Lord.

Lisa Brandis (01:35):
Welcome Annemarie to Connecting to Spirit.
I have been an admirer of yoursfor a long time.
I think I first read your book, the Grateful Three Approach to
Life, just as I was publishingmine and to actually have the
printed copy.
I'm so grateful I brought it onKindle initially.
Um.
And loved it back then and justrereading it.

(01:57):
I've been making little notesabout all the amazing content in
your book that I wanted todiscuss with you.
so firstly,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (02:06):
Oh, thank you.

Lisa Brandis (02:06):
to my podcast.
Thank you.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (02:09):
Thank you.
Thanks for having me.
It's an absolute pleasure.
I'm so excited about this today.

Lisa Brandis (02:14):
I know, it's amazing, isn't it?
I feel like every time we speak,I feel like, you're a kindred
soul, Annemarie, and there's alot of similarities in our story
that I think makes,

annmarie@annmarielo (02:24):
Definitely,

Lisa Brandis (02:25):
a, for an Easier connection.
right, so I wanna begin at,start at the beginning.
Anne-Marie, your story begins asa registered nurse and, you have
a really grounded, steady careerbased in science.
And one day something happenedthat helped you to realize your
path was going to change inquite a big way.

(02:47):
was there a moment or anexperience or even perhaps a
breakdown that cracked you opento the world of spirituality?

annmarie@annmarielord.com (02:54):
I wouldn't say there was a moment,
going through my life, likebeing a young child, I was
always aware of something, youknow, there's something
different.
I used to call it me, navy feel, and I'd feel it in my tummy.
And I'd also see like, I call itenergy spirals and my mom used

(03:15):
to say like, oh no, that's yourtemperature.
because I'd see these likeenergy spirals in the air.
And now what I know them to bewas spirit.
I don't see them anymore.
but going through nursing, Ibelieve.
That being connected to spiritand which I didn't really
understand fully at the time, Ifelt that it helped me do my job

(03:40):
and connect with people.
On an even deeper level.
but to answer your question, wasthere a defining moment?
Not really.
I feel like I was pushed outtathe, the nursing closet a few
times and I always went back in,you know, I run back into the
nursing closet.
Yeah.
So what I know and, you know, weall fear judgment and for me it

(04:05):
was, how can I say it?
it was a very.
respected role as a nurse, especially a palliative care
nurse and a woman carespecialist.
So to come out and say, look, Iactually see dead people, you
know, and I know this soundsawful, but I actually felt like
a lot of my hard work, what I'dworked for, and if you've read

(04:29):
my book, it was a struggle toget where I was, would've been
quashed.
So I was terrified to do that.

Lisa Brandis (04:35):
Yeah, a lot of my

annmarie@annmarielord.com (04:36):
Yeah,

Lisa Brandis (04:37):
the same way, quite often when we go deep,
it's our own self-judgment,isn't it?
That we have to face as well

annmarie@annmarielo (04:43):
absolutely.

Lisa Brandis (04:44):
to terms with, our own beliefs around spirituality
or being psychic or what itmeans to be a psychic medium.
When we can question that andfollow that passion, because did
you find it was like theconnection and the passion to
the spirit world was justsomething you couldn't step away
from, no matter how many timesyou tried it, like just kept

(05:04):
coming back and kept coming backand it's like

annmarie@annmarielord.com (05:07):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (05:07):
the shoulder.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (05:08):
Yeah.
it was like, you know, you aregonna do this, so just accept
it.

Lisa Brandis (05:14):
you

annmarie@annmarielord.com (05:14):
you know, it was like, not ready
yet, you know?

Lisa Brandis (05:16):
can,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (05:17):
it.

Lisa Brandis (05:17):
I

annmarie@annmarielord.com (05:17):
And trust me, I chose to go the hard
way, you know, but it was like, hello, you ready today?
No, not quite there yet.
so they kept pushing andpushing.
But one of the funny things was,I started doing readings for
like friends and family and Iused to say to them all the
time, do not tell a soul what Ican do.

(05:37):
Do not tell a soul.

Lisa Brandis (05:39):
they

annmarie@annmarielord.com (05:39):
And they'd go, okay, we promise.
Everyone, you know, absolutelyeveryone.
And it was, it was like, oh, butshe won't tell anyone either or
he won't tell anyone either.
And I was like, ah, okay.
And then I decided to step out.

Lisa Brandis (05:55):
you just have to, I was doing a radio interview
and I was asked to channelspirit and one of the co-hosts,
her mum's very religious, andshe said to her, mum, don't
watch today's episode.
And I said to her,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (06:07):
I.

Lisa Brandis (06:07):
Of course that means she's, you know, it's
gonna spark that curiosity.
And she checked in afterwardsand yes, she did watch it.
So it's

annmarie@annmarielord.com (06:16):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (06:16):
I always think That whenever we feel a little
bit scared about something or wefeel nervous, it's because that
is the path of our greatest joybecause we care about that thing
and we wanna do it well, and wewanna be the best that we can at
that.
And so the things that we arekind of like, eh, yeah.
Uh, you know.
hum about, they don't trigger usas much because it's not quite

(06:38):
the path of our greatest joy.
So I always think we have towrestle with that kind of, know
you speak about it in your book, just stepping outta that comfort
zone

annmarie@annmarielord.com (06:47):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (06:48):
need encouragement, and I know you're
great with, supporting yourclients and the students that
you're training also,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (06:55):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (06:55):
think that really plays a big part is, it's great
support, great learning, greattraining, especially in this
industry.
You know, we have to havediscernment as well to kind of
be able to filter not only themessages that are coming through
from spirit, but also, our ownmind and our own beliefs as
well.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (07:12):
It's not an easy thing to do.

