Actualmente, Esmeralda atraviesa por problemas de salud que le impactan su movilidad. Pese a los retos que la vida le ha presentado, Esmeralda se siente orgullosa de sí misma, de sus logros y nos enfatiza el valor que tiene el apoyo emocional de su comunidad
