Speaker 1 (00:00):
So we got to bring in one of the experts
down to talk about the commanders potentially signing von Miller.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
We've heard all the reports.
Speaker 1 (00:06):
We think it's gonna happen, Sean. I mean, this is
a big name who has I mean.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
His resume is impeccable.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
We're talking about a future Hall of Famer. What does
he immediately add to this defense.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Well, one of the things we talk about on that
defense is brotherhood and bringing in a.
Speaker 4 (00:22):
Right chemistry and the right people.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
We talk about what Bobby has bought with his leadership
and with adding some of the young guys, and how
he's helped Frankie Lavou And when you think of von Miller,
you think about a veteran guy who has done a
lot right. You know, he was a monster at Denver,
then even later in his career as he went to Buffalo,
he's still productive. And I think the leadership from the
(00:44):
start is the first thing I think about. Adding another
veteran in our locker room and the defensive front that
room is just tremendous. To have a guy like that
with so much experience to help a lot of the
young guys.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Yeah, what does it do when you have another gold
Jack get in there besides Bobby Wagner. You touched on it,
but you walk in You're like, oh, this is how
we're doing things now.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Respect I think, I think, I think the word the
word you uses, respect and other things. James is when
you feel like you bring in a guy like von
Miller and people might question, like, well, he's he's not
the von Miller of Oh well no, no Hall of
Famer this late in his career.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
Is the guy we saw when he was getting like twenty.
Speaker 5 (01:27):
Sacks a year, fifteen sacks a year, but he's still
very productive and the respect that he that you will
feel from the team and what they give him.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
But mostly, like everybody in the league knows, a healthy
von Miller can show up in a big moment. He
might not give you fifteen sacks a year, but in
the NFC playoff game, he can give you two.
Speaker 6 (01:48):
Right.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
You know, you can make plays. He can make plays
when needed, when you need a big play.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
And at times last year I felt like we were
looking for that guy, and we saw versus defense, we
saw some players. You know, Mikey made some interceptions in
the playoffs, and you know, Frankie and Bobby and the
guys up front were making plays, but we were always
looking for who's that guy up front that can give
us that critical sack well we needed and that could
(02:16):
be Von Miller. That could be the guy we're looking for.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
And when you have a talent like that, I think
you put it perfectly like he's not gonna go out
and play like he did six seven years ago, but
in a big moment late in the game. How much
does that free up the rest of your guys on
your defense if maybe you can get a rush for four,
four or five guys up front exactly.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
Now you know you don't have to generate the rush
through pressure and blitzing and putting people on an island.
You know that Vn can make it happen to plans own.
You can sit back in a little bit more coverage,
you can play a little more to safety, high defense.
You can play covered two and Vaughn can make a
play and cover two. But the biggest thing is the
respect that you guys, it's Von Miller man like you're
(02:59):
playing against him. There's no tackle, left tackle or right tackle.
Young guard that's in the league who hadn't been playing
Madden or playing in the league or something. You see,
You've seen what this guy could do. So it's he
he earned that respect and he will continue to get
that respect and he'll make plays.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
And also how much does it help when you have
that familiarity? And I say it because Adam Peters was
in Denver when they drafted von Miller in the first round.
So I like that connection where the man running the
show knows exactly who he's getting. I mean, we all know,
but he especially knows Adam doesn't.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
Adam does, And what it shows is Adam as well
and do.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
Well, we're close and this is another piece that can
make THEE got Deebo Samuel offense and don't pick up
below Von Here a different guy with a skill set
here and there that can make a difference on the team.
And that lot of respect in the locker room like
he's been spot on, he's been in Washington.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
We we couldn't.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
I mean, James Daniels might have been the pick of
the draft, right, No one expected this guy to come
out and be a top five quarterback. And then picking
up Debo and Frankie Lavoux and free agency and Mike
Sandastril and you know Jones and free agent all the guys.
I mean, he's doing everything right and how you build
the team the right way, and he's willing to do
what it takes him and him and him and the staff,
(04:24):
they just they just dialed in together, man, and it's.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
A it's a it's very low risk, do you know
what I mean?
Speaker 1 (04:30):
This is not like a monster deal where you're bringing
someone you're effecting the cap. Like anything you get from
him at whatever this deal is is a huge bonus.
Speaker 6 (04:38):
At this point.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
It is a huge bonus. And that's where that's where
we are. Obviously, we we get some contracts that we
got to figure out here in Washington.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
But you're talking about a guy.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
That's the challenge is trying trying to figure out how
do we attract him to Washington because a guy like
bon Miller at this point in his career, because I
want to go play for somebody I know that's going
to you know, deep into the playoffs for the Super Bowl.
For him to feel like he can come here to
the Commanders and be part of this organization.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
I mean, he's.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
He's looking around as like, you know what I believe
in I see something in this organization. This is a
team you know, I want to go to like if
I'm if I'm gonna put my body on the line
this late in my career, I want to I want
to go try to get a ring. Right, So he
sees something in this organization, in this team and these
you know, these players that you know, he feels that
he can contribute to help win.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
I think that's such a good point because you know,
three or four years ago, he's not coming to DC.
Speaker 6 (05:35):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 7 (05:37):
No, no, not that, not at all, Like it's not
a consideration.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
And now it's, oh, I want I want another win
in a big game. Because we're talking about a Super
Bowl MVP. We're talking about a guy who went to
LA and got a ring. It isn't that the hope
here where he does for Washington what he did for
the Rams, which is make those big plays and lead
this team down the stretch, be a part of this
defense that hopefully still up this season.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
Exactly that. And he knows that he knows his role.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
And you know, you talk about low risk for the organization,
but that's a guy who understands that, you.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
Know what, my job maybe just come in and make
a player too.