Lisa Brandis (07:13):
No.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (07:14):
Even though a lot of people are
naturally intuitive, or naturalmedium mediumship skills,
there's a lot more to it than, than just being able to, to
connect with spirit.
and that I found not the hardestthing, but.
I think my nursing and helpedthe way I connected with people

(07:36):
in really, hard situations.
You know, with working inpalliative care for 12 years,
it's you, you meet a lot ofpeople.
Even though connecting, excuseme, with people through nursing,
then working in palliative caretakes it that step further and I
think mediumship even takes itthat step further away.

(07:57):
So, so it all helps whatever itis that you do.
It can help you.
if you are a medium or if youare intuitive, it can help.
rather than having to keep themseparate, blend it together, and
it will become your journey.

Lisa Brandis (08:11):
what I've always done.
And I teach my students that aswell.

annmarie@annmarielord.co (08:13):
Excuse me.

Lisa Brandis (08:13):
when they're learning spiritual development
and it's like, no, but you bringall of who you are to that
situation

annmarie@annmarielord.co (08:20):
right.

Lisa Brandis (08:21):
I would imagine the work that you're doing that
you would naturally attractpeople that perhaps have grief
or, going through differentstages of your life that you
have yourself been through.
we also can draw on our own lifeexperience as a way show of how
we've moved through some of themess that we all experience in
life.
And then we become aninspiration to others

annmarie@annmarielord.com (08:41):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (08:41):
that can be very valuable.
And yes, I know with mediumshipand spirituality, it's not like
the logic can just readsomething, practice it, rehearse
it, know it, it's a verycreative process that requires,
A sensitivity, but also justpracticing the skills.
Connecting often with yourspirit

annmarie@annmarielord.com (09:00):
it takes time.

Lisa Brandis (09:01):
And getting past the doubts

annmarie@annmarielord.com (09:03):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (09:04):
Because it, know, the

annmarie@annmarielord.com (09:05):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (09:06):
comes in through the imagination

annmarie@annmarielord.com (09:08):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (09:09):
it's quite a process.
So, what's some of the mostcommon signs from Spirit that
you've been shown that perhapspeople miss or some of the,
signals or symbols that Spiritcan communicate that can kind of
help people know that theirloved ones are around them?

annmarie@annmarielord.com (09:28):
I had this in one of my live events.
a young girl at the front, sheput a hand up'cause I have, I do
mediumship platform mediumship, but at the second half of the
event, I also do a questions andanswers session so people can
put the hands up or they can, they get a chance to write a
question and put it in this bigbowl that I have.

(09:48):
so it's quite an interactive.
event at the second half andthis young girl put her hand up
and she said, how come my nanhas now become a willy wag tail?
and I started laughing and Isaid, your nan has not become a
Willy Wag tail.
What we do is we associate soyour loved ones don't become

(10:10):
butterflies.
They don't become dragonflies.
They don't become willyWagtails.
What I believe happens, and I'vebeen shown this from Spirit, is.
That when we think about ourloved ones, we think about them
and then we, we will see a WillyWag tail.
So then that connection is made.
That and spirit are very, veryclever.

(10:32):
Obviously they've got superpowers now, if you like, lot
more powers than we had when wewere down here incarnated into
this life.
And what happens is every timewe.
Think about them.
We see this Willy Wagtail, andthen it becomes reverse because
then spirit think, okay, youknow, she needs my help today.

(10:53):
Right.
Where's the Willy Wag tail?
You know, and the bird will comein, and as the bird comes in, it
means your loved ones is around, because that's when you think of
your loved one.
So your loved one hasn't becomea, a bird.
Your loved one is around whenyou see that bird.
And that's how, like, you know,I could talk about manipulating

(11:15):
music so that you,

Lisa Brandis (11:17):
happen

annmarie@annmarielord.com (11:17):
hear it on the radio?

Lisa Brandis (11:18):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.co (11:19):
people say to me, how is it just at the
right time that that song comeson the radio?
And I says, well, think aboutit.
When we go to the spirit world, everything is omnipresent.
And what I mean by that isthere's no time, you know,
everything is in the now.
There's no future.
There's no past.
Everything is now.
They haven't, the radio is goingto happen anyway.

(11:40):
They haven't manipulated time.
Time is happening anyway, ifthat makes sense.

Lisa Brandis (11:47):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (11:48):
when you are in and that song was
gonna come on anyway, it's likebeing aligned because there's no
future time and there's no pasttime in their time.

Lisa Brandis (11:59):
Yeah,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (11:59):
does that make sense?

Lisa Brandis (12:00):
about the feeling that resonates when they come
close to us.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (12:05):
Yeah,

Lisa Brandis (12:05):
you know,

annmarie@annmarielord.co (12:06):
that's right.

