In Dependence - Pastor Zach Flaig - July 12, 2026

Pastor Zach Flaig opens the "In Dependence" sermon series with a message called "The Secret in Weakness," built around Jesus' words in John 15:5 that apart from Him, we can do nothing. He shares vulnerably about his own physical, emotional, and family struggles to make the case that every one of us, no matter how strong, smart, or brave, is fundamentally weak. Turning to 2 Corinthians 11 and 12, he traces how the apostle Paul refused to boast in his impressive credentials and instead boasted in his weaknesses, since Christ told him that His power is made perfect in weakness. Paul's example teaches that our strengths call for humility while our weaknesses call for boldness, because God does His greatest work not despite our weakness but through it. Pastor Zach shares his own testimony of finding freedom from addiction through Celebrate Recovery as proof that confession, bringing our weakness into the light with God and others, produces fellowship rather than the shame Satan wants us to feel. He closes by challenging us to share our weakness wisely this week, through both confession to trusted believers and profession of what Jesus has done, so our weakness becomes God's weapon instead of our secret.