Speaker 6 (06:14):
Here.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
It's not a lot of pressure for me, like I
got to lead the team. When you think about him
in his early years, especially at Denver, it was like
he's facing double teams, He's facing everybody, you know, slide
in the line his way. But now it's like, Okay,
I'm on a pretty good defense and there's other guys
across me. You know, there's some guys who can blitz,
there's some guys who can drop, there's some guys who
(06:39):
can cover. So I can get a little more time
in the back end. So I can just get in
there and make a few plays.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
And you know, if you look at his his time
in Buffalo not as productive. But also he was really
banged up. So I'm curious to see what a motivated
von Miller can do. If he stays healthy, then he
could really surprise us.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Well you think about it, you know, when you think
about and we go out to and we got training
camp coming up. But you go out to practice and
there's a there's a high energy, great environment to be with.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
Those guys are all over the place.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
But one of the things that I noticed, like, uh dq,
he takes care of the veterans. They know what they get,
you know, they do a wonderful job of just saying,
you know what, Bible, we know when you're out there,
you're one hundred percent.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
But does Bobby need to.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Go full speed every practice at this point in his
career or von Miller like, hey man, it's you know,
that's the sign of a very mature organization that's very
comfortable in their their scheme, their players, their locker room doors.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
I mean, I don't you know, it's just totally.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
Different seeing the this this organization in in you know,
in the last two years.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
It's it's crazy. So Von Miller knows, I'm going to
a player friendly.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Coach that's gonna look out for me. Man, I'm gonna
go play with d Q. Joe wouldn't know what it is.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
It's gonna be crazy to look out there and say, oh, yeah,
there's Bobby Wager, there's Von Miller, look at all these
young studs and hopefully comes together and this team makes
another run. We're about to find out here with training
camp get underway.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Man knows his defense.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
We had to get his thoughts on Von Miller and
the reports that's going to be a seat shaws Sean
got to see it coming up to get loud podcast
we will rank, or at least we'll just talk hate.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
I know you listen, we'll talk about the quarterbacks in
the NFC. We can do that. We got a Washington legend,
Ricky Sanders, the Possy, And since we're talking about receivers, might.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
As well throwing the best Washington receivers of all time
top five or top six's top six?
Speaker 2 (08:38):
All right, let's do it. How you doing, guys? It
is to get loud podcasts for anybody.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
See geek, the official primary ticketing partner of the Washington Commanders.
Find tickets to Commanders games and more at see geek.
My man, friends, move, How you doing, jeekes, I'm doing.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
How was your weekend?
Speaker 6 (08:53):
Bro?
Speaker 2 (08:53):
My weekend was great.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Spend some time with the girl, did a little pop
putt yeah, and then during the week went up to
Baltimore for a little cons like twenty four hours up
and back.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
You know what. That's what I do love about the DMV.
Speaker 7 (09:03):
If I ever miss a event like a concert or
comedy show, yeah, in DC, I always know it's gonna
go to Baltimore next, and I can always catch it
on the second phase in Baltimore Enrichment. So so I
always got a second way to do things, so I
never feel forced to do anything when it comes to
concerts and company show.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
What about you?
Speaker 1 (09:24):
I know, I saw your daughter, who looks exactly like
you on television.
Speaker 7 (09:28):
Yes she was, Oh yesp in two this weekend hooping
in the AAU tournament in Kentucky. It was good to
watch my daughter on TV. To see another smooth on
TV really did it for me. You know, A tear
almost came down my eye. I mean it just slow
motion down there. So just proud of my daughter doing
her things. And I just love what's going on with
the WNBA right now, like women's sports as a whole,
(09:49):
Like people not even talking about the fact that the
softball league just started.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Did you see that?
Speaker 7 (09:54):
No, they just started a pro softball league with the
best softball players in the world. My mama grew up.
She played softball every weekend play. Yes, she could play
in the Southball League is starting nine. I was like,
you know what women's sports is really coming into the
forefront right now?
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (10:10):
Absolutely, and well deserved and long time coming. And it's
like high level stuff.
Speaker 7 (10:14):
No, no, it's high level stuff. It's by time we paid
attention to the ladies sports.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
And it's not to happen during the summertime. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
most definitely because they get they get.
Speaker 7 (10:22):
The crowd to themselves, because you know, you have to
share with baseball. And I have to say this about baseball.
Baseball hot, it's fresh grease right now. This home run
derby is it tonight?
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Tonight? I mean this will air on yeah Friday, well Monday,
the home run derby.
Speaker 7 (10:40):
James Wood in that thing, and I was so mad
that the fans didn't vote him in first wave of all.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Yeah, it took the coaches to do it.
Speaker 7 (10:50):
Come on, Nationals fans, let's get it right. Let's get
it right. And we took a lot of flak from
the first round draft pick we did as Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
You know, I mean he went very good, just that
when you look at the projected topics, he was not
one of them.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
He's only seventeen.
Speaker 7 (11:05):
Yeah, he's only seventeen. But that's what baseball does, don't it.
They'd like to get you young, to have you more
years inside the system.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
R Yes, they do.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
Yeah, Well we'll have some young guys, we have some
old guys.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
We'll have some vets.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Yeah, guys in the middle of their careers right here
in ashvilld because I mean training camp. It's like you
said right before it went on, it's not here, but
it's here.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
It's here.
Speaker 7 (11:28):
Training camp is here right now, teams are finished, start
to check in. And once you check in, this is
what we did hate when we seen Hall of Fame
game on our schedule. Oh yeah, that mean you got
the first preseason game. Yeah, so y'all got to be
the first two teams to go to training camp. We
hated it. I bet like I know the fans enjoy
it because it's the first signal of football is back.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (11:50):
But to us, the veterans that the older players, we
see Hall of Fame game, we just shake our head
and I think we played in the Hall of Fame
Game three times.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Is anybody want to play that game? Honestly?
Speaker 6 (12:02):
All right? Put it like this.
Speaker 7 (12:04):
It's good because we back, right, It's good because and
plus now they only get three games, right, so that's
the fourth game, so it brings in a full preseason.
We like it because it's a chance to put on
their jersey again. It's a chance to get out there
with your teammates. But it's still preseason. You know how
it's Vitus feel about. You just want to get to it.
(12:25):
I want to get to the nitty gritty, right, I
want I want my tackles to count. Jeez, I don't
want my Like the one thing I always hated about
preseason games because I got a couple of picks in
these games and as I was running out, like it don't.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Count, it don't count. Like so I'm running with the
ball like it don't count.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
I We'll just run out, slowing down, sliding at the
twenty like, never.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Mind, it doesn't count. You know it looks good, right,
but it doesn't count.
Speaker 7 (12:53):
So yeah, we try to get through the preseason as
fast as possible.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
It's not one of our favorite things.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Well, when it's preseason, there's all sorts of rankings that
comes out and all sorts of lists like this is
less season, so it's.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
One the other. And guess what, I'm so just tired
of it.
Speaker 7 (13:09):
Like everybody comes with these artificial lists right.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
Right, Like even the NFL right now is counting down
the top one hundred players and they're releasing to a day.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
What are you talking about?
Speaker 7 (13:21):
You're slow burn and slow like Grady one, Yeah, my god,
like come on and in totality, you really can't rank us.
It's not an independent game. This is not basketball, like
Lebron James can affect the game more than Petrick mahons can.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Because if Patrick.