Lisa Brandis (12:07):
positive

annmarie@annmarielord.com (12:07):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (12:08):
and a connection to them that we feel that
resonance and it's all energyit's all vibration and
frequency.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (12:14):
And the other thing is, is you've
got to, and this is what I tellmy students all the time on my
podcast listeners, when you hearor when you see that bird or you
hear that music, use that sign.
That's a really beautiful sign.

Lisa Brandis (12:30):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (12:31):
Think of what's going on in your life
at that moment,

Lisa Brandis (12:34):
Check

annmarie@annmarielord.com (12:35):
know,

Lisa Brandis (12:35):
Hmm.

annmarie@annmarielord.co (12:36):
that's worring you and yet

Lisa Brandis (12:38):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (12:38):
Have you got an interview?
have you got something to write?
have you got something that'sgoing on in your life because
your spirits are trying to giveyou a little, hello, I'm with
you.
You've got this.
Do you know what I mean?
and we miss that so much

Lisa Brandis (12:53):
so busy in

annmarie@annmarielord.com (12:54):
and I think that's quite sad.

Lisa Brandis (12:55):
quite often so busy thinking, and it's like, I
love what you're suggestingthere, Annemarie, just to stop
what you're doing.
As long as you're not drivingand check in, and even just a
general statement like, what doyou want me to know right now?
And then wait and listen to justsee what thoughts come in.
And, you know, I think

annmarie@annmarielord.com (13:11):
Yeah,

Lisa Brandis (13:12):
Spirit team are whispering to us all day long.
Every day.
They're always there, alwaysloving us.

annmarie@annmarielo (13:17):
absolutely.

Lisa Brandis (13:18):
that we check in

annmarie@annmarielord.com (13:19):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (13:20):
And I think with teaching as you do as well, we
are teaching people to createmore opportunity for that.
Deep, profound connection thatcomes from within that.
So needed right now.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (13:31):
Ev.
That's right.
And everyone wants stuffquickly.
Everyone wants answers quickly.
Now, you mentioned there veryquickly, you said, as long as
you're not driving.
But even that, think if you arein the car and something comes
on the radio.
Where are you going?

Lisa Brandis (13:47):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (13:47):
you going to an interview?
Are you starting a new job?
Are you going on a date?
Think of where you're going andwhat you're doing, because that
just might be their way ofsaying, we've got you.

Lisa Brandis (13:58):
we're

annmarie@annmarielord.com (13:58):
And that's it.

Lisa Brandis (13:59):
And

annmarie@annmarielord.com (14:00):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (14:00):
confirmation, isn't it?
And just that support, that

annmarie@annmarielord.com (14:03):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (14:04):
which we can get with like-minded people when we
connect with people that knowwho we are and an encouraging of
what it is that we are doing, especially when we are venturing
into the spirit realm, but alsoknowing that we've got a whole
angelic team and spirit teamthat's here to encourage us and
to help us to navigate life.
And, and I find, the challengesis trusting in that innate

(14:25):
knowing and trusting in themessages that we receive.
And when we do that, life justgets

annmarie@annmarielord.com (14:30):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (14:30):
easier, doesn't it?
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (14:33):
yeah,

Lisa Brandis (14:33):
really,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (14:34):
You know, life can be hard
sometimes, but if you can have away of knowing that and knowing
you're not alone, Walking thepath with somebody or some
spirits, if you like, can be somuch easier.

Lisa Brandis (14:47):
Quite often

annmarie@annmarielord.com (14:48):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (14:49):
you know, go to see their loved ones at the
graveyard and they'd be in thecar with them on the way there.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (14:54):
They used to show me that the, they'd
get in the car with them andthey'd drive to the cemetery and
it'd be freezing.
And then they'd sit in thecemetery with them and it'd be
like, okay, you know, you'refrozen off now let's get back in
the car and let's go home.

Lisa Brandis (15:08):
yeah,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (15:08):
where ashes are or where, the remains
are.
Yeah, you can call your gu idesin anytime.

Lisa Brandis (15:13):
In at any time, when you

annmarie@annmarielord.com (15:15):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (15:16):
when you first stepped into, mediumship.
On a public platform, it can bequite nerve wracking for new
fledgling mediums to get outthere and start sharing their
work.
And I know I've certainlyexperienced the same with live
channeling.
'cause there is that element oftrust.
You have to trust spirit.
You don't know what's, there'sno script.
You dunno what's gonna be said.
And it takes a lot of courageEspecially when we love what we

(15:38):
wanna do and we really wanna doa good job and people are
vulnerable with mediumship.
So it is something that we traina long time, sometimes for many
years before we take that firststep on the stage to do platform
mediumship.
And I just wanted to know, whatwas it like for you when you
first stepped onto the stage andstarted to give medium ship
readings to a larger group?

(15:59):
Anne-Marie.

annmarie@annmarielor (16:02):
Absolutely terrifying.

Lisa Brandis (16:04):
It's,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (16:04):
I remember getting a chance, to
work with another medium and,she taught me a lot actually.
And when I went to work withthis medium, I was absolutely
terrified.
And I think one of the biggestthings is stepping into that
power,

Lisa Brandis (16:20):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (16:20):
you know, stepping into that fear
and that energy.
And, you know, you talk aboutlike, does it get any easier?
No, it doesn't.

Lisa Brandis (16:29):
it?

annmarie@annmarielord.co (16:29):
single time.
No.
That's right.
That's right.
And every time I step into thator get onto that platform or
onto that stage, um.
Yeah, I'm still a, a, a ladywho, um, I connected with in the
UK called Hannah McIntyre.
She's an amazing medium over inthe uk.

