Is it, Is it like they're just tied into this?
That's why the connection. It's not just going to be
rock'n'roll. There's gonna be other stuff
going on. That's kind of what it seems
like. You're also going to get a free
poster here as a giveaway, whichis cool that that's free, but it
is something different than we thought for sure.
And it's it's unfortunate that, you know, we still never got
(30:28):
them in New York Comic Con. So then we knew they were coming
to New York. Like it was going to be kind of
cool, but just not something that we're able to again, I'm
going to be away and you're you're not going to be able to
go. But it's not even something that
like we thought it would have been.
It's obviously cool. See, Mike, it's a sign he's
doing 1. He only signs one thing per
person. But it would be interesting.
(30:51):
But the product itself I like and I think I do like like what
they're doing and kind of how they are coming out with like
certain products and things. But it does seem like a lot of
it is still kind of slow and it seems like they're just still
finding their way to being against unless they're just
going to want to be this kind ofcompany.
(31:13):
Like maybe they don't want to dothe the throw joy route where
they're just like flooding us with a bunch of stuff, come on
with a bunch of lines and you know, whatever.
Like they're really just like slow playing it and they are
popping up at small little things here and there.
Maybe that's just kind of the vision and thing that Mike wants
to do. Hopefully it sound like a
(31:33):
negative reason for this. I hope this is just that, it's
just the way that they're doing it, but everything they've been
coming out with has been amazingand we still continue to support
them. Obviously, if you guys haven't
seen a short, Charlie ripped open one of their exclusive
Godzilla's, which are going to be coming out soon as well.
So that's another little news thing.
Beginning of November. Look out for that because that
(31:56):
whole set is like super sick. That set of sick.
And it's also funny I noticed. I saw, I think Gabby made a post
recently that the stupid ones were in box lunch.
So maybe they they're just they are just kind of slowly getting
new distribution. And another thing too that I
really want to point out about the Godzilla figures and you
(32:18):
know, you know, me and Megs havenever felt this way, but I know
some people have like kind of criticized the figures like how
they felt or with how they were made.
I don't think this is just in myhead.
Like the Godzilla ones are much more detailed and they I feel
like they're still the Rocky Moto feel, but they seem a
(32:42):
little more premium, which is kind of cool.
And I'm curious if they're just really are just still
experimenting with stuff, what works, what doesn't what do
people want, Which we appreciate, but I'm hoping that
maybe they ramp up for the holiday season.
(33:04):
We can find more of the like yousaid, we still haven't really
found any of the quote UN quote call series two Yeah, of like
their original characters. I'm I'm I'm still waiting for
them to allow you to buy them from their website because you
know, that is a section on the website, but it still says
coming soon. I'm yeah, but yeah, I mean, we
(33:27):
we just want the best for Rocky Moto and yeah, it's just it kind
of stinks We can't go to this event.
I'm just a little upset about it, if I'm being honest, and I
don't know why. Yeah, I had this like grandiose,
like thoughts that we were goingto get some like basically fun
days Christmas event. I would.
Have been. I could just, I could just
(33:48):
picture Mike being like Santa Claus, Santacons.
What they're really? Pushing, yeah, I mean, but maybe
it's I it's going to be. I just can't wait to see that
new Godzilla figure that's releasing at designer con.
Yeah, because it'll be interesting to see how that's
made like the designer con is aninteresting route.
(34:11):
Yeah, I'm looking at a few things because I, I know they do
specific stuff for a reason. So like I'm looking at some of
their their posts and like a lotof these little posters,
obviously they had the little like Halloween one that they
came out with Countdown to Halloween makes you think like,
OK, maybe something very Halloween is going to be coming
out specific that we still haven't seen.
Yeah, they had that one of adventures of Rocky Moto where
(34:34):
Leo's kind of like flying. It's interesting 'cause it's
like the little kid. Yeah, little kids like sleeping
with the dreams event. Like you're getting that dreams
thing and then you see the little logo.
But the one that I wanted to point out was the so the robot
one that they have, which has, you know, a designer con.
It's literally a figure you can see with an R on it.
(34:56):
He's a robot, whatever. Like it's just a cool looking
picture poster, whatever. Yeah, I love being.
But if you look at the Rocky Chan Godzilla, that logo of the
robot head is like what they're using on that poster or that
(35:16):
post. And we've seen that and that
post came out first before this.Oh robot.
So like. That is a good find mix.
Like obviously Leo in the face of Leo with a little like
freaking old like diner style hat thing is still like, I guess
(35:37):
their logo, but it's interestingto see that that new little face
logo is on there. And I wonder what that means
because that's actually on the the the card, the it's like I
like. The Chan put two and two
together with that. Yeah, Rocky Chan.