Speaker 7 (13:44):
Mahon left talk and left guard stinks, Patrick Mahon stinks.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Right. So every time when I look at these, when I.
Speaker 7 (13:52):
Look at them, I don't take too much from them.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
I really don't. Now I would.
Speaker 7 (13:58):
I like to guys positionally sometime, but other than that, no,
I just don't think it's fair.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Like what makes you a better corner than me?
Speaker 7 (14:08):
Is it the fact that your defensive end has seventeen
sacks in mine has three? Yeah, Like they don't make
you a better corner than me, but you look better
on paper than I do.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
So I don't know about this grating curve. I just
I don't.
Speaker 7 (14:22):
So you never see me turn in a list like
I never do list because I just don't think in football,
when it's twenty two people on the field at one time,
you could just be ranking.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
Be Can you at least rank the quarterbacks in the
NFC East if I had to rank them now? If
you had to, all right right now? The black You're like,
I don't do less. I's like, let's make a list.
Speaker 7 (14:45):
Let's make a list. Now you threw me right up
to the ball. Now he's making lists. I don't get married.
Now I'm married.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
I checked this out.
Speaker 7 (14:52):
The best thrower of the ball in the NFC East,
it's Jaden dang sure as the best runner of the
foot ball. It's Jade Danias. That makes him the number
one quarterback. The next is the Super Bowl winning quarterback,
Jalen Hurts. And you asked me, why would you put
this young guy before? I think I think Jalen throws
(15:13):
the ball with more precision and anticipation than he does.
I think Jayden is a more dangerous runner. He's more dynastic. Yes, yes,
uh he's not one sided? Is a bit at three
Dak Prescott, Yeah at four, Russell Wilson slash Jameis Wins.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
I love me some James, like, listen to me.
Speaker 7 (15:45):
I ain't love the player like this, since who listen Jameis.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
James actually is.
Speaker 7 (15:54):
They started in this league, legit started in this league.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
But he's just so ignorant that they don't want to
let him live.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
He just I've never seen someone who he is the
consummate brilliant one play, What do you think in the
next But he's I mean, it's like you'll see him.
He'll go for two picks, two touchdowns or three touchdowns,
no picks, next game, three picks, no touchdowns, Like he's
just all over.
Speaker 7 (16:20):
But it's five thousand yards like he gonna drop five.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Thus, Jay won't gonna put that ball out there.
Speaker 7 (16:27):
He reminds me of Brett Favre with not enough, with
not a long leash. Yeah, you see what I'm saying.
Brett retire is the all time leading interception leader.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
You know that, right.
Speaker 7 (16:41):
You know I've picked off Brett Farr more than I
picked off any quarterback in the league.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
Oh, I didn't know that. I picked him off.
Speaker 7 (16:48):
A billion times, all right, But Brett had a leash
cause you know what, he's a gunslinger and as a gunslinger,
he's going to make mistakes. They don't get James at leash.
But it's the same player. It's the same exact player.
And I think before this year over with, James is
gonna have a five six game start for the Giants.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
You think so?
Speaker 1 (17:10):
I think they want Jackson Dart to start so badly.
They reportedly he looked really good.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
No, and I think Jackson daughter it is going.
Speaker 7 (17:16):
To be a good player. Russell is different. Everybody knows this. Yeah,
James is more down to earth. So I'm thinking people
love James. I half seams like James is gonna have
the post of the locker room, if you know what
I mean. And that's a real thing. I've been in
the locker rooms where my rookie year okay, my store
on quarterback with Jeff George.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
But Tony Banks had to the heart beat of the
locker room.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
I started to say, because Jeff George was not, from
what I understand, incredible arm but people didn't relate to
him at all.
Speaker 7 (17:48):
Listen, I love me some Jeff George aka the General.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
Shout out to the General.
Speaker 7 (17:55):
I love Jeff George because he was the most nonchalant.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Quarterback I have ever met.
Speaker 7 (17:59):
In Yeah, coach Seattenhamen would call the play. I would
see the General look to the side with disgust.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
And change the whole play. No. Oh, yeah, that's why Tony.
Speaker 7 (18:14):
They put Tony in because I want you to run
what I called Jeff Joorye be like.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Nah, we ain't running that. Come on, guys, come on
down here. We're gonna run. But I say we're gonna
run like that was Jeff. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (18:26):
But when I say a cannon for oh my god,
can whip it, can let it rip, but fire this.
The only thing I think the general was lacking was
that true heartbeat of the locker room, like he was like,
I'm gonna come to work, I'm gonna do my job,
I'm gonna go home.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
Quarterbacks can't afford to do that. They just can't.
Speaker 7 (18:46):
Every time you see a quarterback be a long ranger,
he's probably gonna be a backup quarterback at some point
in this You.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
May not like it, but that's part of the job.
That's part of the job.
Speaker 7 (18:54):
Like when you sign on that leadership go with the
quarterback position. And that's why a lot of quarterbacks don't
how should I say, reach their peak because they don't
understand the leadership party. That's why I'm show like just
flabbergasted by what Jaden Daniels has done and his leadership
was like he don't go reaching for leadership, he goes
(19:14):
asking for it.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
And he's unnatural. Thank you. You know how some guys
just have it in them.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
You just gravitate to You're one of those guys people
just want to be in your orbit.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
And he's one of those. He's one of those guys.
Speaker 7 (19:26):
And they like where we're going with Chief, Like when
you look at a guy like that to say, Chief,
where we're going, we're following you. Like, it's so easy
when you got that guy in the room. And Mark
Brunell was like that. Mark was a leader just coming there,
you know, grabbed the locker room just like that. So
I had some good quarterbacks that they could lead by example.
(19:46):
I had some guy that lead with the voice. So
it's all different. And I found this tweet for it.
This is a wild tweet and is here.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
By the way, she has one. She's always here, She's
always here.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
Yeah, well, the Commanders have won the Super Bowl last
season if Jail and her it was their quarterback.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
No, we went and even went to the NFC Championship.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
No, he's not the games that JD five win, not
on his own, but pretty damn sure close to it.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
No, the guy we have is a better thrower.
Speaker 7 (20:13):
Nobody will will combat that, right, And what some of
the limitations we had last year, I don't think he
would have made them, not limitations like JD five did
like if I'm starting to call you a Jedi, right,
that mean you play a Jedi mind tricks on people.
That mean you have a special skill set that a
lot of people don't have. Right now, let me ask
(20:36):
you this. Let's put Jane Daniels on the Philadelphia Eagles
with the best offensive line, the best running back, A
J Brown, Devin Tate, Smith, Dallas Goddard.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
Do they lose a game? They would have lost one.