Lisa Brandis (16:50):
Yep.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (16:50):
I actually done an interview on
her podcast and she's been aguest on mine and she said, she
sounds like Laie the Lamb.
As soon as she gets up, she'slike, hello.
You know, and I thought, oh myGod.
So do I.
So the first, when you, whenyou're introducing yourself, you
know your lipstick to the top ofyour teeth and

Lisa Brandis (17:11):
horrible.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (17:12):
you know, but once it is horrible,
it's terrible.
But once you get into that, that

Lisa Brandis (17:17):
the energy.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (17:18):
or once you, yeah, I, it's like
you've blended when, when you'vedone your meditation before the
show, but you're still standingup and giving that introduction
as you shall I say.

Lisa Brandis (17:32):
mm

annmarie@annmarielord.com (17:33):
not nearly knowing what's gonna
happen, and then you say, okay, now I'm open.

Lisa Brandis (17:38):
mm

annmarie@annmarielord.com (17:38):
I feel.
And then as soon as I open up tospirit, it fit in.

Lisa Brandis (17:44):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (17:45):
that laddy the lamb voice goes it.
It's like, and you are on afloat.

Lisa Brandis (17:49):
Yeah, and I

annmarie@annmarielord.com (17:50):
You just connecting and connecting
and connecting.

Lisa Brandis (17:53):
I don't know, I dunno if it's the same for you
with mediumship, but it'sslightly different for
channeling.
But I, I also feel that there'san energy that is created by the
room as a whole.
So I think as an energy, as aco, a

annmarie@annmarielord.com (18:05):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (18:05):
I think I found it easy to realize it's not just me
here, and instead of focusing onmyself and how I'm gonna look or
what I'm gonna say, or what if Imake mistakes or what if it
doesn't resonate, I startthinking about.
How can I be of service, notonly with the help of spirit,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (18:19):
Yeah,

Lisa Brandis (18:19):
I help the people that are

annmarie@annmarielord.co (18:21):
that's right.

Lisa Brandis (18:21):
it becomes more about them,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (18:23):
what it's all about.

Lisa Brandis (18:24):
and making a difference.
And I think, um, I think it's,it's reasonable to be nervous
around something and, and it is,I

annmarie@annmarielo (18:32):
Absolutely.

Lisa Brandis (18:33):
of getting up in public speaking is one of the
top two fears that people have.
So I think we are really brave,Anne-Marie,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (18:39):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (18:40):
to challenge

annmarie@annmarielord. (18:42):
Imagine.

Lisa Brandis (18:43):
to get up there and do it.

annmarie@annmarielord.c (18:45):
Exactly with no script.
You know, people who sing knowwhat they're gonna sing.
People who, who, that's right.
They have a script.
People who play

Lisa Brandis (18:55):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (18:56):
a script.
We have no script.

Lisa Brandis (18:59):
the reason we keep coming back and doing it time
and time again, for me, theexperience is unlike anything
that I've ever done in my humanexperience.
It is the feeling of joy that Ifeel when I'm blended with my
spirit team

annmarie@annmarielord.com (19:14):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (19:15):
electrifying and I just feel so much,

annmarie@annmarielord.c (19:17):
Mm-hmm.

Lisa Brandis (19:18):
and, the information that comes through
is profound and wise and I loveit.
I just, I remember the very

annmarie@annmarielord.com (19:26):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (19:27):
I saw Tony Stockwell trance channel
demonstrate, and I was in thefront row and felt that
electrified energy, was lifechanging and I, you know how
people have a near deathexperience and they kind of, at
the end of that, they know thatthere is a spirit world.
It becomes a knowing, not aquestion.
I wonder

annmarie@annmarielord.com (19:43):
Yeah, that's right.

Lisa Brandis (19:44):
the same,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (19:45):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (19:46):
that,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (19:46):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (19:47):
in a different altered state.
was

annmarie@annmarielord.com (19:50):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (19:51):
tune with his spirit guide.
Like I could literally see hisenergy transfigure in front of
me and feel the emotion of his

annmarie@annmarielord.co (19:57):
That's amazing

Lisa Brandis (19:58):
And

annmarie@annmarielord.com (19:58):
see that.

Lisa Brandis (19:59):
a hundred

annmarie@annmarielord.com (19:59):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (20:00):
in this conference

annmarie@annmarielord.com (20:01):
Yeah,

Lisa Brandis (20:01):
how to do that.
It was from that

annmarie@annmarielord.com (20:04):
yeah.

Lisa Brandis (20:05):
I was like, I wanna do that.
And

annmarie@annmarielord.com (20:07):
I know.

Lisa Brandis (20:08):
been

annmarie@annmarielord.com (20:08):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (20:09):
the journey of developing.
'cause it doesn't take, it's not

annmarie@annmarielord.com (20:12):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (20:12):
can do easily.
It takes time, but it's so worthit.
It's so worth it.
And I, I was listening to someof your podcast in preparation
for this interview and there wastwo things that blew me away.
I heard you talking about one ofyour friends that had AML so for
those that dunno, acute myeloidleukemia, and she was in
remission.
And from what I know of that.