Like, is that the Rocky Chan logo?
Like when it's like they have Rocky Moto and Rocky Chan like
(36:01):
two different lines and that's the logo.
Did we figure this out? I don't know.
Like I know Gabby, you guys are listening.
What's funny, I'm reading, I'm reading now.
Mike commented on that poster with the robot.
Anyone ready for fun and innovation?
Question mark. Yeah, they're doing things,
(36:23):
really. They're social.
Media, we've said this in many times, really, it's amazing and
like they're PO like you. Said these little things.
Yeah, it's like maybe that is part of their master plan, which
is is way cooler than just telling you what it is.
Like, I think we just want more stuff.
But yeah, I mean, that is a goodcatch.
(36:44):
Makes that I'm excited to see now what plays out.
Maybe designer con. We're gonna get a bunch of news
about new stuff. Yeah, yeah.
Which I'm assuming that's what'sgonna happen, but I guess we'll
see. I mean, it's again, it's coming
up in a few weeks, but we'll keep our ear to the ground and
see if we can hear anything else.
We'll see anything else for Rocky Moto, but let us know what
(37:07):
you guys think about that. You know definitely comment down
below if you guys haven't already and you haven't liked
this video like the video helps us out, but comment we'll we'll
respond to you guys. What are your thoughts,
especially with some of the stuff we've already talked about
like this Rocky Moto drop in anything else that we talked
about before and anything that we're going to continue to talk
about. So we'll keep it moving.
We like talking about Rocky Motoand Throw Joy a lot kind of
(37:30):
back-to-back most of the time. We usually kind of each have
something that we get excited for or that you know is worth
talking about and Throw Joy now has something that I know I am
very, very excited about. They continue to kind of, again,
it could just be the time of year they continue, they
(37:52):
continue to really be putting out like horror, like nonstop.
And again, like I said, it's perfect timing, which makes
sense. I'm sure this isn't the only
thing you're making, but they'redoing it the right way.
And I kind of like this because it's like Funko tries to do this
sometimes and they'll do their like Funko Wien stuff and then
(38:13):
they'll do like during the summer they'll talk about stuff
and whatever, but it's a mixture.
And then you're getting a bunch of other shit too that comes out
like Throw Joy has seemed to kind of like really pace out
like what they're dropping and what specifically fits when and
when horrid and stuff. Like they've really been doing
like really well with this because there's a lot of old
school stuff north and they had the like perfect timing.
(38:36):
They have a Pennywise but it's from the IT.
Welcome to Dairy, which just came out literally.
Oh wow, I didn't even realize that that's.
Branded that way, it's not at the movie, it's this one from
the show. So it's like branded that the
show just came out. Timing is perfect.
That's a hot tub exclusive. That one's also out when the
show is out and that also has like the ultra chase, which is
(38:57):
really cool. So it's like a regular chase and
then an ultra chase besides the common.
But the newest, latest one that they talked about is adjacent.
And this is of course going to be again in the pic style.
This was one that we got in the old panoramic style pics.
(39:18):
Well, not this look, but it was a Jason.
Like we got a Jason, remember, he was like different look with
Frozen Chase and all that kind of stuff.
That never came out. No, no, no, the panoramics
wanted to come out. I don't think so.
Oh I actually know. Maybe they showed it after.
I know that the mega like the bigger one never came out at
(39:38):
all, which we were always wanting because it was like not
just. Never came out like.
It was going to be an actual one, right?
So, yeah, so now we're getting aJason.
So obviously I have the mold. It is different, though,
obviously. It's so Jason with the mask,
he's holding a pumpkin bucket, which is really cool.
So it's like perfect. Very Halloween esque.
You know all bloody red suit thechase it's got like a black
(40:01):
suit. This looks fire and is all
bloody, but it glows in the dark, which is it is cool.
I believe the first glow in the dark, the roll joy.
Is that right? Or at least for this pics line
I. I think there's another one
(40:23):
Glow. No, the only reason I think is
because I think I saw PRP make avideo calling that out, but this
may be the second one. Like there's not.
A lot, yeah. I'm trying to think it was the
other one because. Yes.
Let. Me see.
Definitely don't have many if. There are no they definitely do
(40:44):
not. Have either way like this is
sick that it's going to glow. It's fire, it's perfect.
But the way they're dropping it is interesting.
They are doing again one of those like what do they call it
like timed releases. It's not like 48 hours with a
stupid 48 hour thing on it. You know whatever it's like a
legit drop. It's just going to be for a
(41:04):
certain amount of time. It's starting on Monday, so
Monday the 27th at 8:00 AM Pacific Time, so 11 AM our time.