Here's the thing, here's the thing. They would have been
unbelievable with Jaydon. But when people say to me, and
you know this, if this I would have played on
this team, this team would have gone undefeated.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
Jimmy teams go undefeated in the NFL, just one one,
just one.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
The seventy two Dolphins, they played fourteen games, and even
the Patriots got beating the Super Bottle Giants.
Speaker 7 (21:11):
Man the pair of white legs? What if if would
Jayden be better at the test?
Speaker 2 (21:19):
Push?
Speaker 8 (21:21):
No?
Speaker 2 (21:22):
No? Do they need would they need to test?
Speaker 1 (21:24):
Push? I don't think they'd run it. Jaane's not big enough.
Jalen Hurts is big enough. Squad pass. That's where and
that's another thing where he fits into that Eagles offense
and that toosh push.
Speaker 7 (21:36):
I don't think they run it. Jaydon could hurt. Yes, yeah,
so I don't think they want because I don't think
they would need it, because I don't think they'll be
having many third and ones. They probably wouldn't quit Jane
Daniels because if you're running an RPO with Saquon Barkley
and Jane Daniels. Yeah, as a defense, who are we
(21:56):
stopping to stop one means to open it up for
the other one.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
Yes, no, I'm glad he's here. I mean Jayla Hurts
an incredible player. Yeah, but he also plays with the
most talent, the best for best roster in football.
Speaker 7 (22:12):
All right, what if we put my my bulldog brother
in Okay Dak Prescott on the Eagles? Do they win
the Super Bowl? Cheeks best office line bets running.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
They might.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
But here's the thing, in a big spot, can he close? Yeah,
like Dak has all the talent, He's been very good,
but in a big because Jalen Hurts was incredible in
the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
He was incredible in the loss.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
Yeah when they lost, Yeah, had that one fumble, but
he was still great then. But when the lights of
the brightest could Dak handle.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
It the coder. You know, I'm your guy. You know what,
You're my bull dog brother.
Speaker 7 (22:56):
I'm gonna go out on the line and say because
they got the best office line, because that defense with
Jaylen Carter, I ain't gonna tell you. I'm gonna say
Dad could have closed it.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
You say he can't.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
He probably could because he wouldn't have to do as yes,
like it ain't all about me.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
We can't running the ball. If we don't run the ball.
Our defense go out there and ran the.
Speaker 7 (23:18):
Game like they did in the Super Bowl, right, Like
the reason they made Patrick Mahomes look like a mere mortal.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
They made him look bad. They made him look like a.
Speaker 7 (23:29):
Mere mortal, and that because of their karsas city chief
offensive line. Like, so that's why I say when we
ranking players, is it really.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
Are you taking everything? Are you taking coordinators into account?
You're taking head coach. If Matt I refluses, my head
coach probably gonna.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Think, right, what about this?
Speaker 7 (23:50):
If I'm ranking wide receivers, how am I gonna beat
Jamar Chase? When Jamar Chase they had the same quarterbacks
since college.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
And that quarterback happens to be Joe Burber.
Speaker 7 (23:59):
Yeah, and they got a relationship that I don't even
need to wink at you to change the plot.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
By the way, you got your Higgins on the side,
just you know.
Speaker 7 (24:07):
Okay, Like yes, if somebody want to make that argument
about Justin Jefferson, and I'm like, man, you can't lose
with either one of them, right, So it's one of
these things. But it's like you said, it's ranking season,
so let's play into the rankings.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
Let's see what they got for.
Speaker 7 (24:25):
Us space bills. All right, I'm always good with paying bills.
That's why it's m w A A. We don't travel
to escape life. We travel so life doesn't escape us.
We dream of a place anywhere in the world. In
the blink of eye, we're there, Spain. That's the wonder
of flight. All you have to do is side where
to Dullis International Airport. Let your imagination, show a book
(24:47):
your adventure today at fly Dullis dot com slash none stop.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Now that we got that done, ye also shut out
to our friends of Cutwater as well. Hey, listen the
line Markarita, listen, I'm taking this with me. If you
don't take your I will take that. I'll take them
both home.
Speaker 7 (25:02):
I call it a cut day, A cut day. Hey,
when I'm drinking on my cut water, I call it
a cut day. My homeboy, hit me up.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
What you're doing. I'm having a cut day. Oh, I'm
on this cutty right, I'm on this cut ward. That's
what I'm on.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
We're gonna be cool right now because we got a
Washington legend coming in well.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
Proud of the Posse, Ricky Sanders.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
As promised, We told you we're gonna bring you a
Washington great yep, and we got one right here. Ricky
Sanders see two times Super Bowl champion member the Posse, Yes, yes.
Speaker 7 (25:31):
Doesn't get enough props for what he brought to the table.
I always been one of those guys, very French move like,
don't really get that, don't really get the fool love did.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
He deserves freaking thank you coming in on his brother.
Speaker 6 (25:44):
Hey, no problem, brother, you know anything for you man?
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Well, Ricky, you know, we were talking actually during this
podcast about how when you look back at the guys
you played with, obviously you remember the Posse and you
had your own piece of history when it comes to that,
but sometimes there's not enough footballs to go around because
there was just so much talent when you look at
the guys you were playing alongside.
Speaker 9 (26:05):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know you got a Hall of
Fame R Monk and another future Hall of Famer, Gary Clark,
and then myself. It's only one balls and Joe Gibbs
had a tough time trying to you know who to
get it to.
Speaker 7 (26:21):
Yeah, take us down through Hill, Ricky, take us. Take
us to the super Bowl because you blew that game
out the water. Take us there. Because I was talking
to Gary Clark and I was like asking him about
the slot position.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
You were playing slot?
Speaker 7 (26:35):
He was like, I think, he said, I think Ricky
was playing H at the time, h MAC at the time.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
What position were you playing in the Super Bowl?
Speaker 6 (26:43):
Pretty much? I played all of it. I played.
Speaker 9 (26:46):
I was x X Y Z H and I did
some of them in the running back position, so I
was all over the place.
Speaker 6 (26:57):
You know. I was a punk returner kick off and
I was like, oh goodness, but.
Speaker 9 (27:04):
My name was H back. That's what I like. The
slot position. And when I caught that eighty yarder, it
was out. I was out there in Z spread out
to the right.
Speaker 6 (27:17):
You know.
Speaker 9 (27:18):
It was a run play and Doug audibleed off into
Charlie ten hitch and that's mean, just take it to
the house. I'm gonna throw it up and go get it.
Speaker 6 (27:27):
And you know, eighty.