(20:33):
Um, illness there, there's notmany that actually, uh, make it
'cause the stats are pretty low.
My husband had AML when I waspregnant with our two ch with,
my second child

annmarie@annmarielord.com (20:44):
No.

Lisa Brandis (20:45):
he's now 17 years in remission.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (20:47):
Wow.

Lisa Brandis (20:48):
and some of what she was saying

annmarie@annmarielord.com (20:51):
My son.

Lisa Brandis (20:51):
because he literally saw it as a gift and
changed his whole life based onwhat he

annmarie@annmarielord.com (20:56):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (20:57):
when he went within, uh, when he had cancer
and realized he was totally inthe wrong

annmarie@annmarielord.com (21:01):
Mm.

Lisa Brandis (21:02):
a sales wrapping job and he was just out of
alignment

annmarie@annmarielord.com (21:06):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (21:07):
and changed his whole career.
And since then, he is neverlooked back and he doesn't say
that I'm in remission.
He says, I'm cancer free.
17 years

annmarie@annmarielord.co (21:15):
That's what she said.
Yeah.
I'm cancer free.
Yeah,

Lisa Brandis (21:18):
So, so all these

annmarie@annmarielord.com (21:20):
She was amazing lady.

Lisa Brandis (21:22):
She sounded it on the podcast.
So if you haven't had a chanceto listen, do you know the
episode number Anne-Marie, orwhat her name is so

annmarie@annmarielord.com (21:29):
Oh,

Lisa Brandis (21:29):
find it?

annmarie@annmarielord.com (21:30):
her name is, her name is Sir Linley.

Lisa Brandis (21:33):
we'll

annmarie@annmarielord.com (21:33):
she's

Lisa Brandis (21:35):
mm.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (21:36):
Sir Linley.
She's just an amazing lady.
I first was introduced to Siri.
not personally.
I seen a, talk at Tony Robbinsevent.
She's one of Tony Robbins'.
coaches and she teaches on hisevents, on his UPW events I
messaged her when she was sickbecause she'd been such a big

(21:58):
influence on my life, eventhough she didn't know it.
And that's a thing that we doand to do in this, in the roles
that we do.
We don't even know the peoplethat we touch half the time, and
that's a big difference.
And that's about always beingtrue and standing up and
authentically as you.
But going back to Sadie, Icontacted Sadie thinking I

(22:20):
wouldn't get a reply, and Ididn't wanna reply.
I just wanted her to know that Iwas sending a healing through
Reiki

Lisa Brandis (22:26):
so beautiful.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (22:28):
and she contacted me and, we've
become friends ever since.
So, yeah, she's,

Lisa Brandis (22:33):
that pure intent.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (22:35):
yeah.

Lisa Brandis (22:36):
That's beautiful.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (22:37):
Yeah, she's such an amazing lady.
She really is.
And I'm so proud of thebeautiful, amazing person that
she is.
Um, and yeah, she does, uh, she, through her illness, she
actually went on to rescuehorses who were ready for
slaughter and yeah.
And she's got this, um.

(22:57):
She's got this, uh, a bigcompany now, believe Ranch and
Rescue, where she rescues horsesand she's, oh my God, she's just
beautiful.
She's amazing lady.
Her and her wife be,

Lisa Brandis (23:08):
oh wow,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (23:09):
yeah,

Lisa Brandis (23:09):
I did some work a while ago with Reiki healing and
horses, and their heart feelsprofound.
Like they were literally,remember laying

annmarie@annmarielord.com (23:18):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (23:18):
table down in the paddock and there was four
horses and there was a lady thatwas kind of translating what the
horses were doing and, and I'mliterally like, there was this
big horse called Zeus, and I'mlike.
want Zeus, I don't want the bighorse.
Zeus.
I wanted the little po.
There was like a, the, I dunno, the female horses called mares.
There was this sweet

annmarie@annmarielord.com (23:38):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (23:39):
and she didn't want anything to do with me.
This big boof Zeus came right upto me.
It was nudging me and I'm like, get away.
And it was so interesting.
So I laid down on the massagetable.
And then she said to me, he cameover me and literally waved his
head right from the bottom of myfeet over my head.
And you know, to me, I alwaysgrew up loving horses.

(24:02):
Like I've just loved

annmarie@annmarielord.com (24:03):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (24:04):
magnificent animal.
And I always love the arch of ahorse.
They just remind me of such

annmarie@annmarielord.com (24:09):
Yeah,

Lisa Brandis (24:09):
And I was laying

annmarie@annmarielord.com (24:11):
yeah.

Lisa Brandis (24:11):
looking up under the arch of this horse's neck,
just the most beautiful part ofa horse.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (24:16):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (24:16):
He was a test tube horse meant to, they had big
ambitions for him to be aracehorse, and he failed all of
their expectations, and so hewas rejected.
And the minute she said that, Ijust started sobbing because

annmarie@annmarielord.com (24:30):
yeah.

Lisa Brandis (24:31):
Rejection that I'd felt that I hadn't processed.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (24:34):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (24:35):
little mare started nibbling my feet to make
me come out of it.
And we all started laughingbecause like

annmarie@annmarielord.com (24:41):
Oh.

Lisa Brandis (24:42):
the horses just ground us and bring us back to
like, I was like, okay, you got

annmarie@annmarielord (24:46):
Beautiful horses.

