By now, we are all sick and tired of hearing about Impeachment, but this is a historic event and must be covered. Out of the 44 men who have served as President of the United States, 3 of them have been impeached. Fully two-thirds of those men impeached have been so for embarrassing Hillary Clinton.
On December 18th, 2019, President Donald Trump was impeached by the US House of Representatives. Article 1 of the US Constitution grants that sole responsibility to the House. Based on rules for the house and senate, the impeachment proceedings are a bit confusing, but let’s just leave it at—the House is responsible for impeaching the President and delivering the articles of impeachment when they feel good and ready—or never if they so choose.
With less than 11 months until the next election, their is a nagging question of why not just wait and vote him out of office? During the proceedings we heard lots of talk of how critical it was to impeach Trump now that time was of the essence…America could not survive one more day with Trump in office.
At the press conference immediately following the historic vote to Impeach an American President for only the third time in history, the Speaker of the House hinted that she might not deliver the articles to the Senate for trial. So much for the sense of urgency. Today I will share the sentiments of a public servant I respect greatly…Mike Huckabee published an open letter to Speaker Pelosi and I feel you, my listeners, should hear it.