Speaker 9 (27:29):
Yards later, board I sprung the game. We started beat
thirty five points after that.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
Oh yeah, it broke the floodgates open.
Speaker 7 (27:39):
And that's why I was like, because I was trying
to go back and rewatch it and I was like,
I can't figure out what position they got him playing
right now. But but I think that what I think
made you hard to cover because you did play all
the positions.
Speaker 9 (27:53):
Yeah, because I could play H, I could play X,
you know, Z, and I would play out backfield, you know,
and come in so and they never could tell wh
where I'm gonna line up. So that was to my advantage.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
Ricky, What does it feel like now when you see
this team, you know, they they brought back the Super
Bowl era uniforms that that that you wore, and there's
a strong possibility they go back to the RFK side.
It feels like everything is coming full circle and you
were a big part of that.
Speaker 6 (28:25):
Yeah, man, I'm excited about it. You know, last year,
you know.
Speaker 9 (28:30):
The way the team played and went up there and
beat Detroit and Detroit.
Speaker 6 (28:35):
It's like, I think this year is gonna be a
big factor. Man. I think the quarterback. I love him, man,
He's smart and tough.
Speaker 9 (28:49):
You know, you got some good receivers with Terry and
all the other guys' strong.
Speaker 6 (28:55):
This year is gonna be a good year. It's gonna
be a could test.
Speaker 9 (29:00):
They got a tough schedule, but I believe this is
gonna be the year to get over the huh.
Speaker 7 (29:07):
Hey, Ricky, do you remember when we was in the
cafeteria and it was me and you Ark Monk and
Gary Clark sitting at the table.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
You remember the time I'm talking about.
Speaker 9 (29:17):
Oh yeah, you're talking when you're talking about your friend
that day one with you?
Speaker 7 (29:25):
Oh yeah yeah, when we was talking Yeah yeah, big
Daryl Gardon I was telling you about Do you remember
I asked you, did you think what would you think
happened if the posse with you Arc and Gary against me,
Darryl Green and Champ Bayley.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
You remember us having that conversation?
Speaker 6 (29:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (29:41):
Yeah, how do you think that would have turned out?
You think y'all would have topped us up like y'all
need everybody else for Wow?
Speaker 6 (29:49):
Man, I don't know how long y'all career would have went.
Speaker 7 (29:57):
I'm sitting here with myself and I'm trying to see
who I'm at up with, who I did well with
the taller receivers. So there's there shall I say. I
probably would have had to check Art. I don't know
how that would have went.
Speaker 6 (30:10):
It would be, man, that would be a good, good
contest right there.
Speaker 9 (30:16):
I mean you, the three of you guys are the
shoot out in my mind, hall of famers, all the ways,
hall of famers and great players.
Speaker 6 (30:27):
Man, you know, and and the defense there.
Speaker 9 (30:32):
If we would have played together, we probably got a
couple more reasons.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Oh wait to put us in there, because I ain't
even got a win ring. I ain't win. I ain't
win it in no way, Ricky.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
What's so special about being a part of of the
passe is that clearly always have a connection with those guys.
And you got to tell Art, I believe that his
jersey is going to be retired this year.
Speaker 9 (30:54):
Yeah, we went down and uh surprised him at his
home and uh he was excited.
Speaker 6 (31:00):
You know our never get excited, but.
Speaker 9 (31:03):
We had got a smile out of him and he
almost almost courzy.
Speaker 6 (31:07):
He say, you know, Reverend Art wasn't a cousin, but
he said, god. So, yeah, we had a good time.
Speaker 9 (31:21):
Man went down there and uh the owner, Josh Arsey
went and to do something and told.
Speaker 6 (31:29):
A lot about the field that Jersey come out. So
it was it was a good.
Speaker 9 (31:35):
Time man be down there with Doug Williams, you know,
Tim Johnson and Charles Man were there.
Speaker 6 (31:40):
So we had a good time.
Speaker 7 (31:42):
Yeah, you know, and that's been a long time coming.
You would think his jersey would have been retired. But
that's what I love about the Harris group and everything.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
That they're doing.
Speaker 7 (31:50):
They correcting a lot of rooms, and I think that
that was long overdue.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
And you right, Art don't really say much.
Speaker 7 (31:58):
Our cracker smile him the crack a smile at the
table down there when we was in the cafeteria, but
he rarely crack a smile.
Speaker 6 (32:05):
That's it, man. He's a good, big, good man.
Speaker 9 (32:08):
I was un fortunate enough to have him as my
uh next door. My locker was right next door again
when I came in, and we we uh bonded well.
Never never had any fights, never really, you know, We're
always was sticking together. M Gad myself. It was just
(32:32):
a great unit, you know. You know on my Monday
when you come in, everybody going up to Joe, Man,
why did you get the dog balls?
Speaker 6 (32:44):
And we on it too.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
Yeah, I can see I can see Coach Gill trying
to handle.
Speaker 6 (32:51):
All of out, trying to get anybody in the ball.
Yeah that did you play with, Joe?
Speaker 2 (32:59):
Yes, I I was. I was here for Coach Gibbs
two point zero.
Speaker 7 (33:02):
And the funny thing, I was one of the players
that kind of called him back.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
Into business and actually to come back a little bit.
Speaker 7 (33:09):
So yeah, I got a chance to play for the
great Coach Gibbs, just like you did. We ain't ain't
no Super Bowl though, Ricky, But I got to play
for the coach Gibbs.
Speaker 6 (33:17):
Hey, hey, just being around it, man, that's a plan
of that. Oh.
Speaker 7 (33:21):
Most definitely one of the best people I've ever met
in my life to this day.
Speaker 9 (33:25):
I'm telling you, man, he took me under his wings
man and just groomed and made into the person I am.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
You know, yep, same with me, Same with me, Ricky.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
What is it like when I mean, you clearly have
a connection with the guys you played with in the
posse and also your head coach back then. That's that's
a that's a rare thing in the NFL to play
with such a tight group that won so much and
a head coach and to revere them and have that
relationship that you still have.
Speaker 6 (33:52):
Yeah, it's you know, it's it's like family.
Speaker 9 (33:54):
You know every time we uhm home's.
Speaker 6 (34:00):
To the reunion, you know, family reunion.
Speaker 9 (34:03):
And everybody is respecting everybody and laughing and town and
all the bad times, you know. So it's it's just
like a family. I mean, yeah, there's nothing but love
between us. And I played on different teams. I played
in Atlanta in Miami and nothing to wash your redskin, commanders.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Yep, most definitely.
Speaker 7 (34:32):
Well, I appreciate y'all taking my young talen is one
of y'all. I feel good every time I'm around y'all.