And it's going to run all the way through Halloween night,
which is Friday, of course the 31st at literally right before
midnight, so 1159 midnight but of West Coast time.
(41:28):
So on our end, it's going till 3:00 in the morning essentially.
But they're going to run it for the entire week and you can go
in and order and grab I guess. And it's like a fun way.
I like this better than like thetime day, 2 days.
I've been like, you know, one drop it for a week, whatever,
you get it. Yeah, it's obviously fits the
(41:49):
Halloween theme. It's dropping around that time.
He's got the pumpkin in his hand.
So really, really cool. But what are your thoughts?
Before I get my thoughts, so thenun glows in the dark.
OK, which is? Kind of a newer.
It is a newer 1 and it is a chase.
I think the chase is the one that glows in the dark like
(42:10):
super Chase and it says it on the seal, yes.
Which is cool. And then my thoughts on this
one, I think it's super cool. I'm not like the biggest like
Friday the 13th fan. So is the him holding the
pumpkin? Is that like actually from the
movie or they are they just making a Halloween looking like
(42:34):
mold? Do you know that?
I was trying to figure that out because at first when I saw it
quick, I thought he was holding like a pumpkin bucket.
I even said it, I think a few minutes ago, but it's not like I
was actually holding a pumpkin. And I noticed that afterwards,
but I don't think. Because like it looks cool, like
(42:58):
I if it's not from the movie andthey just decide to make like a
Halloween version of him. I think.
I mean it's super cool. I like it cuz you know, they did
make a pics of Jason like not that long ago.
It was a hot top exclusive. I wonder if that's what you're
thinking of. OK, so this isn't the first.
One, but yeah, cuz I remember wetalked about it.
That's what it was. We talked about it cuz I had
(43:20):
that picture cuz they did have apanoramics 1, which was in the
booth and New York. Yeah, it was in.
The display never came out and the chase was different.
It was like. It was.
It was. Yeah, it was a better like
looking Chase personally, I thought than the other one.
But yeah, I don't. I mean, there's, I don't know if
(43:45):
it's in the movie that he does, but either way, I think.
Actually, I'm going to get it. So what's funny?
Like what you said about like? I'm also not a big Jason fan.
Michael over Jason all day. Like that's my thing.
I'm not. I'm also not really a big Freddy
Krueger fan. Like I like them and like the
iconicness of them as a character 100% I completely like
(44:07):
agree with that. But movie wise like it's not
really my go to. But this mole just looks so sick
and it just like it's it's a nice display for her horror fan
or for Halloween or something like that.
And obviously the chance of a ofa glow in the dark 1.
You know, I'm not gonna pass that up.
(44:28):
That looks really cool too as well.
But but I agree, I'm kind of on your side where it's like not
the biggest Jason fan or Jason movies.
Friday the 13th movies, yeah. It makes me feel like that's
probably why they're doing the timed release because it is
something special for the for Halloween, which I do like that
they're doing that. So I'm assuming you have to buy
(44:50):
this from them then more than you're just not getting it?
Yeah, it's gonna be probably oneof those pre-orders.
They thought it should be if they're gonna do it like that,
they they shouldn't have it justup again later.
They generally seem to kind of stick to the like if something
sells out, that's kind of it. I think there was one time
(45:11):
something like the Art the Clown.
Came back up for. Like I think they put one up and
it must have soaked up to the one lucky person who got it.
But for the most part, like if it's gone, it's gone unless you
find it in stores, obviously, because the allotment of that is
obviously given out. But they kind of seem to like
kind of stick to that. Some stuff still up, but it's
(45:31):
because it just never sold, you know, or hasn't sold out, but.
Yeah, I'm the Super. Cool, I'm pretty excited for
this is it's cool and the same thing with the Pennywise, which
someone's going to pop in about topic.
That's that's one the art unfortunately I didn't get to
get. So I'm like, hopefully I see one
randomly. Those are ones that I I would
love to have to add to my throw jug collection but.
(45:55):
You got to go. I feel like you got to go to
your hot topic. I know I haven't been there in a
little while and like I don't even know when I'll be able to
go now, but I got to figure thatout.
But I think the last topic that we want to talk about was tops.
Yeah, talk about some cards and we talked a little bit obviously
(46:16):
about the V friends stuff, but this is more like sports side of
things cuz you know, we talk about them.
I mean, a lot of new drops have been coming out, some intense
ones, some that we can't get, but this is more of a mass
produce. Yes.
One, and this is going to be thetops NBA.
So the tops basketball is back so 2526 season and that
(46:39):
officially just came out over the weekend.
