C.J. Solar is a Country Music singer/songwriter with writing credits on Morgan Wallen's #1 single "Up Down" and Jameson Roger's chart topper "Some Girls". He recently released his own album "The Future's Neon". C.J. joins Country Music Made Me to discuss how picking up his Dad's electric guitar inspired his dreams of a career in music, the events that led to him and his brother's forming a band, and how a trip to Nashville in Middle school where he saw Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley and Brad Paisley perform at the Grand Ole Opry inspired his love of Country Music. C.J and Brendan talk about his foray into songwriting during high school, how that led to attending Belmont University, and the life changing moment when he was offered a publishing deal while interning at Sea Gayle Music. C.J. explains how his songwriting journey has led to two #1 hits, how he balances songwriting and being an artist, and the transitional phase of his career during 2021 that led to the creation of his new album "The Future's Neon".