I'm a big history buff, So anytime I'm around y'all,
you know, I'm picking your brain and I have fun
having conversations with you.
Speaker 6 (34:45):
Oh yeah, you know, you all you're already in the family. Man.
Speaker 9 (34:48):
Shoot, you should be on that uh uh out there
on stage.
Speaker 6 (34:53):
In a comedian that was laughing with that story with
that lineman. You had to, like you had to cook.
Speaker 7 (35:05):
For yeah, big big, yeah, big dare going the mood
in my house in voluntarily.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
You know it happened. I couldn't get him out of there.
He's six six, three hundred pounds. I couldn't ask him
to leave. Ricky, just get it.
Speaker 6 (35:18):
You just couldn't tell him go.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
Now.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
I couldn't tell him go. He had me cooking eggs
and greetch for him and everything.
Speaker 6 (35:27):
You need. That.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
Well, thank you for coming on with us, Ricky.
Speaker 7 (35:32):
Man, I know we had a little like trying to
have to figure some stuff out. Thank you for coming
on on the phone. Man, I can't wait the hell
you don't get loud again. Thank you for coming on
Hall of Fame.
Speaker 6 (35:40):
Thank you.
Speaker 9 (35:41):
And one thing I want to do. Man, you know
it's kind of taking on me. You know the posse,
You got a arty ring same. I'm the only one
that the posse that's still not in it. So I'm
trying to have to start advocating myself.
Speaker 7 (35:57):
All right, Well, how about I started advocating for Ricky
Saunders to be in the Arena Fame.
Speaker 2 (36:01):
We're gonna we're gonna get that movie.
Speaker 7 (36:02):
Maybe you should be in now, We're gonna do everything
we can to get you there.
Speaker 6 (36:06):
I love this man, hey, and I love you guys man, all.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
Right, love you brother. We get you in that ring
of fame.
Speaker 6 (36:13):
Man.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
Anytime you have a legend on the show, you always
learned so much.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
And like you said, he started this interview, the history
of this franchise is so great, so deep.
Speaker 7 (36:21):
And that allows you to like sometimes forget about a
greatness of a Ricky Simms and I had a had
a I was having a conversation with Gary and after
that super Bowl. You know, Ricky went off in the
super Bowl, all right, And he said when they got
back to practice, uh, the next off season, they called
because Ricky was actually not playing schlot receiver. He was
(36:44):
playing h back okay, And they called for the starters
to come out, and Art didn't move and Ricky didn't move.
Gary was the only one that ran out because after
Ricky had that Super Bowl show, they didn't know who
the starter was.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
So that's when coach Gibbs said, no, all three of y'all.
Speaker 7 (37:01):
Start now, and then started the slop position because Ricky
actually was playing h mec.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
I didn't know that.
Speaker 7 (37:08):
Yes, a lot of people don't know that I found
that out from Gary and Ricky talking to me about it,
and then boom, yeah, and now you got the three
wide receiver set in between. The only people that was
running the three wide receiver set at that time was
Washington in the Houston Oilers. Oh yes, Pywood, Jeffries, one Moon,
the rest of those guys.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
And this when the three wide receiver set really.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Became a fad, which was started the transition from like
a running back leader like a pass. Yes, yes, a
good call. Here's another good call. See Geek They have

ready to go.
Speaker 10 (38:06):
Ready to go, got the voicemail ready Only I only
have one concern. I think I might have like blown
out my phone speaker. I got caught in the rain
in DC. If anybody was in DC on Sunday and
there was like a torrential downpour, yeah, my my phone
might have hopefully, hopefully the water evaporated out.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
You could just tell us you got alf ohone, three,
I know it's it's one of the newer ones. I
got one last year. It's better. Okay, it's better than
what it was. You got the four.
Speaker 6 (38:37):
Basically, ooh, jing Anna.
Speaker 11 (38:41):
How's it going, y'all?
Speaker 12 (38:42):
This is Emmett and Kevin Froight here in nor Virginia.
We were just calling to say that we'd love the show,
and cause every single week we heard it on the
last episode that you guys shouted up some kids for
you and bounced that Duffy's in front of the LEGENDARYT
Doug Williams. And I want to let you know that
that was us.
Speaker 6 (38:58):
So reash back to this.
Speaker 12 (38:59):
Numbers should get all that more. I've talked about.
Speaker 11 (39:01):
We're super high for this upcoming season. In the watch
Jade prove all the sophomore something's wrong. Now, we just
got one question for Smooth. We've heard a lot about
these players wishing from offensive defense, like Mikey going from
another way around so smooth. Do you think that you
could have pushed the receiver during your career improved all
the allegations that corner are just receivers that can't catch wrong.
Speaker 6 (39:23):
Thanks y'all.
Speaker 10 (39:25):
Yeah, those are our fans who got who unfortunately got
turned away adoptees, but we think we found them.
Speaker 7 (39:30):
So you know what, Yes, yes, I could have played
wide receiver, because anybody tell you to able to play
with me.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
I had great hands like that. That was one of
my things.
Speaker 7 (39:39):
I played wide receiver in high school, went for a
thousand yards like I played I played. I played wide
receiver at Missippi State. I played both ways at Missisippi State.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
And didn't tanna play corner one time in high Yeah,
so yes, we could play both ways.
Speaker 7 (39:54):
If they needed me to be a receiver, who could
I save my career?
Speaker 2 (39:58):
Would have mimicked?
Speaker 1 (39:59):
Who?
Speaker 6 (40:00):
What?
Speaker 2 (40:00):
What type of receiver? Would I have been? All right?
I had?
Speaker 7 (40:06):
I probably would have been more of a a Gestion
Jefferson type red forever like arguably the best deceiver in
the game would be like Jerry right. No, No, what
I'm saying is the body type. Okay, I thought no
similar type. The quickness in and out of cut, the
(40:26):
fact that I had a parent style wise, I had
a pair of soft hands. These hands right here responsored
by pampers. All right, if you're dropping a baby out
of a building that's on fire, you want me to
catch paper hands, pampers hand drop him right here, right here,
and they love it, right here, love it, drop him
right here. So I don't say, yeah, I would have
(40:47):
been I think I would have been a very good receiver.
Speaker 2 (40:51):
Probably I've probably have been similar to Jimmy Smith. Oh
that's a good car in which I grew up. I
grew up.
Speaker 7 (40:58):
Jimmy Smith is from Jacksoniths, sim He went to my
rival high school. And when I when I did what
they called dream camp. Steve McNair used to throw what
we call dream camp every year where he would bring
all the NFL players and all this high school players and.