Lisa Brandis (24:48):
ah, it

annmarie@annmarielord.com (24:48):
Yeah.
They're beautiful.
so special animals.

Lisa Brandis (24:52):
So you've developed your own, method
through the three grateful, grateful three approach to life.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (24:58):
Yep.

Lisa Brandis (24:58):
what inspired this and how has gratitude,'cause I
know that's a theme that threadsthroughout the book.
How has gratitude changed theway you live and work with
Spirit?
Anne Marie?

annmarie@annmarielord.com (25:13):
I believe gratitude can change
anything.
Gratitude can change anybody'slife.

Lisa Brandis (25:18):
Hmm.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (25:18):
for me, when I started seeing, What
I had in life rather than what Ididn't have.
Then life became changeable,

Lisa Brandis (25:29):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (25:30):
a lot of the time we go through life
saying, we haven't got this, wehaven't got that, and it's so
easy for us all to do that.
I find myself still falling intothat path,

Lisa Brandis (25:39):
Yep.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (25:40):
but having the grateful three
approach to life tools, as Icall them, is your bag of not
staying there.
So when you, when you start, oh,I haven't got this, or life's
become a bit too heavy, orlife's a bit shit at the moment,
whatever it is, then.
Then you stop and you put yourhands on your heart and you just

(26:00):
give thanks for three things.
that's when life begins tochange, because throughout that
day there's, you know, it isscience as well because, you
know, I am a nurse.
We will bring science in.
When we give gratitude for threethings in our lives.
What we are doing is we areprogramming the RAS system, the

(26:21):
reticular activating system.
So what happens there is youstart seeing more of what you've
just programmed.
The RAS system hasn't got sortof wrong.
If you haven't heard of it, lookit up.
It's a, it's a, um, it's asystem within the brain that.
Looks at what we are emotionallythinking and helps us see more.

(26:46):
So if you are emotionallythinking negative things, the
RIS system will make you seemore of what is negative.
If you are, given gratitude orseeing positive things
throughout your day, your RASsystem flicks on and sees more
of what is good in your life.
So for me, this was like a lightbulb moment I was thinking.

(27:09):
We all work with this RAS systemand don't know we've got it.
What an amazing tool to have.
So we can then script, we canchange the pattern of our lives
going forward by gratitude.
You know, I didn't bring thisin.
If you look at, um, Buddhism,

Lisa Brandis (27:29):
the

annmarie@annmarielor (27:29):
gratitude.

Lisa Brandis (27:30):
Yeah.
It's the antidote for anger andworry.

annmarie@annmarielord.co (27:33):
Right, that's right.
Or if even in, um, you know, ifyou're religious, if you've got
being brought so Catholic, likeI was, everything is about
giving thanks.
Do you know what I mean?
This isn't new.
Everything is about beinggrateful.
So I thought, simple.
What can we do?
Put your hands on your horse.

(27:54):
Take a deep breath in and givethanks for three things, but do
it every morning before you evenopen your eyes.
'cause you're still a little bitin that thesis zone.
And then what I found is I'mbrushing my teeth going, Hey,
I've got teeth.
I've got legs to get me out thebed.
And things that we take forgranted.

Lisa Brandis (28:11):
the

annmarie@annmarielord.com (28:11):
Hot watered in it.
There you go.

Lisa Brandis (28:13):
Or a beautiful

annmarie@annmarielord.com (28:14):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (28:15):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.co (28:16):
That's right.
But I, I wanna tell yousomething really quickly and
very simply have your listeners,so have you as well, Lisa, have
you ever thought that you'regonna buy a new car or you want
a new car and you're thinkingabout this new car?
I always call it the Red RangeRover.
So you think about this new carand then the next day you get on
the road and everywhere youlook, there's Red Range Rovers.

Lisa Brandis (28:39):
definitely.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (28:42):
Range Rover now that Orange Range
Rover could look red in a bit ofa light.
So was them cars on the road theday before?
Absolutely.
You hadn't switched this on toc.

Lisa Brandis (28:55):
Mm.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (28:56):
So then if you decide to do this
with gratitude, then you willsee things to be grateful for.
But then you'll leave and seeOrange Range Rovers.
So you might even say, well, being grateful for that
yesterday, but you know, today,I could suppose I could be
grateful for it.
Do you get what I'm saying?
It's, it's about

Lisa Brandis (29:17):
It

annmarie@annmarielord.com (29:17):
how the RIS.
Massively.
And why not use it to enhanceyour life rather than to make
your life

Lisa Brandis (29:26):
I

annmarie@annmarielord.com (29:27):
or sad.

Lisa Brandis (29:28):
I often say that as a hypnotherapist, when we get
the mind to work for us insteadof against

annmarie@annmarielo (29:34):
absolutely.

Lisa Brandis (29:35):
change in our

annmarie@annmarielord.com (29:36):
Yeah,

Lisa Brandis (29:36):
rapidly as well.
And that's, yeah, I think really

annmarie@annmarielord.com (29:39):
very quickly.

Lisa Brandis (29:40):
there's one thing

annmarie@annmarielord.com (29:41):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (29:42):
helped me with, there was a bit of an issue I
was struggling with on our lastconversation and you said, oh,
go back to my book and go tothe.
Effort buckets.
I won't swear

annmarie@annmarielord.com (29:51):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (29:52):
buckets.

annmarie@annmarielord.co (29:53):
right.