It's pretty popular, but it's going to be, you know, a mass
produced one that you're going to be able to get.
You're going to probably see tons of them, especially the
blaster boxes at, you know, yourlocal targets and Walmarts.
Whatever. The hobby stuff generally sells
pretty fast through top. So like if you you know that's
more guaranteed to get stuff. But the big like chase and the
(47:03):
big hit right now is Cooper flag.
Like Cooper flags, obviously. The big one, the big rookie.
He's on the cover of the box. Yeah, he's the cover of the box
as well. Cover athletes.
So that's cool. And a ton of people are already
starting to post like wild superfactors and out of fives and
autographs and stuff that they are pulling of this and those
are going to be like the the bighits.
(47:24):
But I haven't really gotten intobasketball cards per SE.
I want to say in the wild, I really stuck a lot to baseball
and then I dabbled a little bit of football, but it wasn't
licensed so I didn't like it as much.
But basketball seems like it's awhole nother world.
There's a lot of sets that come out, but I don't know if it's
something that you're going to be looking to grab.
(47:44):
I mean, Cooper flag stuff's pretty cool.
I mean. Yeah, I think I want to grab a
few just like blaster boxes, nothing crazy, just for fun.
And I like it because this is tops now has the license again.
We're like like I hate the we'vejoked before, but the unlicensed
stuff just looks so like stupid to me.
It's just it looks so fake and Ifeel like basketball is even
(48:08):
like that's one maybe could be one of the worst football you
think? Like football, Because a helmet,
it's like, well, it's funny. And it used to drive me insane.
But if you get like a direct shot, like a little player, you
don't see the side. Of the helmet.
Or it could be the Browns. Yeah, exactly.
The Browns, it's all good. So I think that's like, I also,
(48:30):
I think there's a lot of hype for this set because of that as
well. It's like, Oh my God, tops.
And I mean, we've always said tops is king, but it's like they
really now have gobbled up basically everything they need
the NHL and. There's no license yet for NHL,
(48:51):
yeah. So they come out with stuff but
just unlicensed. Tops doesn't make it's they
don't make unlicensed ones, but upper deck has like the license
to the NHL and their car, I don't know their car just aren't
as. Good.
Yeah, Yeah. But it's also super weird.
I don't know if you ever noticedthis, There's there's clearly a
loophole for tops now cards, because they make every sport
(49:14):
for tops now. Like they make NHL ones, they
make actual license and everything NBA ones.
But yeah, so that's why I am excited about this.
Yeah, yeah, it's it's a lot of hype around it too.
And you know, like I was saying, when there's like a big rookie
(49:34):
or a big chase to go after, you know, people will go Like now
when you see old sets of people are like, oh, I got, you know,
2014 set of this or 2018 of this.
Like the first thing you think of is like who was the rookie?
Who was the hit? Like is that a hot set?
Did these people pan out? So that's usually sports why is
at least what people look towards and that's kind of like
(49:57):
what's happening right now with with Cooper flag in this set.
But yeah, it should be it shouldbe fun to RIP.
Maybe I'll see if I've got and again, this is going to be a
little more easy and successful. It'll be something that you
could grab a blaster box or something here and there.
Obviously the hobby box is whereyou're going to really get the
good stuff and guarantees and things like that.
But you got to spend up and you know that deep into it.
(50:17):
Specifically with basketball andstuff.
I know they have a pretty sick Jalen Brunson cards.
I'm sure that would be a fire one to pull even even just a
common. So anything like that would be
would be cool. And then another little tops
news thing I wanted to mention because this was kind of wild.
I was looking at this before we we started recording.
I saw this and I thought you would think this is crazy too,
(50:38):
but it officially sold. So it was a 1977 tops Luke
Skywalker card. That's a Gen.
Mint 10 that sold for the highest Star Wars card ever.
Like an auction or whatever it was for $268,400.
(50:59):
Insane. Which is crazy like persons
house essentially towards this card and the previous high was
$100,000 for a Star Wars card and it was like a one of one or
whatever. But this is just like AI mean.
It's not I don't want to say it's just a regular Luke
(51:19):
Skywalker card, but it's it is such as just a regular.
It's not like numbered. It's not paralyzed.
It's like just a special card. It is today.
Yeah, yeah, it's like a nice special card of his.
But it is obviously mint, like it being from 1976, which is
crazy. Mint 10, like that's wild.
And yeah, it's obviously young Luke.
So what are your thoughts on that?
(51:40):
It's pretty crazy. It's it's crazy.
I mean, once again we talk aboutthis, the card like game is just
on like like people think, oh man, it's just crazy.