Speaker 2 (41:14):
They would go at us like we would go against
him on selm on self.
Speaker 7 (41:17):
Oh wow, And I'll never forget Jimmy was just rounding
me apart, and they was.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
Not easing up on us. Jimmy could play. They was
not easing up on us.
Speaker 7 (41:27):
But as a nineteen eleventh grade I'm like I'm I
get better every year I come to this camp. So
after Steve started throwing it, I started throwing the dream camp.
So tell you, like you never know who you touching fire,
there's a person and that what Steve McNair did for us.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
I love that when a pro like everybody thinks they
can play with the pro.
Speaker 1 (41:48):
I saw a video of Alex Caruso from The Thunder
just cooking people at like a local gym and they're
trying to you know, and I'm like, dude, this guy has.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
Last last dude on the bench in the NBA.
Speaker 7 (41:58):
Will work you work every of us, every person in America.
Speaker 2 (42:03):
He would give them fifty yes easily.
Speaker 10 (42:05):
It's so funny because Logan, I don't know if he's
told the story on Command Center pod about him. Somebody
asked him to play a game and they're like flag
Football League, Oh yeah, and like he crushed it and
he was like, guys, you have no idea how good
the people I play against are. Right when you were
coming out of high school, Fred, did you think you
had like a chance to maybe play wide receiver in
college or you just knew you were going to be.
Speaker 7 (42:25):
A deep No, I was gonna be a dB because
I did. Me and Towna talk about this all the time.
And wide receiver, my career actually leans who throwing me
the ball? And at corner I get to make my
own way. I get to control my own destiny. I
can't control my own destiny at wide receiver. So I
was like, you know what, I'm gonna be a hater
my whole life, and I'm going to be a cornerback
(42:48):
and I'm gonna control my own destiny. I'm gonna stop
wide receive for catching the ball because I felt like
it's more bad quarterbacks out there.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
Than good quarterbacks. So my chain, so landing with a
good one wasn't high.
Speaker 7 (43:02):
I had a good quarterback in high school and his
name was Fred too, so we's got it fred on
fred connection.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
His name was Fred Ishman, now Fred Smooth. He threw
me the ball.
Speaker 7 (43:12):
Every like he didn't he did not care. He made
sure the ball touched my hand. And that's how I
got fifteen touchdowns as a senior, like I can catch
the ball.
Speaker 10 (43:22):
Oh my gosh, Well you ready for the next But
that's a great I love that story. I think we
have a we had quite a few this week, but
all hit one more all.
Speaker 13 (43:31):
Right, three seven two thick smooth.
Speaker 2 (43:44):
Nice question for you.
Speaker 8 (43:50):
Uh, have you ever gotten goosebumps? Herery, I I had
your heart skipper beat all at the same time.
Speaker 13 (43:58):
Well, that is exactly rappening to me. When I saw
our current players, where I can our.
Speaker 8 (44:02):
New nostalgic uniforms.
Speaker 2 (44:04):
Man, let me tell you mediate.
Speaker 13 (44:06):
He took me back to my two favorite Washington games
of all time. Number two being the.
Speaker 8 (44:13):
Nineteen eighty two NFC Championship game against some our boys,
and number one the Super Bowl twenty two the quarter
US breaking Super Bowl records and of course Doug Williams
historical performance at QB. Now two of our games are
gonna be Sunday night football games. That's what we're going
to be wearing those uniforms. But that's gonna be difficult
(44:36):
for me because I'm a teacher and I live in
North Carolina.
Speaker 2 (44:40):
But I'm gonna make away.
Speaker 8 (44:42):
I'm gonna find a way to make it to those
two games. I'm already gonna definitely be at the Christmas game,
but I'm gonna find a way to be at those
Sunday night games some way, somehow. Until then, love y'all
see love.
Speaker 2 (44:55):
Your brother, hear from you.
Speaker 7 (44:57):
You know what those jerseys, you know, my rookie year,
we were the last to wear those jerseys, were the
last to wear those Ezach jerseys.
Speaker 2 (45:09):
We was also the last to do.
Speaker 7 (45:11):
Training camp in Carlisle that Mary shawnehin. The team was
the last to do everything traditionally, like everything traditionally. So
I feel like I made it right there at the
end of greatness, right there at the end of greatness.
So I feel good that I got a chance to
represent the past and wear those jerseys and represent the
(45:33):
great history of this team.
Speaker 2 (45:35):
And I can see he's right.
Speaker 7 (45:37):
I'm sure a lot of fans are going to get
a lot of nostalgia out of seeing those jerseys, war
By JD five and war By the new the new
lineage of this team. So I think, I think it's
all good man, and I think the jerseys are fresh.
Speaker 2 (45:51):
I got to put one on. I put the JD
five on. They just look right at the fields. It
feels right.
Speaker 7 (45:57):
It's like going to grandma house and you know that
kid had been there for like four months sitting there.
Speaker 2 (46:03):
But I'm gonna eat it anyway.
Speaker 1 (46:04):
You know, Grandma house ain't got no Jain, You're like,
you're sure good.
Speaker 7 (46:11):
We talk about stuff from the past that we had
no bins doing. How much bacteria was on the can Oh, god,
no telling. Your cousin just came over here two days ago,
probably spit all over it, like people probably.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
Put their hands in it, Like it's hard to mess
up hard candy men roll out the dirt and all right.
Speaker 7 (46:31):
I'm just saying, between that and the fruit cake, we
should have been ashamed of ourself, Like I just want to.
Speaker 2 (46:36):
Stay for the record.
Speaker 1 (46:37):
Is the first time in history anybody's ever transitioned from
NFL uniforms to fruitcake?
Speaker 2 (46:41):
You found away, my friend. No, it hit me, Jinx.
Speaker 7 (46:46):
It hit me that it's still going on, like this
is one of the few things from the eighties that's
still prevallege.
Speaker 2 (46:55):
It's people buy and gil. It's a guilt.
Speaker 7 (47:00):
Like if somebody walked up to me and say Mary Christmas, Fred,
he go fruitcake. I'm gonna say Mary Christmas to you too,
he go your fruitC back. I won't even touch it,
you can, I'm not touching it. That's useless, Like it's useless.
We're talking to Ricky Sanders. Yeah, right, So one of
the great receivers. I don't know, top five.
Speaker 2 (47:20):
Some people would say yes, some people say no.
Speaker 1 (47:22):
But if you were ranking or doesn't even have to
be a specific order, the five best receivers in Washington history, who.
Speaker 2 (47:32):
Would I have named?