Lisa Brandis (29:53):
again, these are simple tools that we often have
learn before, but we forget andit's just, I sat there with this
particular problem I had.
I literally got out post-itnotes and I'm like, this one
goes and this.
Bucket.
This one goes in that bucket, and it literally just shifted my
state.
And that sometimes we can get ona loop in our mind over fear of

(30:15):
what others think of us when wereally have no control.
It's none of our business whatanyone thinks of us yet as
humans,

annmarie@annmarielord.co (30:22):
shows.

Lisa Brandis (30:22):
we care.
It's important to us.
We want

annmarie@annmarielord.com (30:25):
yeah.

Lisa Brandis (30:25):
to like us.
It feels good when they do sofor.
Our listeners, can you just, recap what the buckets are and
give a great example of howsomeone can

annmarie@annmarielord.com (30:35):
Yeah, so the buckets for me are.
Everything about my, my book iscommon sense.
It's quick, it's simple and it'scommon sense.
Yeah.
Now, the book for me was aboutconfidence.
You know, if you, if you arethinking of starting your own
business, say for instance, andthen you think of going forward

(30:56):
and you think, okay, what willpeople say?
What will people think?

Lisa Brandis (31:01):
outta the

annmarie@annmarielord.com (31:02):
What will people do?

Lisa Brandis (31:03):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (31:04):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (31:05):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (31:05):
for instance, like me, like being a
nurse and then stepping forwardinto telling everyone I was a
medium, what will people, nowthe key, the key question here
is people.

Lisa Brandis (31:16):
Yes.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (31:17):
so what I want you to think about
is people who are these people?
So a lot of the time we thinkabout people as the people on
Facebook or some maybe friendthat you haven't seen for 40 odd
years who you went to schoolwith.
Well, she might judge me.
Really, so stay with me for amoment here.
So we have these buckets.
to the left of the buckets, wehave, people who we don't know

(31:40):
and they don't know us.
say people that you haven'tinteracted with, people on
Facebook, that kind of thing.
And then to the right of thebuckets, you're gonna have
people who don't like you.
And we don't really like them ifwe got to know them.
Yeah.
So, and it's okay to say that, okay.
Spiritual people have peoplethat don't like them.

Lisa Brandis (31:58):
Yep.

annmarie@annmarielord.co (31:59):
That's nice.
And then in the front Bookerhere, we've got the people who
love us and who care about us.
So you are ready to start thisbeautiful, new venture within
your life and you are lettingthe people stop you.
I want you to think, which wouldyou put the people.
In because my friend, when youthink of this beautiful journey

(32:23):
and this beautiful new adventurethat could change your life,
your kids' lives, your family'slives, your home where you live,
but you are letting their peoplestop you.
The people that you mightn'thave even seen in a hundred
years or whatever, you know thepeople that don't like you, so

(32:44):
they're not gonna like youanyway.
But then I wanna take you to thefront because then we say, okay,
so say it's going to be me, mumthat says, oh love.
I don't think you should dothat.
Or, you know, maybe that's notthe right thing.
Or me, husband or someone likethat.
There's only two reasons thatpeople will say that.
The people who love you, and oneof them is their own limit and

(33:08):
beliefs, so they wouldn't beable to do it.
Through fear or their own limitand beliefs.
And the second is through theirfear of love for you.
They do not wanna see you fail,

Lisa Brandis (33:20):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (33:21):
so they keep you safe.

Lisa Brandis (33:23):
keep

annmarie@annmarielord.com (33:24):
when you wanna go on a journey,

Lisa Brandis (33:26):
Mm.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (33:26):
say that again.

Lisa Brandis (33:27):
Yeah.
you end up playing small toplease them, and you

annmarie@annmarielord.com (33:30):
You do.

Lisa Brandis (33:31):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (33:31):
Yeah, but small keeps you small, keeps
you never achieving your goalsor your dreams, never getting
your family what they wanna do.
Never.
You know, when I, I said topeople I was coming to live in
Australia, a place I'd neverbeen before.
I didn't even know where I wasgoing.
Um, I had a dream when I wasabout, oh God, I must have been

(33:52):
about 14,

Lisa Brandis (33:53):
Wow.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (33:54):
never been to Australia at all.
And I packed up, me, mehusbands, me, three kids, and
sold me house, gave our jobs upand landed in Australia.
Was like, whoa.

Lisa Brandis (34:04):
family had a few

annmarie@annmarielord.com (34:05):
But the,

Lisa Brandis (34:05):
about that then.

annmarie@annmarielord (34:07):
everybody did.
Everybody did.
You know, are you nuts?
You know?
But if I were to listen to themand I would've let them stop me,
I.
My life would've been sodifferent.
So don't let anyone stop you.
Put them in a book.

Lisa Brandis (34:22):
Yeah, I love it.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (34:23):
Put them in a book.

Lisa Brandis (34:24):
simple but powerful and life
transformational, experiencethat we can do and it does give
you power back.
And like I said, I tried itrecently

annmarie@annmarielo (34:33):
Absolutely.