It's just nothing like the. The action, the money goes into,
some of these things will baffleyou if you have no idea about
(52:00):
this world or cards or just cards.
You just think that they're justlike, whatever.
When you see some of these numbers and things that stuff
sells for, or boxes or packs or sealed packs and things like
that, like it will, it's baffling unless you really
understand it. And even when you do understand,
like I said, we kind of know about it, it's still so easy to
(52:22):
think one individual card can gofor over $200,000.
And now it's become this thing where, like, businessmen are
investing in cards like, yeah, it's like this new.
Yeah, some of the biggest, like the new.
Sales in the in like full hardcore collectors with cards
with like jerseys, autograph. Things are like huge business
(52:44):
guys. One of them is like the owner of
the brew. Is it the Brewers?
One of the baseball teams? That guy is like a massive
collector. It is.
It is the rarest. He's the worst, Yeah.
Like he has some of the most rarest cards, rarest like
jerseys, things like that. And it's, I mean, they have
money, I guess. I know they're bored.
They don't know what else to do.At least they spend it on that.
(53:07):
Hey, you know what? I'd rather spend it on that and
collect things than gamble like some people are doing drugs and
crazy stuff that you could do right.
Unfortunately, a lot of these people there are getting their
gambling fix from cards. Yeah, if they, if they, well,
yeah, there's that side of things too.
People are buying stuff to make money and flip and do that kind
(53:27):
of thing cuz the market's out there.
But there are like, I think thatguy was one example is like
there's some like hardcore like they won't.
Sell even like they can get. Millions and stuff and they're
like, no, this is my stuff. I mean Sony.
Pass it down to your. Celebrities have done that on
Pokémon cards. It's like, yeah, they want
millions. They have the money.
(53:47):
So just like, OK, you're right, there's much worse things you
could spend your money on if youhave that kind of money.
I mean, if you have it, yes, I'mclearly worried.
We're never touching anything like that, but but it is
interesting to know that something like that can exist
and that you can buy a couple dollar pack or maybe a $1520 box
(54:08):
with a couple packs and you can RIP that one guy that just
happens to have it. And that's the whole like rush.
It's crazy of ripping cards honestly because I just ripped a
bunch of Disney cards that were Disney Wonder, which was not not
hype at all, but it was a cool set up with my daughter.
I got her a new little binder like a small one that fits like
(54:29):
4 cards on a sheet and we filledthat up with the Disney ones.
Some of my duplicate V friends that I've given her who put her
in there. So now she kind of feels like
she has her own little like that's the thing going.
But I I think probably by the time you guys are hearing this,
I should have gotten my Chrome delivered because I did get some
(54:52):
you should from finally. Because mine.
You guys just waiting? Yeah, I'm still waiting because
that I want to RIP, you know, because I know that a little bit
more high end, that's going to be fun.
It is, even though the wonder cards are really cool.
I like the art, but you can justtell they were.
Yeah, it's like the best way of explaining it is like those are
(55:14):
just like the base baseball set like Series 1.
And then then you get the Chromelater on, like even though it
was a reverse Chrome came out first.
But but I also think that shows like TOPS once again, now that
they have that license, you're gonna start pumping out
products. You're seeing that?
(55:34):
Different variations, different series styles and everything,
yeah. Which is good.
There's something for everyone. Yes, which they do.
They're I mean, look at a littleBoo Boo.
They're getting into everything. It's not just sports anymore and
it's exciting, something that wedefinitely will continue to
support. So I think that's gonna be it.
So yeah, a little short. Shorter than usual episode, yes.
(55:58):
Under an hour. So just right around that Mark,
so close. But yeah, a little tighter
episode with, you know, still some good topics and some stuff
that we were excited for, but wewould love to hear from
everybody else, you guys, on anyof the stuff that we were
talking about. Feel free to comment down below.
Love to kind of chat with you guys if you haven't already, you
(56:21):

So I'm going to be away. Just as a heads up, I'll be
away. I'm actually going to Disney, so
I'll be going to Disney. So I got a course of stuff down
there. Who knows, I might try to bring
my mics this time. I don't collect Lacana anymore
and I know they sell it there, but we'll see.
(56:43):
I'll figure out if I find something cool that we can talk
about. Well, then you're going to hand
the baton off to me, because when you get back from Disney,
yeah. I'm basically, yeah, I'm warming
up the the Disney seat for for me to come back home.
And then Charlie's down just timed so perfectly like that
that we happen to go like a weekapart, which is hilarious.
(57:07):
So yeah. So we'll be away for a little
bit and call this our little holiday break almost, even
though it's right before the holidays.
And then, yeah, I think we're going to in the month of
December, go hard with some somenew stuff.