Speaker 6 (47:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (47:35):
All right, the posse period, let's start there. Okay, there
go three? Okay, Ricky Sanders, cart Monk, Gary Clark, you
got two left already. I only got two left, okay,
And I might need to go back in the past. Yeah, Nope,
Bobby ain't considered.
Speaker 2 (47:55):
He was a tight end.
Speaker 6 (47:56):
All right.
Speaker 2 (47:56):
You don't gonna consider Bobby Mitchell. He a tight end
right receiver. See, Bibra was a hybrid.
Speaker 1 (48:04):
Well he and he and Charlie both started as running
backs correct early on, and then they transition to receiver.
Speaker 7 (48:10):
So Bobby got to be in there, so does Charlie. Right,
So then there's no Santana. Well, then there's no Pierre
Go song. I love me some Pierre Go song too. Now, Yeah,
that's hard.
Speaker 2 (48:26):
It's hard. That's hard because I don't forget about the past.
Speaker 11 (48:29):
No, you have to.
Speaker 2 (48:31):
The past.
Speaker 1 (48:32):
I know for a lot of people it's very boring,
I think, But the important thing about the past is
it gives you context to understand where.
Speaker 2 (48:40):
You are now.
Speaker 7 (48:40):
The best athlete to ever play for the Washington football team.
Speaker 2 (48:46):
It's semi boh. I'm not gonna disagree with you.
Speaker 7 (48:49):
Sad me By led the team in passing yards, rushing
yards and interceptions and returning yards in the same year.
Did you hear me passing yards, Russian yards, interceptions?
Speaker 2 (49:07):
Amazing? Amazing?
Speaker 1 (49:09):
Slinging said, you were giving me financial advice for I
need you to invest in more bonds. Your partfolio is
way too aggressive.
Speaker 2 (49:17):
I'm just saying, man, So I don't know, Man, I can't.
That's why I don't like to do list. Yeah, I
get that. That's why I don't like to do list
because one, I'm deep. I know too much history. So
most people be like, man, you ain't giving the guys
you know. I'm like, man, I can't.
Speaker 7 (49:35):
I can't leave these guys out of here. Then I
sure want to put Tanna in that group.
Speaker 2 (49:40):
That's true.
Speaker 1 (49:41):
So I got a five A and a five B,
and Tanna happened to be the five B. God I
get Tan in there working in the top five. Yeah,
it was awesome. What about your who's I might leave
Ricky out, but then again, he was part of the posse,
and all you have to take a look at the
fact that when you're playing with two other great guys
like that, there's only so I mean, yeah, so it's
(50:03):
like he was a huge also was huge in the
Super Bowl too, we're talking about that. I think you're right, man,
those are definitely all the top six guys. Right, let's
go top six and then you go right there with seven.
Pierre Garsol. That's my dude. I love Pierre.
Speaker 2 (50:18):
You want to get out, Hey, why not?
Speaker 7 (50:21):
You know the one thing I do a good job
to when I'm at home and I'm bored, jinx, I just.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
Go fact fact checking. I just go around.
Speaker 7 (50:31):
I go looking for stuff that most people won't even
read about, and I go read about it. Man. And
sometimes it's strange, sometimes it's good.
Speaker 2 (50:40):
You never know.
Speaker 1 (50:41):
You find some good stuff though, some stuff that we'd
had to triple check. Idiot.
Speaker 2 (50:46):
All right, this is in this is in honor of
training camp. Okay, all right, okay, this is on a
training camp. All right.
Speaker 7 (50:56):
The smell of freshly cut grass is a distress signal.
All right, It's the other grass one in the other
grass of intimate danger. So when we smell that smell
or that fresh cut grass, and we like this. How
smell is actually the other grass warning that it's finna
(51:18):
get clipped soon because it just got clipped. Do you
understand what I'm saying. Okay, I'm trying to follow here.
All right, all right, all right?
Speaker 1 (51:27):
When grass get cut, so this is the grass that
hasn't been cut. No, this is the grass that's been cut,
warning the grass that hasn't been cut. It hasn't been cut.
The intimate danger is on his way.
Speaker 7 (51:39):
And this the smell that we smell when we smell
freshly cut grass.
Speaker 6 (51:43):
Is this true? Yes?
Speaker 2 (51:45):
I am fact checking now.
Speaker 1 (51:47):
As soon as you said, I seago every every time, okay,
every time we have something it is.
Speaker 2 (51:55):
You're right, You're right, it's.
Speaker 10 (51:58):
It's it's plays a role in plant communication and plant
defense against herbivy herbivory. Yes, functioning as a distress signal, yeah,
warning other plants of imminent danger.
Speaker 6 (52:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (52:13):
Really, I guess so in some instances is a way
to attract predators of grass eating insects.
Speaker 1 (52:20):
Yes, So it's grass worn in the of the grass
like hey, just something's common.
Speaker 7 (52:26):
Just similar to lumberjacks when they cut trees. The trees
warn the other trees of intimate danger.
Speaker 6 (52:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (52:34):
What's funny about that is like, what is the grass
gonna do that hasn't been got?
Speaker 2 (52:38):
Like, well, it can't move. No, that's what I mean.
Speaker 7 (52:41):
But at least I'm signing this is telling you that
the earth is connected in ways we don't benefit and
we don't give it.
Speaker 2 (52:48):
What's the name?
Speaker 7 (52:49):
And I know I talked about this last time, but
I haven't got over the alcohol with a toe in it?
Speaker 2 (52:57):
Oh yeah that was or is that Canada?
Speaker 7 (53:02):
Yes, Canada with the sour told drink the sour toe
with a human toe in it.
Speaker 2 (53:08):
Listen, got a hold against it. Did something to me like, oh,
there it is. I've seen it.
Speaker 1 (53:14):
Oh that thing is right, that looks like Deon Sanders. Yeah,
give us see the picture of Dion's feet before he had.
Speaker 2 (53:25):
He gave me his cliques, he gave me his locker.
I have seen them bad toes one hundred times. Oh
my god.
Speaker 14 (53:33):
There was a time when I'm not kidding, his like
toe was on top of each other. They were top
of each other. Yeah, because he had turf toe too.
That what made him retire with the turf toe. So yeah,
most definitely. But if I want to know where can
I buy his drink and I want to know who
toe it is, I won't got.
Speaker 2 (53:53):
To be a story.
Speaker 1 (53:53):
Well, when you wrap up a show and talking about
Dion Sanders' toe.
Speaker 2 (53:58):
That's pretty much your cue right there. It's a good
laugh podcast. And we had a lot. Next week, maybe