Lisa Brandis (34:33):
it does make a difference.
And it's amazing how when we getinto it, you know, I think no
matter when we are going throughgrowth phases, sometimes there's
changes we're going through inbusiness.
It never stops, no matter

annmarie@annmarielord.com (34:44):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (34:44):
years in this

annmarie@annmarielord.com (34:45):
No,

Lisa Brandis (34:46):
a spiritual teacher.
And I'm still learning, likethere's always.

annmarie@annmarielord.co (34:48):
right.

Lisa Brandis (34:49):
Yeah, we're always humble

annmarie@annmarielord.com (34:50):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (34:50):
we,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (34:51):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (34:51):
Or the more I know, the less I know is kind of
one of my favorite sayings'causeit just keeps us in that, you
know, always in that learningframe.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (34:59):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (34:59):
for people to know, even when we've achieved
great things ourself, Ann Marie, and written books like we both
have,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (35:04):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (35:04):
you know, we still

annmarie@annmarielord.com (35:06):
Yeah,

Lisa Brandis (35:07):
We still have ups and downs in health crisis and,
you know, all kinds of things.
'cause there's the human beneaththe spiritual teacher that, you
know, that we struggle

annmarie@annmarielord.com (35:15):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (35:16):
And that can

annmarie@annmarielord.com (35:16):
Yeah,

Lisa Brandis (35:17):
be helpful to know,

annmarie@annmarielo (35:18):
Definitely.

Lisa Brandis (35:19):
What's the challenge that you've overcome
that you feel would be reallyhelpful for people either just
beginning to learn or beginningto step out into mediumship or
as Reiki healers beginning tobuild their practice?
Is there anything that you wishyou knew when you started that
you now have learned through theyears of your experience that
would just make that journeyeasier to

annmarie@annmarielord.com (35:42):
Yeah, absolutely.
Stand in your own authenticity.
you are not somebody else.
You are you.
You bring everything you are toyour practice.
You are never gonna be.
Mary down the road becauseMary's Mary.
So people will go to Mary who, like Mary,

Lisa Brandis (36:02):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (36:03):
know what I mean?
But people will come to you whoresonate with you.
You stand in your authenticity.
The more we focus on what otherpeople are doing or what, other
people where they are in theirpractice or in their life,
destroys.
The energy and the, the self.
Yeah.
What you need to give back toyou.

(36:24):
The, the more energy you spendlooking at other people is the
less energy you spend helpingyou grow.
You.
So my one thing I would say.
To everybody stand within yourown authenticity.
Do not worry or care.
And that's one of the thingsI've found within this spiritual

(36:45):
industry is, not everybody, buta lot of people focus on what
other people are doing.

Lisa Brandis (36:50):
The comparison.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (36:51):
focus on what other people

Lisa Brandis (36:53):
Even in classrooms.
I see people compare themself

annmarie@annmarielord.com (36:56):
yeah,

Lisa Brandis (36:56):
I'm like, yeah,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (36:57):
yeah.

Lisa Brandis (36:57):
may have come with a lot of other training into
this channeling course.
They may have come with years ofdevelopment in a circle, which
is why it may be easier for themto channel and you are just
beginning.
So it, it's, it's, it'sinteresting how many

annmarie@annmarielord.com (37:11):
But it doesn't matter.

Lisa Brandis (37:13):
ourselves.
It doesn't, and I

annmarie@annmarielord.com (37:15):
Yeah, it doesn't matter.

Lisa Brandis (37:17):
I think you're right.
The more that we can focus onwho we are and how we deliver

annmarie@annmarielord.com (37:21):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (37:22):
self and know

annmarie@annmarielord.com (37:24):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (37:24):
abundant world, there's enough for everybody.

annmarie@annmarielo (37:27):
Absolutely.

Lisa Brandis (37:28):
and yet it's something that

annmarie@annmarielord.com (37:30):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (37:30):
and time for people.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (37:31):
you know what I always think about
is if you've got a wound on yourarm

Lisa Brandis (37:35):
yep.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (37:35):
or you are trying to heal this and
grow this skin back over andthis wound, you wouldn't look at
somebody else and say, I'm gonnafix your wound.

Lisa Brandis (37:46):
No.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (37:47):
Why would you do that?

Lisa Brandis (37:48):
No,

annmarie@annmarielord.com (37:49):
I'll help you grow the skin by hover
onto your wounds.
One, it's impossible,

Lisa Brandis (37:55):
Yeah.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (37:56):
and two, it's a waste of energy.

Lisa Brandis (37:59):
disempowering

annmarie@annmarielord.com (38:00):
to bring it back.
Absolutely, absolutely.
If you try and step in and dothat for someone, but majority
of the time we don't do that.
We just watch from afar and letwhat other people are doing.
If you are focusing on otherpeople, it destroys your
confidence.
It's like Facebook, Instagram, you know, don't stand in

(38:23):
authenticity.
Nobody else on this planet isyou or comes to your business
with what you've got to offer.
So my friend, focus on you.
Focus on you, and watch how yourbusiness and your spiritual
growth will change.

Lisa Brandis (38:41):
Beautiful words of wisdom, Anne Marie and I can
really feel that that willresonate with so many people.

simple and easy to follow, ideasand instructions.
is there anything else that youhaven't shared that you would
like to, Marie.

annmarie@annmarielord.com (39:03):

you might have to narrow me downa little bit there.

Lisa Brandis (39:08):
have to leave it for now and we can always

annmarie@annmarielord.com (39:10):
Yeah.

Lisa Brandis (39:11):
